Ocean Echo Inn & Beach Cottages

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute set of cottages. The location was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was nice. We had 6 adults in the largest cottage and it worked out great (keep in mind there is only one bathroom, but we managed it fine). Since we were there for a wedding, the upstairs deck was very central and accessible to all of the guests. The little beach (Sunny Cove) right down the street was super cute - I grew up near Santa Cruz and went to many beaches there and never knew about this beach. We would definitely stay again!

We had a beautiful experience staying in the Blue Whale room! It was very clean and spacious with an amazing view from our room of the beach. The weather was perfect, we opened up our windows and let the cool fresh air breeze right into our room. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helped us check in quickly, they helped us feel very comfortable. I look forward to future trips out there. Thank you!!

A delightful place to stay. The room was excellent and charming and we had a bonus sea View. I don't normally comment on the shower or bathroom, but my wife declared it "ideal"! Breakfast was standard basic motel fare. For the location and charm of the place it was great value.

A nice surprise, the two bedroom was the perfect size. Quick trip for us but the little beach at the end of the street was great. Also easy walk to Twin Lakes Beach and the two restaurants. On-site staff all friendly and responsive. Note the parking lot pretty packed in, a full size pickup would struggle to fit. Great casual vibe and if we return to Santa Cruz will likely return.

The Ocean Echo Inn & Beach Cottages are a hidden gem in Santa Cruz. Just a short walk (2-minutes) from the beach, this hotel offers a quiet, peaceful setting away from the street traffic and with a beautiful view of Sunny Cove Beach and Monterey Bay. The hospitality of the staff exceeded expectations. They were welcoming, accommodating, helpful, friendly, and an absolute pleasure to be around.||The room and communal areas of the property were clean and well maintained. The ownership and staff clearly take pride in their work and understand the importance of customer service and customer relations.||I look forward to the opportunity to return to the Ocean Echo in the future.

Cute spot right by the beach! We had the dog friendly cottage and it was sooo cute! It had a kitchen and a gated patio equipped with a grill and table and chairs. Our pup Ruby loved staying there! There's breakfast in the morning and the staff was super friendly . Will recommend this place to others and be back!

Wonderful cabins with an ocean view. Our family gathered for a bridal shower. All coming & going at different times. The manager helped with quite a few details. We swam everyday & enjoyed the beach!

We have definitely found our dream place to stay with our adult children!! What a great location and the rooms are updated and charming. The location is a dream… 1 minute walk to a private cove with great local people enjoying the sand and sun. Every expectation was exceeded!! We will definitely return!

We had a lovely stay at Ocean Echo. The room was nicely updated, spacious and clean and we loved the location away from the busier parts of Santa Cruz. The kitchenette was sparely equipped, but we didn't plan to cook anyway. Unfortunately, the beach had flooded, so one of the best aspects of this location wasn't really accessible, but- it's October...The walk along East Cliff Drive in the morning was still lovely and the beaches were accessible close by. The continental breakfast was the best assortment for my taste of any I've had in similar lodgings. Thanks, Deb! The staff are friendly and helpful and we would stay again.

Would be four stars if it was priced according to its value. I would give it four but the vibe of cheap motel is just too big. Charging $1000 'for two nights? Those prices should reflect far higher standards. Not sure if this was a fluke because it was race weekend. I would stay again for $300 or less. Never ever for $500 a night. Not worth the convenience of beach. Air b n bs twenty feet away are cheaper and much nicer. Sorry Echo. That said, if you could get a couple families to Come with and all Share the space, it would have more appeal. I came alone and felt it wasn't worth the $. And extra for dogs??? Which by the way I didn't have but I would have been upset if I found out upon check in I would be charged more on an already over the top price.

We were very pleased with these accomodations. We were traveling with our dog and the layout was great for our needs. Deb the manager is the best. She is not only on top of things but very congenial and professional. The premises were clean and kept up. The room was also clean and we had everything we needed. It is a short walk to the ocean to see a great sunset. Wonderful area. I would have given a 5 star but not having HD available on the TV made me feel like we were living in the nineties. We are going to return.

What a beautiful stay. We were only there for the night, it was perfect for a last minute stay. Just listening to the oceans wave in on your patio. It's semi private. They have a curfew, some ladies were out pst curfew but they were having such a good time who cares how loud they were lol . It's a quick walk to Starbucks up the hill . A quick walk back down the hill right to the beach. Really soak up this gem. Definitely want to be back

It's a really interesting little spot and it's right by a little hidden beach. We stayed in the water tower building-kinda like a hobbit house or a bigger tiny house. Probably not great for elderly, but kids would love it. Our little dog had a hell of a time running up the stairs and throwing his toy down for self-fetch! Also a little outdoor area with a patio set and fake grass. Super nice staff. No frills breakfast items available.

We stayed at Ocean Echo Inn, in unit 10 Water tower on Wed. June 18th to Fri. June 20th 2025 While the staff was nice and the location very near the beach was great; We found a dirty butter knife behind the sofa but more alarming was the mushrooms growing in the bathroom. This could be a real concern for someone with respiratory issues, small children or pets wanting to investigate the growing mushrooms. As we checked out on Friday [6/20] we informed the staff and brought them in the room to see the situation. We e mailed Ocean Echo the next day [6/21/2025] to inform them but have had absolutely no response to date.

Adorable, (some) pet friendly rooms, short walk to the beach, beach view from different areas of the Inn, excellent location, food within walking distance too. We stayed one night in a pet friendly room. I thought the room was great, spacious, had a stove & oven! We were definitely comfortable and we had our 2 dogs with us. The breakfast was small but enjoyable (I had hard boiled eggs and coffee cake but there was muffins, bagels, fruit, coffee and tea available). The reason I only gave 4 stars was because the price is quite up there for a one night stay plus $50 each dog. It was a pleasant experience and I would stay there again but maybe not on the weekend when prices are up. Our stay was very short and the price was very high

Great place to stay close to the beach! The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room in the Inn had all necessary amenities including coffee, a microwave & fridge. Everything seemed updated, clean, quaint & cozy. The bed was a little soft for me, but I require a very firm mattress due to spine issues. I could hear the sound of the waves at night with the window open and even had a distant view of the beach! I love being able to walk a block down to the beach. The morning breakfast downstairs had a wonderful variety of choices! Starbucks is right around the corner as well and restaurants all close by. Great location between Santa Cruz and Capitola. Parking onsite was very helpful. I highly recommend this place!

My parents stayed here for their anniversary and loved it! The staff was very friendly and accommodating and they loved being right next to the beach.

First off. Got there in the worst of weather, but was going to make the best of it, for my birthday. About an hour checking in, the electricity went off. So we went to Crow's Nest, and waited. During that time Monique the person working(manager), contacted us to tell us the power may not be on tonight and offered us a stay at another sister hotel. We decided we liked this room we had, and we would tough it out. Monique was so very accommodating, for our troubles she provided breakfast and mimosas to our room in the morning. The room was clean had a great view and we were happy with the spot and can't wait to return when the sun comes out. Thank you Monique for your great customer service and making my birthday special, through wild weather and all.

Your customer service, particularly Deb, not the front desk girls who were great, was awful. She charged 2 guests the higher water tower room rate, when I stayed in a cottage that was much cheaper. I booked through the website instead of apps like kayak, Expedia, etc because I know they charge the hotel a fee. I thought I was doing a good deed. No. I booked the water tower room because I thought my family was coming and we have dogs. I ended up coming solo and a smaller cottage with a view, with a much cheaper rate, was available. I asked if I could change my reservation but she refused unless I paid the higher rate. I saw another family in the water tower while I was there, so both of us were paying the higher rate. That is ridiculous. I asked the front desk girls why they wouldn't give me the lower rate and she emailed Deb. Deb said no, and they charged me the higher rate. I do not recommend this hotel, and if you do end up staying here I suggest you book through the usual travel websites, that way you could get a refund. I would've canceled the whole thing but they were going to charge me the higher rate regardless, so I stayed in the smaller cuter room with the view, and left very unsatisfied. I could have booked it through kayak, got a refund, and then booked the smaller room. Also, I could have canceled when my family couldn't make it. Do not book through their website.

We have visited multiple times, have tried different rooms and have always been pleased. We like to bring our dog and appreciate that the pet friendly rooms are spacious and comfortable. We love that there is a dog friendly beach, food and coffee steps from our room.

Had to stay here after being evacuated from my apartment. Hospitality was amazing and I felt like I was basically at home. Very clean and cozy with a cute little table and kitchen. My dog also felt really comfortable there. I just read some of the old reviews and I think they may have done some work to the rooms and courtyard since those reviews were posted. I thought the place was adorable (and clean) and the girl working at the desk was very kind to me. I'd stay here again!

This inn is not only adorable, it is pet friendly and located right by the most amazing little beach! The views from the community patio are breathtaking. Our room was very spacious and everyone we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night, but I wish it was longer. We will be back!

We love Ocean Echo for it's location (close to family) and the beach, it's lovely deck area, quiet rooms, comfy clean beds, kitchens, helpful staff. We always look forward to our stay, now 6 years in a row.

We stayed two nights with our dog. The room was too dark as the overhead light. built into an overhead fan, was not working properly, and could not be repaired by the desk person we called. The toilet seat would not stay up by itself. Parking was difficult and required a tricky maneuver to get out (the motel was full due to Car Week crowds in the Monterey Peninsula. ) Although it advertises breakfast, we thought (for the $1200 [!] we paid for the car show weekend) that it would amount to more than the two hardboiled eggs, oatmeal packages, and packaged rolls displayed on an ugly rack in a room with no tables or chairs. What was there when we went were only two hardboiled eggs, , some dismal rolls, and 3 oatmeal packets! We visit Santa Cruz regularly to visit our children, but I would not recommend this place to visitors. I agree with another commenter who put on a par with a Best Western.......

Cute cottages with great access to the beach, very friendly staff and lots of interesting restaurants nearby.

Great place. Second time here. Lovely accommodations. Clean, spacious, quiet. Beach is moments away. Minor issues like the ants. Not their fault but I had to deal with it myself. There was also a lot of hammering which I took was to resolve a leak issue in the next room from previous day's rain. However wish I was given a warning or knock to say sorry we need to do this. Regardless, overall I enjoyed my retreat and look forward to next time.

My family and I stayed here for my sons birthday weekend celebration, we could not have chosen a better place to stay at. This place is so beautiful and has the cutest cottages. We loved how family friendly this place is. It's very close to the beach, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We are already planning to come back soon and we wouldn't stay anywhere else than here. Our family trip was truly great memorable here.

I chose this Inn on the recommendation of a friend. I was in town for my grandson's graduation. I was pretty disappointed. I would put it on a par with a Best Western, and not even a Best Western Plus! The beach is nearby, but it was littered with garbage. I have a small dog and I was charged an additional nonfundable $50 to have him in a "pet friendly" room. The room was austere. There was no comfortable chair, just a table and two wooden chairs, and a bed. There was a full kitchen, which was unnecessary for my stay. The bathroom sink drained very slowly, something I made the staff aware of when I checked out. For the amount I payed to stay my one night I expected a nice sit down breakfast, but not to be. Cold pastry, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and your typical bagged fruit. Served in a small entry way to their upstairs rooms, set out on a bookshelf. No place to sit except outside in two (only two) deck chairs or go back to your room. Honestly, next time I will just stay at a Best Western. I would have felt more welcome.

We picked this location because it was good for a large group. We were very pleased with the size of the cottage. Having a full kitchen was a huge plus as was the BBQ and outdoor space. Comfortable beds and linens were another plus. A beach cove was within short walking distance.

Very nice place. Lcoation is perfect. The Captains Cabin was a perfect ocean view room. We enjoyed our tiem there. Staff is very helpful and friendly. All in all great stay and service.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay! So did our puppy! We stayed in the water tower cottage which has a private area in front with a bbq and table. The front yard of that cottage is gated so it was perfect for our dog. Inside was clean and had plenty of room for all 3 of us. A family of 4 could comfortably stay in this cottage with the upstairs king and the pull out couch downstairs. We plan on coming back and staying a little longer. Beautiful beach is just steps away and is of course, dog friendly! * Edit: I just read some of the nasty comments of this hotel and do not agree with them. We spoke with 3 members of the hotel staff, all were extremely professional, helpful and welcoming. I'm not easy to please and have zero complaints about this place!

I was so excited to take my daughter away for a surprise mother daughter getaway after being cooped up during Covid. This was a double bonus in that I run a yoga retreat business, so I would be able to check out a new property to bring guests. We arrived at Ocean Echo Inn, and our room was darling until... I looked down at my socks and they were covered in black grime. I ran my hand along the counters and they too were coated in grime as was the bathroom. We literally could not put our bags on the floor because it would ruin them. I didn't want to ruin our night, so I just politely tried to clean the floors with paper towels. When I ran out, I went to the front desk showed them the blacked paper towels and asked if I could have a bag of rags and some cleaning supplies. She was very nice and got them for me. I said "Being that our room was over $590 all in, could someone get back to me?" She said yes of course. No one ever got back to me, so I emailed when I got home. No one ever responded. I spent my one expensive Covid getaway, cleaning for the first 2.5 hours that we were there while my daughter watched TV. I should have stayed home, my house is cleaner, and we have access to more channels. :-( I would have seriously given them so much more business had someone tried to rectify the situation in some way.

quiet location with parking, a few yards from small beach cove with nice patio overlooking the beach. 2nd time here rooms vary in size but all nice. front office normally closes at 900 i returned at 930 & realized i lost my room key. fortunately staff was staying late and was able to give me another key. highly recommend.

Where do I start? Perfect location, great price and the accommodations were exactly what we needed for our quick project near by. They were very friendly and made our check in easy which means a lot to my employees that have worked all day and just want to get their keys and go to the room and relax for the night.

The owner of this hotel charged my card $350 for a room that was canceled because of the tides/ weather/ advisory to stay away from the coast. Many attempts were made to reason with him as two employees assured us that we would get a full refund due to the weather. Beware of hidden fees as well- they charged my card an additional $120 pet fee when I cancelled my stay. Bad business.

We stayed two nights in June. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We brought two dogs and they helped us pick a room that had a small, fenced yard with parking just out front . *The two story room was clean and bright. The kitchen has a fridge, range, coffee maker and an assortment of cutlery. *The bathroom was also bright, with a tub/shower. *The mattress was fairly comfortable. It is a busy, beachy area, so there is some noise. We were here Sunday-Monday and it wasn't a problem. A fan is provided for warm nights. *The fenced front yard has a table and umbrella plus a gas grill. *The on-leash dog beach is just a few steps away and is very nice. Our pups had towels and treats on the shelf by the front door, which was a nice touch.* *There are many good places to eat and shop nearby. We enjoyed a very nice dinner at Lago del Como. *The only glitch was that the stairs to the second story sleeping area were very steep and our older dogs had to be bribed up and down the first few times. * We will definitely be back and would recommend.

This is the first negative review I've EVER written. Booked a stay through a booking website, arrived timely to check-in, late afternoon. Our reservation was paid in full. Front desk could not process my credit card for $100 incidentals. The card was valid. They told me they would be canceling my reservation. My two infants were in the car, crying from being hungry and exhausted due to the drive from Sacramento. I pleaded with them to let us check in and that we would settle the deposit later that night or first thing in the morning. They refused to accommodate us, despite our room being paid for. They cancelled our reservation and kept the money, citing their cancellation policy. Beware, read their terms and conditions VERY carefully. This goes for cancellations, pet, parking etc. Other guests have noted similar issues with hidden fees. Management is deceitful, unscrupulous and unwelcoming. Furthermore, the owner threatened she would send us to collections if we ever tried to recoup the money. Other people also talk about these practices and tactics. Do not stay here, spend your money elsewhere!

I stayed two nights and rented a room with an ocean balcony view. The room was beautiful and the location exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, they scheduled roofers for bright and early Saturday morning so I was woken up by several men o the roof stomping around, drilling, and hammering. They also had a view into the room as well as into the skylight in the bathroom which was over the toilet. It ruined the peace of the morning and the only morning I had to just try to relax. When I spoke to reception, she was very nice about it and said the work was supposed to be done before eSaturday so it wasn't expected. She encouraged me to call the owner and speak to her. The owner was not interested in keeping a customer and was not accommodating. All she would offer is a discount on a future stay, no discount on the over $300/night stay I already paid for where I was unable to use the balcony at all since there were several men all over the roof hammering and using power tools (on a Saturday morning!) Very unhappy with the terrible customer service of the owner.

The location was secluded and located halfway between Twin Lakes State Beach and Capitola beach only minutes drive to each beach. As far as the Cottage goes we stayed at #6 the Beachcomber. We had a family of four adults and 2 kids and a baby so the two rooms were sufficient. One bedroom had two Queen beds with a small kitchen and separate entrance and the other room had a Queen bed and pull-out sofa so it could have slept another two people. It had a front gated yard with a bbq and a table large enough to sit 8 with some chairs that we took from inside. From the corner of the patio you could see the beach otherwise their were no ocean views. Although the price was a bit high $499.00 plus a pet fee of $50.00. For October we lucked out and the weather was in the 80's. The staff was very accommodating and gave us early check-in. On the down side the other guest rooms are very close to each other so you could see each other from their balconies. We ate at the Aloha Island grille located up the hill, but there were many other restaurants nearby. There were TV's in both rooms and you could hear the ocean waves crashing at night if you left the windows open for a cool breeze at night.And finally the access to the beach was easy contrary to what others have said. We didn't use the Beach because it was real crowded and small. I only came to Capitola to visit the beach and have a drink at Margaritaville but they remodeled it and it's a bit Yuppie now and Capitola beach was packed to the bone with only half the people wearing masks.it seems that every California beach is over crowded these days so I'll not be visiting any more beaches on the California Coast. And that's the end of my beach reviews except for Hawaii.

This charming cottage had such great service. Rooms were clean and location was prime! Close by to the beach and in a local area that seemed private to you without hassle of many tourists and crowds. Would definitely come back to stay here again and 100% recommend!

The ad states you are paying $300 for a beach side cottage. But actually you are paying for a tiny, cramped room, upstairs, with no air conditioning, in a house that reminded me of the Bates hotel. Smelled like an old house and creeked with every step. A creepy man met me at the door to tell me the rules of the house. At 9 they lock the doors to go upstairs. But u get a special key. Looked nothing like the pics. And !! They charged $100 to my credit card 5 days after I checked out! When I called to ask about the charge, I was given some bullshit story and they quickly credited my account. But how many people don't check their bank accounts??? Thief's. Don't go there! And the breakfast is terrible. The only good thing is Starbucks is on the same block.

This is really hard for me to write, as I like to recommend and compliment businesses, but this needs to be said to help you make an informed decision of whether they want to stay here or not. I would recommend to NEVER go here! The rooms are old, poorly maintained and unhealthy. We stayed one night in June. We walked in and immediately saw bugs on the pillows. The room was over $500.00 and it didn't dawn on me, that it could have been bed bugs. We did try to tell someone immediately, but no one was in the office and we were busy as there was a big "0" birthday the next day for our friend. Then we noticed a septic/sewage smell in the bathroom, (never used the bathroom), flickering lights in the bedroom, a ceiling fan that wouldn't turn on, a tremendous gas smell when the heater was turned on... as I am writing this, I wonder why we even tried to sleep one night. I had a terrible headache through the night and I was woken up by an ear piercing carbon dioxide poisoning alarm going off in our room. I ran outside in my pajamas, where I stayed for an hour waiting for someone to turn it off and fix it. Another guest from another room also ran out of her room, saying the same thing happened to her the last time she stayed and she was just giving it one more try. The carbon monoxide alarm was reset several times and put back in the room, only to keep going off again and again. We packed up our things and left in my pajamas to go home... only to drive all the way back for the birthday event later that day and then again all the way home I the evening. We had our little dog with us, and it was hard to find any rooms that would allow a small dog. The good news, is my headache went away on the way home, which makes me wonder about the carbon monoxide alarm. If they had advertised their rooms being this terrible, I would not have booked it. Please think twice before booking!

Great location with the ocean view. Some neighborhood noise from fellow guests otherwise room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Slightly overpriced.

Pros: The staff is very friendly and was able to let us check in early so we weren't late for a wedding. The room is very cozy and clean with cute decor. Nice ocean cottage feel to it. Can see/hear the ocean from the attached private patio (I used the screen door at night to listen to waves). Huge stone tiled shower. Ping pong table and games available. The nearby beach is a nice cove that wasn't too crowded. Cons: WiFi rarely worked. Wished there were more food choices with the continental breakfast (only coffee, bagels, fruit, and yogurt provided). Sheets and pillow cases were not changed for our 2nd night

Great location. Close to everything including the beach. Great for families. Check in is at 3-4pm, is the Only con is late check in. But I would love to stay here again. Rooms are comfy and have everything you need to enjoy your stay.

spent 4 days at the ocean echo inn & it was exactly what i wanted. they allow dogs. i didn't do very good research when booking because i didn't notice that the cottages don't have air conditioning. or maybe having grown up in aptos i was counting on it being cool since it was fall. but it was pretty hot during the day. all in all it's a really great & affordable place to stay and 30 SECONDS FROM THE BEACH!

I've stayed at several hotels/motels in Santa Cruz and this is the only one that disappointed me enough to write a review. The level of cleanliness wasn't really up to par, and then they had the nerve to charge me $50 because there were 4 tiny spots of blood on the sheets. Shady way to milk extra money out of guests.

My husband & I stayed here for one night. Mark greeted us with a welcoming smile. He was very friendly and helpful. That evening we were going to have dinner at the Shadow Brook and he arranged for us to have transportation to the restaurant. We stayed in room #8. The room was very clean, modern, and cozy. The bed was very comfortable!!! The next day we enjoyed the breakfast. There was fresh doughnut, bagels, fruit, yogurt, hot water, coffee, tea bags. We sat at the community area. No one was there. We spoke to Betty(property manager/owner) She was very personable. I will soon return with my family!

Recently had the pleasure of staying in one of cottages. Since that particular one we stayed in was pet friendly we were able to bring our dog. We give it 10/10! We would do it again! Price, location and view was perfect. Thank you!

We decided on the Captain's Quarters over 4th of July holiday. Our view was beautiful, but there were a few things I wasn't happy about. #1 being NO A/C! I'm sure you seldom need A/C in Santa Cruz, but the windows weren't made to be opened for any cross breeze either. It must've gotten up to 80 degrees one afternoon. Very uncomfortable. Secondly, for the supposed "nicest" room at the Inn, the common area for dining and BBQing was right underneath our balcony. It was loud and annoying listening to everyone's conversations as they dined and came up and down the stairs. My other issue was that there were absolutely no amenities in the room. No silverware, plates or napkins. I expected much more for my $525.00 per night price tag. The tv was crappy too! Overall, the Inn and location are nice, but I doubt we will return.

Gorgeous little spot right on the beach. Clean and cute room. Our room had a full mini kitchen with all the utensils and dishes we could need. Pet friendly, parking was fine. Good customer service. Will definitely stay again. Thank you

Ocean echo sucks ass! Stay away! We were attending a wine dinner at Cabrillo college back in Oct and needed a place to stay. I'd always thought this looked like a cool place. Made a last minute reservation for Cottage 10. Never stayed before. It sounded nice, 2 stories with King sized bed, and the pics on the website looked nice too! We paid $200 + tax for a room with a supposedly KING SIZED BED, (Cottage 10 FYI) kind of expensive, but everything else was booked so we bit the bullet and went for it. When I look for a room, I always prefer a King Bed, being 6"2" tall and 250 lbs...+ my girl who is quite petite actually and I'm willing to pay for it. You pretty much assume that when someone says it's a King Bed, it will actually BE a king bed. But it was not! When we got back from our dinner and tried to settle in for the night we discovered that this so called King Bed was actually 2 CHILD SIZED BEDS PUT TOGETHER . TOO LATE! The office was closed and we attempted to sleep...NOT! So 2 cheap kids mattresses about 5' long and 2' wide each and a seam down the middle.between the 2 . You don't realize it till you actually get on the bed. You gotta be f'ing kidding me? I'm 6'2" and my feet hung off the bottom of the bed by about a foot or more, My girl is only 5'2" and even her feet hung off the bottom. Trying to sleep sideways was hopeless, you went across the seam between the 2 mattresses. There was no way to sleep at all, Quite simply false advertising! FYI this is the room that is in a remodeled water tower! BEWARE! The stairs are super steep like a ladder and not easy to negotiate late at night to get to the bathroom as well. But no problem, Guaranteed, you'll be awake. After an absolutely sleepless night, we checked out and went home to sleep., We pointed out to the clerk that they had misrepresented the room to us, and we had not slept at all and now would have to go home and cancel the rest of our day to make up for the lost sleep. And so, what might they do for us? Let us get a room comped (a different room with a real bed) in the future? A discount for our trouble? No....they refused to do ANYTHING! Any other place I've ever stayed, at least gave me a discount, or comp'd me. We paid CASH in advance (big F'ing mistake!) since now we can't contest the charges! There's a hotel right next door that looks pretty good. Anything would be good compared to this. Ocean Echo you should be ashamed! For certain you won't be getting any repeat business from me, or anyone I know. Really amazing how completely callous and uncaring you could be, but then you already KNOW that the room has 2 kid beds, and just waiting for some sucker to blindly book your $200 room and suffer eh? As long as you got your $200 it's all good huh? No I don't think I so. I'm sure they're some governing body I can report you to for false advertising. You would have done well to nip this in the bud when you had the chance. Reference: From the website "Cottage 10 is a quaint and unique two story guest cottage which attracts many guests. It has a KING BED upstairs." No, it does not. You outright lied. Attracts many guests? No perhaps it should say "It ATTACKS many guests" since that is how you will feel after a night of no sleep and being robbed of $230. Once in the bed, you realize it would be impossible to get a King bed up the stairs or any normal sized mattress in the room, via the stairs or window.and if you did, it quite simply would not fit in the room! So....lets just throw 2 kids beds together and call it a King and charge more for it! No one will ever know the difference! Who would image that a hotel would screw a customer in this manner? In the future, should I ask other hotels, is it really a King Bed? What are the measurements?
