Yelp
I've debating between 2 or 3 stars. I've settled on 2. My experience was very disappointing. Which is a bummer because the reviews I looked at were so good.
We arrived, and as we were walking through the patio a waitress had come outside to tell a group of patrons that there wasn't service outside today so they would have to come inside if they wanted food, and she dramatically told them "and we don't push tables together". They seemed to have a big party.
As we entered the establishment, it seemed a little busy. We waited to be seated and that was a little annoying. We had 3 different staff members walk past us and clearly make eye contact, and still not a one said anything to us. Finally the 4th person stated someone would be with us shortly.
An older lady approached us, and asked how many. We had 4 in our party, 2 adults, 2 kids. She pointed out a table, and told us we could sit there. I pointed at the table to clarify which table, and the table she was pointing at only had 2 chairs. We told her, and she looked at us and said make the kids sit on the floor. We chuckled politely, even though it wasn't funny. Then she suggested we go find chairs at other tables, that we could use. I was kind of shocked by this. According to the waitress from outside, tables and chairs aren't allowed to be moved, but inside feel free to do so. That was the vibe I got. The older lady could see we weren't too impressed, and said oh just wait here, I will get you two chairs, looked at the youngest child (10 yrs old) and said you're going to help me, come with me. He didn't know what to do, but eventually followed.
When we sat down, we noticed and overheard the waitress before (from outside) complaining to the adjacent table, about how it's going to take her awhile to assist them because she has 3 different parties in three different areas of the bar and grill. She proceeded to tell them how ridiculous the people outside were being. I would tell you her name, but she wasn't wearing a name tag. That's when I thought, maybe this why places don't make people wear nametags, so you aren't able to point out who is actually terrible at their job in this place.
Anyway, moving on, I was thankful she wasn't our server. We had a chipper lady. However she didn't seem to know much, and tried to giggle her way out of the questions we asked.
Our food came out quick enough. Our order consisted of a
Chef's Salad, no ham, extra turkey
Reuben with chips
Full Rack of Ribs, with regular fries
Taco Wrap with sweet potato fries
The chef salad was good, the turkey was fresh which was a nice surprise. A little disappointed in the lack of veggies with the lettuce. Could have spruced it up a bit more.
The Reuben was delicious, it wasn't soggy or anything, very pleased. (The dressing was on the side, I didn't ask for it that way, but that was how it was served, and I'm okay with that).
Ribs, looked so good, falling off the bone, yummy! My only issue was they had a bit of a kick to them (spicy) and the person who go them isn't a fan of spicy, he wish he knew that when he ordered them. We did ask the waitress as well, but the giggle answer of yeah I don't think they are spicy was the answer we got.
The Taco wrap was good, but the sweet potato fries were over salted.
I thought for the food they deserved a 3, but the service just kicked it down to a 2 because it's hard to get through a decent meal when you aren't comfortable.
Overall, I may go back again, probably 1 more time to see if the experience is different. The Pot Roast with Mashed potatoes looked really delicious, so I will probably try that, but if the service is the same, that is all the chances I will give.
