18 Best Restaurants on the Outer Banks | Eater Carolinas

"One of the year-rounders, Ocean Boulevard, is a long-time Kitty Hawk favorite. The menu highlights classic dishes like grilled rack of lamb, pan-seared scallops, fried green tomatoes, and crab bisque. True to its name, the cocktail menu plays up martinis and other classic drinks, alongside some tropical creations for those looking for a beach party (go for the South Beach). With a more casual bar menu alongside a separate vegetarian menu, Ocean Boulevard is a crowd pleaser." - Matt Lardie

It was our first time to Outer Banks and my husband and I wanted to find a date night spot. We came across this place in particular and were impressed with their seafood dishes and boy, they did not disappoint. Our food was PHENOMENAL. We got the tuna starter, the dinner special (which was tilefish) and It all was to die for. Not to mention, the presentation was also very professional. We ended with the delicious crème brûlée for dessert. Service was EXCELLENT, our waitress was attentive and our water glasses were refilled numerous times. We will be coming back on our next trip.

Google
Wow! What a gem on the beach road! Fresh warm bread to start, fried green tomatoes appetizer, caesar salad, filet, and I had duck. It was amazing! We finished off with chocolate gateau and creme brulee. Lemon martini and fresh iced tea. It was all so delicious! Promptly served but not rushed and we could see the chefs from our table. Next time we're eating at the chef table! Highly recommend! Great atmosphere! Perfect for celebrating a special event but heck we went because we're celebrating life! Service was right on point. No complaints! You must go!

The food and drinks were delicious, staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the cozy and intimate atmosphere made for a wonderful anniversary dinner during our getaway in the Outer Banks.

Dane is an AMAZING bartender!!! We went 2 days in a row just because of him. The food and atmosphere was quaint and comfortable. We had the rosy cheeks martini, jerk beef tips and the roasted veal meatballs. This place was one of the best parts of our trip. #ChefsKiss

Google
The service and food were amazing! We will definitely go back. Some entrée options can appear pricey, but they are worth every penny! I went home still reminiscing about my crabcake special.

Google
Good upscale restaurant and martini bar. Had the salmon as well as rock fish entries. Both well prepared and presented. Suggest reservations.

Google
The staff was fantastic, extremely helpful, and attentive. The food was spot on with creative flavor profiles and great presentation. The chef designed a great menu and they have a special menu for the more picky eaters and Vegetarians as well. I would recommend this place as a must visit for anyone visiting the Outer Banks area.

A lovely evening with Todd! Funny, knowledgeable and a great server. Had the scallops, crab cake and shrimp app - all delicious. Highly recommend both Todd and Ocean Blvd!

Yelp
This is a gorgeous restaurant with some serious chef magic going on... To start, we sampled the peppered seared rare tuna appetizer that was a home run. Thinly sliced, perfectly seasoned, even the pickled cucumbers on the side were somehow beyond outstanding (literally just pickled veggies that were 5 stars). Next, the main star--the roasted semi boneless half chicken. I know, who goes to the beach and orders land bird? Well, by way of explanation, I saw a photo online and thought-that looks interesting and I'm gonna try something different-and now I feel very wise. This dish is mind-blowing. First, the chicken skin was perfectly crispy and the seasoning was so on point that I almost cried a little...that's before even realizing how moist and juicy it was, because it came out so piping hot I had to restrain myself. And that oyster/mushroom/bacon cream sauce...I felt like I was in Europe, the execution was simply magnifique. The (darker) interior ambiance, talented chefs and phenomenal martinis really set this place apart for couples and small dinner parties that want a true upscale dining experience. 10/10.

Yelp
Definitely get a reservation before hand, every seat in the house was full and we were there in a Wednesday. The food and service was excellent! The pepper crusted tuna went great with the complimentary bread to start. The pan roasted duck was excellent! I added that it was my girlfriend's birthday on the reservation and the hostess brought us chocolate gateau with "happy birthday" written in the plate. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in OBX.

Yelp
Sketchy service from year to year. Great award winning rosemary martini. Food and service are not reliably good. Disappointing.

Yelp
Every single time we are in the area we stop at Ocean Boulevard and it NEVER disappoints! The service, the food, the ambiance - everything is outstanding.

Yelp
Great freah fish, scalops were seared perfectly. But the absalute best part was our server Brian, he was so enthusiastic and his exsitment about the menu was infectus, he went over the entire menu and made great sugestions. His services was quick polite and was just a joy.

Yelp
A first stop on the night of our 25th wedding anniversary, and our first time visiting, the Bistro was a hit! Tasty drinks and appetizers, friendly service from Dean, and cozy seats at the bar, even though the restaurant was full for reservations (and we could see why).

Yelp
Great dinner, great service. Tikefish was excellent, perfectly seasoned. Had the macadamia nut tart with homemade caramel ice cream, unbelievable! This is a great option if you are in the area!

Yelp
Dined here this evening for Mother's Day. We arrived shortly after they opened and were greeted and seated right away by very friendly staff. We ordered an olive tray, soup, salad, appetizer, Walleye and NY strip, along with wine and a Bloody Mary. Our server Oksana was absolutely perfect in every way. Our items came out perfectly timed and in order. She was very pleasant and informative. The food was amazing. Great presentation and flavor. We will definitely return and we highly recommend you give it a try. We had a great view also from our table upstairs overlooking the ocean.

Yelp
Had an outstanding meal last nite at OBLV. The plate was simply delicious! ( tile fish chef prepared ) Brian the server also was very accommodating

Yelp
Occasionally I have a dining experience so wonderful that I am sure that I will remember it fondly for years to come. This meal was one of them. Fish prepared to perfection paired with creatively delicious takes on traditional sides. Excellent service from every person with whom I interacted. Beautiful view. Wonderful!

Larry R.

Yelp
As usual it was a great dining experience. Great food, atmosphere and staff. This is a regular place to dine when you are tired of loud or noisy restaurants. Here, you dine, you don't just eat

Yelp
This place has some of the best food on the Outer Banks. The pricing is fair, and the service is always outstanding. So why the 3 stars? Imagine for one moment sitting in a seat that feels more of a tourtue device than a seat. Maybe what they use in North Korean prisons. If you're getting the idea that they're not comfortable then I'm painting the right picture. The benches they put you in are horrendous and the primary reason that we're not regulars. AND WE'RE YOUNG(ish)!.. but I said something the last time I was there and the older lady next to us leaned over and said "we have when they seat us here". The chairs aren't much better and I haven't ate at the bar so I can't speak to their stools, but I will say it has a nice ambiance and I would eat there if my S.O. wanted to. So in conclusion- Great food, great service, good ambiance (maybe a little too close to other tables/People), but it's an exercise in pain management the entire time you're sitting there, and to me comfort makes up a quarter of the whole enchilada.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and great experience overall. The food was tasty and the flavors were complex and walking into the restaurant felt so cozy and perfect! We loved it!

Yelp
Visiting for the weekend and decided to dine here tonight. Aviator cocktail - boozy and flavorful Fried green tomatoes - Delicious! The blue cheese crumbles and Goddess dressing added a very nice flavor contrast. Gobbled it up Baked chicken and kale - lukewarm but really tender. Mac and cheese - wowsers! Very flavorful. I'm not sure if blue cheese and parmesan was included in the sauce but it definitely tasted like it. The portion was gigantic - much more than I had anticipated. The bar is beautiful, has a classic tavern feel. There was a wait just to sir at the bar, so I'd recommend arriving early or making reservations.

Yelp
There are so many great places to eat between Kitty Hawk and Nags Head and a little beyond, that it has taken us years to finally get around to trying Ocean Boulevard. Now I want to take guests. We went for Ms T's birthday with son AT and SD. This was a Sunday evening and we had a great meal. If you are looking for a little more upscale dining and an alternate to the always busy Kill Devil Grill and Colington Café, this is highly recommended. You will add it to your list. We had reservations, but being well off-season it was not crowded. I think on this night you could have walked in and a table, but I would not recommend it. Ocean Boulevard is not a large place. It is very nice and the service was excellent. They have a fairly decent wine menu but we passed after having already killed a couple of bottles in the afternoon. We started with an appetizer of nicely done chicken livers that we were able to share amongst the four of us. They were fried perfectly and not dried out. They were mild and not bitter like they can be. SD ordered a delicious plate of seared scallops AT and I both ordered that were served on vegetable risotto with mushrooms and broccoli. They looked beautiful and AT stole one from her and declared that he should have ordered them. I almost ordered the scallops, but instead went for the special Rockfish seared and served over homemade noodles with merguez sausage, asparagus and pan sauce. The birthday girl ordered the Chef's Fish Selection served over jasmine rice with some shrimp and a very good pan sauce. The fish of the day was grouper. All these dishes were excellent, well-conceived and well executed. You are going to spend a little more than in most places in the area, but sometimes you want to break out of fried seafood mode (although delicious) and have something that a chef prepares. As I said, I do look forward to bringing future guests that stay with us while we are here.

Yelp
Service good, table by window cold draft, food beautiful presentation but no flavor - bland - scallops were not good - overall disappointing

Yelp
My wife and I went yesterday. The food was excellent. The service was top notch . The ambiance is classy. We loved the entire experience and the macadamia dessert was amazing .

Yelp
This place is odd... I give the wine list alone four stars because it was pretty great. Overall the oddities of the service and meal brought it to 3. Starting with the check in, when the host struggled to understand my name wasn't spelled with an "A" it took a weird turn. This presumably upscale restaurant has you sitting in red park bench (see pic). Not only is it uncomfortable, but it doesn't match the martini bar theme that has piano music playing over the speaker. The menu was "fall" despite it being Summertime. The flavors resembled fall (think thyme, sage, root veg...) and it was an odd juxtaposition to the 85 degree weather outside. The kitchen was somewhat open and you could watch a guy cooking in a fedora. No ocean view, but good view of a sand dune and sky for a sunset. The duck was rather flavorless and came swimming in broth. Rogue carrots and celery made the dish somewhat savory. The duck was fatty, hard to cut with a knife, and flavorless. After eating some and moving some around my plate there was a hidden piece of bread under the kale that was actually the most flavorful part of the dish... but odd nonetheless. My husbands lamb had all the flavors of fall. The reduction was pretty good. Service was also strange... we ordered wine and they were out. Upon telling us he said he would have another bottle of wine to offer, but they were out of that too. No other wines were offered and we went back to the list. Luckily, third time was a charm and we found a good one at a nice price point.

Yelp
The service was exceptional. They allowed us to come in over an hour early. Upon greeting us they took our coats and wished us a happy anniversary since I noted that when making our reservation. The server was so sweet and gave great recommendations. I had the roasted chicken and my husband had lamb but before that we had two appetizers... mushroom soup and fried green tomatoes ... WOW! Yum. Then we shared a goat cheese salad that was incredible as well. The entres were so good!!! All the plating was beautiful. Atmosphere sophisticated and warm. Even though we were full we had the berry bread pudding with home made homemade ice cream ... again, incredible. We can't wait to bring some friends to come back. Thank you for a beautiful way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

Yelp
What an amazing experience and dinner. Cozy downstairs dining, upstairs there are views. I am assuming you have to reserve those special. We had the fried green tomatoes and the blue cheese was unusual but I loved the Flavor. I opted to just go the shrimp and grits vs an entree, they were some of the best I've ever had. The drinks also were amazing!! They did surprise me with alittle extra touch on our crème brûlée. Best food from start to finish!

Russell B.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and ambience. And they make a mean martini! Great place for a special occasion.

Yelp
It has been a few years since I've been to the Outer Banks so when I read about this place obviously I had to try it. When we walked in we had reservations (make sure you do that) the lady who greeted us was less than delightful but that's whatever. Our server was great! Everything from the drinks to the desserts were delicious. I'm pretty sure you can order anything and it will be good. We sat right in front of the kitchen so we got to watch the meals being prepared and let me tell you, these people are professionals. Everything is fresh and made to order. I don't even think there's a microwave in that place. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
What a great spot. This was a recommendation that I wasn't so sure about. I was pleasantly surprised. This place only will seat you with a reservation, which I didn't know when I came in. I walked in around 5:30-5:45pm looking to make a reservation for 4 an hour or so later (after we went to Tap That a few doors down). That seemed to be pretty shocking but Heather was able to accommodate us at the chefs counter. Little did we know that was the perfect spot for us. We came back at 7:15pm and got seated at the counter and it was an amazing experience. We got to see everyone working in the kitchen. Turns out that Heather, who was at the front when we came in, is actually the owner and she was running around leading everyone in the kitchen and it was just a really cool thing to witness. The counter was set up nicely with candles and nice cups and we got the menu, nightly specials, and more. We ordered bisque, Mac and cheese, and beef tips for appetizers and we all got drinks (cider, sour, and wines). For dinner, we ordered the chicken, NY strip, duck, and pork chop. Everyone was impressed with their meal. The only downside was that we were too full to order dessert! The bill wasn't too bad. Ended up being $50 or so a person before tip. We spoke with Heather at the end and she told us about the origin of the restaurant and how her husband is the executive chef. What a sweet place. Didn't know if was owned by a couple who was there in the weeds working hard all night and have been locals in OBX almost as long as I have been alive. So awesome! If you go here and don't get the best seat at the chefs counter, sit upstairs if possible. There are great views!

Yelp
Great food in a great atmosphere. Highly trained and professional waitstaff. This is a gem.

Barbara M.

Yelp
Being from Hawaii we didn't order any seafood. We started with Gibson Martinis. That's a Gin martini with onions, our favorite. Then had Green Fried Tomatoes! So yummy! I had the Tenderloin and my hubby had the NY strip steak. Cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables and rosemary potatoes. Absolutely perfect. Wonderful meal on the OBX!
google avatar

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place. Great service and the food was fantastic! Place inside is old school but liked that. My wife liked the bench seating but I would have preferred something a bit more comfortable.

Jamie S.

Yelp
Heather was very rude! We walked in to have martinis as we did two nights ago and she was so nasty! Martinis are good HEATHER not good!
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
I'm a regular in the OBX, but have somehow missed this spot. First, this spot takes reservations which is rare but so helpful. Second, want a step up from the tourist spots or fried foods - this place really elevates dining experience. Oh and did I mention, martini bar?! The restaurant is situated in an old house, so we were seated upstairs in a smaller room. The room had three tables but just because of size was a bit loud. Also, they have a tv above one of the tables which really isn't needed. The room has a nice wine cellar and feels intimate and the tv detracts. We enjoyed their selection of martinis and wine. For dinner, I chose the roasted half chicken and loved it. It was so creamy and rich. Pro tip- there is more food on the wine menu. For dessert, I had an affogato (not on menu but I made my own). Overall wonderful experience.

Yelp
Wonderful drinks and food. I love sitting at the bar. Bar staff are very friendly and customers interact making it a pleasant dining experience. Looking forward to trying a meal. So far only tried apps which are truly amazing.

Yelp
Not yet today by time near dinner time going there with my couples or worker for easy etc or there then would ppost this when done!!

Yelp
Our second visit, this time with friends, and all considered worthy of 5 stars. Simply outstanding start to finish, from the service, to the drinks, the appetizer's, entrees and desert. Fried green tomatoes and the crab bisque were awesome. Entrees included scallops, the NY Strip, and the Chef's Fish selection. As with last visit, the scallops were perfect. The NY Strip was done perfectly (and if not a mushroom fan can be done with without the Porcini Mushroom Demi-Glace). The Chef's Fish selection - wow does not do it justice. Every part of the dish, from the actual fish to the rice, ginger-dashi broth to the wasabi cream cheese & crisp wonton were perfect. The only complaint would be no spoon to get all the delicious left over broth.
google avatar

Leslie L.

Yelp
Wonderful place to hear that you are the one he wants to spend his life with. I said yes! Champagne. Strawberries. Kissing. The food was wonderful all the patrons added to the magic Absolutely delicious place to share an evening with those who love good food and love.

Fat Man Reviews K.

Yelp
On our final food adventure in the Outer Banks, Fat Man Reviews went to Ocean Boulevard Bistro and Martini Bar in Kitty Hawk, NC. Ocean Boulevard offers intimate dining while featuring surf, turf and local ingredients. The Fat Man tried the OB Sazerac, made with Wild Turkey Rye, bitters, simple syrup, served in an absinthe washed glass. The absinthe smell comes through immediately and the licorice taste is present throughout. The bourbon, syrup and bitters are all present with a sweet finish. For our starter we had the Roasted Wild Boar Meatloaf. This came with roasted potato and chili hash with a green tomato ketchup. The has been cooked well with a hint of heat, the meatloaf was juicy and seasoned correctly. The ketchup was amazing. It was sweet, thick and reminded us of apple butter in consistency. Everything together made for a wonderful bite. For my entrée I tried the Pecorino-Bread Crumb Encrusted Black Drum, this also came with goat cheese polenta and basil and EVOO ratatouille. The polenta was spectacular. It was creamy, seasoned well almost like a mashed potato with a pepper finish. The ratatouille was well-balanced, the vegetables were cooked spot on with a great tomato flavor and nice spice level. The black drum was flaky and had a great crust on it, but could have maybe used a touch of salt. My fiancé had the Chef's Fish Selection, Canadian Walleye. This came with shrimp, portabellos, stewed cannellini beans, artichoke hearts, red peppers, greens and tarragon ricotta. The walleye was flaky and cooked well with good flavor. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The ricotta was creamy and tasty, the peppers and greens were tender. The one miss was the beans were a little under cooked, plus the stewing liquid was watery and made the dish messy to eat. Ocean Boulevard offers a decent sized menu, and it changes per the season. They have a large wine list and a great martini and full bar. The servers are excellent and helpful. The Fat Man says that Ocean Boulevard Bistro and Martini Bar is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

Yelp
My wife and I were staying at a place a few blocks from the restaurant and the owner of the unit we rented spoke highly of the place so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. Drinks were excellent. Probably one of the best Old Fashioned I have had. We got the Fried Green Tomatoes as an app. Never had these before but they were very good and a good portion size to slit between two. My wife wasn't too hungry so just got crab bisque for dinner which was very good. I got Grilled Angus Beef Tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly and was very good. Both of us did get dessert and both were also very good. Definitely recommend as a stop if you are in the area

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants on the island, not to mention anywhere. We love to dine at the bar. It has a cool vibe and allows for a number of people to sit there. The cocktails are top notch and expertly made. My husband ordered a slightly dirty martini with blue cheese olives (the best olives he has had!) and I ordered the award winning Rosy Cheeks. Both were delicious, but could have been colder. We ordered the cheese board which had a selection of cheeses and crackers accompanying the board. We were also served a small baguette which was nice to pair with the cheeses. Our dinners were outstanding. I ordered the halibut with fresh pasta special and my husband ordered the pork chop special. I am still dreaming about my dish. Delicious!! We gave the coveted 5 * rating but if yelp would allow fractions we would rate it a 4.8. The drinks were not cold enough (no ducks on the pond) and the crackers were just ordinary Sociable type crackers. However we would recommend that you make sure to dine here when visiting the Outer Banks.

Yelp
Every time at ocean boulevard is a great time ! I have been a customer for almost 20yrs . The cocktails are amazing and the food is great . It's always nice seeing the same faces over the years . If the staff stays around they must be treated right and when they are treated right the food and service will always be on point . I had the best pork chop of my life last time I visited. The restaurant is always very clean. I swear no water spots or finger prints on any glass or silverware . Table cloths always looking brand new and no sand or dirt on the floor . The managers , waiters and cooks are the best ! On the weekend they have live music played outdoors on there side patio. You can you can listen to the music enjoy great food and if the waves are big enough you hear the waves crash right across the street . The only thing I would change is get rid of the old ladies (hostess) who are not welcoming and never have it together unless they recognize you as a "local" . When you go out to dinner and spend $200 a simple hello , hi how are you, good evening etc ........not the do you have a reservation? What's your last name ? It's just rude and shows you have no class def no southern hospitality . And when leaving they should say thank you , have a nice night etc .

Ev M.

Yelp
Service is always above the top, and the food is delicious! I got the chicken livers and they were FANTASTIC. The tuna tartare was the best I have ever tasted!
google avatar

Roar R.

Yelp
The food was a disappointment. My Granddaughter had the Duck which was bland, needed seasoning, I had what was supposed to be seared scallops but they were not done enough for me. Only one side seared. It's over rated and food wasn't worth the higher price, also need more room, tables are to close. The owner g oh t an attitude with me & made me feel lime she was trying to bully me I will say this, my martini was excellent!
google avatar

Madison G.

Yelp
Delicious dinner at Ocean Boulevard Bistro. I had the beef tenderloin with rosemary potatoes and fresh green beans topped with a mushroom wine reduction glaze. My mom had the pan seared scallops with risotto and veggies with a pretty orange sauce. We finished with sharing a their house made pastry of the night which was a coffee cake with home made hazelnut ice cream. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The waitress was very accommodating to food requests and very friendly. It is recommended to have a reservation because they fill up quickly. Overall a great dinner so much so; that no one went home with leftovers because we enjoyed it so much.

Yelp
My wife and I dined here last night. We had a really good experience. Our server was Kendall. He was pleasant, professional, and very welcoming. He checked in often enough to ensure we got everything that we needed. He's a pro. The food was very good also. We ordered the tuna sashimi for our appetizer. It was fresh and tasty. There were many components on this one plate of food. In addition to the seared raw tuna there was a squid salad, soba noodles with a sesame dressing, a cucumber salad and a fried wonton wrapper. Tremendous value for this great appetizer. For entrees, my wife got the grilled fish chef's special, yellow fin tuna. She liked it. I liked mine more! I got the lightly breaded and sautéed flounder. The fish was fresh and moist. It sat on a bed of risotto and spinach/carrots/onions. This risotto and vege combo was outstanding. Dessert was two scoops of homemade ice cream. Caramel and espresso. Both very creamy and flavorful. A perfect end to a great meal. So why not 5 stars? Your going to roll your eyes on this reason. 1st you need to know this is a white table cloth higher end restaurant. The gentleman helping Kendall our server was dressed in a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops. He was absolutely inappropriately dressed for this type of dining experience. It bothered me each time he filled my water glass. I think the Gen. Manager of OB Bistro needs to set better guidelines to ensure diners have a first rate experience. I told you you would roll your eyes. Kidding aside. There are a lot of choices in the Kitty Hawk/Nagshead area for a really good dining experience. You should definitely move OB Bistro up on your priority list of dining spots...and have the ahi sashimi appetizer!

Yelp
Best restaurant on the Outer Banks, in my opinion. We NEVER have a bad meal. Excellent service. We come to visit my parents 3 or 4 times a year and make a point to get to OB every time!

Stacey Gabrielle C.

Yelp
Had an amazing meal here with my fiance. We both absolutley love this restaurant. Both food and drinks are exceptional and we can't wait to dine here again when we visit next time.

Yelp
Went for a birthday trip for one of our group. Sat outside just across from the Ocean dunes and had a great meal. This place is definitely aiming for the higher end, and the food / prices / average age of clientele reflect that. Most entrees were $30+. We had Scallops, Duck, Salmon and Halibut amongst other things. presentation was great and dishes were tasty. Their menu includes a page for Martinis - We tried a couple. The day we went they had some live music outside, although outdoor seating is limited. Inside was a slightly more formal atmosphere and some older diners. Worth a trip for a higher end meal.
google avatar

Leon S.

Yelp
A good restaurant if a little overpriced in my opinion. There's a lot of good going on here, but I left a little underwhelmed. The seafood we got, the Tuna Sashimi and the Scallops were too notch! Fresh! So fresh. The Pan Seared scallops is a really good dish, and I highly recommend it. No grit what so ever in the scallops, the flavor was awesome and the Gnocchi have a savory and well seasoned taste. The Spinach and herb reduction on the scallops complemented the dish really well and pulled it all together. The Pepper Seared Tuna Sashimi was good also, the noodles and mushrooms all went well together. Again, the tuna was super fresh. The Fried Green Tomatoes were good, but a tad over fried. The greed goddess dressing was good, but not the best partner of this dish that I've had. The Pan Roasted Duck Breast was cooked well with a nice salty crust on the skin that ties the dish together well. The downfall of this dish was the black beans. They kind of felt as though they're just thrown in there for some reason and didn't really belong. A solid dish that could be improved if the black beans are replaced with something different. The Mac 'n Cheese comes in a mini cast iron skillet, and is super hot and cheesy. My kids are real picky with their Mac 'n Cheese, and they both loved it. My wife ordered the Rosy cheeks Martini. It was ok, but tasted more like a lemon drop. I ordered a bourbon martini that was similar to an old fashioned, it was good. Service was good, fast and efficient. We sat outside on the patio which is a decent size. I wish you could see the water, but as is the case with most of the OBX, you can't. Parking was ample and behind the restaurant. A solid choice in the OBX, give it a try.

Yelp
Service food and drinks very good.. one question where is the handicapped bathroom?we were told that they only have one upstairs??...also please clean up area where the musician plays outside...there is wood piled up behind the small stage and old uncomfortable seating falling apart for patrons not eating outside but having a drink and listening to music

Yelp
Unlimited delicious bread, it's a win for sure. Sashimi tuna wasn't that good but maybe it's me? Shrimp on top of a piece of bread was okay, wouldn't get it again. Their fish special was swordfish and look, I've never had swordfish I'm not a fisherman I'm a tropical land creature. Sword fish just kind of tastes like white fish, it was good, wouldn't get it again, but let me tell you what to stay away from... this chocolate Gary Gautama ghetto brownie cake. Just wasn't good, was lukewarm then BAM burned your mouth with a molten core, to be honest tasted like a brownie but it was dangerous. More risk less reward, service was good, and they take reservations. They do that cheesy water thing where they need 3 big clear bottles to fill up water for your table instead of just using a water pitcher like normal people.

Yelp
This is an absolutely wonderful place to celebrate an anniversary or just to grab small plates and a martini at the bar. We have always had excellent service abd the food is excellent and beautifully presented. Their suggested reservation option has always been a plus for us to go there for specific occasions or just light tapas dinner at the bar. We have always had a consistently wonderful experience and I highly recommend giving them a try. The fact that they are on OpenTable is an extra plus for me. Living on the Outerbanks does not give us a whole lot of options for places that take reservations, this is one of the very few places.

Yelp
My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. The hostess was friendly and helpful with parking information. Their main lot was full, but apparently they own the neighboring lot too. We were sat right away. Our server was wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We had some starters (very small serving size which was actually great so we didn't get full before our meal) fried green tomatoes, NC shrimp bruschetta and the chowder were all delicious!! My husband got the Manhattan and I got the rosy cheeks martini (both good so we had a second one!) My husband got the grilled yellow fin tuna dish that had an Asian flare and I got the rockfish dish with sautéed vegetable with some kind of cream corn sauce. We loved every last bite! My only complaint is the noise level and the close quarters of tables. Not very private for a romantic dinner. However maybe if you request seating upstairs.... I heard you have an ocean view and it's a little more quaint. All in all it was a great experience and we would definitely go again!!!

Yelp
Excellent service by Daniel: food is very good and the ambiance is tremendous. Be prepared to wait or not be seated if you don't have a reservation.
