"The Oasis Cafe is a dreamy highway diner just south of Stillwater’s main drag. Stop by for excellent breakfast dishes like cinnamon nutmeg buckwheat pancakes, country fried steak and eggs, and the Granny Smith breakfast sandwich, made with caramelized apples and havarti cheese. The lunch and dinner menus, which offer poutine, mac and cheese bites, burgers, and more, are also worth trying." - Justine Jones, Eater Staff

Incredible well-known spot off hwy 95 with amazing breakfast options. The waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast sandwich were all incredible. The atmosphere is welcoming, cozy, and snug as it should be. Bring your friends and your appetite! Don't be surprised if there is a wait but they do a great job getting everyone timely seated.

Google
We enjoy the Stillwater area and usually eat at the restaurants downtown or by the river, but we found this little cafe a little bit further down 95 and we're so glad we did! Fast friendly service with really good food. We liked the old style cafe feel in the one room and got to choose to sit in the middle room with the great views of the beautiful area outside of the restaurant. It's located right across the street from the river. We'll definitely be back to try more food on our next trip in the area.

I feel like they did everything right. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, fair prices and great food! What else can you ask for? I had the hangover burger which includes hash browns, fried egg and hollandaise sauce on the burger. They make 1/3 pound burgers so you know it will fill you up. Included in the price is a side and I chose fries which were delicious as well. Great fries! My meal was $17 before tax but for reference that was the most expensive burger on the menu. It was well worth it. My wife got the chicken wild rice soup which she loved as well. Highly recommend this wonderful local business!

Google
I had the chainsaw chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Definitely worth the try! Our server was wonderful as well. The restaurant is in a unique spot and its cozy inside. Great place for breakfast/lunch.

Google
Great place for breakfast. It gets a bit busy, but definitely worth the wait. The food is priced reasonably, especially when you compare it to some other local restaurants. The food is great and the service is usually even better. They have some limited outdoor seating, if you're looking to have a great view of the St. Croix during your stay. It's also right across the street from a nice walking path to downtown Stillwater or the highway 36 bridge.

Google
Oasis Cafe in Stillwater is such a gem! It’s family-owned, and you can feel the care in every part of the experience. We came with a large group, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating—they even brought us water while we waited for our table, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast options are top-tier—classic diner comfort with an elevated twist. The salads were fresh and flavorful, with large protein portions that really make them satisfying. Their cocktails and coffee drinks were fabulous, too. This place hits the mark on every level: service, food, and vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
This place is great, the atmosphere, the staff, the service, all top notch. Our water and coffee never got below the hallway mark, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. I wanted the avocado omelet but without mushrooms, no problem and it was delicious 🤤. The Italian grilled cheese my partner got was also devine and the breakfast burrito could easily feed two and also very good! The fries and tots (not pictured) were all done perfectly as well. Oh and the sour dough bread was great too. The only thing that would make this place better would be homemade jam to put on it. But even without it was awesome and well worth coming there, just a little personal preference 😁 I think it was the owner, came over and put a lit candle on the table. He said he does that whenever he sees a couple do something romantic 😍 he was very friendly and sweet. It's pretty clear the staff are treated well and enjoy their jobs. I will be back next time we're in town for sure!

We went there for lunch on a holiday. It took almost an hour for the food to come while we were seated. We did not order anything special. It looks to me that the guests are too many for them to provide service in a timely manner. However, they did not mention the waiting time at all when inviting the guests to their seats.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service, in a pretty cool place. The patio was nice and dog-friendly.

Yelp
The Oasis cafe is located ten minutes away from the bustling Stillwater downtown. This was a blessing as we got to arrive nice and hungry for what turned out to be the best brunch of our stay in Stillwater. Despite the evidently busy lunch hour, and without reservations, we were greeted and seated almost immediately. Service was super friendly and fast. I especially loved that then had lots of gluten free options including burger buns. I highly recommend visiting Oasis in Stillwater for their location, food and service.

Patricia M.

Yelp
I had high hopes based on reviews but food was not good. Maybe they do breakfast better, we had lunch and it was awful. I had a curry soup and half turkey sandwich which I assumed would be a cold deli style sandwich but it was hot, greasy with melted cheese. Yuck. My husband ordered a hamburger and bun was really soggy and he had to eat it with a fork. I'm sad because I usually love a diner but we won't be back. It was clean and people seemed nice.

Atwater Villager G.

Yelp
Probably best breakfast in downtown Stillwater. Tasty, hearty, reasonable prices and friendly, efficient service.

Quentin R.

Yelp
The food was great. It was hot and fresh. Service was very good. Had no issues ordering, and the waitresses are very attentive. As far as the ambience, everything looked at super clean and well organized.

Yelp
Stillwater has become THE weekend getaway for my partner and I, and we are always trying to find new spots! After driving by the Oasis Cafe a few too many times, we decided to swing in for brunch on a Sunday morning! Parking lot is dedicated to the cafe, which is unusual for the town and we found a spot fairly easily. Upon arrival, a hostess met us outside and almost immediately directed us to a table. The space itself is has very clear diner vibes and decoration. Service was WELL ABOVE our hopes and standards. A man, I assume was the owner, was frequently walking around checking on guests, bringing coffee IN MUGS to people waiting for a table outside, and even offered to pay for a nearby child's breakfast if he could win a game of tic tac toe. This type of care for your customers has very much become the exception and I hope Oasis keeps defying the stereotypes in this regard. Food was "elevated diner" food, and exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and quantity. We ordered a variety of items, and they were all delicious! Can't wait to come back and make this our brunch spot on future Stillwater trips!

Susannah C.

Yelp
Food and service was very good - it was very busy on a Sunday morning around 1030 so we sat at the bar in the back. Food was great, definitely generous portions for the cost. The Bloody Mary was disappointing - very flavorless and watered down. Also costs extra to add a beer on the side, which comes with the bloody at most places.

Kate E.

Yelp
A fantastic find on a whim. Our experience here was so good! There was a bit of a wait for my husband and I on Saturday morning around 10:30 but not too bad, especially considering while waiting some servers brought everyone waters and also brought us coffee! What a great way to do business and keep customers happy while waiting. There's not much outdoor seating but we were thankful we could get a table outside. My veggie hash was a combo of flavors and veggies I've not typically seen for breakfasts. It had me sold on sweet potatoes but there was also squash and even bits of celery. It totally worked and was so savory and good. My husband had the corned beef hash with eggs and said it was one of the best breakfasts he's had. Take the time to stop here! It's not downtown Stillwater but it's nearby and totally worth it.

Matthew M.

Yelp
very good restraunt, campfire cakes are greAt! it only needs a specialty coffee menu. Loud envirpnment, butt great vintage style. I wish for no taxon tips and

Yelp
I love this place; mainly for breakfast. Food and Service are exceptional. Parking can be a nightmare on weekends, but we usually go during the week, so not much of a problem. Waitresses/Waiters are so attentive. I like to bring my own coffee (I'm your typical "coffee snob") and they never balk at that. You won't be disappointed having breakfast out! Make the trip to this diner.

Darcy R.

Yelp
Have driven by so many times on the way to Stillwater and always comment that we should stop. Finally did for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This place is always busy for a good reason. Great service and great food. I was with someone who is very picky about hash browns being crispy. It's perhaps the only time I've actually seen him eat them all. They were perfect. The sausage in both dishes was tasty and the prices were a little better than going into the heart of Stillwater. Parking can look a little daunting but we were able to find a spot quickly. They also had a good selection for drinks from the bar, whether you want a Bloody Mary or Mimosa or just stop in after some shopping for a beverage. Will definitely go back.

Suzie R.

Yelp
This is the cutest little cafe ever! This reminds me of the diners I used to frequent when growing up in NY. Nothing better than a good diner and I'm not sure why it took me over a year to check out this adorable restaurant! I opted for the gluten free Rueben with fruit, hubby got the garlic mushroom burger and kiddo got the tater tots! It was absolutely delicious and the gluten bread was impressive! The wait staff is great and charming and there is a wrap around diner seating for parties of 1. You can even see into the kitchen if you get seated in the first part of the cafe. I can't wait to come back and try other menu items! And even bring my NY'er parents here when she comes and visits.

Joann 'Beierman' G.

Yelp
A charming diner with great atmosphere, especially the "regulars" pictures on the wall (what a tribute!). Henry was an amazing waiter. We asked for his recommendations & chose The Hangover & the Oasis Haystack. They were amazing! The hollandaise sauce is homemade & yummy. The hash browns were tasty & cooked crispy like we like them. Will definitely go there again!

Travis H.

Yelp
Breakfast or lunch you have to stop here!! You almost miss it driving into Stillwater but you won't regret it. We go here a lot as a family, my son loves their pancakes! I had the Chipotle Burger this time, so much flavor with the correct amount of heat. Be prepared to wait if you come here on a weekend. They have a bar on the east side of the restaurant if your in the mood for an adult beverage or 2... The parking lot is small and fills up fast, there is on street parking but the road is busy so be careful. Definitely an Oasis from everyday life!

Anna S.

Yelp
Bad food- even worse service! Try buying better quality food ingredients and hiring all new staff!

Ultra N.

Yelp
Good breakfast food in a nice area Service is usually very good and we have never had a bad experience there. The place has a great atmosphere but is a bit cramped (as it is usually very busy) Only complaint would be a lack of good gluten free options but thats just me :)

Mihir P.

Yelp
heading back from a weekend scout camp, my son and I decide to grab some breakfast. Oasis had good reviews, so we gave it a shot. we got there at 930. it was really busy, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. I had my coffee within 3 minutes of being seated. very important after being around screaming kids all weekend. we ordered and the food came within 15 minutes. we spent the wait looking out at the St Croix River and just enjoying the scenery. I got the biscuits and gravy and my son got the 2&2 (2 pancakes and 2 eggs) with a side of bacon. everything was great. the pancakes were nice and fluffy, and the biscuits were exactly as you would expect. I felt the gravy could have used a tad more seasoning, but that might just be me. parking is a little tight, so if you come at a very busy time, you might need to park down the road a little and walk. it's not far though... less than 50 yards. overall, it was a great breakfast and a great value. the biscuits and gravy (comes with 2 eggs) was $10, the pancakes and eggs were $8, and the side of bacon was $3. very reasonable prices. the view was nice and the staff was friendly and very efficient.

Kelli S.

Yelp
Went for breakfast on a Friday morning. Service was quick. The space is nice. I had the chicken fried steak and it was great. Husband really liked the Mushroom Benedict. We will definitely go again.

Lisa M.

Yelp
I should have taken a picture before I started eating, but it looked and smelled so go I couldn't wait so this is only half of what you get. The hash browns had the perfect amount of crispy-ness, plenty of meat mixed in and the toast was a nice thick slice. This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last.

Johannah S.

Yelp
Oasis Cafe is a perfect breakfast diner. I love how cozy it feels tucked right into the rocks on the side of the hill. We showed up on MLK day around 10 and the place was packed yet there was hardly a wait. Coffee mugs are all different and cute. I ordered the avocado omelette. Food came out pretty quickly! I actually would've been ok to wait a little for the food just because the inside is such a vibe. The omelette was so flavorful I took a bite before taking a picture and writing this review just to be sure. The perfect day: eat at oasis and then walk through all the shops downtown stillwater!

Lecia C.

Yelp
Another delightful breakfast at this quaint little spot. They have some unique items on the menu and the service is always spot on. I had the mushroom eggs Benedict and would highly recommend it. Hubby had the hangover breakfast sandwich and it was delightful. Our server, Liz, was friendly and helpful...a delight.

William S.

Yelp
This place is a fun place to go if you love the total package! The counter service, classic booths and tables give you plenty of seating options. The service is outstanding! We ordered breakfast for dinner and the kitchen had it on our table within ten minutes. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was very tasty, and the gravy had great flavor. The sides that came with it certainly filled me up to the point I couldn't finish the hashbrowns. Overall, the menu is extensive and as the orders were being delivered to the other tables, it encouraged me to visit this place again. The Burgers looked HUGE! I shall return. A side note, the place is in a scenic location and has outside seating in warmer weather.

Brian L.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a different place for a weekend brunch, so we drove out to Stillwater from St. Paul to try Oasis. A+ experience all around. The place was busy, but we only had to wait 5 minutes or so to be seated. It has that "local diner" feel, and from the discussions around us, there were plenty of regulars there. It took us forever to order, because everything on the menu sounded amazing. I had the "Oasis Haystack", which is a couple eggs over hash browns, cheese, onions, green pepper, and breakfast meats. The base could've been overwhelmingly greasy (I've had similar dishes that were) but it tasted fresh, and the breakfast meat was very nicely done (bacon, sausage, I think). My wife had the Chainsaw Chicken sandwich, and it was so huge I expected she'd be bringing home leftovers, but she gobbled it all up, and said it was the best fried chicken sammich she'd ever had. Prices were reasonable, and the view of the St. Croix from inside the restaurant was wonderful. This needs to become a regular weekend breakfast spot for us - there's a lot of menu left to try!

Olga S.

Yelp
Our favourite spot for breakfast. I live in Stillwater, and sometimes me and my husband love to come to Oasis for a classical American rich breakfast. This place is always busy, but welcoming, with friendly service and delicious food; Oasis never failed us, it is always good. On the next day after our wedding party we had a relaxed breakfast with our friends at Oasis, it was great - lovely summer morning, outdoors, with our 2 small dogs sitting quietly under the table waiting for fall-offs.

Alex X.

Yelp
Get the jalapeño burger and thank me later. Perfectly cooked with the right combination of hot from the pepper and sweet from the sauce. It's so good. One of the best burgers I've had locally.

B B.

Yelp
Great food and friendly staff!!! Yummy bloody Marys too! ..................................................................................

David B.

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant. Tucked away in the hills of Stillwater on the river, you cannot go wrong with breakfast or lunch. I do not know about dinner because I've never been here but I'm sure it's as good as the breakfast and lunches.A must come to restaurant.

Sheryl H.

Yelp
Convenient parking Happy, friendly servers Great prices Fast service Delicious food What more can you ask for!? I will definitely be back. I HIGHLY recommend!

Shanna G.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast! Such a hidden gem in Stillwater. It's right as you come into town and is always busy. We love having breakfast there. On this visit we arrived right when they opened and there was a line through the parking lot! The staff did a quick job getting everyone seated and beverages right away. The kitchen was amazing because even though the whole place filled up at the same time we did not wait long for our order. We ordered the sausage scramble, Belgian waffles with blueberries and the Colorado haystack. All done perfectly! The food is delicious. I have never had a dish I didn't like. There is outdoor seating and lots of indoor seating. This is one of the few places in Stillwater that has a parking lot you do not have to pay to park.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
This place is busy but the wait isn't bad at all. Just know they wait until your entire party is there before seating. It is an open kitchen so you can see what other diners are ordering if you're unsure on what to order. This place does charge 3.99% when using a credit card (new norm in MN). Parking lot isn't big and limited handicap parking spot (only 1 or MAYBE 2, not sure if there is more in the back). There are parking on the side of the road, just be careful crossing the street. Our server was very attentive and made sure my coffee cup was never empty. I highly recommend their smoked salmon benedict, my kids don't normally like trying anything new but they loved it! Would love to go back and try their biscuits and gravy. Their pancakes on the hand was just so so, a lot of people ordered it so maybe it just wasn't what I'm used to? To me it was more on the drier side and my daughter said hers had a chewy texture.

Reid S.

Yelp
Very good food; great for kids. We showed up for lunch on the 4th of July and were seated right away, even on a busy day for Stillwater. We had quick service and the owner challenged each of our boys to a game of tic tac toe - winner buys lunch. Unfortunately he was pretty good and they all came to a draw. Oh well, the kids enjoyed their pancakes. Nice spot just across from the river, and plenty of seating for different sized parties.

Pamela Q.

Yelp
Coolest little hole in the wall and the diner food is YUMMY! We split a breakfast sandwich and waffle - both delicious! Great service too!

Nikki E.

Yelp
Good food, fun for kids and families. Perfect for breakfast. It's always busy so be prepared to wait. Have fun!

Nn B.

Yelp
If you want good food, this is the place. Great burgers, etc! If you want good service, I can't recommend this place at all. Rude hostess, and dismissive staff. I've had bad experiences there more than once, was hoping it was a one-off. Most recently I arrived about two minutes before my buddy (he was literally pulling into the parking lot) and asked to be seated for two or three guests (we had one "maybe" who would join us later). They refused to seat me until I knew about the third person, "we need all your party to be here." I won't repeat the whole conversation but I ended up finding spectacular service (with somewhat lower quality food) at a different restaurant in Stillwater. If I just wanted good food, I would make it myself; I go to a sit down place for good service. Do better oasis.

Matthew U.

Yelp
It annoys me that you blatantly tell your customers that they are going to pay your credit card fees when using a credit card. I understand the reason is to keep prices the same but if the food and service are excellent (which btw it is) then it's not going matter as much on price.

Hnou V.

Yelp
Got takeout from here during Covid. I got the Chainsaw chicken sandwich. It's a fried chicken sandwich breaded with Captain Crunch and Corn Flakes. I loved the texture of it. They said it would be done in 10 minutes but my drive there is a bit over 20 minutes. The chicken sandwich and fries were still crispy and warm when I got my food. I looooved it. The chicken was crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. I loved the battered fries. I can't wait to come back and try more things. It's worth the drive!

Paul O.

Yelp
A lifetime destination I've driven hundreds of times, nestled between MN #95 and the St. Croix bluffs, the Oasis Cafe has always exuded charm as a place to dine. Now, a bucket list eatery, I stopped on a brisk grey day punctuated by snow flurries as spring struggled to break through. Entering, a 50s style diner, with charm undiminished, beckons. A small dining area, with a great view of the River, connects the sparkling rear bar/dining room, creating a great atmosphere before the menu appeared. I ordered the biscuits, gravy and two eggs easy over. The biscuits were dense and tasty, the gravy thin and biscuit 'soppable.' The Thunder Bay beer was a wonderful pairing. The server was friendly and attentive which completed a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

Ahna S.

Yelp
The food was so good! My fiancé and I split a haystack and french toast. Absolutely delicious. However, the service was terrible. We experienced terrible service. Our server took our order, dropped off the food, and then dropped off the check 45 minutes later. They never checked to see how we were doing or refilled our waters. I'd understand if they were busy, but they were just hanging out at the server station. Other than that, food was great and cafe was cute. Just don't expect grade A service

Keith R.

Yelp
Have had breakfast here and it was great! Went back for supper and was equally pleased! Big burger and crisp tasty fries! Seasoned just right. Also got the roast beef sandwich which had the twist of a biscuit rather than white slice of bread-much better this way. Great flavor and even the potatoes stood out

Abby Q.

Yelp
The food here is delicious and exactly what you would picture for a cute cafe/diner. Our server was very attentive and everything came out fast.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I work overnights. I wanted breakfast/dinner. I can have a beer, but I can't order a burger until 11 am, and the portions are smaller than I heard. Disappointing. Don't think I'll come back. I guess I'm just surprised in a 24 hr kinda of world & out was a total bummer.

Molly K.

Yelp
Delicious food for a great price. I highly recommend the banana bread French toast and breakfast burrito for breakfast.

STACY F.

Yelp
We stopped here twice as good reviews and always busy. The host (s) could not have been more rude or dismissive ! It takes a lot for my husband to say never again but this place is a definite never again .

Tracey F.

Yelp
Just absolutely love coming here. It gets really busy quickly, so get there early, or expect to wait a bit during breakfast time. Dinner time seems less busy. My breakfast favorites are the Mexian Haystack and the granny Smith sandwich. They usually have a quiche of the day too. If you get regular hot coffee, hope one day you will be graced with the "Big Hug Mug". They also offer a fairly full bar, so if that tickles your fancy, you are in luck. I have only been in once for dinner and and had the peanut chicken tacos and they were great. Definitely make a stop before heading in to DT Stillwater.

Kelsey R.

Yelp
I got the hangover burger and it was amazing! The service was friendly and despite being busy, we got seated quickly. Their fries are delicious and I loved how crispy they were.

Douglas H.

Yelp
The Oasis Cafe was great! Food was great. Service was great. Ambiance was going back in time to a very efficient 50's diner. Place was packed, but they got people in and out very well. Food was really good. I think this was a gem. A high recommend on my list. I definitely go eat there again.

Robert E.

Yelp
If you're looking for great food and service this is the place. The line out the door all year long is a testament to that. sit in the restaurant or down in the bar the service is great too. Good beer selections also.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
We went for Saturday breakfast and it was fantastic! I'm not usually a toast person and even the multigrain was delicious. I had the Oasis haystack and strongly recommend it. The bar area seating was very hip and modern too.

Sam S.

Yelp
I have lost count on how many times we have been here. Everything is amazing and the severs are personable and polite.

Kathleen T.

Yelp
We love to stop at the Oasis Cafe for breakfast while in Stillwater. Our favorite breakfast spot with good coffee and a great food menu.
