Ocean Prime

I visited this restaurant as part of a workplace-sponsored dinner. The ambiance was refined and quiet, contributing to an overall sophisticated atmosphere. We began with the calamari, and for my entrée I selected the lobster tail paired with a 10oz sirloin. The dish was accompanied by a lobster soup, which I found somewhat disappointing in flavor. However, both the lobster and the sirloin were exceptionally well prepared and enjoyable. For dessert, we were served crème brûlée, which was a standout—rich, well balanced, and very satisfying. While the establishment itself is elegant, the overall tone of the service and environment felt slightly pretentious, which may not appeal to all guests.

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday at Ocean Prime in Kansas City, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the moment I walked through the door, the service and atmosphere were absolutely outstanding. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel celebrated from start to finish. Every detail was thoughtfully handled — they explained the menu with care, checked in often, and made sure my evening was special. I ordered the steak, mac & cheese, French onion soup, and sushi, and each dish was exceptional. The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly prepared — truly a 10 out of 10 dining experience. What stood out most was how genuine and kind the team was throughout the evening. They went above and beyond to make my birthday unforgettable, and I left feeling incredibly happy and grateful. Thank you, Ocean Prime, for turning such an important milestone into a night I’ll always remember. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a first-class dining experience.

The food was superb. On Sundays they offer Surf and Turf at a set menu price which consists of a 3 course meal. The Bubbles and Berries cocktail tasted similar to a cherry-limeade. The smoking effect from the dry ice added such a touch of drama and elegance. The drink itself was perfectly crafted, refreshing and delicious. The dry ice made it seem extra special. It wasn't just a beverage, it was a little show right there at our table Service was equally impressive. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The waitstaff was also attentive, ensuring our water glasses were full and anticipating our needs without being intrusive. I recommend it for special occasion or looking for a top-tier dining experience.

The atmosphere and food were wonderful but our server Alex was hands down the best!! He was professional, fun, prompt in service and did a great job making suggestions/recommendations for us that helped us have an amazing dining experience. We enjoyed our night and can’t wait to come back.

This was our first time here and probably our last. While the service was top-notch notch, the food wasn't that good. It was also overpriced for what we got. My pork chop was not all the way done, and when I inquired, our server said that's how they make it!! REALLY, raw pork...NO!!! The drinks were amazing, but also way overpriced IMHO! I had cheesecake for dessert and it had to be some of the best cheesecake I've ever had.

Very impressed with this place. Our first time dining here, it definitely left a lasting impression on me. A nice fine dining atmosphere and certainly the professionalism to match. Our service was solid all the way through and I appreciate all the staff we interacted with here. We split the lobster bisque to start and it is delicious. For my entree, I went with the Grouper (lots of great looking options but I was swayed by the gnocchi) and was far from disappointed. The fish was cooked perfectly and there was great depth of flavor with this dish. We also very much enjoyed our cocktails (very very solid Old Fashioned, for one). I definitely give this restaurant a strong recommendation! I’d love to return.

What an amazing experience, our server Adam was fantastic, infomative and always checking on us to ensure we were comfortable. When Adam was away checking on drinks or food the rest of the staff was checking on us to including Jeff the manager. Highly recommend this place. We will be back.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. The street parking is handicapped accessible. The entry to the restaurant is handicapped accessible. This is a nice place for dates, parties, meetings, families, etc. They have a party room. Always keep an open eye in the area.
