This is a nice place. The food was good to just ok, the service was slow, but good, the waiter was very nice, but very busy (although the restaurant was not busy at the time I went (3ish).
We were hungry and all the food coming out of the kitchen looked very delicious. We ordered chicken wings (you get 6) for 13$. They were good tasting (habanero honey sauce), but they were just Luke warm. We wanted the cowboy fritters, but they were out (????) so we got the green beans. They were good, hot, crispy, and a bit spicy, just right.
We got French onion soup. It came out good and hot. It was cheesy, gooey and looked good. But it seems they used regular brown onions, not sweet onions so it tasted funny but at least it was NOT salty. We ate about 1/4 of it and chose to take the rest. We didn't really like it.
I got the most basic burger, and it was ok. The bun was burned to the point of bitterness. The meat was thick but lacked flavor. The sweet potato fries were good.
My wife got the beet salad and said it was great!
We took 1/2 the burger, and 3/4 of the soup home. We ate the burger later, tossed out the soup, just not what we expected flavor wise).
The staff is very nice. Our waiter was nice, but working indoor and outdoor diners. The place was not busy, but he was busy, so service was slowish, not complaining, I get it.
The atmosphere was ok. Not much going on, it's a nice place and often very packed (can't imagine why).
Overall, I would give this place a second chance. Maybe just an off day for the chef. I would NOT recommend the French onion soup or the burger really. But I would try them again, maybe.
