California Dungeness Crab Season Is Delayed Again | Eater SF

"I learned that the long-running Los Gatos pizzeria plans to expand to Morgan Hill in 2024, and that owner Ross Hanson also intends to open a new restaurant called The Silos in the historic Granary District on Depot Street." - Lauren Saria

My first impression off the bat wasn’t the greatest the wait time was over an hour and a half for a walk in (Make sure to do a reservation)….. BUT the service that was provided by Zoe and Keegan was absolutely exceptional!!! I would definitely recommend this place more due to the service they both had given our table! I’ve never experienced anything like this before! They both ensured to go above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied with everything! They both definitely deserve a raise and kudos! The pricing is high for what it is and if you’re looking for a pizza with no flop this is definitely NOT the place! However the Goomba pizza was full of flavor and that was the better of the two we picked. The Margarita pizza could definitely be better. It lacked a lot of flavor and I used some hot honey to revive it, so that helped a lot! The ambiance feels very cozy and the look of the place is very nice! I’ll definitely come back to give the place another shot because the service was again out of this world and there is two more pizzas that I wanna try (Scotty 2 Hottie & The Jerk). I would definitely consider this place, but again keep in mind the pizzas aren’t crispy if that’s what you’re looking for. Service - 5/5 Price - 2/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Taste - 4/5

Oak & Rye in Los Gatos is one of those places that instantly pulls you in with its cozy yet energetic vibe. The bar is lively, the lighting feels just right, and the staff know their menu inside and out. I started with a miso-inspired cocktail that was incredibly unique—smooth, savory, and balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. I followed it with a creative twist on an Old Fashioned, and both drinks were crafted to perfection. For food, we shared two pizzas: the Jerk and the Commissioner Gordon. Both were absolute standouts. The crusts had that perfect wood-fired char, thin but still chewy, and every topping was layered thoughtfully for flavor and texture. The Jerk had a smoky, spiced kick that was addicting, while the Commissioner Gordon delivered a mix of savory and tangy that was just right. We also ordered the fried potatoes, and they were decadent—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly seasoned. Everything here feels elevated but not overdone. You can tell the chefs and bartenders really care about what they’re creating. Between the atmosphere, the flavors, and the creativity behind every dish and drink, Oak & Rye is easily one of the best dining spots in Los Gatos.

My husband and I had a 5:00 PM dinner reservation on a Monday and were surprised to find a line forming outside before the doors even opened. Despite having reservations, we were the only party seated upstairs. Unfortunately, our table was right by the staircase, which made seating a bit awkward since it’s visible from the entrance and fairly high-traffic. There is outdoor seating available, and many guests seemed to choose it — most of the patio tables were full when we left, which was notable given that it was around 45 degrees and heat lamps can only do so much. One thing I appreciated was how light the pizzas were, and they were sliced in a way that made them easy to share. That said, it would be more convenient if basic condiments were already on the table instead of having to request them. What we ordered: Pretzel (2/5): Too thin and soft for my taste, though the beer cheese was the highlight Shaved Brussels Sprouts (3/5): Interesting overall, but very cheese-forward — I couldn’t really pick up the lemon vinaigrette The Jerk (4/5): Well-seasoned and different from your typical pizza Truffle Shuffle (2/5): This was the biggest letdown. It smelled incredible, but the flavor didn’t come through at all Parking: Located in downtown Los Gatos, so street parking is available along with a few public lots. Availability really depends on timing, and it can be a bit challenging during busier hours. Service: Overall good. I do prefer brighter dining spaces and asked if the lights could be turned on since our area was initially lit only by candlelight. Later in the meal, the overhead lights flickered on and off intermittently. I also noticed nearby tables were offered additional toppings when their pizza arrived, while we had to ask separately for crushed red pepper. Would I return? Possibly — mostly to try different items on the menu.

Google
A pizza place with a minimalist approach to the overall design, decor, furniture and menu. All pizzas are thin crust and don't have a lot of ingredients which is not a bad thing until one contrasts them with the prices. Service is friendly and quick. The pizza feels light and is quite delicious. This is very much a California pizza joint.

Google
Tasty brick oven pizza and fresh salads This place was great! They have a big brick oven in the restaurant, and the pizza was really good. I usually like a super crispy crust, but theirs still tasted great. The arugula salad and shaved Brussels sprouts were fresh and light, really nice. The place is kid-friendly, which made it easy for the whole family to enjoy.

Google
Our experience was very good - dishes were very tasty and servers were very attentive. Definitely we will visit again but not during their busy hours.

Google
Pizza crust was excellent but the arugula/cheese topping was not great. The Margarita was better. Arugula salad was very good. Service was slow/confused. The patio seating was nice. Pretzel was good.

Anchal S.

Google
Must try🍽️ The pretzel was good 🥨 ( granulated mustard, beer cheese( kinda strong in flavor) Ginger beer - so underrated!! So good Margarita pizza was good, could have been a little less chewy.

Yelp
Dont understand the bad ratings! We went on Monday evening and it was hopping almost to full capacity. Husband and I ordered cocktails and 2 pizzas-the margarita and the goomba. Loved the charred edges on the crust and the pizza was amazing! Best eaten hot. Cocktails were good too though on the smaller side. Service was friendly and we will definitely go back! Total was $100 with tax and tip for 2 codktails and 2 pizzas.

Yelp
We came here on a Wednesday night at 5pm with reservations. No issues getting in. Getting a table. Started with the mushrooms, unique flavorful and amazing. Then we went to risotto balls which were perfect in texture with crunch and softness with a ripe tomato sauce that was so subtle but nice. Then we went to the Scotty to hotty. Was delightful. Service was attentive and timely. I will be back.

Yelp
Delicious wood oven grilled pizzas. I got the standard, the margarita. It was similar to what I had in Italy. Crispy bottom. A little of sauce, and some basil spread out. The chewy warm crust is amazing. Service is spectacular! On a Saturday night at 7:30 even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait a while and we were going to be late to an event. Also we sat upstairs by the kitchen so it gets loud and hot by the oven. Price point is high with most pizzas over $25, some almost $30. Appetizer of 3 meatballs is $18. I feel like either the portions should be bigger, or the price should be a little bit less. There is no green salad option - brussels, caesar (which is not Italian), and arugula. There is 1 entree meat option, the chicken parm, and I wanted some other options as well like eggplant, beef, or fish. Drinks come out very slowly as there is only 1 bartender.

Yelp
The pizzas here are the star for sure - you can see the action in the wood fire oven upstairs and the flavors are fantastic. The Scotty to Hotty pizza we ordered was the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and cheesy. However all of the appetizers were very mediocre - the oyster mushrooms were tasty but too salty, the arancini were crispy but the risotto centers were too mushy, and the pork meatballs were average. Service is excellent, and our server came and checked in on us periodically.

Yelp
Picked up a couple of pizzas from Oak & Rye for a nice afternoon picnic at the Vasona Lake Park this weekend. My friends also joined and ordered their pizzas and a couple of the Brussels Sprouts Salad. Everyone enjoyed their orders. Both the Margherita and the Konami Code pizzas that we tried were great. The pizzas were a little soft, but that's likely because we had them after almost 30-40 mins. Better soft than tough/chewy TBH. Pro-tip: get their hot chili oil - it gives just the right amount of kick to the pizzas. The service was quick, and they also gave us some plates to go when we said we were doing a picnic in the park - that was really nice of them. Looks like they have some good rye-based cocktails. I'll keep that for next time. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I'm baffled by the reviews here. I came in for dinner and even with a pretty packed house, we were seated right away. The place felt super home-y and cozy and loved the decor. My friend and I ordered the arugula salad to share and also a special pizza which happened to be a butternut squash, cranberry red onion, and lemony shaved Brussels sprouts pizza. All the food came out relatively fast. I was starving and expecting to have to wait with how may people were there. The salad was so delicious the cheeses on the salad pair perfectly with the just slightly sweet vinegar-y dressing. The pizza was very well made- you can taste the quality of the dough Soft but also crispy and thin. I will say the bottom was a touch burnt but I still really enjoyed the pizza. Also loved that there was chili oil on the table. After two friends separately highly recommended this place, I'm so glad I go to try it finally and can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The wife wanted to hang out in Los Gatos last Sunday so we walked around for a while and did some window shopping. She had heard about Oak and Rye and wanted to check it out. So we killed time until they opened for dinner at 5pm. The place looked pretty small from the entrance but it looks like there are more seating areas to the left of where you enter. But we wanted to sit at the bar anyway, so that's where we went. Bar was open so we bellied up and got our menus. We weren't really ready for a full-on dinner so we ended up splitting a pizza and a salad. This ended up being pretty much the perfect amount of food and certainly could have served as a dinner for 2 people. The Arugula salad was very good. It was well-dressed and a large size. The pizza we shared was the Scotty 2 Hottie, (throwback to the old WWF wrestling tag team). The pizza was good but not amazing. Since going to Italy last year and starting to make pizza dough and pizza at home, I guess we've kind of become pizza snobs. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good. It just didn't blow us away. But the stand out part of our experience was the bartender, Austin. He was very friendly and informative. I spoke to him about how I was recently laid off from my job and had long thought about getting into bartending. He told me how he got started. So we had a few drinks, a glass of wine with the pizza and I got an Amaro flight after dinner. Austin was very helpful with making suggestions. Overall, the experience at Oak and Rye was very good and we would certainly come back.

Yelp
We dined here for the first time last night with my dad. The service was excellent. We had an estimated wait time of 30-45 min but got seated in 20 which was amazing (we arrived at 7:30pm)! The staff was great and the food came out so quick despite how busy they were. The food was alright i wouldn't say it was the best but the vibes made up for it. They have primarily vegetarian pizza options We are still happy we tried it!

Yelp
Made an RSVP for a Saturday night for an indoor table. Took just a few minutes to get seated. For starters the three of us shared the arugula salad which we enjoyed. Of the two pizzas we ordered we preferred the Konami Code over the Jack Burton. As a Baby Boomer I appreciated the album cover decor. Beers on tap were good . TIP : by chance we sat at table # 9 which is right in front of the pizza. It was fun watching the pizza making and baking action .

Yelp
Ridiculous: automatic 18% tip added to takeout order without informing the customer ahead of time until seeing the bill. No thanks. Greedy restaurant only interested in ripping off their customers. Will not visit again

Yelp
Had lunch at Oak & Rye with a few coworkers, and it was an incredible experience! We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and every single one was absolutely delicious. The brussels sprouts were a standout - thinly sliced and flavorful. The arugula salad was one of the best I've ever had, so fresh and well-balanced with an amazing dressing. The spicy honey pizza was a 10 out 10! Amazing flavors all around. The quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere made it a lunch to remember. Drinks were also well-made. Highly recommend! 1 Pretzel $12.00 1 Arugula $14.00 1 Shaved Brussels Sprouts $14.00 1 Seared Broccoli Rabe $14.00 1 Arancini $18.00 1 Konami Code $25.00 2 Scotty 2 Hottie $60.00 2 Wild and Untamed Thing $32.00 2 Arnold Palmer $6.00 1 Diet Coke $2.00 1 Glass 1 Not An Espresso Martini $16.00

Yelp
Solid place for pizza. MUST GET Scottie 2 hottie. Perfect balance of sopressta with honey and other goodness. A family member recommended this and it didn't disappoint. Get one to share so you can have it hot. Big difference when you are eating these pizzas hot vs cold SOLID Jack Burton pizza - a lot of arugula if you are an arugula lover Chocolate pudding dessert - nice and rich Oyster mushroom - succulent and flavorful Arugula salad - could use a bit more Parmesan. Again, a lot of arugula. We also got 2 bottles of etna rosso wine, which was excellent.

Yelp
May be one of my new fav pizza places. Discovered this via some friends and made a fun evening out of it. They have the option for reservations so it was incredible that we could reserve a table from before. It was pretty busy inside and we got seated right away. Kids loved the margarita pizzas and we tried the truffle one and another veg one (I am forgetting the name) they were both cooked to perfection and tasted super fun. We also got the potatoes app and was yum with the dip. The ambiance was chill and a great place to bring family and friends. Pls make reservations!! Definitely coming here back again as this is going to be a go to pizza place for our family! They do have other stuff other than pizza

Yelp
Decent spot for a yummy drink. Came here bc soda works was closed and was a bit impressed! Super family friendly. Not a date night spot at all. Food options are few. Pizza is the menu. Or this pretzel which was great. The service was perfection. Maria is a gem and super genuine and down to earth.

Yelp
The service is horrible. The receptionist, older middle aged lady, was rude and pretentious. I had reservation, which I had to put credit card down to reserve. I walked in on time and the receptionist at front desk walked away and disappeared for like 4 minutes. I was left literally standing there. Then when she got back she didn't say a word, not a "sorry for wait" "how can I help you". Instead I said does anyone work here? She took offense to that comment and said to me we don't have to serve you. Really? For a middle aged woman her customer service skills are horrible and her demeanor is even worse. The food there is just ok and service is slow based on past experience. I don't recommend this restaurant.

M. B.

Yelp
Sat inside at a table with uncomfortable stools. Waitstaff was nice, however we waited a while for our drinks. The menu lacked options. Pizza was tasty with the exception of the underside of the crust being extremely burnt making it inedible.

Yelp
I took my mom out to this place and she rarely gets out so I was hoping this would be a good experience for her. After asking if we can get our salad before our meal we got everything at once. I've never had pizza from wood burning so doughy and bland. It was almost like eating dough. My mom had the risotto balls and they were cold and bland. The only thing that was good was the salad. So disappointed and bummed that my mom, who rarely gets out had to experience this.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in town. Brussels sprouts salad is one of my faves... I like that they have a delicious variety of cooked veggie sides....and the chef does something special to the pizza dough... to make it more satisfying. Bathroom is a flashback to the 80s. Go Cats meow

Yelp
Came here on a late Friday night to celebrate a friends birthday. Had great service the moment we walked in. Started off at the bar while we waited for a table to be available to us. The cocktails were interesting, and made really well. Once we were seating we ordered some pizzas. They didn't have your usual pizzas they had some interesting ones. I don't remember the exact names of the pizzas we got, but I enjoyed the dough and the topping, and the sauce. I'd check this place out if you want some pizza. Next time I come I''d like to try other things on their menu.

Olivia C.

Yelp
This is such a fun and cute spot! Everyone who works here is so fun and kind, and I love that there's a decent amount of spaces to sit. There are two bathrooms, which is amazing for the space. And one of the bathrooms has a REALLY good themed setup. My only complaint is that there aren't options for some of the more generic pizzas and the pizzas themselves are overpriced a bit. We had a pepperoni loving kid in our group but none of the pizzas really fit the bill. I was surprised to see that such a popular topping wasn't available.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Best pizza in town. A can't miss spot!!! Great for groups, events, casual + a fun date night out.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try oak & rye for a while now and sadly, I was really disappointed with the food. The pizza dough is made from a sourdough starter and the wood oven they cook it in is way too hot. The pizza on the bottom was charred but the top was still raw in some areas. Which didn't taste good at all. There were also very little toppings on it. We also ordered the chicken wings, and again, I was really disappointed. It was mainly just fried chicken with the sauce on the side. It was greasy and I didn't like the texture of the breading. I'm used to wings being coated in the sauce and then you choose dipping sauce. The service was good, everyone was friendly and we were seated quickly. The bathroom is really interesting with old VHS movies stacked in there with a little tv. That's a first for me to see in a restroom! It's a cute restaurant but I wouldn't eat there again.

Yelp
Favorite pizza - yet service is SO BAD 90% of the time. The hostess was clearly miserable today. Ordered pizza to go, came in at 5:15 for pick up. Asked to sit outside (no one in the restaurant) the hostess couldn't be more rude. We couldn't be more polite. So off putting. Pizza has always been amazing, but the service ruins it. The older red headed women really needs to transition if you are that unhappy in a customer service role. Opted to leave after the interaction. Ridiculous that she still receives a tip automatically.

John T.

Yelp
Only went here because of new amex plat credits (if you know you know). I don't know, guys. No one in our party liked the pizza. I think the crust should have been crispy instead of soft but I'm no pizza expert by any means. To me Dominos Philly Cheese Steak pizza beats any of these pizzas. Which is kind of sad given the price difference. I love Dominos Philly Cheese Steak! Again, not an expert, just my personal opinion. Maybe I'm stupid and don't understand these fancy pizzas.
google avatar

Tami S.

Yelp
They have some incredibly creative pizzas which taste amazing. Try them all. The restaurant is pretty small but we were seated eventually even without making a reservation.

MaryN K.

Yelp
It is highly unprofessional for a restaurant owner to present a menu like this. Perhaps it would be better to focus on making pizza and leave politics to the politicians. This comes across as quite disrespectful to some customers. It's unbelievable how far some people will go to push their opinions onto others. We chose to leave and dine elsewhere. Also, while waiting for our table, we noticed one customer had her dog with her. I have no problem with that, I'm a dog owner and love animals. However, every server walking by was petting the dog and then immediately going back to serve food. That was a bit concerning, as it didn't seem like they were washing their hands in between. Probably not, and that was kind of off-putting.

Yu S.

Yelp
The manager should be supervised by the owner on how to handle customer complaints. I complained because there was something like hair in my mouth, and the manager said, "Oh! That's from the brush." Then she brought a trash bin close and between the table and me and made me throw it away myself. That was it--she didn't even say sorry.

Richard R.

Yelp
Ordered take out. 3 pizzas, Cesar salad and a pretzel. Nearly $120. In my opinion overpriced for what you get. The pizzas are small with blackened edges that are inedible. The salad was nothing special and expensive. The pretzel was not cooked in the center. Will I go back to Oak & Rye? No

Anon P.

Yelp
Love the pizza, salads, roasted potatoes, wings and kale. We tend to have the same order and have been trying to mix it up a bit. The pizzas are amongst the best in the Bay Area; lively sourdough crust, just the right amount of toppings and interesting combinations. Service is usually quite good. Something's could be better though: - Brussels salad can be overly tart at times - desserts were awful - chocolate pudding had some goopy creamy mess and peanuts on top which simply detracted from the taste - strawberry pannacotta was so overly sweet, it was inedible I've also ordered pasta to go and the portions are stingy. They tend to also add gratuity to a to go order which is annoying.

Jolie L.

Yelp
The place is vintage and feels very family friendly. We went at the end of the night so the service was really fast and the people were really nice. The Gnocchi sauce was amazing and the pasta overall was delicious. I am definitely coming back.

Yelp
This place still adds mandatory tip, which is illegal in California? As of July 1 2024, Senate Bill 478 California law prohibits restaurants from charging hidden charges also called "junk" fees. As part of the bill's legislation, prices for goods and services must include all fees the consumer is required to pay. "For example, if a Rosso pizza is $19 and a restaurant charges a 18% service charge, the pizza would have to be listed as $22.42 in the menu". That's the law, not an option. As you can see in the attached, the menu still show $19, not $22,42. Read more at: https://www.sacbee.com/news/california/article288492591.html Even after I took the time to explain the new law to the manager, he didn't seem to care. The answer was "we automatically charge 18%" on all takeouts. Period! Quality of food has drastically decline over the years as well.

Yelp
We had a nice lunch here with our dog, Zoey, on their front patio. They are primarily a pizza place; their pizza's have unusual ingredients. The food seems to be high quality ingredients, so it is rather pricey, but not too bad. I had the gnocchi, with vegetables in a garlic sauce with a bit of pesto. It was pretty good. My husband had the margarita pizza, and it was delicious. The end of the crust is quite puffy, which the inside is very thin; it is a soft doughy crust, despite the burnt areas at the edges. The most memorable dish, though, was the roasted beets, which came with Stracciatella cheese, pine nuts, and a bit of pesto; it was excellent! I had a Diet Coke, which came in a 12 oz can. Zoey had a bowl of water and got to taste a bite or two of pizza.

Yelp
Came here for a late dinner on a Thursday evening and had a short wait to get seated. It was a chilly night so it looked like they were only doing indoor dining at this point. We ordered the Brussels sprout salad, 5 Boroughs pizza, and a carafe of wine. The pizza was a good size - not huge but with the size of the salad this was good amount of food for two. At the suggestion of our waiter, after telling him what we were looking for in a wine, we ordered the barbera, and it was fantastic. The salad was refreshing with some nice flavor from all the parmesean and black pepper. The pizza was good - but really spicy for my weak tastebuds, had to drink lots of water to soothe the burn in my mouth. Menu was pretty big offering what looked like close to 15 pizzas, quite a few small plates and apps, and a separate daily specials menu. Would be a great place to come as a group so you can try a little bit of everything! Food came out quick and service was attentive. Place had a cool sort of rock n' roll speakeasy vibe. Plan to come back again - and order a pizza that doesn't require a fire extinguisher for my mouth!

Yelp
Great host/manager. Pretty good food (ordered sliced brussel sprouts, chicken wings, gnocchi + sausage, goomba, margarita). Service lacked. We told the server no chilis for the gnocchi because it was for the kids but we still end up finding some chilis; therefore, the kids were spiced out gulping water. We ran out of water and had flagged our server for water. After some more time, still no water in sight despite kids drinking up all the water at the table. We ordered a margarita since they couldn't eat the gnocchi or the goomba. At this point, my daughter was scrapping the last drop of water from her cup. Given that we sat close to the bar, we brought our emptied bottle to the bar and got another. True, we should have had more patience with the server and asked again, but at this point, the server rolled her eyes at us. It was obvious that she started to talk to the bartender about us with their backs to us. We were THAT close to the bar. While still waiting for our margarita, she slaps the check onto our table "Here's your check after the margarita." She didn't bring over our margarita pizza at all. The manager/host did after checking on us. Been here, tried it, probably won't be back here given the service we received. Thanks!

Yelp
The food, the cocktails and the service here are all top-notch. A New York vibe (Roberta's!) smack in the middle of Los Gatos. I usually start off with the chicken liver mousse or their soft pretzel. If you love pizza, check out the Scottie 2 Hottie or the 5 Boroughs. I think if I lived in LG, I'd be going here weekly.

Yelp
We felt completely discriminated against by the host. My friend and I went there on a Friday night and were told the wait time was 1.5 hours. We were tired, so we decided to order takeout instead. While waiting, we noticed that many other guests were also being told the same wait time. Then a couple walked in. At that moment, a large table--big enough for about 10 people--was being cleaned. Despite telling everyone else there was a long wait, the host offered this couple the large table. They accepted and were seated right away. Out of curiosity, I approached the couple and asked how long they had waited. The man said they had just walked in. I then went back to the host and asked if we could sit at the same large table, since it clearly had room for more. She refused. When I pointed out that the couple had just arrived, she insisted--looking me straight in the eye--that they had been waiting. It was an outright lie. Why treat people this way? I have never experienced anything like this before. Please be honest. Please be ethical.

Yelp
We were going to book a reservation because my husband teaches and the kids got him a gift card. This was the first time coming here. online everything looked open for reservations for 530, So we decided to just walk in. We arrived @ 530pm, the place was empty, literally, maybe like 8-10 ppl. The red head lady at the front says "sorry we are booked, if i sit you down right now you only have 30minutes to eat and then you have to leave'. What?! So your going to throw me out after 30min? It's empty! She said sorry we are booked and people will start to arrive in 30min. What?, like how many because it empty. She said yah sorry. I will never eat here! Don't waste your money on this place! We walked up to Ándale and they were super nice and welcoming! I've never been to a restaurant where no matter how busy they are, they have you sign in and ask you to wait 30-45, which im okay with but for her to throw us basically out? Terrible customer service!

Yelp
I eat pizza probably 2-3X per month, I also make my own. It's a rare occasion where the pizza rivals a meal at a fine restaurant, but occasionally they do, and I call this a pizzagasm experience. My daughter is a foodie and took us to Oak and Rye while visiting from out of town. We had a 45 minute wait, but spent the wait having a glass of beer down the block. When it came time to eat, we sat at a nice long high table. The vibe is unpretentious california chill. Our server was very pleasant, smiley and friendly. Whenever I have a pizza the first time at a joint, I always order a basic pepperoni so to judge its quality without some over powering ingredient dominating the taste. So I ordered the 5 Burroughs in that vain. Our pizzas came out quickly and piping hot. The crust had just the right amount of char. Upon the first bite I was in heaven. The crust was perfectly chewy, the sauce had the right tang, the cheese was melted perfectly and the meat was very flavorful. There was no sogginess to any slice. Our server confirmed that the crust was sourdough based and it had just the ring amount of zing to complement the other flavors. I was so impressed by this pizza. My daughter and her boyfriend had the pizza with pepperoni and some basil and honey (Sticky Stan?) added and it was fantastic as well. Over the past 5 years I've had many pizzas. Only 3 experiences reached pizzagasm status (one in Bellingham, WA, one in Brooklyn, NY and one in Rome, Italy) and I'm super happy to say that Oak and Rye made it number 4. I highly recommend this pizza and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We visited here on a weeknight and it was pretty packed. We were craving some wood fired pizzas and the vibe and ambience of this place from the outdoors stood out as we were in the neighborhood for another event. Once we entered we put down our name in the waitlist. We waited for about 15 mins before we got our table. The chairs were a bit old and we were seated close to the wood fire so it was a bit hot. We ordered just one pizza, the Konami code as the prices were a bit steep in my opinion for the size. The waiter did tell us that he would order one more item , we thought that was unnecessary given price point and he dint seem too happy about it while taking the order (which I thighs was uncalled for) The pizza was delicious so I give them 3 stars for that for sure, however I'm not sure if i will return given mandatory service charges, $28 small pizza and tip, waiter attitude and bellies not full. I had to go home and grab a sandwich!

Yelp
Good pie, but kinda soft. I prefer a more crisp to the crust. The burn and look of their pie is A+ although the crisp is lacking. I would say their pie flavor is about an eight point four, but if they could bring more crisp, the flavors would land in the nines. Good beers, but a lot were tapped out or they were out. Overall definitly worth the higher end price for a pie, and cool shirts to buy.

Yelp
It took a half hour to receive a second glass of wine; then we were booted out of our table (...wine unfinished...) because we apparently reached a previously-unmentioned two-hour table time limit. Also, $190 for 3 pizzas and 4 glasses of wine is gouging. We won't be back for a while, if ever.

Yelp
I came as a party of 2 kind of close to closing on a Friday (oops) and the staff graciously welcomed us. HIGHLY recommend the gnocchi, as our waitress recommended! We thought it was a rather small portion at first, but the dish ended up being really rich and good for sharing between two people. It was garlicky, pesto-y, and had bits of squash and some sort of greens, and it all came together nicely. We also got the Konami Code pizza which was solid, but the gnocchi definitely won here. For a side, we got the broccolini which was so nicely cooked, super flavorful and amazing with the citrus. We also enjoyed the Return of the Martian cocktail. The restaurant is great for a date night in downtown Los Gatos. There's album art all over the walls which would be great talking points.

Yelp
Unique is the word I'll use for this gem of a pizza restaurant. They do things different. This place is in the heart of Downtown Los Gatos. I had high hopes after reading the reviews & It didn't disappoint. Very casual dining experience with dimmed lighting to ease the eyes. Full bar with about 10 specialty drinks and a ton of wine to choose from. The starters (pretzel & broccolini) were so fresh and tasty! The pizza was fluffy, crunchy and delicious. I highly recommend using the hot oil spice they have on the table as it has kick and adds taste! Very unique. Overall, I was not expecting such a great experience and my stomach thanked me. Thanks Oak & Rye, I'll be back!

Yelp
We were looking for a place for a late lunch in Los Gatos and spotted Oak & Rye, which had a pretty little patio space and great looking pizzas. SO glad that we did - we got a table in the upper level of the patio - super private since we were the only ones on this level - and service was attentive and excellent! We ordered the fried potatoes and oyster mushrooms for appetizers. For pizzas, we had the truffle shuffle, the Jack Burton and the margherita - for the four of us. We ended up having about a half pizza leftover and they were all fantastic! Wood fired pizza oven, really great and fresh flavors. Also ordered some black coffee since I didn't have coffee and it was actually good. Sometimes brewed coffee is not the best idea to try at a non-coffee place but this was good. Oh yes and make sure you stop at the bathrooms because they have the craziest one-room bathroom that has a TV set up with a VCR and a huge stack of videos to choose from! I had to take a picture. I'd come back here again - overall, really great lunch spot, good and quick service.

Yelp
It's 2024 and Oak and Rye has got its mojo back! We went last night and the atmosphere was buzzing, the staff were awesome and food was 100% on point! I heard the manager changed recently and it really shows, the staff really go the extra mile and I'm loving the new food items, especially the brunch items where they're making some adventurous things like Ramen, my personal favorite is the Lyonnaise salad - super yummy!

Yelp
Pizza was good. But for almost 35 dollars per pizza (mandatory 18 percent gratuity included) seems a bit insane
