Denver Area Restaurants Serve Furloughed Employees for Free | Eater Denver

"Government employees and their families can receive free meals, and the restaurant is hosting fundraisers (January 14 and 16) where 20% of dine-in and take-out sales will be donated to particularly hard-hit furloughed families; donations are also being accepted online or in cash at the restaurant." - Rebecca Treon

Google
Nice little neighborhood pizza place. 4.8 on reviews. 4 tap beers offered. Nobody that works here could answer even the simplest of questions about any of them. I was looking for a Wheat taste. No sample was offered. Being from Chicago I asked about a thin crust. A cold response of “We only do one crust” I asked if they could roll it a bit thinner. An immediate “No” we don’t do that!! Funny I’m a truck driver travel all over. I’ve made similar requests several times before. Never turned down before. Morgan was my server.Pizza was great!! Not sure I’d come back. Drove 9 miles to get here. Wouldn’t want Morgan to serve me again. I did tip 20% so lunch for one pizza and 2 draft beers $43

Located in a nice little walk around town. Nice exterior and interior set up. Staff super friendly. Just got my Cody boy pizza 15 minutes ago... one of the best pizzas I've had in Colorado since moving here in 2019! Well done. Will be back

Google
Coming from out of town me and my boyfriend was looking for good food and we came here and let me just say from the drinks Daniel made us to the chicken and spinach pizza that’s was delicious to the artichoke spinach dip and let’s not forget that deep pan cookie all the food was amazing to the point we had to swing back the next day!!! The atmosphere was quite and very Intimate they wasn’t busy at all we went durning the week idk if that matters or not, Daniel had a great conversation telling us about the history of the place and also pointed us to some other local spots to eat!! My experience here was a 10/10 didn’t get to get a picture of my pizza but when you go get the lunch special 6in pizza salad I promise you will not be disappointed we will be back every time we visit DENVER!!!

Google
Probably one of the best Margherita pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. Great service, real ingredients, amazing food. Highly recommend the bread sticks and deep dish cookie dessert! Staff were very friendly, and food came super quick! In our short stay at Denver we visited twice! Would come again in a heart beat!

Google
Great pizza, great service, every time. Perfect neighborhood spot for a lunch or dinner. You can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas here and the Spinach Artichoke Dip is perfect!

Google
I got the lunch special which included personal pizza with two toppings, salad and a soda. I love the ranch! Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend, as the waiter was attentive but not overbearing. Got refills when needed, had check-ins to see if we needed anything else. The pizza was hot and so delicious! I spent average 50$ for two people, which included tip. Overall a really great experience and loved the atmosphere. Thank you for a great lunch!

Google
Delicious pizza, the topping to crust ratio is great! Great service and atmosphere, lovely little neighborhood spot. Highly recommend!

Google
We had the family meal special which came with a 16" two topping pizza, two salads, and a side of bread sticks. We also ordered a separate appetizer of spinach dip. Overall the food was amazing since the pizza was well done and tasty. The salad portions were good enough to split between four people. Good amount of bread sticks and the spinach dip was so delicious as well. The service was great with bringing food out on time but we didn't get any drink refills during our meal. We also chose to dine in the outdoor seating area and it was amazing. The restaurant is located in a very nice neighborhood with some other small shops around as well. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to try some great food with a relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
This is a small neighborhood restaurant that seemed quite busy the night I was there. We almost did not eat there as we were told by staff that food service would be slow as one of their ovens was out and food orders would be delayed. Since I am not from Denver and not familiar with other restaurants we sat out the wait and ordered anyway. We had a waiter right away and immediately ordered cheesy bread and some chicken wings to get things started. A young lady appeared shortly after to bring us a glass bottle of water, some drinking glasses and plates. They must have some kind of water filter and refill the bottles for water service, this was a nice touch. Maybe 30 minutes went by and we received the cheesy bread, which was essentially a thin crust pizza without sauce but seasoned well with some garlic and was delicious. My party of three quickly consumed it as the wings were brought out. Wings were pretty good, I don't think they were fried but sauced well and had a slight crisp to the skin. I would order both appetizers again. Three individual pizzas were ordered and the pizzas were just as good as the appetizers. 5 stars for the food. The only place this restaurant is lacking is the service. Maybe nobody working here had any restaurant experience prior to working here but we had to ask for soda refills, first two pizzas were handed to individuals but the third was just dropped on the pizza rack without looking or asking who's it was. Kinda weird or maybe the young lady was in a rush. I did have a little "sticker shock" when the bill came, but, the prices were on the menu. Overall I would eat here again if I have the time and in Denver.

Yelp
Grabbed takeout on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised with this place. We ordered a Buffalo Chicken pizza and a half-and-half with their Margherita and Sweet Danny Dean. Everything was hot, fresh, and ready quickly and which made for a super easy pick-up experience. The pizzas themselves were some of the most solid I've had in Denver. Great flavor combinations and hold up really well for takeout. Will definitely order again!

Yelp
Pizza was very greasy. The cannoli was a pre-bought shell filled with overly sweet filling and topped with Hershey's syrup. Better pizza to be had in this city...I just haven't found it yet. Why is it so hard to make a good pizza?!
google avatar

Haleh M.

Yelp
Food was incredible! We got an order of cheese bread, champagne salad, and three 16" pizzas for six people and left with a whole pizza worth of leftovers. Mushroom pizza was my favorite but the pesto caprese was also delicious. Our food came out promptly and our server was excellent. It's a pretty small space but seems like they fit a lot of customers! Also have an outdoor space.
google avatar

Mariah L.

Yelp
Pizza was really greasy, wasn't hot, and wasn't crispy in the slightest. Calzone busted open and both the calzone and pizza seemed burnt: very weak garlic butter. Flavor - however was pretty good
google avatar

Chad G.

Yelp
Very cool pizza shop, well worth my 20 minute drive! Great flavor of toppings and the crust is fantastic. I also got the wedge salad and it was delicious with tons of toppings. I'm looking forward to trying other meals here. Their use of Toast and the communication is fantastic.

Yelp
Vegan review- 100% yes. We were here for a trip and decided on this place because they did have a vegan option. This was the cutest place! We all sat in the patio and the weather was perfect for it. We had a group of 8, but because they didn't have enough space to put two tables together we sat separately, but that's fine, we were just hungry and ready to eat. I ordered the veg with vegan cheese. O.m.g. The most amazing pizza ever! The cheese melted just like real cheese. The crust was thing, soft in the middle and crispy at the end. It was perfect! I also got a glass of the pineapple Chardonnay, a perfect companion to the pizza. If I come back to Denver, I will 100%come back here!

Yelp
I can't believe I've lived just three minutes away from Obilio's all these years and never stopped in! Easily one of the best calzones I've ever had -- and I consider myself a bit of a calzone connoisseur. It was absolutely loaded with toppings, perfectly baked, and huge! Definitely enough for two meals. I ordered online, and it was ready right on time, still piping hot when I picked it up. Can't wait to come back and try the pizza (and maybe another calzone or two).

Yelp
I feel compelled to update my review. After a year-long boycott I decided to try delivery - recalling that the food itself was good and rationalizing that if things went off the rails again I'd at least be at home. The delivery estimate was 45 - 60 minutes and I'd guess the food arrived in 40. The pizza was great, the salad was decent (albeit a bit smaller than I would have preferred), and the ranch tasted house made. While I'm not sure I'm ready to dine-in again, Oblio's will absolutely be in my delivery rotation.

Yelp
Oblio's was fine. It's a cute little place with some great outdoor seating (if it's nice out). But overall, our meal was... bland. I ordered the arugula salad with chicken and the chicken was dry. The salad was fine though. My parents ordered the pasta with meatballs and the sauce was sweet but otherwise also bland. The meatball was also hardly covered in sauce. It seems like a pizza place so maybe we should have ordered pizza, but I was hoping for something more. My favorite part was the cheesy bread but that was extremely greasy. Finally, all we wanted was some more water and it wasn't until we called them down that we got more. So... again it was fine. I probably wouldn't go back but glad we tried it.

Annemarie E.

Yelp
Really tasty pick-up pizza. Crust thin and well cooked. BYO option offered plentiful amounts of prime items (particularly Bella mushrooms). Friday night at 6 was crazily busy and the wait was understandably longer than expected. Did not appear to be a great time if you were trying to eat in.

Yelp
Would love to give this place 5 stars, but there's consistently things missed on orders. Today, ordered a pizza that had whole pizza toppings and half pizza toppings. Instead, got two separate half pizza toppings. The whole pizza was supposed to have pepperoni, sausage, 2xmushrooms, and garlic. One half of the pizza did not have any of these, only the additional toppings that were on the half. At least this time they got the marinara sauce. Last time we ordered, they missed the marinara cups and I just - in good faith - didn't check when I picked up the order. Sure, it's dollars and cents here and there, but it's consistently a miss here and there. This is one of the better quality - good sauce, good dough, ample toppings - pizza spots in town when they do get it right, but the 30 minute drive for pickup, 30 minute drive home to find out your order is wrong or missing is discouraging. Hopefully this review can encourage more attention to detail. For now, will be leaning in more to some other pizza spots.

Yelp
"Good Pizza, Terrible Service -- Won't Be Back" It took over 45 minutes for our pizza to arrive...again. This is the second time the service has been painfully slow. The pizza itself is good, but the in-house service is just awful. Watching other tables wait and staff move at a crawl made the whole experience frustrating instead of enjoyable. Not coming back.

Mark P.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant last year when I visited Denver pizza and wings were delicious also, their salad was amazing. I ordered online because I wanted to eat and my hotel but the service was great. They were very busy, but I totally like the vibe. I could definitely see myself eating here again. I'm actually visiting Denver next week and I will definitely be ordering from here.

Yelp
We found this a few years ago, and it's our go to. When we found it the owners were very available, and it worked better than it does now. ,

Billy S.

Yelp
As a fellow small business owner--and a pizzeria owner myself--it genuinely pains me to leave a negative review, especially for an establishment with such a great name. We ordered Oblio's for delivery three days ago. One of the pizzas arrived nearly inedible, with about 90% of the toppings completely slid off and stuck to the box. The pizza also wasn't properly cut, making it impossible to pull slices apart without tearing it to pieces. These things happen. I understand. No one in this business sets out to make mistakes. What I find truly disappointing is the lack of response since. I messaged the business directly that night, including photographs of the pie in question. The message was seen. I also filled out their follow-up email survey with detailed feedback. It's now been three days with no reply, no apology, and no attempt at resolution. Mistakes happen. Ignoring them shouldn't. This is not how you take care of customers in this industry.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place as it's right next door to where we take our kids to get haircuts. It's always smells so good. But man it was a huge disappointment! It was not good! The pizza was undercooked and soggy. The waiter we had was not friendly in fact he was a bit a rude and short. Don't be allured by the smell like we were! Our kids didn't even eat and have been telling us how hungry they were on our ride home!

Michelle S.

Yelp
Every few years we try Oblio's again. And every time we are reminded why it's years in between visits. Tonight, dinner for our family of four was $90 bucks including tip--pay close attention when ordering online because the tip buttons start at 30% for take away. Not delivery, but the pick it up yourself orders start at 30%. That's crazy. Morgan is still cheap and still nickel and dimeing folks. Ranch? That'll be an extra dollar. Pesto? Another dollar. Garlic butter for your $2 raw bread stick? Another dollar. (and the garlic "butter" is liquid at room temperature). Adding pepperoni to a cheese pizza is $2.50 and they'll forget to add the pepperoni. They won't forget to charge you for it, though. For the taste and the poor service, Oblio's still just isn't worth the money.

Yelp
Decided to stop by with my kids for the first time yesterday while visiting Denver. Incredible little place! Our waitress was very kind and gave great pizza recommendations, my new favorite now is the Bomb pizza. My kids also enjoyed their small pizzas, even asking for extra. Beautiful atmosphere and quick food, would highly recommend. Will be coming back for more

Charm G.

Yelp
Been going to Oblios for years but the new owners take extra care to provide a great experience-the pizza was hot and tasty, and he texted us the next day to follow up! Well done!

Yelp
My husband and I were on the search for pizza in our neighborhood and found Oblio's in our google search. I'm glad he placed the order because we found our new pizza spot! We ordered a pizza, cheesebread, and wings. All were super delicious, with our pizza being half luau and half a more picante. The teriyaki wings had the perfect pairing of flavor and just a little bit of crunch on the skin.

Yelp
My first of what will be many trips to Oblio's, and walked over three miles round trip to try it! Warm and inviting with indoor and outdoor options, Oblio's is celebrating its 26th year, but only six months with a new owner. And they have a terrific place, combining high-quality food options with extraordinary customer service. That's a tough-to-beat tandem. Greeted by a kind staffer whose name I didn't get, and then our server (Marco) rocked it throughout the visit. We told him that we were newbies, and he proceeded to walk us through their menu to get to a conclusion. Thanks so much, Marco! Sat outside, and it was outstanding, as they provide a canopy to protect against the sun and the elements. Loved the dog bowl just outside their fence, which provided several sniffing and licking introductions from furry friends! Ordered a large pizza, with one side the Mambo Italiano (pesto sauce, chicken, tomatoes, bacon, ranch dressing on the side) and the other The Godfather (red sauce, meatballs, ricotta, mushrooms, red onions, garlic, and a balsamic glaze). Wow, so darn good. LOVED the Mambo Italiano, and the balsamic glaze on The Godfather was memorable. I'm not sure what I will get next time, and I don't want to get on The Godfather's bad side. And then... exceedingly good dessert, a warm chocolate chip cookie served in a large tin with three scoops of vanilla ice cream. Spectacular, and I did not leave any evidence it ever existed. This Park Hill restaurant has been on our radar for a while, but faced with hunger and a without a car for a night, we trekked it and were so glad we did. Without a doubt, coming back here soon.

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Best pizza in town! We love extra crispy and Oblio's delivers (literally!) Great neighborhood spot.
google avatar

Mike Whittaker M.

Yelp
Great pizza and wings, but Skip the pasta we used Uber eats for the first time thin crispy crust and dang good sausage give it a shot, it was my first time back in Colorado in almost 40 years!

Daniel M.

Yelp
Food took 45 minutes from the point of pickup and was ice cold. Will not order from here again.
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Really nice local italian joint specializing in thin crust pizzas. Service was excellent and food was great - Caesar salad, spin/artichoke dip were top notch. The 3 pizzas we ordered were excellent as well.

Kevin G.

Yelp
The food was excellent and the right proportions for one person! The server came out greeted us like we had been a customer for a long time! Plenty of room to either sit inside or sit out in the open atrium area.... Kevin G

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a long time after seeing the photos of their pizza and continuously drooling. I'm so glad I finally did! I ordered for pick up this time, but I will definitely be back to eat in-restaurant. The pizza I got was fresh and the special order toppings were not only correct, but it all tasted so good together. The pizza dough was cooked exactly how I like it and I'm pretty particular about my pizza after living in Italy. My order was ready for pick up right on time so it was still hot when I got there. The restaurant itself is quaint, and that makes it all the more appealing to me. I can't wait to take my husband here for date night! I only spoke with one person from the staff, but he was friendly, very kind and funny.

Diareni G.

Yelp
I ordered the 10" Gluten free crust Amore Piccante with vegan cheese. It was really good, very flavorful the vegan cheese was really good with it. Only disliked that the pesto sauce was a little too oily which you'd expect from the pesto, but it was a bit excessive. Next time I'll try a different sauce. But overall the gluten free crust was delicious, I enjoyed my pizza.
google avatar

Edwin I.

Yelp
I'm not sure what they put in there red sauce, but WOW! I recently moved here from Boston and was surrounded by amazing pizza (Regina's Pizzeria was my favorite). After trying this pizza today, I can confidently say that Oblio's has made it to the top of the list of my favorite Pizza! Their website talks about quality ingredients and you can 100% taste them in every bite. Can't wait to try their other food! *** I ordered the Luau *** For all those meat lovers! Red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, meatballs and bacon

Kelly C.

Yelp
Terrible service, food was expensive for what it was. Such a bummer. "Kids meal" $14 Waiter expected us to move plates around our tiny table after refusing to split up tables so we had more space with our group, handed us things while we were eating which is so strange. The purpose of a server is to allow for the party to experience dining out. We were having to do his job, which would be fine if tip wasn't expected. Pizza was ok, nice options on menu for many ingredients (which probably adds a lot to their cost) but ended up with a soggy crust and overcooked toppings. Great cocktails and wine but unfortunately not nearly enough to return.
google avatar

Savanna L.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza places in Denver! The champagne pecan salad was the perfect blend of tangy, sweet, and savory. We got the point pizza with pepperoni instead of bacon and it was delicious! If you have never had cream cheese on a pizza, give it a try. Our server was very friendly. The outdoor seating is perfect on a warm day. They also make a great Shirley Temple!
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
I was hit with the urge to try a new pizza spot last night, and we gave Oblio's a go. We got delivery, so I can't speak to atmosphere or service, but the pizza was good! I appreciated the wide selection of specialty pizzas, which included quite a few vegetarian options. I also love that you can order a half-and-half pizza, even if the bases use different sauces! I tried the Margherita and The Rock Man. I preferred the latter, and felt the Margherita was more like a plain cheese pizza with basil on it than a classic Margherita. I also wish the blue cheese was more prominent in The Rock Man. It was there, but subtle. I enjoyed the meal though, and my leftovers reheated well for lunch the next day. My husband liked his Sweet Danny Dean (bbq chicken) pizza, but not enough to save his leftovers.
google avatar

Frantsy R.

Yelp
Wow where have I been that I didn't know about this spot so close to me. The pizza is so delish nice thin crust comes out hot and delish. We tried the Margherita (wowza) and the Mushroom one with white sauce (can't remember name) that margherita by far won out. The red sauce was delish with the pop of basil. The mushroom I didn't love but it's personal preference. The staff was attentive and friendly will be back for more Margherita

Yelp
A local Pizza spot that didn't disappoint! Great deals!!! Delicious pizza! And friendly accommodating staff!! We're from California, but we will be back & highly recommend this place!!!

Christina D.

Yelp
It was our first time trying Oblio's and WOW! Amazing food, best pizza and subs in Denver. Marco the manager took great care of us, and the atmosphere was perfect. We can't wait to become regulars here.

Pinksparklygangsta J.

Yelp
Don't miss this pizza if in Denver. It's so amazing, we ate it 3 nights in a row while visiting! Twice there, once delivery! It's so flavorful! And the deep dish cookie will be giving you a When Harry Met Sally moment!

Derrick V.

Yelp
Found a cockroach baked into my pizza! The staff was very rude wasn't apologetic about the situation. But said they could remake the pizza! No thanks.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
The food was Delicious! Visiting family for holidays and this pizza was the best! Had a huge order and everyone was happy. Gluten free crust for one of pizzas was so good couldn't tell it was gluten free. Amazing customer service, very kind people! Our family whom lives here will also continue to be customers . I want to eat here every time we come back to visit!
google avatar

Sara T.

Yelp
Excellent! This little pizzeria is in a gorgeous Park Hill neighborhood. We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The pizza was great. If you go for the lunch special, it is a great deal! You get a small personal size 2-topping pizza, a salad, and a drink. (My mom said her pepperoni and ricotta cheese pizza was the best pizza she's ever had.)

Colleen J.

Yelp
Only thing worse than the food is the service. Please let your team know that you can't comp a meal that never comes out.

Alma F.

Yelp
Stopped by and bought some pizza, wings and Cesar salad. The kids and hubby loved the wings! The service was good also

Jim H.

Yelp
We've eaten here several times both take out and eating-in. The pizzas are great...really good, as are the salads. The last time we went, we ordered a salad and a 16" pizza. The salad came quickly and was excellent. After waiting a LONG time for the pizza, I got up to ask about it. The server went to check and came back to tell us that someone had ordered the same pizza to go and they gave ours to them! He said he would start a new one for us but did not even say he was sorry, or offer anything nice to compensate! If I had been paying, the tip would have been ZERO. We'll not go back for a while.....despite loving the food and the ambiance.
google avatar

Meagan D.

Yelp
This place is really great!! Was looking for a vegan pizza for date night and came across Oblio's and thought it would be perfect for me and my non vegan partner. They loved their non vegan pizza, and mine was equally as delicious! Melty vegan cheese, tasty sauce, and really good drinks too! The service is incredible too, everyone there was friendly and kind!! Glad we tried this place, we'll definitely come back to this adorable little area!!
google avatar

Yelp
A cozy little Italian pizza spot! Inside is very cute and cozy with a bar. Service is very friendly. We went during off hours and they were very attentive. The speciality pizzas were mouth watering - highly recommend their specialty pizzas!

Yelp
Oblio's, our neighborhood pizza place, is under new ownership and you have to check it out! We arrived at Oblio's during Restaurant week roughly an hour before the Avs played the Sharks. Let's just say that the pizza we were served was so tasty that it was demolished by myself, my husband, and our friend--much like the Avs later demolished the Sharks on the ice (5:0). The spinach artichoke dip absolutely stole the show; served with toasted baguette slices, it was creamy, delicious, and un-put-down-able. Then, on to the pizza, which included traditional ingredients with delightful twists: - the Godfather: a meat lover's pizza with ricotta, red onion, and garlic; excellent yet not too salty marinara sauce - the Grinch: a pesto pizza with sausage and a delicious surprise: Brussel sprouts! Oblio's is cozy, with warm service and a delightful selection of beers and wine. I could absolutely see us going here regularly as our neighborhood place. The new owner, Drew, is also very open to feedback and suggestions and we wish him all the best in his new endeavor! We will be back hungry for more Godfather style Pizza a'la Oblio's!
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
I ordered about 6 pm for delivery, the pizza was finally delivered at 730pm it was cold! I'm sure the pizza would have been great if it was delivered an hour earlier, I'm in a hotel, no microwave. If I were this business, I would have takeout only. I could have picked it up and saved all the fees and the tip I gave to the driver!

P S.

Yelp
I placed an order to go. I walked in and had to ask for help after standing there. Pizza was not edible. I asked for wings to be 1/2 and 1/2 everything was on side. Pure garbage. DO NOT EAT HERE!
google avatar

Brooke G.

Yelp
I've always heard good things about this pizza joint, so when it was on the restaurant week list, we made the trek. Unfortunately, I can't give it a better rating. I'd instead give it a 3.5. The service wasn't great and was sort of odd. We got there at the tail end of a rush and watched it empty and refill. The server for the adjacent tables was very attentive, but she'd walk right past our table with dirty plates or empty drinks and ignore us. The worst was they would bring half our order out at a time. Awkwardly, my pizza and dessert arrived up to 5+ minutes before my partners. And we're pretty sure they forgot his dessert for a bit. The food, the Caesar salad, was bland. The pizza was better! The specialty pizzas on the menu sound amazing, so next time, we may try delivery to escape the mediocre service.
