An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Oberer Mönchhof delivers refined Swiss cuisine with precision, balance, and clear culinary confidence. I started with the Entenleber, which was outstanding and perfectly prepared, rich yet elegant, and beautifully balanced by the accompanying elements. The flavors were clean and harmonious, allowing the quality of the ingredient to shine without feeling heavy. For the main course, the Rindfilet was cooked to perfection: tender, full of flavor, and paired with a sauce that was deep, structured, and expertly reduced. Every component on the plate had a purpose, creating a composed and satisfying dish. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is calm and intimate, and the service is attentive, professional, and well-timed throughout the evening. Considering the level of cuisine, execution, and service, the overall value is excellent for Zurich fine dining. A restaurant that truly understands quality, restraint, and consistency. Highly recommended

Was a quiet Monday in Zurich town. Just finished out lindt tour and chance upon this wonderful restaurant. "Oberer Manchoh is a fantastic find! The location is absolutely beautiful, and the food is even better. I had the foie gras, which was cooked to perfection. While I missed the cranberry sauce, it was still incredibly delicious. The steak was also outstanding. Highly recommend!"

This is a very nice traditional swiss house with amazing views to the lake Zurich that has been renovated. The menu is a one pager with several starters and several main dishes, with all kinds of flavor combinations. And they have a closed price for a 2 starters, a main and a dessert (drinks not included). The food was excellent: very well cooked and nicely presented. To be honest is the first time in 10 years that i see foie (duck liber) offered in a restaurant, almost no swiss person i know has ever heard of foie or even paté. Id like to remark that it's not the type of restaurant I would go any given weekend, since its very modern and creative, for me is more like a "special occasion" type of restaurant. The service was nice, although a tad slow. The starters took at least 15min to come, and from the second starter to the maim it took around 25min. The price is high, but you won't find this kind of food in many places, with so many well-thought, properly cooked, modern recipes.

We enjoyed a wonderful summer dinner in August on the breezy terrace with stunning view over the lake of Zürich. The interior is very cosy, a traditional Swiss chalet style. The restaurant offers a mix of Swiss and French cuisine. We liked the very joyful and tasty appetizers and the solid main courses. Wine selection is interesting with some good Bordeaux. The staff was kind and welcoming. It was very busy, so reservation is a must. We will come back. I recommend it 💙

I have been here already twice and we have always been happy. The menu has unusual and interesting dishes and seems to change often. The staff is friendly and helpful. Also the atmosphere is great because it is inside an old country house. With good weather there is a big garden with lake view.

Well, I cannot say anything about the food (which is supposed to be good), because we left this place before we could try it, because the owner insulted us very rudely. It was kind of an absurd situation: - from a group of 6, 3 ordered a degustation menue (99 CHF for 2 starters, 1 main course and 1 dessert), 2 ordered only a main course without starters - as my husband only wanted a main course and I wanted to have 2 starters and no main course, I asked the waiter if we could share a degustation menue, and he said yes. So for so good Five minutes later the owner arrived and accused us of trying to cheat by trying to share all the degustation menues and called us Betrüger (which means fraud). We tried to explain the situation, that we had asked the waiter beforehand and told him we would just pay normally (which was a difference of maybe 20 CHF!). As he kept on insulting us and accused us of treating him like a cretin, we decided to leave. When we were discusing this absurd behaviour and situation amongst us, he started to shout and told us we were not allowed to talk anymore in his restaurant. I still wonder what really happened in there Everyone in our group was really perplexed! This has never ever happened to anyone of us before, and we all go out for dinner frequently, and we have been all around the world. And all just because of 20 CHF less for a consumation of at least 600 CHF!!! As we were a nice group, we took it from its comical aspect and still laugh about this experience and by the way, we went to a very plain pizzeria with very friendly staff, so the evening was not spoiled but very rememberable. So, I cannot recommend this place at all, because for me, a nice dinner doesn't only mean fine food and nice design but also excellent service, which obviously does not happen at this place.
