The 22 Essential Dim Sum Restaurants in Los Angeles

"Ocean Island is the new and improved incarnation of Yum Cha Cafe, a run-down fast-casual dim sum spot located outside the GW Supermarket. Though Ocean Island has a few tables, it is meant to function as a to-go establishment. The dim sum sits behind plexiglass and each dish is designated A or B (A items cost $3.99, while B items are $4.69). The solid lineup of dim sum favorites includes barbecue pork buns, shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, steamed bean curd rolls, turnip cakes, and fried sesame balls with red bean filling. There’s also a Cantonese barbecue meats section. Although Ocean Island Restaurant is technically open until 7:30 p.m., some dim sum dishes can run out before then." - Kristie Hang

This restaurant was called Yum Cha Cafe, which was a very poor-looking but good taste dim sum restaurant. It looks they just did a little renovation and raised the price. Based on the original price, they raised a LOT. The food is very good, even better than the most big restaurants, it sells the old fashing Cantonese dim sum. Nowadays, Dim Sum become three styles. One is Order-to-Make, which is also the best good looking and most expensive one. The second is several aunts push the carts walking inside the restaurant, you can order from them. The third one is like this restaurant, all the foods are pre-made and kept warming in the steaming pot. Clients buy the food at the counter and bring them to a table to eat. The third one is also the cheapest. (p.s. all pictures are Yum Cha Cafe)

I relocated from Florida but I’m originally from Hawaii and Jamaica so I love dim sum and Asian food but can’t find much authentic Asian foods/grocery stores in FL. I live across the street from this place; it’s next to GW Grocery (an Asian grocery store with fruit, vegetables and fish selections that remind me of my islands). The day after I flew in, my boyfriend and I ordered a little of everything from here for breakfast. Everything was delicious. I especially missed having rice wrapped in lotus leaves but I definitely like their steam and fried buns. My eyes were bigger than my stomach the first time so I didn’t finish everything in the photo in one sitting. What we didn’t eat that morning kept well and lasted for about a week. I work from home but I often skip lunch so these are great to heat and eat between tasks. We’ve ordered delivery from here as well as gone there in person. I recommend in person ordering if you are a visual person but beware: everything looks great so you’ll end up ordering more than you intended! The staff are patient if you don’t speak their language; you can point without being misunderstood. Although there are small tables and chairs inside, it’s too small a place for staying to eat. I recommend getting what you want to go; it’s packaged “to go” anyway. Anyway, everything is delicious here so I highly recommend this place.

Ocean Island dim sum offers the same products as any other dim sum place that offer push carts except less staff means the more you can save on the overall price. With that being said if you just want dim sum without the white cloth table setting and tea service then this is the place for you. You walk towards the back, look at the menu, on the bottom left of the pictured item you will see A or B. on the top right in green you will see the price for A and B… decide what you want, when its your turn they will let you know. If you are taking to go then come anytime but if you want good dim sum and a table remember early bird gets the worm!! (pssst.. 3 tables only at this restaurant) If you don’t know what to get, this is what you should try.. 24. Pan fried leek dumpling 29. Pork and shrimp sweet rice sticky dumpling 30. Sesame ball 1. Ocean Island shrimp dumpling 2. Siu mai pork and shrimp dumpling 19. Steamed BBQ pork bun 21. Steamed Chinese sausage 46. Cruller wrapped rice roll If your still hungry after all this order a wonton noodle soup and triple item BBQ rice plate!

Google
I came here because I was craving dim sum. And my friend had been wanting to try this place. It was interesting to have the dim sum in a display case where you basically point and order instead of having the carts. The dim sum was alright. I'm not sure I'd come back here to have dim sum. But it was pretty affordable so I'd give it that. Did it satisfy my craving? Almost, almost. Ordered shrimp look fun (rice roll) , shrimp har gau, salty egg yolk bun, pork and shrimp sweet rice sticky dumpling. I didn't order the chicken feet so I'm not sure how they were. But my friends seemed to enjoy it. Don't forget the HK milk tea (:

Google
Feels like I'm talking to all my family aunties when I come here. Very kind people. They always have a big variety of dim sum, and some are even items you can't find on the menu or other dim sum places.

On MAPS, I see 7 Minimum. HANDICAP Parking Spaces - Stalls. OCEAN ISLAND RESTAURANT: (nothing against them) A lot of parking available on the left side of Mar Plaza Canter -- BUT ITS A VERY STEEP UPHILL WALK;;; up the parking lot / sidewalk (Atlantic Blvd NORTHbound). Especially for Elderly People.

It is self-serve service. Open early from 7.30am. Reasonable Price. Delicious Hot Food. But the restaurant rating is B.

Here is the story. Me and my girlfriend came in late and we are both in our 20s, looks young. The server force us to buy the leftovers food and BBQs and charge us extra. I will never go there again, would not recommend people go there. Really bad servce

Yelp
Ohhhhh don't you love it?! Cause I love it!!! Dim Sum food is always the best no matter what time it is in the world. And no matter where you at, it's always the BEST TIME. I came here to try this place out and it was just so delicious. The food were made fresh an either baked or steamed to that perfect temperature. Staff were so happy and excited to help their customers and welcome them as they walked on in. The price range is affordable and not too expensive. The ambiance here was a little humid because they were steaming new freshly made food but that was okay. I would definitely come back when I am ever hungry for a quick snack.

Yelp
This place used to have 0.99 dim sum back in 2013 and I always felt it was on par for what you got. That was 12 years ago but the quality and food hasn't changed in 2025. What has changed was inflation, where now the 0.99 is nearly $5. I think all of the local dimsum spots have begun to price fix with their competitors but that would be a tinfoil conspiracy then, wouldn't it? There are better dimsum take out joints with better quality ingredients nearby, so while I think you should definitely check this place out, I'd encourage you to also check out the local competition and you'll definitely see what I'm talking about.

Yelp
A Takeout Dim Sum spot that's conveniently next to Great Wall Market in Monterey Park, Ca. Ocean Island is a Cantonese restaurant that is mainly takeout and specializes in Dim Sum and Barbeque dishes, the menu has an impressive selection of baked, steamed, fried dim sum. DIM SUM PRICES are broken down into two categories: A):$4.89 and B): $5.59. In addition, pastries, congees, noodle soups, rice rolls, roasted Chinese BBQ, and BBQ rice plates can also be found and ordered. Although it's mainly a takeout spot, a few tables are available for dine-in. It's divey. It's casual. Ocean Island is perfect for a quick and delicious snack, lunch, or dinner. NOT the best place in town for "takeout dim sum", but not the worst either. The staff are friendly. *Cash and Credit Card accepted. *Parking shared with Great Wall market and other businesses.

Yelp
If i could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. Our first experience eating food there we did an order for take out. We ordered like normal and received our food and went home. Upon looking at the food we got, we realized we were missing 3 food items. We couldn't really determine if we were charged for those items as the only receipt we got was our final total. One person from our group decided to go back to the restaurant and see if they had just forgotten to put it in our bags but a woman who worked there told him they didn't have what we had ordered. Despite all of this they still made us pay for the substitutions. Awful and plain rude experience. No compromises were tried to be made on their end and we felt so ripped off.

Yelp
Love this place! The best to-go dim sum in town. I've been coming here for years and it's the perfect intersection of price and quality. Staff are friendly and quick to help customers. Line up on the far left end. Price is reasonable considering what you get. There's a couple tables to sit at inside, but most people take their food to go. I believe they are cash only unless your order $30+, then you can pay with card. Favorite things to order: Siu Mai, Har Gow, Ham Sui Gok They also have Char Siu (Chinese BBQ Pork) and roast duck!
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Got a roasted duck and bbq pork aka char shiu. Service is alright. Place is order to go type. Have many selections of dim sums. Parking is shared with other stores in the plaza

Yelp
Ambiance: it's a tiny dim sum place located right outside a grocery store, limited dining table inside and no one is cleaning, it's mainly a takeout place Service: disorganized lines for ordering and picking up, some people cut the line more likely unintentionally Food: variety choices of dim sum and Cantonese bbq Pork & Shrimp Dumpling Siu Mai - *** average Shrimp w/Green Leek Dumpling - **** recommend Shrimp & Scallop Dumpling - *** average taste Sesame Ball - **** crispy and chewy, filled with red beans, recomedn BBQ Pork Pastry - *** crispy outside, lack of flavor inside Roasted Pork - *** crispy but very dry Chicken - ** undercooked and flavorless Roasted Duck HK Style - **** recommend Price: generous portions and affordable prices, expect $40~$45 per order for a group of two to three, and note it's cash only payment here

Yelp
This is our go-to, to-go dim sum spot. They open early and close late. They have a good variety and portions are larger than most other places. You can either order directly through the ladies in the front or fill out the sheet that has picture and name of the item you want with the quantity. They box everything and you pay at the end. The past couple of times I've gone the credit card machine was down, luckily I had cash on me and was able to pay for it. They also have roasted items like duck or pork. I've been there and had big orders to buy to celebrate events at my work and luckily they had enough. Beware that they may run out of items. I would highly recommend getting the fried glutinous rice dumplings, they look like footballs and are fried crispy deliciousness.

Yelp
I was a big fan of this location when it was the old 'Yum Cha Cafe,' and when I was in the area, I learned it's now, 'Ocean Island.' As much as I miss the previous establishment, Ocean Island does have a good selection of dim sum, pastries, and your basic congees (jook), noodle soups, and rice plates. There's like three tables inside if you want to eat there, but with the constant foot traffic, you may just to take your food to-go (like everyone else). It really helps if you speak Mandarin or Cantonese here - the ladies are working fast and there's kind of a line and also kind of none lol. I was trying to place an order and they didn't hear me for some reason, then this kind lady who spoke Mandarin told them I wanted to place an order (so nice!) and I did just that. I only came here to try their Boa Luo Bao (Pineapple Bun) and their Pork Ribs Rice Plate, which turned out really good on everything. The dim sum also looked good, but I feel like the pastries and plate meals might be better value. Even though it's a to-go shop, the prices are still slightly steep for dim sum - about $5-$7 per dish or so...that definitely adds up! Quality of food is good though. Parking here is a hit or miss in the lot, depending on the day you go there. It shares a parking lot with other shops and the giant supermarket, so parking space can come sparingly. But street parking is available if it's really packed. But yeah if you're in the area, worth stopping in and get your dim sum fix.

Yelp
After visiting this place 3 times, I have decided to downgrade it. The char siu is not really that great tasting. 99 Ranch Market in Alhambra has better grade of char siu and lotus wrap. Most items here are big size but are lot of dough. Most of the time I found my order was filled a little different than the way I entered on the form: sometimes I had more item, sometimes less which confused me. And I had to order items here that I normally do not eat e.g. doughy items. So not coming here for a while.

Yelp
Went to a gathering recently and someone brought a few trays of dim sum from this place. I never knew this shop existed but after having a taste, I had to go and see for myself. Note: this is a primarily pick-up spot although there are a few tables for customer use. The store is located on in a small mini-mall, next to the GW Market main entrance. Plenty of available parking when we went on a recent Sunday morning, 9:30am. Upon entering, we noticed bbq pork hanging in the deli window...amongst other prepared items. The main star of the show, however, is their dim sum, which is out for full display behind the glass counter. This makes it very easy to see what is available (I'm not sure if some of the items change daily). There is a paper menu at one of the registers where you can mark down your order (this is what we did) and simply hand the paper over to one of the staff and they will box everything up. It may help to speak their language for more specific/particular orders (like if you wanted your order boxed up a certain way) but we do not and the older lady behind the counter was exceptionally kind to let me know they were out of a certain item using hand gestures. Communication is key! As we were waiting for our somewhat large order to be boxed up, we noticed that the shop became increasingly busier, yet the staff had their ordering process down to a science and it really showed...talk about teamwork! As for dim sum, they offer your typical items (char siu bao, har gow, sesame balls and more!) but they also have one that is a sliced green bell pepper with a filling (maybe fishcake?) that I've never seen before. I would go here just for this one! Seriously everything was delicious! Dim sum prices are fair: currently two prices..."A" = $4.89 and "B" = $5.59 so this makes it easy...but it does add up! They also offer rice plates (I gotta try this too), porridge, party trays and the like. Cash and cards accepted. Plethora of dim sum places in the immediate area and everyone has their preferences but this place really impressed. As with many small businesses, it may not look like much from the outside but it's what's inside that counts! Yum, yum and more yum!

Melissa D.

Yelp
This was my usual place for roasted duck and salted chicken but after yesterday's experience, I would not be giving them my business. I sent my husband to pick up 3 times( 1 whole roasted duck, crispy pork and 1 whole chicken. Total should have been $97 and some change. When my husband said the total was $130.28, I knew something was wrong. Called them and confirmed that they over charged. My husband can understand but speaking is not his strong suit. While I spoke to them in Cantonese and said you need to give receipts that show itemized cost and the mistake was a big one. She gave me a $30 refund and walked away! I told it should be $33+. She had the audacity to tell me how I could be picky with asking for the tax back! I Food is good but attitude and customer service resolution does not deserve my business. Make sure you double check your receipt and the total is correct.

Yelp
Cash and card accepted with no additional fees, Visa and Master cards. I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of food they have for a to-go dim sum spot. So good we got it TWICE in the same week. You need to give their deep fried items a try. None of them are soggy and dripping with grease like other places are. All their baked buns the dough used for it seem to be the same for all of them- soft, great texture, fluffy, moist. Rice roll batter has a great texture. 24. Pan Fried Leek Dumpling- very good, filled with ground pork mixed in with leek. There was a crisp to the pan fried sides (both sides). 30. Sesame Ball- filling filled to the brim, very crispy and amazing texture. Filled with red bean filling, if you prefer the lotus kind I would steer away. Not too sweet. Gao Choi Gao (11. Shrimp w/ Green Leek Dumpling)- filling was great, the wrapper fell apart before we got home to eat. Still very good! Chashu Cheung Fun (41. BBQ Pork Rice Roll)- surprisingly had green onions and cilantro, which I loved! Added so much depth. Usually restaurants only fill it with the bbq pork and no greens. Dan Tat (37. Egg Custard Tarts)- pastry shell was nice and flaky. Custard wasn't too sweet or dense.

Yelp
CASH ONLY. Craved for an early dim sum and we stumbled at this place. I was the co-pilot and searched for "along the way dim sum". I did not do a lot of research as we are getting close to the place I just trust Yelp's stars. so here we were. We thought we could eat dine-in - yes we did- but I don't recommend it. This place is good for you to go. No one will serve and help - and the place is small. Also, this is one of the most stressful experiences I had in ordering! you have to say what u want fast because they are all scrambling fast, I do not know all the names of the food, I just point at it and ugh I just felt so rushed. So thankful to the guy customer who helped us say what we want. Anyway, parking is a lot. There's no restroom, do not come on a rush hour I guess. Be prepared. Our orders cost us about $40ish- check my pics :) and 1 bottled water included. I will still come back if we ever happen to pass by this place because the SIOMAI and BAKED PORK BUNS are undeniably GOOD but next time I come, I know the drill and will not be surprised. Just Siomai and pork buns that's it! Bye!

Yelp
It's a no frills dim sum place with bbq pork and duck. It was my first time here and I just wanted two items. I only got one of the two items I asked for. My want was this sweet rice cake which I took a picture of the menu item to show the lady behind the counter. The second item I was asking the lady next to me if she knew the Chinese name of the item. She didn't and I kinda remember how to pronounce it but I wasn't watching the lady put it into my box. The item I wanted was the sausage in a bun called "lop churn gǔn" anyways I'll get it next time when I ask someone else to pickup for me. Whatever I got in its place was pretty tasty. There were possibly a couple of table's against the wall but mainly everyone was ordering to go.
google avatar

Kim U.

Yelp
Inexpensive baos. They were tasty. I just could not get over the little bug that was stuck to the bao that I had to take off. I mean I am sure I am being overly dramatic The bao is sticky and the bug just got stuck. But that is not what I want to see when I open the white box. A black bug on the white bao. I ate I all three. For five dollars, that is cheap eats. The smell of fish is gross to me. But I live cha siu baos. I will not be coming back here. I need to go to my usual spot Dim Sum Express.

Wm C.

Yelp
Hard to describe except it's a throwback to simple reasonable food. We tried hslf of a roast duck. Perfect. Counter, tiny tables.
google avatar

Tonee T.

Yelp
Salted egg buns are next-level good--seriously, you *have* to try them! They're even better when reheated. We live in the Valley and still make the drive out here just for these buns. Totally worth it every time!
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
MAKES ME THINK TWICE NOW. THEY NASTY. Shut down due to vermin infestation. They don't care about your health.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
For take-out dim sum they are surprisingly good, with an even more surprising menu in terms of the spread that, even mid-day, is still pretty solid. It's absolutely a take-out dive despite the presence of a few little tables, parking lot does get busy, and while they do take credit cards I saw most paying with cash. The enclosed glass counter is full of pineapple buns, egg rolls, lo bac guo (turnip cake), cheung fun (both shrimp and beef), plus a smaller than expected but still quite well-stocked area of fresh steamed items. Har gow, shu mai, lo mai gai, ngau paak yip (ginger beef tripe), and all the goodies I would expect. There is a bit of a wait as orders are packed into foam boxes and queued up to pay, but it's not bad, and you have to admire how well they understand organization. Pricing is pretty reasonable too.
google avatar

Stan L.

Yelp
Ocean island is my go to place for takeout dim sum, went today March 6,2025 And they were closed there was a sign by the health department that said they were closed due to vermin infestation, no mention of when they would reopen.

Yelp
I was craving some dim sum in the early morning of Thanksgiving so I yelped a place and Ocean Island popped up and it had good reviews so I checked it out. Lo and behold...... I'm always in this plaza for GW market. It's so easy to miss since is so small. Anyways, it was popping and I didn't want to eat toooo much before thanksgiving dinner, so i ordered the BBQ rice noodle and some deep fried dumplings and can't forge the chicken feet! So delicious, came here twice in a week. My new favorite take out dim sum place.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Good quality and surprisingly pretty friendly service ! The first couple times I came here, I only spoke English with them and there was no language barrier. The lady was friendly, smiling, and recommended me some items too that just came out fresh. I ordered the Siu mai (juicy and fresh), har gow (pretty huge), pork rice noodle, turnip cake (wish it were crispier), and fried taro balls with some meat in it. Everything was satisfying and tasty and everything I wanted was available at 12:30PM. It was $25 credit card minimum tho?..... There were a few tables so you can dine in there and it was fairly clean. Also, they only have hot sauce packets per request as well.

Yelp
A friend stumbled on this place on the way to the market and recommended it to me. We were out and about and wanted late dim sum so we decided to try this place out. You order at the counter. Just be careful because if you point at something and ask what it is, the server is more apt to put it in a take out box. As for the dim sum, the siu mai was ok..mostly pork and didn't detect any shrimp. The char siu steam bao's were very good as well as these triangle shaped wor tip/fried dumplings. The turnip cake was also good and the rice wrapped chicken was too. Definitely an upgrade over Dim Sum Express and Lucky 1. I'll be back.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp after the dim sum place we wanted to go was closed. I would say the reviews are mostly true. Definitely a spot to check out and try. It's kind of hidden, we were confused because it took us to a market, turns out this place is right next to a large Asian market and if you aren't looking for it you will miss it. The service was friendly and good but there definitely was a language barrier. We thought you could order one item at a time but most of the items come in 3 or 4 quantity so be warned. Shrimp dumpling - 10/10 I do not even care for seafood but this was so good and not fishy at all. The shrimp is warm and it's juicy. Make sure you add some siracha. Chicken bao - 4/10 the chicken inside is good but there isn't a lot of it. The outside is not was moist as most places, definitely too much breading vs protein.

Yelp
I am so glad I came across this place. It is hidden gem right next to the GW Supermarket. They have a sign showing their tiny store but if you don't walk in that direction, you would probably miss it. I never seen a more comprehensive dim sum place than this one. It's tiny but packed with all the dim sums you can think so. The only thing I see they don't have is the Silver Tail Noodles. They have picture menu of all their dim sum made fresh daily. One interesting thing is that they like to sell their dim sum by threes. I was confused when I ordered Pineapple bun and I saw the clerk packing me three. So be sure to let them know you only want one. The best items they have are the Steamed White Sugar Rice Cakes and the Malai Goh which is the best I've had in LA. Their Pineapple buns were a bit hard and dry. The sugar topping also wasn't that great. Their egg custards could be better. I would come back to try the rest of their dim sums but those were my favorites so far. The only really bad thing about this place is that they close early at 7:30pm and they're closed on Tuesdays.

Yelp
I came midday on a weekday and it was pretty busy. The shop is small and tucked away in the plaza. Parking was easy with a lot attached. There were about 4 small tables for dine in but all orders are made to go and service was quick. We were attended to in less than 5min and the dim sum was already made in advance in the bamboo steam trays. They just put it into boxes for you as you order. We just ate at an out table after paying. 7/10 Har Gao - it came with 4pc and was really fresh and juicy. The wrap was not too thick and doughy but it was really sticky so it broke up when trying to pick one up. Shrimp filling was good in portion and standard for taste. 8/10 Sui Mai - 4pc and the pork and shrimp filling was juicy! 8/10 Shrimp Noodle Rolls - 3 rolls with good amount of shrimp filling. The noodle roll wrap was also not thick and soft and chewy in texture. 7/10 Taro Pork Ribs - kinda of average and portion size kind of small. Nice try but wouldn't get again unless I was craving. 7/10 Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf - only 2 pcs and also just average sticky rice with small amount of meat filling and slice of Chinese sauce and no egg. All these were B items for $5ea which is on the cheaper side for dim sum nowadays.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning right after they opened. I got several items. Very good quality and tasty. Service was courteous and prompt. This place is going to be my new go to for dim sum takeout.

Yelp
This is my go to place for dim sum to go now. Great price and good food. They discontinued the scallop dumpling. Boo. They are better at keeping track of the order now. Haven't had issue with getting a different order.

Yelp
Happy customer every time we come back. Their honey bbq pork is extremely delicious!!! Their pork ear is really good too. Pork intestine has some smell though.

Yelp
Great low-key, restaurant-quality dim sum spot near GW supermarket!! Either $4.29 or $4.99 depending on the item. I'm pretty simple when it comes to dim sum and ordered the popular dishes with all of it tasting delicious! They also take card if you don't have cash on you which is a huge pro for me. I think the minimum is $20 - wasn't a problem for me with all the food I was getting! I don't speak any Chinese but was able to easily order in English. Kind and fast service from the workers!

Yelp
Ocean Island dim sum offers the same products as any other dim sum place that offer push carts except less staff means the more you can save on the overall price. With that being said if you just want dim sum without the white cloth table setting and tea service then this is the place for you. You walk towards the back, look at the menu, on the bottom left of the pictured item you will see A or B. on the top right in green you will see the price for A and B... decide what you want, when its your turn they will let you know. If you are taking to go then come anytime but if you want good dim sum and a table remember early bird gets the worm!! (pssst.. 3 tables only at this restaurant) If you don't know what to get, this is what you should try.. 24. Pan fried leek dumpling 29. Pork and shrimp sweet rice sticky dumpling 30. Sesame ball 1. Ocean Island shrimp dumpling 2. Siu mai pork and shrimp dumpling 19. Steamed BBQ pork bun 21. Steamed Chinese sausage 46. Cruller wrapped rice roll If your still hungry after all this order a wonton noodle soup and triple item BBQ rice plate!

Yelp
Nice hole in the wall place for dim sum! All the food is already cooked and ready for take out so no need to wait in line or wait for the food to get cooked. Pricing is pretty fair for dim sum in the area, if not cheaper than most places. The quality was pretty good too! Variety isn't as much as a traditional dim sum but they have all the core dim sum menu items.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time here and I tried some newer items. The har gow, shrimp egg roll and roast pork. The har gow was not that great. I don't like the flavor of the shrimp and the fact that it's grounded up and not pieces of shrimp was a little off putting. The flavor was also not there either. Not the best I've had. The shrimp egg roll was actually a surprise. I thought it was a regular egg roll, but turned out to be pretty good. Has good crunch and flavor. Tastes even better when you put it in the air fryer. The roast pork was $12.50/lb and it was pretty good. Had good flavor and the meat was still juicy by the time I got home 1.5 hours later. The skin was still crispy. I was reluctant to buy the roast pork, but glad I did. I might try the roast duck next time. The service here is pretty typical of Asian restaurants. Pretty much next to none. You basically point and they box up your order. It's more about speed than anything else.

Yelp
Small unassuming shop next door to GW supermarket on Atlantic Blvd. They are in the plaza across the street from Atlantic Plaza. They have dim sum and other Canto Chinese eats. They have a $25 minimum order for using a credit card, so I ordered about 1.5 lbs of siu yuk (roast pork). They added tax to it, and the total came out to $31.95. The ladies working there didn't speak much English.

Yelp
On a Saturday morning at 7:45am in June, I was craving for Sui mai. Not crowded at all and not all dim sum was available yet. Inside is clean and they sell other roast ducks, pork, etc. The service ladies are nice and one of them spoke toisan which I spoke to her. I bought bolo baos, 2 orders of Sui mai, ham su gook, short ribs w/black bean sauce. The prices are between A $4.29 and B $4.99 which is cheaper than other dim sum restaurants. Sui mai taste good as usual and bolo baos are big and yummy. Definitely my go to place for dim sum.

Yelp
Friendly service. Gave an extra star for that. Food was decent; not delicate but big portion for the price. Pretty convenient for take out. Lots of dim sum to choose from. My favorites were the seaweed roll, fried shrimp ball thingy and sesame ball.

Yelp
New New New!! We stopped by with the craving for some dim sum to go. The location is downstairs by the entrance to the supermarket. 10% off was being offered on the day we went. We ordered the following to go: - Ocean island shrimp dumpling- fresh! no fishy or old taste to these dumplings. So good and so soft. - Pork and shrimp dumpling siu mai- super tasty! Highly recommend them here. I'm picky when it comes to siu mai and the ones here did not disappoint. These are huge too! - Sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf- ah yesss! this was so good! plenty of flavor inside the wrap and the rice was soft and fresh Steamed bbq pork bun- I actually really liked it here. The bun was soft and fresh. The BBQ pork wasn't too sweet, it was perfect. - Turnip cake w preserved meat- was just ok. I tend to like it a bit more crispy but I was told that they were serving it how it should be served; soft. - Sesame ball- loved it here as well! the red bean filling was sweetened to perfection and the sesame ball wasnt too oily either. - Beef rice roll- this was really good here! I liked the extra little crisp that was in it. The roll is soft and the flavor of the beef is perfect. A must here. - Pineapple buns- ok.. so is this a bagel??? The bun had the texture and the taste of a bagel, the middle part was a bit gooey. Not my fav bun, I wouldnt order it again. Huge but I wasnt a fan of their texture - Pork and shrimp sweet rice sticky dumpling- this surprised me. I was glad it wasn't too oily or too sweet, the texture of the dumpling was good and fresh Fairly priced for the area and the quality of the items. Great amount of options available as well. You can also pre order larger orders such as roasted pig, roasted duck and crispy pork belly.

Yelp
Support this place.. it's fabulous for inexpensive take out dim sum....with lots of variety. It's in the old Yum Cha location. And next time I come here, I'll try the soy sauce chicken, bbq pork, and the duck... the price, so inexpensive!!! PROS: THE SUI MAI is large, made with beef I think.. the TURNIP CAKE...great fry on the bricks....don't see any shrimp bits in either...so very great for people like me, allergic to shellfish. Double yummy. THE BAKED CHAR SUI BAO...nice chunks of bbq pork...tasty, lightly sweet, soft bao...heats up nice in microwave without heartening. Yummy. BBQ CHEUNG FUN and the BEEF CHEUNG FUN...well made, generously filled...good structure, not too flimsy, not too thick. Yummy yummy, and comes with soy sauce. Oh heck EVERYTHING I ordered was delicious. [See pics]...eight different items I sampled were all delicious...and my picky Chinese mom agreed.... So the place is under new management...the entrance is just shy of the supermarket entrance....and shares parking with the mini mall and supermarket....its a takeout place, they do take credit cards [yay]... it's very reasonably priced... I spent less than $30 for a fabulous array of dim sum...Covid protocols observed. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Good prices and tasty dim sum. We came to pick up some take out dim sum for a birthday. We got some favorites: har gow, egg rolls, rice noodles, and shu mai. Food was warm and steaming still in the containers. The parking is big and convenient. Same center as the GW super market.

Yelp
Pretty decent dim sum catered for those who want to do dim sum takeout at home. When you enter the restaurant, head to the back where you can queue up to order from one of the few ladies standing behind the steam table. Even though it was busy when we entered the restaurant, the line moved fairly quickly. All the food is behind a plexiglass where you can see all the dim sum on displayed on a steaming table. For those who can't differentiate the items in the steamer, you can just point to the pictures of all the available dim sum on the wall. Each item has a A/B designation - Item A: $3.99, Item B:$4.69, (imo pretty fair pricing due to Covid inflations). We ordered the steamed Bbq pork buns, Shu Mai, steamed bean curd rolls, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. Everything was pretty tasty except for the steamed bbq pork buns, the buns were not as fluffy as expected but the bbq pork filling was delicious. As we were paying for our food, I saw a gentleman picking up 10 roasted ducks for takeout. It looks to be a pretty popular item at this location, I will be back next time to check out their roasted bbq meats.

Yelp
My first time at this place did not disappoint! I believe it used to be Yum Cha for those of you familiar with the location. It's located next to the GW supermarket entrance. Shared parking in the lot with other businesses and can get busy. This place is currently open till 7:30pm everyday, which makes it a nice option for getting dim sum later in the day or even for dinner. But be warned a lot of the items we wanted to try were already sold out by the time we got there late in the day, and they don't make more, so if you're looking for greater variety and/or certain items, your best bet is still earlier in the day. Food-wise, most of the items were pretty tasty in my opinion and good quality for the price point. Out of the items I ordered, I would say the pearl shrimp ball is my favorite if I had to pick one. A happy mouthful of shrimp in every bite! My other top picks were the beef noodle roll and shrimp dumpling. I was a bit disappointed in the fried taro ball, which was cold compared to the other items. Although the shell was flaky, the filling itself lacked flavor. I forgive them cause I really liked everything else though! Hope many of the other items are good when I come back to try. 10% off for grand opening, although their sign did not disclose how long the promotion would last. Overall everyone was super nice too. Great choice if you ever need a quick dim sum fix!

Yelp

Yelp
Newly opened in the space next to GW supermarket. Great option for take away dim sum as they open at 7:30! Came early to beat the crowds and got everything I wanted, the ladies were helpful and they are offering 10% off now. Can't beat the price compared to other dim sum places in the area. My favorites are the cha siu Cheung fun, gao choy gao dumplings, and siu mai. Least favorites were the spare ribs (had too much taro in it) and the sticky rice not as flavorful. Would recommend for a quick pickup of dim sum to go!

Yelp
Our usual take out dim sum spot was Lucky 1. But we recently found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Super small restaurant with limited seating. Most of the people get take out. As far as variety and taste, I think this place is better than Lucky 1. It's located next to the GW Market on Atlantic so parking can be a bit crowded sometimes. Service is horrible though and some of the employees are rude. 4 stars for food. 2 stars for service

Yelp
great service and food. many dim sum, noodles, plus roast duck, pork belly, bbq pork (charshu) and more. be warned, cash only! there is a atm there. right next to GW market on the South side of the store.
