Yelp
I had come across Oases when navigating their neighborhood on Yelp, on the hunt for a place to meet an old friend for lunch. The concept of a cafe within a shop was really interesting to both of us, and the place's focus on wellness made it extra appealing. We agreed to meet up there, and both of us adored it!
From the moment we arrived, we were transported to a spa-like environment. The furniture was sleek, modern, and minimalist, with lots of white everywhere you looked. There was soft, soothing music playing just perceptibly enough in the background. While the cafe offered both self- and full-service sections, we decided to indulge in the complete experience and were happy that we did. The staff was beyond gracious; they spoke with the utmost politeness and in the most soothing voices. We were given a carafe of water, which I had wished included ice on that warm day, but that was my only critique. We were also given menus that included breakfast-like items, as well as larger meals that were better for lunch or a light dinner. Everything had been carefully thought out and utilized the most healthy, natural ingredients.
I settled on the Chelsea Curry Healing Bowl, which was vegan and had its ingredients graciously separated into two halves. There was tri-color quinoa and Himalayan rice on one side of the bowl; and then roasted butternut, yellow, and green squash, broccolini, and micro-greens on the other side. The vegetables had all been coated in a rich, Himalayan and tomato-infused coconut curry that was also seasoned with turmeric and rosemary. While I appreciated that the restaurant had taken into account that some people might have preferred to partake in each of the sides of the bowl separately, I mixed the chunky orange sauce with the grains and loved how light, fresh, and wholesome each bite was. The creamy curry was not overly heavy and had a powerful tomato flavor, similar to a soup. It was also packed with seasonal vegetables. My friend also had a bowl, but opted for the Salmon Umami Bowl, with its Asian flare. He also was very impressed with his meal.
Oases was located on a hectic, loud, and busy street corner, but, even with its floor-to-ceiling views of the chaos, managed to be a soothing haven that was perfect for a break from the workday. Plus, the food was excellent and left you feeling satisfied without causing that midday slump; you were now empowered for heading back to the office and tackling the rest of your work!
