"This Napa Valley-inspired restaurant in the West Loop is like Summer House Santa Monica for people with mortgages. Oakville is from the same team, has a similar wood-and-plant-filled aesthetic, and the same “viral hits” playlist. It also has an aggressively dull menu: crudo, a few housemade pastas, shredded brussels sprouts salad, and some steak. Dishes range from pretty good to fine, and it’s hard to justify making a reservation here when there are so many great (and more interesting) places in the West Loop. One thing that is noteworthy is that they have a 750-plus wine list. Something on it is bound to go well with the menu’s “nice green salad.”" - Adrian Kane

I came here with my mom for her birthday, we ordered calamari to start and it was perfectly fried not dried at all. For our entree we shared the whole Lobster Thermidor which was incredibly delicious. I wish they have that dish all the time.

This was a recommendation by a friend for lunch. I had never been here before. It is cozy, the tables against the walls are very close, so if you are comfortable with others overhearing your conversations this will be fine for you. Apart from that I had the Apple Cranberry Chicken salad. It was perfect, not too much, not too little. The grilled chicken was tender and well seasoned. My friend had the Crab Tower which she has had before, and loves, and it did not disappoint this time again. To be honest I was sorry I did not get it. I would say this restaurant is great for lunch or a date night. Dress is casual. The service was excellent. Be prepared to circle the parking lot for a spot, but it will be worth it. I will return.

My neighborhood restaurant: white tablecloths, candles, wine bar, a generally northern Italian ambiance, formal grace - they do some nice selections: beef, lamb chops, fish & shellfish, generally EU-style entrees; classic, not celebrity-chef style but solid and enjoyable -- it is nice to have a local restaurant of some formal quality, suitable for birthdays, anniversaries, guests and family visits, general domestic celebrations. My wife and I have returned here over the years. Try them, they are worth looking into. If you don't return regularly (as I do) then still you might bear it in mind as a suitable option for specific occasions. A civilized setting for a pleasant meal.

I've enjoyed eating at the Oakville Grill in the past, but I was totally unprepared for the dining experience I had on a recent Sunday evening. I can only assume that it was the chef's night off because our meal was hugely disappointing. We ordered lamb chops and filet mignon and both meals were remarkably tasteless and bland — making flavorful mashed potatoes, for example, should not pose any serious challenge to a reasonably talented kitchen. The ambiance is lovely, the service is good, but I cannot imagine what happened to the cook that evening. I hope that there is a reasonable explanation behind this very unsatisfactory experience.

Bethesda restaurant was better than expected. Food is fresh and reliable; not overly messed around with. Grilled salmon and chocolate mousse were particularly tasty. Decent wine list. Service can be slow but is solicitous. Space is comfortable if a bit cramped; a good place to take parents or grandparents.

I was a customer several years ago but a few bad experiences with seating and service caused my wife and I to move on. I wasn't impressed with the food either that seemed expensive and good but not great. Tonight, however, I gave it a second chance and I had the best filet mignon I've ever tasted. And it was huge, with excellent asparagus and delicious potato cakes. And all for $31. Incredible. I'm going to be regular. The service staff were familiar, but excellent this time around. I'm not sure if it is new management or a new chef, but I'm a big fan now. My guests were equally impressed (it was a convenient place to meet for a work dinner). Next, I'm bringing my wife back. Thanks Oakville!

We stayed in Maryland for a wedding and visited this lovely place we found on open table. We had the grilled trout and the local rock fish. Both were excellent. The wine selection was wonderful. The hostess and wait staff were all very friendly and attentive. We live in Ohio but if in Maryland again, we would return without hesitation.

The fish is delicious but not impressed with their steak. Would go again for anything they serve but the steak. Also prices are double what I saw on trip advisor. Wish I knew before stepping in. Also felt under dressed but the staff didn't treat us this way. I appreciate this since we have driven 7 hrs to visit sick family
