"You gotta respect Oak Park Social for serving as the city’s first gastropub and activating a space on 11 Mile. Enjoy snacks like soft pretzels with cheese dip, a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and flatbreads, and entrees like penne rigate with Italian sausage. To drink, there’s a handful of seasonal cocktails, as well as local beers available in the bottle, can, or draft. The spot is also open for lunch and regularly features specials." - Serena Maria Daniels

immediately yes drinks were standard. you’ll need a few to get drunk but the customer service and that Cajun chicken wrap gets the job done every time. I even came back the next day and tried their Alfredo pasta. It could definitely use some seasoning but just for a standard pasta, it’s good. The customer service was great both times I went. Absolutely no complaints there. I would love to add this place to my rotation. I’m sure it’s even better in the summer.

I just discovered this spot, as it’s kinda tucked away in Oak Park. The cocktails are on point and the food is really good. The pastrami chimis (egg rolls) are fire. I’m obsessed with finding the best Caesar salad in the area, and this one might take the cake! Servers were really nice and attentive. The only thing - I wish there were more food options that were not fried. We wanted to order one more thing but decided not to because they all sounded fried and heavy.

I visited Oak Park Social for lunch on a Friday with 2 coworkers and sat at the bar. The bar/restaurant has a fun atmosphere with lots of goofy electronic equipment on the walls and even a robot that looks like Johnny Number 5. The Cajun chicken wrap with Cajun fries was delicious. The service was great as well!

Hidden gem!! Our server was great! The food was amazing! Coo atmosphere.

Arrived at 6pm on a Thursday place was completely empty. I ordered brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Others in the party ordered cheeseburger and fries and fish and chips. For no one to be there, I expected my food to come out piping hot. It wasn’t. Not only that, somehow what we ordered couldn’t be timed to come out together. It’s rude to eat before everyone has their food. So my already warm food was even less warm. Definitely underwhelmed and disappointed. Reviews are strictly based on opinions of varying palettes. I’d compare this place to Coney Island. So there you have it! The food wasn’t worth photographing, however, the gross glass was.

I absolutely love it here! The food is great, and so are the staff members. EVERYONE that I've encountered on my several visits have been nothing short of excellent. Customer service, menu suggestions, staff, and of course the food is great! The cook even comes out to check to see how you're enjoying your meal. 10 outta 10 for sure EVERYTIME! They even have a happy hour Mon - Fri 11am - 4pm where all handhelds are $10 and you get fries too! I recommend you check them out, you will not be disappointed 😃

This guy really knows how to decorate with some cool stuff. This isn’t exactly around the corner for me, but I will definitely come back. I ordered the Piedmontese burger. Very good choice. Darby was excellent! The other bartender was great too. I apologize, I forgot his name.

Google
My experience at Oak Park Social was not just good, but a time that I will look back on. The service was extremely speedy, and the staff’s kindness reached passed my expectations. Not only did the atmosphere make me feel welcomed, but the food was amazing. After looking through the menu, I decided on getting the Italian Sausage Penne, which was rich in flavor, and exceedingly delicious. My experience was truly fantastic, and I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Had lunch here today and it was fantastic. Drinks were tasty and well priced. Food was delicious. Had the fried cheese curds and the patty melt. Both delicious. Easily accessible for wheelchair users. And good bathroom accessibility. The only down side was it was COLD inside.

Yelp
The food was great, service was personable . Walking in , you know you'll be comfortable.

Yelp
Came here twice over the weekend with friends. They have my favorite beer on tap (51k ipa) the service is great and the employees are incredibly nice. On Saturday they had a DJ and he was awesome played all the old school hits. I didn't eat here this weekend but I have before and the food is very good. Great outdoor seating options. Please check this place out

Yelp
Ribs: tiny slab, burnt, very little meat barely edible. Brussel sprouts: boiled cut in half and nothing like the picture - awful. French fries: little tiny bits an inch 1/2 long - bad bad bad. Wow. How does this place stay in business? What a shame. -J.J.

Yelp
Park in the back. Keep in mind the 248 number on Yelp isn't correct. Their website has 313-572-0820. The smell of roasted Brussel sprouts hits your nose as soon as you walk through the back door. Dark interior decor. All of the gadgets, robots and framed electronics all over are fun. Stephanie is waiting on us. Menu is online, still order with your waitstaff. Ordered Brussels sprouts, fried pickles, Cajun chicken wrap with fries (they are out of onion rings) and a kale salad with blackened salmon. $58.63. The fried pickle chips have a thicker breading, nice and crunchy. The thicker breading makes it bit denser to me. The fried pickles taste better on their own. A creamy jalapeño dip would make this app next level better and a lighter batter too. The Brussels sprouts are nicely roasted, but the soy sauce is an odd combination and doesn't do it for me, it's better by itself. A balsamic glaze would he better for sure, luckily they had a side of it for us. The owner came from behind me (totally startled me) and announced to me that I am yelping already. He said to me that he noticed I was giving him a 3 Yelp. He asked me how he could make it better. I told him it's a draft and all places start at a 3 and either move up or down based on the experience. He asked if there was anything we needed. I asked him for more dip for the fried pickles since the small dipping sauce ramekin is far too small for the amount of fried pickle chips on the order. I also asked for balsamic dressing for the Brussels sprouts. He said it comes with a soy sauce dip. I said it doesn't go well with the Brussel sprouts for me. The chicken wrap was okay, had nice big chunks of chicken in it, but it didn't have much flavor at all. The fries are crispy and slightly salty and thin, they are good. The kale Caesar with the blackened salmon was so-so. The salmon is nicely cooked. The kale is chopped decently, but there's a lot of veins that were not edible to me. I would have liked it better with less veins, which at times were as thick as twigs. Stephanie and the other staffer that seated us and brought water and more dips took good care of us.

Yelp
Went during what appeared to be a business function so there were quite a few people there, making it very loud. The acoustics are not conducive to normal conversation volumes. I had the pork shank, which I didn't care for, but it was my first time having it so maybe it's just my tastebuds. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were great! Good beer selections too. My complaints are based on my preferences, hence the 4 stars. No need to penalize a place just because it's not to my taste. I took off the one star just because it was so loud.

Yelp
Came for dinner the night we got into town . The parking was pretty bad , but we found a spot around back . The poutine was decent but is with shoe strong fries as advertised , so was shocked . The fish and chips were a little pricey for 3 pieces of fish . It was good, but wouldn't get it again due to price . The rest of the table really enjoyed their food . The outside seating is great , and the inside vibe is cool and almost steampunkish. Only downside is the waiter was the only person there running the bar and taking orders from tables . He did a great job . Hopefully they can get more supporting staff.

Yelp
I decided to visit, Oak Park Social, this past Saturday, May 18th, in Oak Park, MI; on 11 Mile Road, east of Greenfield Road, to view The Preakness Stakes, have a meal and a few "High-balls" (when was the last time you heard this phrase). I had my first visit there, two weeks prior, with a partner and it was cool, so let's do it again. I was wonderfully greeted and waited on by Morgan, whom I asked, if the pony race could be placed on one of the TV's. She stated yes, give her a few minutes; she was running around with orders for tables etcetera. While she engaged with those chores, a stocky, red-bearded dude entered the bar area, who made me drinks, on my last visit. He was occupied with tasks, in the cash register/Main TV area, which are less than 3.5 feet apart, with the TV Remote, on a shelf, underneath the TV. After several minutes he moved my way and I asked him, if he could turn on The Preakness Stakes; "It's on NBC". He proceeded to state: 'I don't think we have that channel' and other useless babble, and then, in an ignorantly arrogant manner, he stated; 'Doing that is not priority'. He then foolishly asked me; "If I wanted a drink"? Which I replied; "No, I came here to watch the horse race and have a drink, not just have a drink". At that point he moved on. Something else may have been said, but he already exposed his unprofessionalism and the damage was done. Soon after Morgan returned; stated, 'Let me get the TV on"; brought the cook, Ronnie, from the back to turn on the bar TV, while eric, had re-stationed himself, back in the bar area between the register and the bar TV. As I watched the race's Horses Parade proceedings, along, now, with several others, who left tables and joined me, standing around the bar, observing the Preakness proceedings, 15 people-ish, eric turned around, looked most surprised at the gathered crowd, looked at me and asked me dumbfounded, would I like a drink, which I said again, 'no, baby girl is addressing that'. I know good help is hard to find; is eric good help?!? He lie's pretty good; 'I don't think we have that channel', that was a Bald-Face Lie , if there ever was one! They were not crowded; maybe 60% capacity, including both outdoor areas. They may have been understaffed, with only, he and Morgan; that does not excuse eric's below standard, unprofessional, sophomoric behavior. I also sent a communique to their email, "contact@oakparksocial.com"; On Sunday, and to no avail, I have not received a return response, from our neighbors at Oak Park Social. Apparently, eric isn't the exception, but the rule! Visit Oak Park Social; at your own risk!! As there are way too many equal or better, Greasy Spoons, locally, with higher food and service standards than Oak Park Social, you may wanna try your luck, at one of them; Oak Park Social receives the Mud Michelin, for eric's quality of customer care and service! Morgan was wonderful and hardest of working; this review, is in no manner, a reflection on her or her service!!

Yelp
I was meeting someone in the area and decided to try something new. I normally would hang out at the breweries in the area, but decided to come here instead. I was fortunate to get the last available seat at the bar. Turned out I was sitting next to the owner. We chatted a bit. He was really nice and it was great to hear about the business's vision. The two bartenders did a fantastic job keeping up. It was quite busy for a Thursday night as there was a cycling club that comes in every Thursday. So fun! I ordered an old fashioned and then followed that up with a couple of beers. We were headed to the Haunted Tavern in Hamtramck, so I didn't want to get too boozy since there are cocktails provided there too. I killed sometime and met up with them and was off for a night of fun. I didn't eat, but the food looked and smelled delicious. Next time you're in the area, come and check it out.

Yelp
Ambiance -- cool vibe, feels like grunge mixed with the robotics club hang out. However, too cold. The chairs are metal and there was no heat on during a 40 degree day and their dining area has garage doors. All the guests were wearing Winter coats and scarves. It's also rather dark inside the dining area -- I wouldn't recommend for folks with visual impairments. Service -- very friendly and hard working. Food -- We ordered hot tea, which they said they didn't have, so I asked for hot water and they said they'd have to make hot water, which would take 20 minutes. It did come, with lemon slices and was hot! The only menu is for their online ordering system and you have to click that you're doing a takeout order in order to view the menu -- it feels like they're main target market is not the dine-in clients. Most customers required assistance to even look at the menu. I ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich, which was okay -- came with bacon, bread, chicken, lettuce, and tomato-- that's it. Definitely wouldn't come back for another and didn't finish what I had. My mom ordered Vegetable Penne Rigate. It came covered in pepper flakes. Like each bite would have 4 pepper flakes -- they remade it for her. The second version was okay -- could have used anything to make it memorable. Bathrooms-- only went into the ladies. Handicapped friendly. Not the cleanest, but they work. If you're looking for a place to chill and watch the game -- I'm sure this is the place! But, it definitely has potential to become more than that!

Yelp
Save your money. Servings were small and food not well prepared or tasty. We had a large group and nearly all were in agreement not to return.

Yelp
Some friends wanted to go for their first time. We ate on this trip. Staff was friendly, food was great (we had a number of items). Beer selection as small but quality. Cocktails again were no good.

Mark S.

Yelp
Went to OPS last week and it was terrific. I had the chicken fried chicken. The chicken was crunchy and delicious. The mashed potatoes were some of the best that I've had in a long time. Service was great and the atmosphere is garage chic. The only downside was the restaurant was very cold inside.

Moe S.

Yelp
beware!!!!!! overcharge!!! added a 45% tip to my card!! cannot call to speak with manager as the answering service only offers to send you texts with information.

CJ M.

Yelp
Cool spot with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is great and friendly. The food was just okay, nothing to write home about. This is a great hangout spot, not sure I would come here for dinner. The menu is HORRIBLE to obtain. You have to treat it like an online order to even view it. There are not paper options. Also, most of the items online aren't offered during sit down... so that was annoying. I hope they get it together as the decor and staff make this a must visit. The food and operations need some love!

Caroline B.

Yelp
Went in on a Saturday night. There was no wait. we sat at the bar. Service was great and fast. Food was just okay. I ordered a kale Caesar salad with chicken, my fiancé ordered the cheese burger with fries. My kale was very very tough, the cook should have massaged the kale to loosen the fibers before tossing with dressing. Usually caesar salads come with croutons, this salad did not have them. The chicken was the only thing that saved the salad. My fiancé said the burger was just okay. The french fries, seasoned with old bay(one of three options for ff seasoning) were the best prt of the meal. We live about 30 minutes away and wont make the trip to eat here.

Yelp
You can tell this place opened up a little over a month ago so I won't harp on them too bad but the service needs work. I went last night for a party of 6 there was only one server and I felt like she basically gave up half way through serving us since we never saw her again and the owner was serving us all of sudden. I feel like this place has the potential to be something great they just need way more servers. I got the Italian penne pasta and it was really good! And the bread was nice and buttery and garlicky. They also need to get some fruit juices in there for drinks! I love margaritas but having no fruit juices or Mixes for anything was kinda crazy to me.

Tina G.

Yelp
Recently stopped in for a quick dinner on a date night. There weren't many people - it was early and mid-week, which kept it pretty chill. The food was super good - the fried brussel sprouts were totally addictive and the fried pickles were clumpy, but so good. My impossible burger was done perfectly and the toasted bun totally elevated my experience. Drinks were great - we loved the selection and were both able to try a few new things that have become new favorites. Also, random, but the music choices were totally on point with my vibe and I was really impressed over all. Can't wait to go back!

Chelsey S.

Yelp
Oak Park Social is an ABSOLUTE HIDDEN GEM on 11 mile!! The food is phenomenal and the cocktails are perfection I suggest the Grilled Chicken Club with Cajun fries or any of the pastas! Alex the owner is such a great person and always generous to all the patrons. I highly suggest stopping in for happy hour for some great deals. The service IS TOP NOTCH! Everyone works super hard and as a team to make all of us customers happy! ABOVE & BEYOND! TYSM OPS

Varun S.

Yelp
A cute little place in Oak Park!! The salad was good, the fries were amazing and the staff was super friendly! Will likely be back again!!

Celeste H.

Yelp
Probably my favorite bar in the Ferndale/Royal Oak area. Great service and drinks, and loved the atmosphere and decor! Would definitely recommend checking it out. We didn't try the food (yet), but will be back - looked good!

Yelp
Oak Park Social... I wanted to like you, I wanted to love you, but in the end it's you, not me. We live just down the street from Oak Park Social and have been there 5 times now. I'll start with the good: nice beer menu, they have rotating cans and bottles which makes it fun to order new beers that you've never tried. Overall, the food isn't bad! And by not bad I mean I feel it's appropriately priced for comparable places in the area and I would have LOVED for this to be our "go-to spot." We tried and tried, but in the end it's the service, or lack thereof, that will keep us from ever coming back here. The first time I came into OPS, I noticed there is a very strange service system where a lot of the time the bartender is also the only server on. So if you don't sit at the bar, you are subjected to whenever the full time bar tender gets the time to actually come out into the dining area and provide service. I thought that this was maybe a one time thing or that they were short staffed, but over the next several times we came we realized this is the norm, not the exception. It actually became a running joke for us that we'll go to OPS, but only if we get a table close to the bar so we can actually get some service. The prior reviews are accurate, the bartenders are super friendly and nice but they rarely venture from the bar area to tend to other customers. Tonight was the final straw. We went to OPS, joking about needing to sit somewhere within eyesight of the bar as we walked in. To our surprise there were 3 waitstaff, which is the most I've ever seen working at a single time. We sat within eyesight of the bar and there were only 3 tables in the main dining area that had patrons, including ours. We got our app order and drink order in and then it was like we absolutely disappeared for the next 30 minutes. We finished our drinks and appetizer and we actually piled all the dishes in the corner of our table to make it look even more obvious that we needed some service. The entire time we watched all 3 servers hovering around the bar area laughing and talking with the people at the bar. Then, one server started walking our way to deliver two entrees that we didn't order. When she went to set them down, I told her they weren't ours and that we hadn't even ordered yet! Hello!? HINT. She turned away with the food and never came back. The table next to us asked for their checks and the server actually continued serving them water after they paid without even once looking our direction! I finally yelled "excuse me!" And then asked for the check. We were so upset, we didn't even order mains or another round of drinks. We went next door to Dog & Pony Show and had some great food from a food truck and ordered beers inside. I've literally never experienced anything like what I experienced tonight at OPS and we will never give this establishment another cent. In total we spent over an hour tonight in OPS and a server came to our table 3 times... including the time they were bringing us an order that wasn't ours. Absolutely unacceptable.

Saulius M.

Yelp
Great place to kick back with a drink and food. Really like the bar and wait staff. Great local watering hole.

Stacia G.

Yelp
They share Peking with Dog and Pony. Parking was full on this day as event was happening. The restaurant was quiet. I love the funky decor with old objects on wood with metal etc. waitress was friendly and outdoor and indoor seating was available. She was extremely patient with us as we went out and in after deciding it was bright and a wee bit hot. They have beers on tap and in cans as well as a full bar. Their menu is interesting. We had burgers, fish, and Buffalo chicken sandwiches. There was not a lot of food left! Very enjoyable.

Dave L.

Yelp
Went in to have a drink and sat at bar. Never acknowledged at all. No hi, no we'll be right with you, etc. We waited 10 minutes. Walked out. Too bad since we like bringing our dog in the summer. I'll spend my money somewhere else.

Christian M.

Yelp
The food here is awful. I ordered a few things including the brussel sprouts which were extremely salty. But luckily they provided a nice soy dipping sauce that was even saltier. I also ordered the French fries for $9. Yes, $9 for an order of fries. They were quite salty of course. There is nothing interesting or unique about the menu. The restaurant is described at "New American", but there's nothing new about it. The wait staff was very nice. That's why I settled on 2-stars, even though in my heart it's a 1-star restaurant, from a culinary standpoint. Our waitress was very polite and the other servers even tried to assist us. I can't say the same for the rude dunce they allowed to work the "door".. and by door I mean.. the scrub they allowed to sit at the bar and try to catch people walking in without paying the $5 cover. I totally understand having a cover but if a table plans on spending $40+ on dinner the last thing they should have to do is pay a $5 per person cover. The door man was rude and the experience was off putting. In reading other reviews, I found the owner of this place responds defensively to all of their bad google reviews. This is hilarious to me. It's pretty obvious that the delusional owner can't take criticism considering the food and atmosphere is seriously lacking.

K M.

Yelp
Stopped in for a brew one late Friday afternoon recently. Lots of parking available in the back! The place was rockin' on the inside so we chose the shaded outdoor seating located between buildings. Good choice! We ordered off their app (yes, a functional smart phone is needed) which offered a better than average meal menu, as well as their extensive bar beverages. The folks serving the iced water and our beer were way pleasant and efficient. The draft beer was cold and good. Just wish there were more draft options.

Christian H.

Yelp
Back to back rough encounters here. Wanted to give them a second chance but the second time was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. We waited over 20 minutes for anyone to greet us at our table. Had no menu to look at (my phone was dead so I couldn't use the QR code) and the server reluctantly listed 3 items off of the menu before pressuring us to make a decision on the fly. Also - No iced tea, no coffee, no non-alcoholic options whatsoever besides water and pop. Paid $22 for a piece of meat on a bun and was charged $5 extra when I wanted lettuce for my sandwich. It seemed our server totally forgot about us, so we had to walk inside anytime we wanted anything. With their premium prices and mid-tier quality and service, I wouldn't refer this establishment to my worst enemy.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Love. This. Place. We live close by and come often. Consistently great food, excellent service and wonderful people. We have literally tried everything and can honestly say it is one of our favorite places. This is exactly what this neighborhood needed. We come weekly. So great!

Rachel N.

Yelp
Had a nice outdoor seating area with cafe lights. Ordered side of onion rings that were okay, dessert that was not great and one hard seltzer, $$$$$$$$ Expect to pay a lot for average food.

Shelly D.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to stop in at when I'm that side of town. Prices for food are fair and staff is great.

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Atmosphere was really nice, would be a good place to brings friends. Food was better then a standard bar. Staff was nice. May go again but it didn't completely knock my socks off Random comment: I hated the chairs, not the most comfortable and stiff, looks cool and very industrial look and feel. But my butt hurt after an half an hour.

Maya V.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! We got pretzels, the Cajun chicken hoagie, and the buffalo chicken sandwich. All were delicious!

Laurie N.

Yelp
My fiance and I visited this wonderful restaurant for the first time this past Saturday. I live in Oak Park and wanted to try this restaurant for months. I am so glad that we stopped in! Great food, friendly servers, very cool atmosphere and a wonderful DJ! The music was lit! Sure wish they had a dance floor. We had drinks (strong & tasty) and patty melts with fries - delicious! So nice to have such a great little gem right in the neighborhood. We will be returning.

Kayla L.

Yelp
This place won't make it. Food - cold fries and sandwiches were served. I ordered the chicken club for $16. Ranch was extra for .75 and it was a very small side. Others at my table ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. Again sandwich and fries were cold but also VERY salty. The other dish was the Italian sausage penne pasta which was very spicy. Overall my sandwich and fries were fast food quality. Atmosphere/ ambiance - you will be cold sitting in the restaurant. We could see the thermostat set at 59 for our entire meal. When we asked the waitress we were told "oh I thought they fixed it earlier". When we looked around the restaurant we noticed everyone was in jackets and hats lol. Judging from the other reviews I read, this was not a one time occurrence. Drinks - draft beer selection was below average. And cocktails were watered down (too much ice). Spent about $100 for 3 people which is too much to spend for very below average quality. Won't be back.

Kathy L.

Yelp
This restaurant was pretty decent when they first opened and we came here many times but it has gone seriously downhill over the last year and I can honestly say I don't see my husband and I coming back anytime soon! Food was fast food quality at best, overpriced and cold when it was served to us. Fries were extremely salty, also cold, as was the chicken sandwich. Pasta was okay but nothing to rave about. Drinks - boring draft beer selection, mixed drinks were watered down and very expensive. Interior was dark and unwelcoming! Heat was either not working or they had the thermostat set low to save money (it read 58 degrees!). Most every patron in the place had coats and hats on! Spent $100 for a sub-par fast food meal. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!

Theresa H.

Yelp
The chicken wings were delicious and the oak park punch was wonderful!!! The service was fast and the people were very friendly. I had a wonderful time.

Jeanne D.

Yelp
No physical menus. And they will never have them. Bring your phone to submit your order. (Being on your phone with friends to me is not social) . They want you to scan to bring up the menu then send it to then. Uggh. Drank 1 beer and left.

Danielle T.

Yelp
Came here late on a Saturday! Kitchen was still open so we had dinner and a few drinks (they have a HUGE list of both cans and bottle of craft beer). He had the Grilled Salmon and I had the Spinach Salad with Chicken, they were both amazing! I forgot to ask for dressing on the side as they usually put way to much on but it was perfectly dressed! Our waitress was an absolute doll, Full of jokes and humor in a very inviting way! We closed them out and I believe the owner was there with a few buddies and made sure to talk to us and make sure we enjoyed ourselves before we left!

Karen C.

Yelp
Oak Park Social was a surprise to me. Facing 11 mile road with a large parking lot spanning the back of several connected businesses oak park social makes you think of a place you'd like to keep to yourself. There are sandwiches, burgers, salads beer, wine and cocktails. The tomato soup was rich and. Brussels sprouts appetizer was a large size though a bit over cooked/fried to me. The kale Caesar and chicken sandwiches were popular. My Seabreeze cocktail was served in a mason jar and at first I thought it was too light on vodka until I began to feel it. Service was good and though it was a weekday evening it did get fairly busy and we weren't ignored.

Brett S.

Yelp
Great spot, great vibes and a hidden gem. Drinks and food are pretty decent but more about the vibe and the spot

Amaaazing service! If I lived here I would definitely be a return customer. The food and drinks were great! The waitress entered our order wrong with one of our food items, but oddly turned out to be an item I was considering ordering anyway. She got us what we had ordered in the first place and let us enjoy the wrongly ordered item at no charge, which we absolutely enjoyed! Most importantly, she owned the mistake and was super apologetic. Riley! Thank you for the great service! I also wanted and pint glass with the name of the restaurant, but they were all out! She took my info so she can send me one. Great service like this has been lost! I very much appreciate when I find it again! Thank you! You made my night!

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place.... I really did. It's so close to my house in Berkley and in an area on 11 mile that I would love to see built up with businesses instead of vacant buildings. Unfortunately, I think it missed the mark. The food was decent, the fish and chips (I subbed onion rings) were pretty good, large pieces of fish that weren't greasy and large crisp onion rings. They didn't have an onion ring dipping sauce though - but Ketchup works fine so I won't hold that against them. My husband got the cheeseburger and shoe string fries, which was unimpressive - honestly it lacked flavor and was comparable to a fast food burger (with less flavor), the fries were fine. Now I could live with subpar bar food if the vibe was fun and they had good cocktails... but they don't even have a cocktail list/menu! The selection of liquor is very limited - with no local choices (like Valentine or Detroit Whiskey Co - etc). I opted to not even get a drink because I was discouraged by being told there was no cocktail list (they lost money here because I would have had 2-3 had I had something to choose from besides jack and coke). My husband had a jack and coke which came in a rocks glass and tasted flat/watered down (and it was $10 - honestly this isn't the worst price but for being watered down and tiny I'll pass). Finally the vibe on first glance is cool with industrial vibes but it's so cold with the grey cinder block walls and grey concrete floors that still smell like paint fumes. They had TVs but none were on and so it was just silent and smelly. I'm sure the paint fumes will fade over time, but it didn't make for a great experience. I would probably only give it 2 stars but the server was nice and the fish / onion rings were good... plus I'd love for them to make some adjustments and for them to be successful so I'll add one.

Yelp
Ordered takeout - Cheeseburger and the Pork Shank. The Cheeseburger was terrible. It was made from 2 cheap premade patties (think the cheap frozen ones you would get at Costco). For $14 the quality was sub par and I would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the pork shank. The meat was tender and was a good portion. He said he almost got the cheeseburger and is very glad it didn't after seeing mine.

Yelp
The food wasn't good enough to eat and I eat fast food from time to time. Hope to see this improve as oak parks first bar ever! This is where I was born and raised so I know we can do better. I ordered chicken tenders and fries thinking I couldn't go wrong, looked nothing like pictured on Grubhub taste like it was made in old oil, inedible. Looking to support in the future but hopefully to try the spirits no food for me.

Yelp
This place is pretty mediocre. I'm surprised by the current 4 star standing. I had a cheeseburger for $14, added egg & bacon and it totaled $17. It was a pretty standard cheeseburger, nothing terrible but also nothing exceptional. I should've seen the red flags when they didn't list the type of beef and only offered it in "well done". For the price, however, you'd think you were at a one of the higher quality establishments in Detroit. Redcoat charges the same price for their burgers and they are exponentially better. What they lack in food is not made up in ambience either. The inside is fairly cute, but the chairs are cold and cheap metal. Not a huge deal, but again, for the price you're paying you'd be much better off going to a nicer place. If they lowered their price point a few dollars I'd be happy to go back because nothing is bad, it's just not worth what they are charging. Additional side notes: 1) the fries were cold, shriveled, and typical underwhelming frozen fries 2) they bring out bottled ketchup for the table. Our's tasted like it somehow went bad (which is impressive since ketchup essentially never goes bad). It had a very vinegary and bitter taste to it. I would have liked to think it was because it was homemade or something, but judging by the rest of the meal I don't think this is the sort of place that makes their own condiments. This really grossed us out

Yelp
The food is phenomenal! They were understaffed and it took a while, but I can't blame them for that. The woman helping us, who I believe is the owner, was so very nice! Her daughter was helping her for the evening. Love that! Great place to go for drinks and amazing food. I got the fish n chips and I would absolutely order it again. Nice outdoor patio seating on the side and in the front.

Yelp
Been here 3 times in the last several weeks. Each time was great. Food was good but the staff was GREAT. Fun time!!! Ask for a deck of cards or a board game.
