Google
I found Ō and Kō through Fujii Farms website advertising that they're offering berry Malasadas for sale at their fruit stand (I buy their fresh berries 😋). Of course Malasadas immediately caught my attention, as I have not been able to find any locally except occasionally at summer time festivals. So I checked out their website which instantly made me flash back to home so I tried an online order of mini Malasadas, and picked them up in a couple of days. Soon as I walked in the door, the smell was amazingly wonderful of home baked goods, I was warmly greeted by Chris, who had my order packed and waiting for me. Cindy (Keahi) was busily behind the counter preparing something probably yummy. Chris was very friendly, and even briefly talked story with me (Mahalo Chris). I tried one (plain) soon as I got to my truck, I was not disappointed! There were plain, chocolate cream, haupia, and cream filled ones, all " broke da mouth" (incredibly delicious). My Ohana loves them too! I highly recommend Ō and Kō bakery if you love Malasadas, as good or betta than even Leonard's! (If you know Malasadas, you know what I'm talking about.) Mahalo nui Chris, and Cindy, you made me homesick in a good way! 5 stars is not enough! I will definitely be back. 🤙

The malasadas at O The Bake Shop are absolutely delicious - perfectly soft, fresh, and just the right amount of sweetness. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staffs are incredibly friendly, always willing to explain and help with all the selections. The cashier also gave my daughter a sticker as our first time being in the shop. That made me feel really welcome in their shop. Overall, I highly recommend this shop and will definitely be coming back!

My wife made a call to this wonderful shop right at closing time. We were traveling back home to Eastern Oregon from the coast, and I'm a huge fan of their butter mochi bites. They were very accommodating and let us stop by after closing to pick up some goodies for the road. Nothing but Aloha Spirit from these kind folks. I wish I had gotten their names, I'm pretty sure they were the owners. Gave us some sample bites of lemon and cardamom shortbread, and they are fantastic, especially with my coffee this morning. We've stopped by plenty of times in the past as we love their malasadas as well. Great people, customer service is beyond amazing, and the goodies are spectacular! We always try to stop by every chance we are in the area. Go see them, you will not be disappointed.

I recently visited Ō The Bake Shop in Gresham, Oregon, and it was absolutely worth the hour-long drive! Their malasadas are simply the best—each filled flavor was more delightful than the last. I couldn't help but try all the varieties they had on display. The s'more brownie I got was a gooey, chocolatey dream, the limited kimchi-infused pastry I tried was a unique and delicious surprise that perfectly blended savory with the pickled kimchi. I also tried the butter mochi, which was delicious and tasted like it had bananas in it—a delightful twist that added to its richness and softness. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as the owner was very accommodating in explaining each of the items they had and letting me try samples of their packaged goods. You can feel the love and cultural pride in every bite. If you're craving authentic Hawaiian and Pacific Northwest-inspired treats, this is the place to go. Highly recommend stopping by to experience these amazing baked goods!

Google
My favorite new place. So far all the baked goods I have tasted have been delicious. If you like your sweets not too sweet but flavorful and unique, then you should visit here. I don’t remember the names of everything I tasted but I will return. Only downside is their limited hours. Other than that this is a must visit. The owners are also really welcoming and knowledgeable. They have a very creative mind when it comes to mixing flavors and textures. We need more bake shops like this one.

Very happy today!!! I drove over an hour to visit this much talked about shop!! I have some very special Hawaiian clients that I wanted so much to bring a part of home to them. They were very happy indeed! My mom who is also in love with Malasadas was so thrilled when I surprised her with these treats. She hasn’t had them since she was in Hawaii many years ago! I will definitely be making another trip out to this lovely family owned shop to buy some more goodies. Delicious food! Kind people. I walked in and felt like ohana!! Update: Everyone was so happy with their treats! So delicious! 🌺☀️🌈🌴

We went on a Saturday morning, an hour after opening. There was a steady flow of customers, but not too long of a wait. We tried 5 different pastries for our first visit, to thoroughly test them out. Every single item was a hit. Not sickly sweet. Creative flavors. High quality. Good presentation. Friendly service. Reasonable prices, in my opinion. Now I've just been dreaming of my next chance to stop by, and I've been singing their praises to friends and family. Looking forward to seeing this business grow, maybe even outgrow the space one day and have space for eating on site. So far, orders are to-go only. There isn't space for indoor eating. We didn't mind.

Google
This place is cute and has lots of variety. We got the stuffed berry puffs and a few malasadas. Malasada fillings were good but the dough is way too dense. It's more of a denser doughnut dough. If you ever had malasadas in Hawaii from the original place, they don't compare.

Hannah W.

Yelp
The vanilla donut is one of the best I've ever had! The donut is light and airy, not dense and the vanilla cream not overly sweet. Staff is super friendly!

Kathy S.

Yelp
We've tried so many different flavors of their filled malasadas and all of them were super filled and super fluffy. We've got pretty lucky with them not selling out when we want to stop by, I'm guessing weekends are probably the busiest so most likely they sell out. The owners I'm guessing work the store by themselves and they are super nice. They also do catering orders for their mini malasadas, honestly the perfect size if your not too into sweets. We just got the chocolate filled ones but it was so good!

Melanie T.

Yelp
This morning, I made sure to get to the bakery before all of the pastries were gone! As soon as you walk in, you'll realize that everything is very organized, the employees greet you with a smile and a cheerful hello. They are very helpful in explaining the different flavors and varieties. There is merchandise to purchase if you are a fan. I like that! Prices are spot-on for all of the treats I've had. They share a large parking lot with Goodwill and Hope's Bakery in Gresham on Burnside.

Yelp
The staff were super sweet when I came in. They said they can explain the process for ordering and what they had or if I wanted to I could scan their QR code. All their filled options were available except the mango one. That one must be popular, would definitely want to try it next time. I got one of each flavor they had, two unfilled ones and their POG milk cream filled one. I didn't try all of them since I gave the seasonal and filled ones away to some friends. I tried their POG milk cream and the unfilled malasada. It's been a couple years since I last had a malasada and first time trying one in Portland, these are pretty good. A bit denser than ones I've had before but it's pretty fluffy. The unfilled one is generally my favorite type of malasada, it's just covered in sugar. Good size too. The POG milk cream filled one was not too sweet, a little messy to eat but they had a little scoop with it. I liked the candied orange on it too. They also sell other things too like spam musubi, other pastries and mochi crunch. I bought a birthday flavor mochi crunch but you can sample the flavors to see which one you like. The shop is located in a strip mall sorta. There's a good amount of parking around it, the shop has no seating, so everything is take out. Definitely will be coming back again when I'm in Gresham area.

Yelp
Unfortunately while writing this review, they have closed for the rest of July, but expect to open back up in August, with some big changes! Hot new bakery in Gresham with delicious Malasadas style donuts. This is a Very small, 'brick n mortar' hole-in-the-wall shop, but don't let that stop you! No tables inside, but a few outside to enjoy the weather. These malasadas are seriously delicious. I wish there was a tad bit more cream in the middle, but they're wonderful. The strawberry cheesecake is my favorite, along with the chocolate dobash, All are great and must try! Orwaiian = Oregonian + Hawaiian :D This is in a shopping mall back by the goodwill & autozone off of Burnside in Gresham. The employees are super nice and seem to enjoy being there. They have online ordering, but it's super limited and only a short time, Sunday evening 5-7pm for pickup Friday/Saturday. They're hours are only Friday/Saturday 7am-2pm, so If you don't get preorder, stop in their open times and see if available! I went in pretty much right when they open and it was busy!

Yelp
Unfortunately they were all sold out of their malasadas (good for them!) by the time I went to the bakery. But they did have a few items remaining. Got a haupia roll which consist of macadamia nuts, haupia (coconut) pudding, and shredded coconut rolled up in a lightly sweetened dough. Topped with more haupia and macadamia nuts. It reminded me if a cinnamon roll concept . Lightly sweet however I didn't get much haupia flavor in my opinion. It was more tangy then what I'm used to. Nonetheless it was still delightful. The guava mochi brownie has a nice chewy texture with a delicious layer of guava cream cheese frosting and guava puree. It is absolutely not overly sweet! Would definitely recommend it. The owner Cyndi was really lovely and explained all her baked goods and answered all the questions I had. The store front is an open kitchen concept. Its not too big nor small. Perfect size for quick in and out. I'll definitely come back again. This time either placing an order online or go early in the morning. Currently they're only open on Fridays and Saturdays only.

Yelp
Come here for the malasadas (mango and guava cheesecake are my favorites), stay for the friendly Hawaiian vibes! Staff is made up of a small-but-mighty family who will remember you and greet you with a smile. Pick up a musubi while you're here, and maybe a butter mochi, or whatever they've got on special. You can't go wrong!

Cara A.

Yelp
For any Hawaii people missing home this Malasada is pretty good. The fillings are delicious. Not too sure I would say better than Leonard's but it's pretty darn good.

Jim F.

Yelp
Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom! What else is there to say? Bought 4 malasadas and my family was lucky I still came home with the 3 for them.

Matthew W.

Yelp
Oh my gosh this was an amazing find. My wife and I wanted to find a bakery and stumbled upon this gem. We ended up getting malasadas that were filled with various fillings. So the bakery is run by a wife and husband duo. The service was amazing and the wife explained what they had to offer.

Darren Y.

Yelp
Holy malasadas Batman. Cool spot in Gresham. Order in advance or they sell out quick. Their chilled stuff malasada is unique - similar to a malasada ice cream sandwich. Lilikoi was nice. They have home made kakimochi too!

Moe W.

Yelp
We thought we would give it a try since the reviews were positive ,really disappointed we got two doughnuts one with mango filling and one with Berry filling, there was hardly any filling in either of the doughnuts.I thought I would give this a try though the doughnuts were not cheap either $3.50 each for a dry tasting doughnut probably won't go back , guess we'll have to stick with the donut world, their donuts are made daily fresh tasting and a lot cheaper

Remi P.

Yelp
Delicious spam musubi and kind people !!! Stoked to have this place here in Gresham !

Yelp
Stopped by Hope's Cafe (q.v.) now that they've reopened and it happened to be the first day that O The Bake Shop (I don't know how to make that little line over the "o" that sets it apart) had an open sign allowing walk-in traffic. Apparently they had reached out via Facebook and Instagram and had booked a lot of online orders and they were mostly filling those. Which is cool. But I love bakeries, and I love small local businesses and this was taking the place of Hope's old bakery space so I wanted to see what was going on. Well, the selection is limited, and even then, most of that was spoken for. I'm not actually a big fan of Hawaiian bread (too sweet for me), but I ordered what they had available to share at the house. I got a Maple Bacon Walnut roll, a KimCheese Roll, and a Haupia Roll. All of them are Chelsea Bun-style, rolled like cinnamon rolls with filling and toppings as described. The KimCheese roll was wonderful. Given my aversion to things too sweet, I was pleased by the (admittedly odd) combination of cheddar cheese, Kim Chi, and Portuguese sausage unexpectedly delicious. The fermented tang of the kim chi, brightened the earthy sausage and the Tillamook cheddar made for an excellent savory roll. I could see them as a lunch solution. Maple bacon walnut sounds like a doughnut but it was not nearly as sweet as one might have imagined. There is a little sweetness but the bacon, the walnuts and the caramelized onions are the real stars. it is also a fairly savory roll but I thought that the bun was also delicious. As one might hope, the Haupia roll is the star if you are looking for a morning bun. The coconut pudding which is the "glaze" in this case is nicely set off by the toasted coconut topping. I didn't get too much macadamia, but didn't miss it either. It might be something i DO miss if it was not there, but it was not obvious. Perfectly baked, well-filled, absolutely lovely, all three of them. I anticipate updating this to a 5 star rating once they get their act together a little better and have extras for sale every day. Love the effort, with the website told me what Mochi Crunch snacks were, glad they are in business. You should check them out! Sorry, a lot of things happening in TFG's life lately, so no photos. I'll fix that next time.

Yelp
The donuts tasted amazing they were down to their last two which were chocolate filled and the baker asked if I wanted another one made special and gave me several choices. I went with the POG flavor and really enjoyed it! Great quality of pastries and customer service will definitely be back!

Chris H.

Yelp
Amazing Malasadas! Great flavors! Musubi, Mochi Crunch, and sweet bread too. Do yourself a favor and make this place a stop before your next journey.

Daisy C.

Yelp
The Malasadas are soft and golden smooth, I chose a rich chocolate filling, along with a fluffy delicately sweet coconut filling and a mellow tart passion fruit filling. These Malasadas are perfectly sweet as it's not overwhelming, I shared them with my family and we all agreed these are delicious and we'll come back for more. Great customer service, they were very welcoming and patient with any questions if it's your first time there. I would recommend anyone to visit

Ashley L.

Yelp
Delicious Hawaiian pastries, worth the hype! I preordered a variety box half-dozen of the recently famous malasadas. I'll say it again - delicious! I also had the opportunity to purchase some additional pastries upon pickup of my preorder. Needless to say, we'll be enjoying malasadas and mochi brownies this weekend.

Deborah I.

Yelp
My son and I visited The Bake Shop for the first time after hiking and we were blown away! Great customer service; so friendly. We couldn't help it, we took home one of at least half the items and shared them with neighbors. What's better than everyone gets a bite of everything?! Such delicious pastries. Our favorite was the chocolate and the butter mochi - soooo good. I think we've found our new favorite place. I can't wait to introduce this wonderful baking to others! If you like delicious foods that are not too sweet, you are going to LOVE The Bake Shop! Grab a box of mixed pastries and take them to any meeting and you'll be the hero of the day!

Kasandra M.

Yelp
Wow! I've been dying to come try this bakery and it did not disappoint! I will be back for guava cheesecake filled malasadas, musubi, kimchi cheddar sausage rolls and macaroons!

Bella D.

Yelp
this bakery has some of the most welcoming people ever! the food makes it so much better because it is just delicious. i love the way the inside of it looks and it has such a good vibe. you will have a great experience if you go here, i HIGHLY recommend it

Janis H.

Yelp
Scrumptious baked goods! Extremely nice & helpful owners. I plan to order Christmas goodies from them!

Kyden O.

Yelp
We have been coming by this shop every Friday for over two months now and I look forward to the weekend every time. The chocolate and strawberry cheesecake malasadas are our #1 go tos! The hupia and taro are just as delicious and a wonderful texture and perfect sweet and savory notes from the dough. Cyndi and her husband always have a smile on their faces and it's intoxicating to taste the love from all their creations! The service is world class. Our newest addiction is the French-ish Nutella and the Marionberry cream cheese stuffed sweet rolls are mind blowing good. It is worth trying everything and you'll see how badly you need to come back for more. And definitely try their handmade mochi crunch, you can't find anything like it around here.

Michael B.

Yelp
Instead of dangling a five star review over your head like the only other rating , I'm just going to give it to you . Your products are amazing . The mochi crunch is like nothing I have ever had in the snack world . It is awesome to see this new business rapidly growing and continually putting out consistent, delicious food. Sure it's not your typical established corporate store front but I'm here to rate the food and the food is amazing . I also can't wait to see the space evolve as it already has. Regular yelpers sadly know their power in giving out anything less than what is deserved. Let's boost small businesses and stop being weird !!!

Madi T.

Yelp
Amazing! Will definitely keep coming. Just like I remember as a kid. Everything they make is unique and delicious
