Stopped in for apps and s cocktail. Bar staff was friendly and helpful. Had calamari, grilled octopus, and Cajun spicy corn and Alaskan King Crab chowder. Chowder was phenomenal. Cala I was a little salty. Octopus was really good. Will definitely return!!

It was my birthday and wanted to go some where new and refreshing not the usual same old genre. Having dined at Chicago Cut expectations were quite high for our 1st Ocean Cut dinner. WOW! Liz our waitress was excellent very knowledgeable of menu and wine pairing. Brought several white wine choices for us to choose from. Liz knocked it out of the park helping us pick out seriously Delicious! dishes to go with our fish picks. Garrett was all over making sure I was having a Happy Birthday all of the staff was moving fluidly amongst all the full tables. They also have all of the to die for steaks that Chicago Cut has!! My group was in heaven with all the choices! I will be sending all of clients to this gem of the Chicago Cut restaurant group! HUGE Shout out to Terri D who has always been their to set up Epic nights out at Chicago Cut locations. We all thought prices were just fine especially with the seafood we have all fresh and perfectly cooked! Just Saying this because of other reviews. Ocean Cut top of our list for seafood in Chicago!

As the seafood focused sibling to Chicago Cut Steakhouse, you get the same attention to detail to your seafood as CCut gives your steak. Start your journey at their market and select your still on ice fresh fish. For those of us that enjoy a little surf and turf, they still have all the favorites from the fishes land relatives. I was lucky to be able to have tried 4 types of fish with 3 separate preparations. All were great but two stood out. The butter sauce prep did not overpower the Dover Sole. While the Gurnard was sweet as expected with a hint of the grill on the back end.

Good food and good selection of fish. Looking at the whole fish on ice they are fairly fresh but not the best I've seen. Bar staff was friendly and guided us to the best menu items. It's pretty expensive though and probably not worth the premium over some other options.

Food was amazing. Enjoyed 5 courses here. Only issue was that my bf asked for a wine recommendation to pair with his steak. The waiter brought him THE MOST expensive glass on the menu. With no heads up about the cost. Our meal was over $600 for 2 people. We shared 3 of the courses.

My wife and I dined at Ocean Cut recently and were very impressed. First and foremost, the service was exemplary. Our waiter, Simon, was terrific -- extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgable. We both ordered the prix fixe Elevation Dinner, which includes champagne and wine parings for each course. The pours were quite generous, and the food was absolutely delicious.

Our waitress was fantastic, but I witnessed her manager physically nudging her to check on tables when her tables were doing just fine. I felt bad for her. It was totally unnecessary micromanaging. Also, the food wasn't at a quality I would expect for the price range. I'm happy to pay any price for excellent food. This was mediocre at best, sadly. We did have excellent seafood the following night at the restaurant attached to our hotel, Kimpton Allegro, if you're looking for a nice local seafood option.

I'll start off saying the food was outstanding! However, the portion sizes were EXTREMELY small. My wife and I both ordered Surf & Turf. Each of us received 1/4 of a filet and 1/4 of a lobster tail, both sliced into thin pieces and served with a delicious sauce drizzled on the side of the plate. Again, it was very good, but at $60 a plate we expected more. My wife isn't a big eater at all. Half we through dinner she suggested we go to Harold's afterwords! On the upside, after we finished out main course the manager offered a free dessert wine and three of their desserts...cheese cake, a sorbet, and key lime pie. Although we weren't happy with the portions we hadn't complained, so this was completely out of the blue. Those were three of the best desserts I've had in a long time! We also each ordered a couple of drinks. They were stiff to say the least! We'd definitely go back for drinks and deserts, but only after eating dinner elsewhere.
