On the expensive side, even for happy hour, but mostly worth it. Food is delicious and consistent and based on South American fusion with fish, steak, and seasonal vegetables. The only knock here is a stagnant menu (it has been mostly the same for years) all of the dishes are perfectly cooked and combine great flavors. Try the coconut prawns for an appetizer, they are a favorite, and the prime rib is to die for (all of the steak options are phenomenal). The drinks are tasty and unique, pitchers of margaritas or mojitos flavored with prickly pear or guava are popular in the bar area. The staff are friendly but the atmosphere can be noisy if you aren't at the right table. Tip: make a reservation and ask for a booth, it is worth the wait. A must try restaurant in Portland.

Great ambiance & service! We had a Groupon for a four course fixed menu. It was a wonderful deal. Think if I were to go back or refer a friend I would skip the fixed menu. There were too many other yummy sounding dishes. I especially liked the sound of the tapas. Wine menu offered a nice selection and had yummy sounding cocktails. Large bar and has out door curb seating when the weather is right.

The service and food here is fantastic. Enjoyed everything I ate, especially my steak which was cooked perfectly.

The food was delicious, service was great, and I loved the atmosphere. However, this restaurant has extremely small portion sizes. I understand that high end food typically has smaller portions, but this place took it to a whole new level. Also, the menu was misleading. Definitely clarify with your waiter before ordering to make sure you get what you want.

Liked: Happy hour menu is all you'll need if you arrive early enough. Pitchers of mojitos and margaritas are just perfect. Fish tacos. Tasteful atmosphere. Disliked: Can be an expensive night out for full scale dinner with friends.

Highly recommend their late night happy hour! Went here with 3 of my favorite ladies for a late night meal and after a pitcher of sangria we were all contemplating getting feathers in our hair. Luckily, the tasty (and HUGE) burgers arrived before we did anything rash. Definitely a great place.

food is delicious! nice happy hour menu too. drinks are great! it's the service that i could live without. every time i go there for happy hour, it's as if the servers just don't want to be there. any requests are heard but shrugged at once they walk away. pretty annoying. totally smug. bummer cause, as i said, the food and drinks are delish!

Oba drinks on the patio in summer is what brought me to love this place. Prickly Pear Margarita please! Then to celebrate our engagement my wife and I had an intimate dinner party with the most amazing yellow squash gazpacho ever to blow our minds.(I will never, ever forget that gazpacho.) The waitstaff here are extremely polite and knowledgeable and will assist with pairing food and wine. Everything is clean, the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is perfect for dinner (romantic or otherwise!) so Oba is always a good choice. Edit: restaurant is now closed down. Major loss for Portland happy hour and fine dining.
