Oaktown Spice Shop

Wonderful spice tea and baking good shop in silver lake. They have easy free parking in their lot. They have samples to smell of everything before you buy and a very knowledgeable and helpful staff. This is my go to shop for spices and a great place to get gifts from unique but great cookbooks to chocolate covered honeycomb. The prices are super reasonable (equal or cheaper than most supermarkets) especially for the high quality.

The selection and quality can't be beat! There are so many spice blends and rubs to choose from, and the staff is really good at helping you pick one. Also I everything had a demo jar so you could smell each spice. They even had one for their teas, which is a really good idea because I'm normally clueless as to what tea to get! Also the biggest perk this place has as a Silver Lake business is a parking lot! Will definitely be coming back.

Had no idea they came down to LA. This has my all time favorite spice (Moroccan tangine) and go to holiday gifts.

There is a decent parking lot. This shop is where the old Rockaway Records used to be. What a fun spice shop! I found out that they have 2 stores in the Bay Area and this is their first in SoCal. They package up all their own spices. Every spice has a SMELL ME jar. Just wandering around smelling all the spices was wonderful! Friendly staff. Now if they could have GROUND smoky pepper next time please. Thank you!

Wonderful hidden gem right next to Mikey's Hook Up. Free parking lot with a HUGE array of spices and pantry items. I'm not a proficient cook by any means, but their options make me want to experiment with spices more and their employee was incredibly helpful. Here is what I got from there: Unami Sea Salt, Ground White Peppercorns, Persian Lime Curry Rub, Cyprus Mushroom Sea salt, Hickory Smoked sea salt and Woon's Stir Fry Sauce. I expected this all to cost well over $100, the grand total was a little over $60. They also carry chocolates there and have events. Great little shop!!

I liked this place and got some nice spices that I have used many times already. The staff is super friendly. I just wish the spices had a shaker top instead of just an open top.

Went in this morning to poke around and left with some awesome stuff. Umami salt, ghost pepper salt and two kinds of sea salt for cooking. Really friendly owner and tons of selection. I'm super glad to have this place in the neighborhood and will be back.
