This was the first time going to Oasis and it didn't disappoint. Interior was well designed, the booths comfortable and the music was good - aux, no live music when we went. The food was absolutely excellent and it probably was the best quality sushi I've had in northern VA. You can probably get away with eating a lower cost and decent lunch or dinner between the kitchen and maki rolls but their signature rolls are built around o-toro and truffle. I'd say expect premium prices for a premium experience.

Live atmosphere with stylish décor, great energy, and music that keeps the vibe alive all night. The sushi was aowsom and beautifully prepared! Service—while not overly formal—was friendly and added to the overall experience. A perfect spot for a fun night out. Highly recommended!

Great neo-japanese restaurant in Clarendon. Sushi/sashimi is the main appeal and is fresh and tasty. The waiter detailed our deluxe sashimi with the Japanese names for the fish followed by the english names. We had house hot sake but the cocktail menu looked really interesting. We had miso soup for appetizer but looking forward to trying others next time. Decor is really interesting. Large bar area in front. $60+ pp without cocktails but worth it.

That being said, they never mentioned the table would be outside in the back. We asked them to move us inside when we realized this. One, it was chilly and two, it's a listening bar we wanted to be inside to listen to the music. They were able to accommodate us and we sat in the bar area which was way better! We got a bunch of sushi and all of them were delicious! Really good quality sushi and the flavors were amazing! Definitely want to go back and try some other rolls. Something I also noted, it's a listening bar but no one was playing vinyl. Just music from the aux. maybe just an off night? Will definitely come again.

Great date night location or drinks for after work. High end sushi restaurant with classy atmosphere. Highly recommended and dare I say my all time favorite restaurant in the DC area. Service was timely, mocktails and whisky selection on point. We will be back and can’t wait to go on doubles dates with friends.

One of the best sushi experience in the DC metro area — hands down. Oasis isn’t just a sushi restaurant, it’s a full sensory experience. The fish is incredibly fresh — from buttery salmon to fresh blue fin tune, every dish is thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The specials, Poke Bowl and Salmon Truffle were, and the rolls were packed with flavor and texture. What sets Oasis apart is the vibe — a classy, intimate listening bar atmosphere with smooth jazz playing in the background, making it perfect for a relaxed yet elevated night out. The staff is warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food and service. The special roll Pacific roll was delicious and everything tasted very fresh. They gave a 20% discount for their soft opening which was a great touch. Service was good too! We came in last night for the vinyl hour per your calendar and couldn't seem to figure what was going on. DJ area was never occupied or utilized. Music was playing but not sure what was being featured or where it was coming from. Came in expecting more. Food was great, 2 of us spent $ 335. We're our expectations misplaced? Came here during the weekend. The restaurant is split into two sections, bar in front and a seating area in the back. We ordered a few dishes, all which tasted great and up to par with competitors in the area. Lastly there were no issues with service and it was easy to flag down a waiter. I look forward to coming back to try more of their other drinks

I see that I'm in the minority on this review. This was not a bad experience, but it was just ok. I love the concept, the vibe, and the design of the restaurant. Service was fine. The food was well presented. So what is the problem? There was not a single dish that draws me back again from a taste standpoint. The rolls we had were very forgetable (for us). We tried several from the different menus. We also tried several starters. The tuna tartare was the closest to being good, but it lost its flavor after running out of crackers. All in we had 2 glasses of wine, 3 sushi rolls and 3 starters. The total price was about $160 with a 20% tip. The price was fine. I just cant find the value when balancing with the cuisine. If I return it will likely only be for drinks or some strong convincing that we simply picked the wrong plates.

We started with Jasmine Green Tea, then shared an impressive spread: Beef Kushiyaki, Chicken Kushiyaki, Grilled Baby Octopus, Sashimi Deluxe, and Chicken Teriyaki. The sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented, though the slices were a bit thin, making them hard to pick up -- and at the price point, it felt slightly overpriced for the portion. The highlights of the night were the Squid Ink Uni Spaghetti, Oasis Roll, Salmon Truffle, Hotate Strawberry Yuzu, and Chirashi -- all well-balanced and flavorful. For dessert, the Earl Grey Crème Brûlée was a delightful finale with its subtle tea aroma and creamy texture. Cocktails were creative and fun -- we tried the Wiggly Witch, Moonglow, Venom Velvet, and Fujii Kaze, each offering unique flavor profiles and gorgeous presentation. The only downside: some tables have a 90-minute limit while others do not, which feels a bit inconsistent for a place designed for lingering and listening. All in all, Oasis The Listening Bar is a stylish and vibrant spot with quality food, inventive drinks, and great ambiance -- just a few tweaks away from being perfect.

Updated to share that Oasis has truly become a 5-star service experience for myself and my friends since settling in. We chose Oasis for a birthday celebration for a friend and the entire party was blown away by the attention to detail in service, eye-candy plating, live jazz music and most importantly delectable food. Can't miss items on the menu- Octopus balls, Tuna appetizer and the Oasis roll. The peppers appetizer was also a hit and packed a punch of heat for those curious! Having a cheesecake and candle brought out for our friend's birthday was an added delight.

Saturday night and the place was packed. Started with love talking Tokyo banana drink. It was good. The Atlantic roll was super yummy with the seared salmon on top. White fish butter miso delicious with perfect truffle flavor. Some sashimi. Salmon melted in my mouth. Loved the eel especially. Loved the bathroom- clean, loud music, and cool grapefruit hand soap. Only constructive criticism was that they don't clear the plates soon enough. And didn't refill waters. We sat at the bar. It was busy. Came back for a weekday lunch. Lunch menu was nice and was surprised it wasn't more busy. (Dinner had been packed!) Ordered off the main menu. New style hamachi, salmon belly/foie gras ), and the Atlantic roll again. Good service. Really like this place.

I'm a fan! Went with a small group of friends and we enjoyed our time here. The vibe was spot on. They play live music starting at 7:30. I plan to return for the Brazilian Jazz I had a lychee cocktail and it was so yummy! We had the ceviche, gyoza and the oasis roll (it has a nice kick to it). I went during a weekday and service was friendly. I really enjoyed the interior design. This is a great place for a date night or a night out with friends.

I visited with a friend, during their soft opening. Staff, food, drinks and ambiance were great. The owner was constantly checking on each guest to ensure they had what they needed. Definitely would return and bring friends. I did note that they didn't have a non rice option, like a Naruto rolls. I hope when I return that they have had enough run time to have this option. Other than that an absolute gem!

I would say this is a good spot for jazz vibes - they have live performances and love the theming of the place with Japanese records and aesthetic. I also like the drinks here too! I got the Fuji Kaze which was a strong matcha/yuzu drink with gin. They are around $20 which is typical around this area I'd say. The food on the otherhand, I'd say isn't worth it. Lots of the food has mentions of truffle, foie gras... mentions of 24K gold. The portion sizes aren't worth the price in my opinion, and the small sushi rolls can be over $30. My roll was over $30 for five pieces and I would say it wasn't anything jaw-dropping. My squid appetizer was very small for the $15 price. I also enjoyed the earl grey creme brulee here. Service was okay, I would say it was rather slower than what I would have liked. Overall, I'd come back to this place for drinks and vibes. I wouldn't come for the food again, as I think it's expensive for what you get.

I came with a group of ladies for a girls night. The ambience when entering the restaurant was great and the decor gives a cool vibe. We were a bit unsure of what made the restaurant a listening bar - there were plenty of vinyls on the walls for decor and a dj setup but throughout the evening we just heard general restaurant music. We noticed pretty quickly that service was slow as the restaurant was packed and they seem to be pretty new. Each order we made took longer than average to come and it seemed like our sushi was forgotten about after checking in with the staff. Our reservation was at 7pm and we didn't eat until about 8:30pm. Separately, each time an item was dropped off to our table, the staff member could not name the different items (specifically naming fishes on the nigiri & sashimi platters). Overall the food and drinks were delicious. The quality of the sushi was noticeable. The cocktails were great - unique and fun, but pretty expensive ($18-$25) I would try it again after they work out some of the service kinks.

We came in for a date night, really looking forward to the trendy vibes and some good sushi. The front area has a large bar while the back is darker and more intimate, great for the listening bar vibe. The booths are the place to be and gives you some space from your neighbors. Service was quick and easy- we started with some cocktails, including the purple gin one and the tea old fashion. The tea old fashion was a fantastic, a unique spin on a classic drink. For our food: we started with the kaarage, which really reminded me of mcdonalds nuggets (in a good way) - the chicken was soft inside and the portion was quite large. We also got the yellow tail which was a gorgeous presentation and so light, with a fantastic flavor that didn't overwhelm the great fish quality. We also got the scallop item and my husband was in love, he said the flavors were rich but the presentation was simple and it really wow'ed him. The rolls are a little pricey so we didn't go overboard but we did get the oasis roll, the pacific roll, and a spicy tuna cucumber roll. Everything we had was fantastic- it felt like elevated sushi. We ended the night with some sake, and would love to see some more sake options on the menu in the favor. All the staff was fantastic and the spot was very trendy - was hoping to see the music aspect of the place but we were in on an early Wednesday night. They are still honoring their soft opening discount so take advantage and try a great new spot.

The drinks were my favorite. I would definitely go back to try more drinks. Chicken teriyaki surprised me and had good flavor but it was a bit small. The sushi was good but I probably wouldn't go for just sushi. The vibes are really good here and it was well decorated. Server was nice.

Visited for a belated birthday dinner with my family and had a great time! I stumbled upon this gem on Yelp and didn't realize it had just opened this month. They are currently in their soft opening phase. The atmosphere: The space is beautifully decorated with tons of vinyl records and unique, eye-catching decor. The bar area is spacious and features a fun marquee sign. There's a mix of table, booth, and bar seating, which makes it feel inviting for all types of groups. The food: Prices are definitely on the higher side, but you can taste the quality in every dish. The Fried Tempura Oyster came out hot and crispy and paired perfectly with the tartar sauce. The Salmon Truffle was a highlight, with its freshness and the bright, zesty kick from the yuzu ponzu. The Pacific Roll was smaller in portion but still packed a flavorful bite. My family and I shared the Sashimi Deluxe, which had a great variety. My personal favorite was the scallop topped with uni and roe (absolutely delicious). The service: Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I'm excited to come back with friends and try some of their drinks next time. Open to recommendations!

Oasis The Listening Bar has a lot of potential and some really nice elements. Once the live music starts, the atmosphere transforms. it has a nice jazzy vibe that makes you want to just sit back and enjoy. That said, the dining area is pretty small and felt a bit crowded, and the overall atmosphere didn't quite match what I was expecting. For a listening bar, most people didn't seem to be paying much attention to the music, which took away from the experience a bit. The food was decent, but overpriced for what it was. nothing bad, just not particularly standout.

Lively restaurant and bar with live jazz which was cool. As far as the food and drinks go, the flavors were decent. But I felt everything was overpriced. A cocktail is pretty pricey there and the uni squid ink pasta was small in terms of portion. Should not be $30 plus. Other than that, it's worth checking out for the vibe.

Absolutely amazing experience! Sisters group is making a name for themselves in the DMV and quality is consistent! I have been to the Thai restaurant in Tysons and this is my first time at the Japanese restaurant in Clarendon. It literally takes you out of Clarendon and into a modern Japan. Venue decoration is out of this world and the effort and detail that went into plating is immaculate! I went on a random Wednesday and there was a live singer, beautiful voice! Perfect for date night or fun night on the town! Food is top-notch, but gets expensive depending on how much you order . I would say go for the sushi rolls! The roll with the scallop on top - I need the chefs information! Chefs kiss!! The Nigiri was delicious as well if you can appreciate quality fish! The salmon sashimi salad was delicious, but it was heavy on the vegetables in my opinion - would choose something else. Service was incredible, even as it got busier. Our server was well-versed on the menu and helpful with suggestions! Need to return to try everything else. The only con I will note as someone that does not have a sweet tooth. I like a balanced dessert. The Mochi cakes did not hit the mark for me. They were absolutely incredibly well-made and beautiful, but all of them were too tart and the passion fruit was overly sweet, in my opinion.

This place is sooo cute inside and I love the booths! The sushi was AMAZING quality. I would come back and try some special rolls. The spicy tuna roll was fresh and good. The nigiri was a true standout. The salmon belly was incredible, same with the regular salmon. The yellow tail and medium fatty tuna were good too but not as good as the salmon. Everything was so fresh. I can't wait to come back!

Visited Oasis this past weekend to try their cocktails. Honestly the drinks leaned way too sweet, some even tasted medicinal (especially the Tokyo Banana). I also think it's misleading to call it a listening bar--it felt more like a regular Japanese restaurant with vinyls as décor rather than a true music-focused spot.

For someone who lived in Japan for two years...this place is top notch. After three years living in DC, I'm happy to report--- we've found our all time favorite restaurant. Oasis: The Listening Bar is located at The Crossing Clarendon, taking over the space that was once Cava Mezze. They're based on HiFi bars that are popular in Japan, having high-quality record players and good sound systems, where patrons are able to focus and enjoy both the music and their eats. Currently in their soft opening stage, they offer coffee, sushi, craft beer, cocktails, and music - they will also have a DJ spinning on the weekends, so be on the lookout! We enjoyed ordering their signature rolls, as they were fresh and well-prepared. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the space is a vibe. Definitely an unassuming spot. I have been walking by since Oasis opened a few months back and it looked small inside. The bar is quite large and beautiful inside. Walls are lined with records and resembles a bar in Ireland. The fantasy roll (pictured) was fantastic-- high quality fish and the perfect amount of sauce. The nigiri lunch was also superb. The sushi is on the pricier side (~$25/specialty roll) but I will likely be back.

Simply sushi perfection! During their soft opening in Clarendon, three of us THOROUGHLY enjoyed a Tuesday dinner -- the Pork Gyoza and Fried Oysters (the latter of which were a fun surprise on a Japanese menu) were both fabulous! We did a fairly broad sampling of their sushi rolls -- and it was some of the very best any of us had enjoyed -- textures/temperatures/rolling expertise were all spot on! The fish (and scallops) were pristine and perfect. A dulce de leche (cheese)cake dessert was delicious -- and I am not even normally a dessert person! From walking in the door to our exit -- the staff was warm, welcoming and just lovely. The space is wonderful too! We had gone to the previous restaurant at this location, and it is obvious that the new Oasis owners/managers knew how important it was to rework the space -- and did so brilliantly! The vibe is creative and rich, while also being energetic and relaxing at the same time. Cannot wait to go back! (And looking forward to their live music and full bar as well!)

This is the coolest place in Clarendon! Such an awesome vibe and the sushi is creative and delicious. The service is also extremely thoughtful and responsive. And the cocktails! Gorgeous, unique, and tasty! Get the one with lychee foam.

Loved the vibe of this place, it is dark and moody. Our server was amazing and very very attentive and gave the best suggestions for drinks. The food was good but portions are on the smaller side but will for sure be back for the drinks. Perfect for a date night or a girls night out. Prices are a big high but the quality of the drinks are amazing. Would be back hopefully for some live music soon!

I went to Oasis listening bar with some friends and was very impressed. I think this is a newer restaurant, looks like a small joint but it's pretty big. They have a nice bar area when you walk in with tables along the sides of the room along with a large dining area in the back. I must say I was wildly impressed with the cocktails and food, everything was delicious and they have a good amount of options. Service was good, but you can tell they are still getting the hang of things - this has very strong potential to be one of the best sushi places in the area.

Currently in the soft opening phase, Oasis The Listening Bar was delicious! Being open for only five days so far, they are ramping things up but still delivered great quality food, with friendly staff and a great vibe of the building. The music spinning in the background sets a nice vibe and you can find records all over the restaurant. The sushi bar had a good selection and the serving sizes were filling. Definitely will be coming back and hope to try the drinks next time!

Just happened to walk by Oasis The Listening Bar a few days ago, in the space that used to be a Cava, and was intrigued by the menu. A few days later my girlfriend and I decided to stop by for lunch. The interior is very spacious with a huge bar under a classic movie theater sign as soon as you enter. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant which had more seating and cozy booths along wall shelves displaying an eclectic record collection. You could also see glass shelves of different collectibles and posters throughout the restaurant. We ordered the chicken karaage appetizer, the nigiri combo set, and the sushi combo with unagi avocado and shrimp avocado tempura. Both sets came with miso soup. The chicken karaage was some of the best we've had in VA - perfectly crispy, juicy, and nicely seasoned. It was what you wished McDonald's chicken nuggets tasted like. My sushi combo was really nice and flavorful with not too much rice. The miso was really nice as well - not too salty. The one complaint I have is that the wasabi, which is likely not the real stuff, had no kick whatsoever. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. She mentioned they plan to host DJ's and live music during the weekends, which will be nice to have. I'm glad we have another great Japanese restaurant in the neighborhood, and I look forward to coming back soon.

I was visiting my friend in the city and she took me to this lovely place. Food was so so delicious and atmosphere, service all amazing. Our server Win was the best. He explain the whole menu to us and help us pick the item that we enjoyed 10/10. Definitely recommend this place. Ask for Win, I think he is very professional and will definitely help level up your experience. Will be back.

I was there on Monday and I loved everything about this place. Food sushi was amazing and the vibes are 10/10

Went in around 8pm on a weekday evening, ordered chirashi which took 35 minutes to come out; I actually dozed off waiting for my order to come out. Underwhelmingly prepared to say the least. I was going to ask the waiter if they were bringing the dish from Japan becauset it took so long. The hapless waiter was apologetic, but didn't do much else. The miso soup I ordered which I sipped slowly to eat with the chirashi, got cold but he didn't offer to warm it up or offere a new bowl, which I didn't expect but would have been a nice touch. The waiter also had terribly bad breath, which was unavoidable because he had to lean in to talk to me because the place was so loud. For the price, the chirashi is not worth it. Just mediocre sashimi and presentatino. What you're paying for is the singer/musician and the 'vibe.' If you want authentic Japanese food, go to the ramen place across the street or sushi place near the 7-11 on Washington Blvd... Can't recommend this place, and won't be returning...

I went there with my family on Monday, all the food and the cocktails are incredible and unique, they also have a good list of Sake and Japanese whisky which is perfect for us !! The service was on point, the food came very decent. They also had someone playing the vinyl in the dining area. Overall very good vibes for family or date night.

Taking over the old Cava (which I really enjoyed decades ago), I was excited to see the space revitalized. Setting is very beautiful and cool with warm lighting and live jazz. The booths are fun and would make a great date night choice. The huge front bar would also be a fun place to hangout. The drinks were fine - I got the fujikaze. It was ok. The portions seemed a good value for the area. The food is beautiful and there were lots of interesting things I wanted to try. Service was slow but the place is new, so I hope it gets better.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Every single aspect of this restaurant is close to perfection. The decor, the attention to detail, the drinks, the sushi, all of it was 10/10 for me. My boyfriend and I had met the GM, Ake, while eating at a different sushi spot a couple of months ago. He was so exceptional that I left a review for that restaurant because of how amazing he was. The experience at Oasis is truely exceptional. The place itself is stunning and the staff is extremely kind and so well versed on their menu which stood out to me since the place opened just a few weeks ago. Our server Teddy was so kind and gave us some amazing recommendations. He reccomend a roll we had not initially ordered (the toro toro roll), and that ended up being my favorite bite of the night. The sashimi platter is a must as well, the pieces of fish were so incredibly fresh and buttery. We also were greeted by a manager named Pat who was also so kind and helpful and gave us some recommendations too. Overall, this was one of my favorite dining experiences in the DC/VA area and I will 10000% be back very soon.

Incredible food, wonderful ambiance for dining in. The miso soup is particularly delicious, and even the simple sushi rolls were fantastic as well. Though they are just in a soft opening, they are accepting carry out orders in person. Everyone who works there has been so nice and helpful as well. I really hope this place is successful. It's a great addition to the neighborhood.

Amazing new spot! The perfect blend of Japanese flavors, Hawaiian vibes, and a smooth jazz atmosphere that makes you want to linger all night. The sushi is fresh, creative, and beautifully presented. Fang and Pat made our night with their friendly, attentive service -- they really went above and beyond. Can't wait to come back!

This place is a welcome addition to Clarendon. Delicious sushi. Friendly staff. And the interior is both sophisticated and a bit quirky (ie, it has character). I would--and will--go back again.

The food has always been quite good during our handful of visits. Tonight, we went for dinner for the first time and the service was bad. We had four in our party. Every time an item arrived, they had no idea who ordered what, so we had to play that fun game. One of us dig not receive their entree along with everyone else. We awkwardly slowly ate trying to stretch out the time. Eventually the waiter came back and asked if we wanted to order more. We asked about the missing entree. The waiter came back minutes later to tell us it was almost ready. Much longer, and it finally came out. No acknowledgment that he clearly didn't put in the order, and was then oblivious that one of our party was sitting through the meal with nothing. Eventually he came back and we asked for a dessert menu. He told us they had mochi and crème brûlée. We said we would have one of each. After much time, he returned with a plate with three mochi on it. Told us it was on the house. Yay! We split the three small pieces among the four of us. Very good. We each got one bite of each flavor. Crème brûlée never made an appearance. Fire this waiter or stick him in the back never to see a customer. Didn't catch his name. He spoke largely inaudibly and didn't try to be heard over the music. I tipped anyway, since I figure the back of house staff worked hard making such good food.

Great tasting food and drinks! They are still working out some of the opening logistics kinks, but this is a promising place. Recommend going if you want some special stuff to splurge on and you are ready to be a little patient with the staff. Atmosphere is very lively inside. Outside patio is quiet and really nice in good weather.
