O'Plaisir des Sens

"This spruce stone house has earned a fine reputation for itself in Périgord. Bruno enthusiastically whips up dishes tailored to modern appetites featuring premium regional delicacies: free-range geese, partridges, a nose-to-tail ethos and fruit and veg from local growers. Bistro/roast spit menu at lunchtime, gastronomic in the evening. The shaded patio by a fountain is bliss come summertime." - Michelin Inspector

We live in the Dordogne and just discovered this outstanding restaurant ! The positive energy you feel upon entering is only surpassed by the warm reception and delicious food prepared with local ingredients. The artist Mika has added to the sense of fun. We will be back and recommend to friends !

Food was good but didn’t take away the bad taste in my mouth from the scene with the proprietress. My friend is vegetarian and also allergic to pepper, which I understand is complicated, but when I tried to give the information on the reservation website, it rushed me onto the required credit card information. So I ended up explaining in person , and got in trouble at because “this isn’t the kind of restaurant where my husband can just make an omelette” (And Why not?) We would have left due to thus unpleasant scene, only they had our credit card information and would have charged us 120 Euros for a reservation cancellation.

With flavours to excite the taste buds, & interesting pottery table wear, we had a really good experience! If we had possessed a little more of the French it would have helped in our understanding of the subtle flavours! Divine!

What an amazing place - definitely worth eating here! The grated foie gras was out of this world - it's worth going here just for that. Wonderful service too. Thank you.

A great gourmet Restautant, combining classic with innovative touches - not to be missed! The staff is very helpful and welcoming, and of course professional. We had two menus - the Gourmet Menu and the Pleasure Menu. The highlights were the 2 foie gras dishes: the Grated duck foie gras was exceptional and unique, and the Pan-fried Périgord duck foie gras was also very very good. The other courses were just as good, and we didn't leave a single crumb or a drop on our plates. The pricing is very reasonable for this level of cooking. A Michelin star is certainly due. A good word goes to Lydie, the hostess and sommelier, who was very friendly and helpful, even though it was a busy evening. I wish more hostesses in French restaurants will be just as inviting as Lydie.
