OB's Pub & Grill

The food was so good! There was such a big variety of choices on the menu that I would definitely want to come back again to try out more. There were also so many sides to choose from (do not be fooled by my photos as everyone just chose sweet potato fries). I sat with a group of 11, and the staff were so accommodating (willing to do separate checks for everyone)! The vibe is great for a pub: lots of TVs and mirrors to see the TVs. I recommend trying this place out.

My husband and I went in today, on a Saturday afternoon! Kat greeted us really nicely. Great music! She was also our waitress and was awesome! My roast beef sandwich was awesome and so were the tater tots. Generous portions. I had the kobe sliders. Guess it is supposed to be on the rare side. I would ask for it to be more cooked.

TVs everywhere and decent food. A good spot to catch a game with friends. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Been coming here for years, and our experiences have continued to be a bit disappointing due to the service. Our waitress came off as pushy and impatient, repeatedly encouraging us to order more drinks even after we politely declined. It felt like we were being pressured to keep buying drinks. Once it became clear we weren't planning to keep ordering rounds, her attitude noticeably shifted. She seemed eager to move us along, and wrap up the table, which made the whole experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. We understand that turnover and tips are part of the business, but rushing paying customers out the door because they’re not drinking fast enough is not a good look.

We try to come here just about every time we're in town. Friendly servers, friendly locals, and very good specials (MONDAY is rib nite, for instance). Very pleasant spot on the main drag through town, but laid back with no rush. We'll keep coming back as long as they keep this up along with reasonable prices.

Favorite neighborhood watering hole. Lawrence and Julie are the best bartenders ever. Amazing food and warm atmosphere. Friday Karaoke is always a good time.

Looking for a place to watch the game? You found it. Most tvs per square foot that I've ever seen! Spicy chicken sandwich was great and the ribs got a big thumbs up..

While in the area for travel I wanted some good wings. This places popped up so I decided to give it a try. Well worth it! The wings was amazing and cooked to perfection. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. I now have this saved as one of my favs for wings.

Found this gem open during these trying times. They are open for takeout so I ordered the Southwestern Burger and it is fantasticly delicious. I ate half in the car but was able to take a picture before I devoured it. The service is excellent from all and the chef has no problems with special request. If your looking for a place to get a great fresh meal during the shut down this is the spot! When this is all over and I will definitely treat myself to a sit down visit. In the meantime, i will enjoy takeout. Thank you for feeding me!

Still love this place for breakfast The breakfast menu has something for everyone, and if you can't find what you want you can always just ask for a special order. With tons of big screen tvs you'll never miss a game. Swing by and snag a drink and some good food. The service is excellent and the ambiance is super chill.

Came here for King Trivia on a Wednesday night and had a blast! I had called to see if reservations were needed, or a fee paid or anything else I would need to know prior to arriving. The young lady who took my call said, 'Nothin'! Come have a good time and play some trivia. He starts at 8pm.' Parking is metered at the street. 2 Hr limit until 6pm. Upon arriving at 7:30, we were greeted warmly by, I would guess, an owner. She invited us to have a seat anywhere. When I mentioned we were there for trivia and asked if there's a section of the restaurant for that she said, 'No, any seat is good and the whole restaurant is invited to play.' Cool! We got a great spot, she took our drink order and we and dove into the menu. Our server came by to greet us and answer any questions. I was happy to hear they create their own flour tostada bowls, so I went with that. Hubs chose a beef quesadillas. His was a very generous serving, which I ended up "helping" him finish - it was really delicious and the red sauce had a little kick to it. The chicken, beans and such in my salad was good but, unfortunately, the tostada shell was a bit too greasy. They had a Wednesday Stir Fry Special I think I should have gone with, but no worries. Next time! We were checked with regularly and all the employees were hopping to keep the patrons - many regulars and locals - happy and cared for. We had a lot of fun playing Trivia and Jason was a great host. We also appreciated that the other teams were fun and welcoming. Competitive and smack talkin', but lots of laughs and all were having fun. In the end, we came in 2nd and claimed a gift card! So we will definitely, and happily, be coming back to OB's. Cheers! Fun, local MB bar that has been around for years. Locals come here to congregate and watch sports. Best day to go is Taco Tuesday...$4 tacos in MB. Where are you gonna get a deal like that. Generous size beef, chicken and fish tacos to decide on, add guacamole and sour cream for extra but definitely worth it. Highly recommend the beef or grilled fish tocos, chicken taco is a little dry but still very tasty. If you have a BIG appetite, I dare you to take the 10 taco challenge. Service is hit or miss, more likely because they only have one waitress servicing all the tables.

So much fun! Felt like we were just hanging out with the locals. People were awesome, Moscow mule was on point! Met some really cool people and can't wait to visit this area again so I can come back here. Oh, I almost forgot, I ordered fried zucchini and wow, such a treat!

Its very unfortunate that this occurred. I've been coming here for a couple months while some of my friends have been coming here for years for trivia. There's a presumed "2 drink minimum" on trivia night and my group rarely ever misses the mark on meeting that since we like to patronize the establishment and the trivia guy. We tend to get food too along with the drinks. However, this past Wednesday, 9/11/2024, a new server was taking our order. Right when we were about to make our order, she immediately tells us that there is a $30minimum buy, and that if we don't meet it, she'll have to charge us the difference. We were so baffled by that comment and she was so aggressive in her attitude about having us meet that $30 minimum. First of all, a "2 drink minimum" isn't even near $30, when did this change? 2nd, while she was taking our order, she kept insisting and asking us to order more to meet the $30 minimum very aggressively and rudely. At one point I had to tell her to relax and that we're probably getting more drinks throughout the trivia night. She stopped to finish taking our orders and kept reiterating that if we don't meet the 30$ minimum, she'll have to charge us the difference, as if it was a threat. Unfortunately, it didn't stop her from dropping by and keep dropping the same phrases and statements about how if we get a couple more drinks we'll meet our $30 minimum! It felt like harassment at this point, and I couldn't really enjoy my meal or trivia itself because she would constantly hover us and harass us about ordering more drinks. In the end we did but not because of her incessant nagging and rudeness. I don't recall any other table being harassed by it, but I can't confirm entirely because the bar was loud along with trivia. This was such a bad experience that my group is probably not coming back again even though the trivia was a great time to meet up and hangout.

The drink here are terrible. This has been the Worst service I have ever experience. The "owner" the dusty old white guy kicked us out because he didn't like how much we tipped after experiencing his ass service. (He threw my card across the bar while standing directly in front of me.) Last I checked tips are earned and not expected ms attitude. Do not come here if you do not want watered down drinks or to order from a male Karen.

The corned beef and cabbage is one of my favorite meals ever! The people who work there are amazing!!

This is a great local hangout. The locals are friendly and welcoming and the staff is great. Thursdays are awesome for the discount burgers. I had the Manhattan Beach with guacamole and cheese and a side of tots. Delicious and priced great at $12. OB's is a couple blocks from the beach so it's a good place to hang out before or after playing in the surf. They have TVs playing seasonal sports and a good mix of music. I recommend a visit when you're in Manhattan Beach!

Very cool divey bar atmosphere vibes. Taco Tuesday they have these giant tacos for $3 I had the Maui taco, pretty good. Loaded with a lot of lettuce, but I like that. Margaritas (house tequila) are $4 on Tuesday and shots are $3. We had to add a shot to our margaritas to give it a kick. Overall, I enjoyed my day there and definitely would come back on another day!F

OB's has an electric atmosphere providing entertainment for customers of all sorts. Fun music and lots of TVs. Went on a Thursday where there happened to be a burger special - any burger on the menu plus a side for $11.95, the burger itself was large and delicious, and overall a great deal. It's nothing fancy or gourmet, but it's a very tasty classic burger. The Southern Swell Burger is served with an incredible and high quality hot sausage link on top. There was only one waitress so the service was on the slower side but they were very nice and friendly. I'm not sure why, but they have SO many barstools around very small tables. Even without the restaurant at full capacity, it was hard to get in and out of our table because of random excess chairs everywhere.

This place is a hard Skip! From the moment you walk into the dust, old oil, and low self-esteem smell, the waitress and bartender (probably owner) are unwelcoming and seem bothered by your arrival. The cook was the only one working, scrubbing the walls like his life depended on it. Didn't have a chance to try the food but the whole atmosphere turned my stomach anyway. Sad business in a decent area. They should close to allow for an establishment where they welcome business and are happy to be given the opportunity. OB's is over, move along

Worst Service I have had. Never have been there before and was meeting some friends for Tacos on Saturday around 1pm. The server questioned my order, ignored me, and sat down at another table and took a shot with a customer. When I was trying to close out for a round of beers, she asked me twice why I was closing out and then was wondering if it was the noise. Just requested to close out and ended up leaving. Not sure I will go back

Wow. Never ordered food at OB's and after a great to go order of Baby Back Ribs and a turkey sandwich this place is on top of my list. Ribs were perfect. Sandwich one of the best I've had in years. Portions are huge. Keep it up OB's!!'

NATIONAL TACO DAY OCTOBER 4TH!! SO.... my friend and I went to a well known Mexican restaurant across the street for taco Tuesday, to our surprise and disappointment, they had 0 going on. A little birdie said, "check out the pub across the street, they have great tacos!" Of course you know that's what we did right! Ordered chicken tacos, they were loaded and freakin HUGE!! (please forgive me for not taking a pic). The Bartender promoted their tacos, and they were soooo good. Def going back next Tuesday. P.s. ate one there and ate the other for dinner later. LOVED IT!!

It's loud, good dance busy with an array that of ages. Good place to have a girls night or guys night.

Avoid this place. Server was so unprofessional and rude. When I asked her politely to change a Coke that tasted weird she said: 'do you realize that you are not at home? This is a restaurant!' Really bad service. I wouldn't give them any business.

Food is great. We've tried almost everything and never a bad meal. All drinks have been excellent. It's a local pub which combines it all. We've no financial interest, just to make sure you will love it.

Great service, classic sports bar ambiance dark and moody with tall tables barstools and booths and that funky pub smell. Food was large portions classic pub fair. No gluten free option for buns or bread. I ate the potato skins. Drinks were ok. It was Trivia night which provided a fun activity and atmosphere.

I've been here several times, no attitude, just fun. A group of us came to watch the NCAA hoops Championship, Virginia took the 2019 title. By the end of the night the floor is covered with peanut shells. Super chill atmosphere and ambience! The steak taco I had was delicious, it was a good compliment to the IPA on tap that I was drinking. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean and huge! The servers are all gems.

Rudest service I have ever experienced. I walked into this bar with a group of girls for my friend's 21st and was immediately kicked out because they assumed we were coming from another bar. We came to this bar because her last name is O'Brien and nickname is OB, yet they made assumptions and immediately told us to leave.

OBs just permanently lost a group of long time customers with their terrible attitude and policies. We've been coming for trivia night every single week for about two years at this point. Suddenly a new waitress with an attitude comes in trying to force a two drink minimum. They are claiming it's always been this way, again, we've literally been there every week and nobody's heard of this policy. We order meals every single week, have been good customers who tip 20% every time, apparently that doesn't matter. Our teammate is a surgeon and doesn't drink because he is basically permanently on call, and my husband and I are trying to be more health conscious, especially on weeknights. Apparently that doesn't matter either. It's a weeknight, ordering meals should be enough. Or at least some kind of food minimum instead. To be clear, they wouldn't budge, so we left, after all this time, and won't be back. We're highly disappointed in OBs. What a disappointing ending and trash experience after such a long run enjoying trivia night there. Shout out to the Wednesday night cook though he is so sweet and always hustling. And Bonnie is great too!

I decided to have another shot at fish n chips in OBs after a 2 year absence, and yes it filed the spot but in all honesty I wouldn't be tempted to go back due in part to the service which was slow. The fish n chips were ordinary I'd have to say and I didn't see any love or passion to deliver them either. Ok the bar is a good hang out place for a happy hour drink, plus it's a good vibe being close to the beach but I'm afraid that's all I can add.

Fun place, great vibe and pub feel. Friendly staff (especially Lindsey), good food (don't skip the brownie!). Friday fish and chips are solid.

Fantastic atmosphere and always a fun time. They have many televisions always playing the latest games.

Slow service. Sat for 10 minutes and didn't even get water even though the waitress came by to let us know she would bring it. Left and on the way out told them they're too slow. She said sorry it's just her on the floor but meanwhile people around us are getting served. Something's not right at this spot. Do not recommend.

Amazing service by Liz! We came in with a party of 15 with all separate checks (I know I know but it was from a party bus and only some people knew each other and we felt so bad) but she was so attentive and quick! She handled us all so well and was so on top of it. We took over a good portion of the bar but it was still pretty crowded with other patrons and never let us see her sweat. The kitchen got our food out quickly and it was good. I got a pastrami sandwich and it was perfect! Another server clocked in a little after we got there and he jumped to his feet helping take care of everyone. I was so impressed

First time ever I was expecting a karaoke night but since the pandemic no entertainment at the moment no big groups. I hope everything gets better soon. The waitress Erika was so nice and friendly. Wonderful service thanks OB's for the Friday night.

Fantastic little sports bar with super friendly service! We stopped in for an after dinner cocktail and ended up staying for 3 little after dinner cocktails. They had the Olympics on the TV's and great music playing..70's pop...they make a great Old Fashioned and Irish Coffees BTW

Ideal intimate beach bar. Affordable prices, incredible tv experience (all upgraded recently), friendly staff...a true gem at the southern tip of the south bay!

Finally got a chance to go in and have a couple beers there. It's basically that local hot spot for brews and game watching. I definitely like the vibe there, just casual and chill. Location is on the tip of Porto (beach community that is part of Manhattan Beach) and next door to another bar and across Pancho's Mexican restaurant - great area of choices when your hungry, thirsty and/or just walking around there from the beach. People were cool, just having fun - my type of place where you can just be yourself and don't have any competition of whose the cooler group, couple or feeling like your constantly being watched or judged by locals or total strangers. (Yes, I came from an area that is a dog eat dog world in their little minds). Anyhow...Didn't eat, but was sitting where they were cooking - it looked & smelled good, we saw that the cook was following health guidelines to cleanliness, however I'm still skeptical as whether I want to eat there after reading that one review about a dying rat on a plate - yea...not good. Service was good too - they were attentive, even though it was starting to get crowded. We'll definitely be back for drinks and a game, interested in the happy hour specials and trivia night everyone's talked about. I like it there more than the bar next door, it just seemed casual fun, not a trendy w/a ton of youngsters spilling out of it. People were either dressy-informal to tank top and shorts/beach wear, etc; we were in our workout gear (black yoga pants, t-shirt, visor & drawstring backpacks) so it's a bar you'll feel cozy in. Parking - you all know it's Manhattan Beach and it's always first come, first served and the rest of you our on your own to hunt down a spot further or more like far out when it's summer time and just walk - it's very doable since there's always something to look at to keep your mind busy & the conversion flowing.

Solid spot. Solid beers on tap. Trivia on Wednesdays are always fun. Foods pretty good too. If you're looking for a good beach bar, this works.

Came for the trivia night with a group of friends. All of us enjoyed the food here. The servers were really friendly and helpful. My nit pick is not having a drink menu available. They did have a beer list at the bar on a black board which was helpful. The other patrons were friendly and we had a great evening. Parking was really painless with the city parking lot across the street.

My friend celebrated her birthday "taco tuesday" style here. It's hard to get seating for a large group of people at any typical bar. A few of us got here early enough to get several tables. Everyone had piles of dry roasted peanuts on their tables just munching away. There were peanut shells all over the floor. I didn't get it....until I saw a huge barrel full of peanuts at the corner. PEANUTS ON THE HOUSE!!!! Luckily those peanuts held me over because I was starving. I didn't want to be rude because I had to wait until my friends were ready to order food.....NOT because the service was slow. Most of us got Fish Tacos $2.75 each while others got beef and chicken. I REALLY REGRET ordering the fish. - the tacos are huge (I don't mind the size if it was good but this was a case of quantity over quality) - the fish had a very "fishy" taste (I had to pour a ton of salsa and guac on top) I had my first Moscow Mule here....never had it before but probably not for me. Service was good, our waitress was very nice. Although she messed up on my bill....it wasn't her fault we had a huge group of people. And she apologized. We parked for free 2 blocks away up on Rosecrans and walked down to the pub. There is also a parking structure with meters down the street.

Good times and good food. It's the draw for me when it comes to living in or around Southern California's beach cities. Just wish the parking was better. A Sunday night, a few weeks ago, me and one of my dart teammates ended up looking for a place to grab dinner after a dart blind draw tournament. We ended up at OB's. And to sum things up - it was good times and good food! Service was great - and even with our server being brand new. She was friendly, helpful and attentive. She's either served before and or enjoys what she does. Pretty cool vibe as far at the atmosphere goes. Decent food selection too. I opted for the Louisiana Swell Burger. I really liked the combination of flavors - just wished the sausage was spicier. But good nonetheless. I tried a local craft beer that went well with the burger - just don't remember the name. Pretty mellow IPA. it's a beach city so parking is what it is. No view of the ocean but it's across the street and down the hill to the water. Definitely on my list of places to go back to, if I'm in the area looking for food.

Used to come here with friends on Wednesday nights for trivia night. We sucked at it. We think we're too young to get all the references. I think they took pity on us once and let us have a bonus round win and scored some chilli fries. Sad that was the one time I didn't come. Fond memories and good times were had here.

My dad and I stopped by here after a nice bike ride from Manhattan to Redondo Beach. We got lucky because it just so happened to be happy hour on Sunday when we got here! We just ordered fries, calamari, and a beer. The fries were to die for. I'm a bit obsessed with fries and so is my dad. The calamari was good too; sometimes they can be too breaded, but these weren't. Everything was half off too, which made the food taste better :) I forget if the beer was half off, so don't quote me on that!

Erica, Liz, the chef ... the whole team is so great. We are happy we have a spot to hang out here. Little Wright enjoys the place too. Nice TVs. Good games. Aims to be friendly with everyone.

I eat here often, today I have to say I'm quite disappointed. I ordered a BLT and added avocado. In times like when delivery and take out orders are keeping your business Alice; maybe when someone orders avocado on something, try giving them $1.50 (what you charge) worth of avocado. The amount of avocado was pathetic for the price. Also asked for the bacon wells done, the ends of the bacon weren't cooked thoroughly, I had to disassemble my sandwich to recook the bacon. It's not a cheap place to eat, give your customers what they pay and ask for. Shame on you!!

I was just there tonight and I asked her the bar tender for a tequila with club soda and I also asked for a Voka and club soda the bartender was very rude I asked her what is your problem why are you mad I'm asking you for two types of drinks and she looked at me and she and gave me racist look .. didn't say anything and look at me and said get out of my bar I argue with here ... why you kicking me out I'm a business man around the area. She was rude and kicked me out with security Never had the audacity to tell me .. I got the understanding my skin color don't match.. cause I ask her and she never denied it .. I get it I'm in Manhattan beach I'm from the valley on super bowl Sunday ...,, she said get out my bar I don't serve you

The daily specials are great! Friday fish n chips is a good deal, and the fish is really good. Thanks for always giving great service Liz!!

Go here for trivia and the waitress is just painful!The same single server every time and we've tried to give benefit of the doubt since she alone but after a few weeks it's obvious she doesn't care. Felt guilty ordering food because she so clearly doesn't want to be here. Don't write reviews but this is coming from someone in the industry. Won't be ordering anything but beer here. Get her some help.

Friendly service but took FOREVER to get our food. I think people come here mainly to drink. Too long to wait.

OMG, there are shells on the floor. Is someone going to pick that up? What the hell?! We came here after having dinner at Fish Bar. It's walking distance and more reasonably priced for the drinker in me. We came in (never being here before) and felt pretty welcomed. There were two servers and a bartender. Our drink order was taken right away and promptly served. There were a good amount of TVs on and mirrors that were placed (to probably make the place look larger but also) so that you can see the TV's behind you. I thought that was interesting. Our tab wasn't too expensive. It's what I expected. I'd come back. :)

This bar was super fun. Our server Erika made sure you we were taken care of. We came out for Karaoke Friday and it was so much fun! Great music, great crowd, it was definitely a locals spot in the best way possible. Bartenders were kind, drinks were great, service was awesome-- especially for how busy they were. We ended up getting hot wings and they were FIRE, a nice surprise as bar food can be a little touch and go.

Super cute place. We came here for super-bowl the last minute and had a pleasant experience. The nachos is good. Beer is great as always and the tv's are everywhere. I mean everywhere! Waitresses work super hard and fast. No ego. Easygoing and family friendly. Would come back fo sho

The service was awesome - The drinks were served quick, cold, and with a smile. Did not have any food on this visit but will do next time. It was the cooks birthday tonight and they made everyone in the bar feel like we were part of the OB's family. Thanks! we definitely felt the love! Will visit again soon!
