Ocean View Fishing Pier Restaurant

We had a fantastic Labor Day experience at this restaurant. The rooftop dining was beautiful with amazing views, and we were seated right away with no wait. We ordered the calamari and fish tacos, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The happy hour specials were incredible—just $3 for well drinks, which is hard to beat. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Between the stunning rooftop atmosphere, great food, unbeatable drink specials, and top-notch service, this place absolutely deserves 5 stars. I can’t wait to come back!

8/10/25. First time here. Arrived around 6 and easily found parking. However people are fishing from the pier so it may get limited. There was a 20 minute wait to sit roof top however the wind was whipping so we opted for inside which had no wait. We got the calamari and spinach crab dip for appetizers and we both had the ahi tuna sandwich. Everything was delicious. Server was very nice and attentive. Definitely recommend

I have been coming here for about five years and have never had one complaint. We love the gliders and atmosphere on the rooftop. They serve my favorite drink of any place ever, the key lime crush. I’ve had it many places, but I will always come back for this drink alone. The food is always good; I’ve not had anything I didn’t like. I love their green beans. I normally get the shrimp, which are always so good and cooked just right, but this time I went with the crab cakes. They didn’t disappoint, and I would get them again. The bathrooms are clean, even being attached to the pier. That’s a huge thing when going out, being that I have small children. The service was wonderful, as always, and we will be back soon 🩷

Had fish and chips and cannot complain. Service was good and location even better. Very relaxing spot on a nice cool, breezy Virginia day.

The atmosphere is very good, the service and food are both good. Just come for the ambulance, friendly staff and good food. This is basically comfort food in the ocean with fishing 😅. One thing I didn't like was the service charge for using my credit card to pay for the check.

My husband and I were here for our second time. The first time we came with friends and sat on top, this time we sat inside. Indoors is where it was at on this balmy 90 something degree day! Great views, excellent food! We had the fish n chips haddock fish with a very nice breading, fresh cut fries, coleslaw and homemade tarter that was to die for! We also shared some pier nachos with queso, jalapenos, pico de gallo, lettuce and black olives (my husband doesn't care for black olives so I ate them ALL!) Absolutely fabulous, I have been thinking about it since the time we left what a wonderful meal! The people were all nice on the pier, the server was wonderful. Excellent experience all the way around I highly recommend it!

I stopped by the restaurant and get that shrimp dinner and man was it good. I had noticed the place and always saw a bunch of cars in the parking lot. I'm not big on crowds so I avoided going there. However one day I decided to go see what all these people were over there doing and to my surprise it was easy access and the staff inside the restaurant were very very nice and the food came out quickly. I also noticed that the scenery was so lovely and I was able to take a very nice pic. The shrimp were large and very succulent and the fries were seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend getting food here.

The Best Fishing Pier ever! I’ve been fishing many places and I have known this pier since 1994. (My wife’s picture from 1994 and 2025). This Pier is the best place to catch fish! Also, people working at the pier are good people, very friendly, and help everybody they can. Just last week my car fobs’ battery was dead and I couldn’t start the car at all. Was already 1am and John, the owner of the pier, gave his own battery from his fobs’ car key so I could go home. Thank you very much John! I will never forget that. That was very nice of you to do that.

We had the crab cakes, the fish & chips and plenty of beers! Barb was an excellent waitress. We just HAD to have the "Ocean View Martini" to start things off.

I was extremely impressed by this spot! I was a little scared with the lack of the reviews but I am very happy we went. We got one of the swinging benches on the roof that would fit a max of 6 people. It was a beautiful day and the bench was plenty comfortable and shady. Music was also super fun (it was noon on a Sunday) and we were obviously surrounded with the brunch crowd. Our server was training a young gentleman and both were very nice! On to the food - my mussels were 10/10. The sauce at the bottom was so good I kept dunking my garlic bread into it. My garlic bread looked a little overcooked but it had a great flavor. I will go back for these again. Paired with a cold blue moon it was a perfect Sunday afternoon. Fish sandwich was 10/10 and VERY delicious. Look at that portion size it was HUGE! Tuna bites - they tasted great but they were much smaller than expected. I understand it's an appetizer portion but they were like kid size bites. This is the only reason I will be giving this place 4/5 stars. Still great though! We will totally be back and I cannot wait... this place is a hidden gem and the prices and portion sizes will have us coming back for more. Bravo!

Walked in just after 7 on a Tuesday only to be told that this business operates on a volume basis not an hourly basis as they have posted. We were told that they couldn't help us because they were already closed for the night since business was slow.

Visiting for the week for kids Basketball camp. So incredibly happy this place is here. Food is perfect. Nothing over the top fancy but everything I tried has been excellent. Super comfortable atmosphere. Bartenders and waitstaff are amongst the friendliest and attentive I've ever had. Oh yeah the beach and fishing pier are great! Lots of crabs, croaker, and flounder. Bait and tackle shop has everything you need, rent or buy. Very highly recommended! You have to check this place out if you are in the area.

What started off as a simple walk on the beach turned into a chill jam session listening to live music under the bridge I've visited this cool tourist spot in ocean view sever times since childhood and have always enjoyed my time Do not set your expectations too high and you will have a great time They have excellent happy hour deals and have recently brought back live events including tonight's acoustic performance The food is good but not tourist destination good It is the ambiance that makes this place great you can fish or just enjoy the waves Today it was a wave day we did not go upstairs but we sat and enjoyed the music from the shore I was very happy to see the Facebook page was recently updated and I have some fun nights to look forward to I had a friend with me who lives within walking distance and was very excited to see the karaoke Thursdays on the schedule Definitely a place to check out in ocean view

We stopped here for lunch with a water view on our last day in the Norfolk area. They had just opened so we were quickly seated at a window to enjoy the view of the bay. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We chose to share their firecracker shrimp tacos which comes with rice and beans. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was a small portion for the price in my opinion, but it was tasty and creamy and we both liked it. The firecracker shrimp tacos were also really good. There was a generous amount of shrimp and I loved the sweet and spicy sauce. We also liked the rice and beans. The decor is fun and we enjoyed the casual vibe. Overall, this was a good spot to enjoy some seafood by the water and I'd return again if in the area!

I went on Sunday during lunch and sat on their top deck outside seating. The outside seating area was really cute, it wasn't too hot that day, and the breeze from being right over the water felt amazing. Me and my friend had their Buffalo wings for appetizer and they were fried to perfection and very yummy. I ordered the firecracker shrimp tacos w/ rice and beans and a side of white cheddar mac & cheese and a dragonfruit refresher. My friend had the fried flounder fish and chips with hush puppies. Right when I was given my drink, I did find a bug in it and we did unfortunately have this happen to our drinks more than twice throughout the experience. We didn't make a fuss being that we were sitting outside so an occasional gnat landing in our cups seemed likely to happen. Overall the food was definitely made to order and whoever works the fryer in the kitchen did a good job. The food did lack seasoning and the Mac & Cheese was bland, I definitely wouldn't order it again. The tacos and the flounder were pretty tasty. I can see myself going back and giving them another try. My overall rate of experience: 5/10

We loved the roof atmosphere! The views made the wait much better. All of our food and drinks were great as well and were worth the wait.

Had a lovely dinner on the rooftop with friends! We timed it just right to where we were able to enjoy golden hour & sunset. Views were amazing and the atmosphere was overall very fun & relaxing! Pictured: tuna sandwich, fish & chips, firecracker shrimp tacos, and their well margarita. The food and drinks were pretty good, but the flavors and quality were not quite where I would've wanted for an oceanfront restaurant. Their drinks were a highlight, though a bit pricey.

Such a cool place to grab a bite! The food was really great! The waitstaff were incredibly friendly, caring and honest. We decided to sit up top since we went on karaoke night. Everything we ate was delicious and flavorful. Sunset view up top was AMAZING as well. Would have to recommend the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese as sides, both so creamy and flavorful! Couldn't recommend this place more.

$11 to walk to the end of the pier from the halfway point, its bs, all I wanted was to walk the "longest free standing pier in America" and couldn't even do that for free

We enjoyed ourselves. Outstanding views. We even walked the legth of the pier. It was Tuesday around 2:30 PM and we were able to grab a big sliding covered booth, topside. Sunny day. Sitting in shade. Terrific server. The fried calamari deserves a pass, but the hushpuppies are outstanding. Even grabbed a $2.50 can of beer on special. Now that the restaurant has gotten some age, it has acquired a sorta Thirsty Camel vibe. We'll be back.

This was a great place to take friends who are visiting from out of town. We loved the ambiance and the views of the water. The upstairs also has cornhole to play and great vibes overall being able to look at the water from all around. Downstairs we ate dinner and the seafood boil was good. I think it lacked a bit of flavor as it mainly tasted like plain butter. Cooked well though and not underdone or anything as such. The food took some time to come but the service was good and the waitress was nice. It was a holiday weekend so we expected as such. Overall drinks are good, didn't taste like alcohol too much but they were tasty for sure! Great vibes and good ambiance.

I adore the vibes here, it's the prefect place to grab lunch at during the summer in norfolk! They have rooftop eating area, where you can see the ocean and watch the fishers fishing on the pier. Their menu was relatively affordable, and very tasty. (I do wish they had more seafood options though) Definitely would return.

The restaurant at Ocean View fishing pier is excellent.They have some of the best fish and chips in the Norfolk area. The service is great and you can't beat the view from the deck!

I cannot vouch wholeheartedly for the food here even though I was apart of an event that was catered (the food was just OK from the catering menu, but I rather provide a full review on food order from the menu directly). Nevertheless, I am here to provide you what an amazing view this pier/restaurant provides. I visited this past Wednesday for a private event, but I did get to experience the restaurants rooftop vibes. Very sexy... plenty of seating... amazing views and a full service bar awaits! Even though it was a bit cloudy on this day, the rooftop is the place to be if the weather is permitting. Couch seating... bench seating... single chair seating and room enough to lean over the perimeter... just a great set up on the rooftop. They have used every bit of space up here. Parking is available out front... seems plentiful and it's free! So if you are in the area check out this restaurant for the: views, drinks, fishing and grab a bite to eat if you care. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Food is good, service excellent, ambiance great but seats are a bit uncomfortable. My friends ordered a bunch of food and drinks. Everything was good and we were hungry! The food came out pretty quickly considering the amount of people there. They had a band setting up and the sound check was not disturbing. Overall a good experience and I do recommend this place especially if you love the water! They have an upper deck as well that is very nice.

We are there for lunch today (Friday, November 18). It was the end of the season so the menu was limited, but it wasn't crowded and the food was good. Our two year old loved seeing the peer and the water. Decent local beer selection, and friendly staff.

Man I was really impressed with the food. Got the shrimp tacos and they were bomb. The service is great, the waiters have a smile and are willing to work. The scenery was nice and I loved the ambiance. Great music, chill crowd and great scenery. Overall I'm going to come back here!

After eating some horrible food from another establishment me and my friends decided to give this place a shot since it was near by and we were in the mood for seafood. The parking is huge and there is a short walk up the peer to get to the restaurant. Once walking up the peer you see people fishing and crabbing, you really get an awesome sea vibe before coming up to the business. When we finally got up to the hostess she greeted us with a smile and took us to our seat. Once seated our waitress was awesome and gave us a menu and also a list of the drinks. I ordered the Shrimp Poorboy with Calamari, and my wife ordered Chicken Wings with Crab Soup. Both were very delicious and the price was decent! Plus we also got beers. It all ended up being around $52 plus the cleanliness of the business was great and the service was just as great. If in the area I would definitely come here again and would recommend this restaurant as well. Thank you so much for your food and experience Ocean View Fishing Peer. Beautiful views, cold beer, and delicious clams! Hannah was the best server--so friendly and accommodating when it started raining and we had to move inside. Loved this place!

Ok, the view is amazing. Sunset was gorgeous. I arrived about 6:15 pm on a Saturday night. The wait time was. 75-80 minutes, so I opted to sit at the bar upstairs where I could order dinner. I would say the service was not that great or personable. The boiled peel and eat shrimp was good., however for 4.99 I added the corn, sausage and potatoes. This included one small corn on the cob, 2 small new potatoes, and one piece of sausage. Overall, ok experience. Go for drinks and the view, not the food.

Food was disgusting shrimp was over cooked burger was gross had like lettuce or something in the burger it said 100% beef that's a lie didn't expect that... nachos was delicious though service was good besides the fact she was training someone and taking care of 15 tables that was a bit redundant while the bar had 2 bartenders with 3 people at the bar somebody could have helped her I prey for the girl clearly over worked.... nice view that's all I payed for I guess I had a sprite that was out so just soda water. Yea not a very good experience.. do better

We had a great experience! Brooke was our server on the upstairs waterfront patio. We had Ahi Tuna bites, Mad Haddock and broiled crab cakes. Food was delicious. The mango beer and blueberry cider were great as well.

I had the best time here!! Came during happy hour and had the best drinks! I have to say the bartender was cool and made sure we were comfortable. This place has great drink prices as well. Happy hour is one of the best times to check this place out.

As an OV local, the bar at the fishing pier is definitely a staple. Even if you're not from OV I suggest driving over to try it. My favorite part is the sunset view you get. If you are a big sunset fan try to get the high top seats behind the stage.

What an utter dump, top to bottom disgusting. Imagine a little care and investment, this place would be a gold mine. Great views is about the best you'll get currently. It's such a shame it's withering away with no sign of life.

Last night i decided to visit this place again.I ordered nachos. I think their salad or chicken were bad cause I good food poisoning from it. I didn't eat anything but else there. I have been so sick all day today .

First of all the food here is great, if you like crab definitely try the crab and artichoke dip! However, my last visit I thought I lost something so I called the restaurant..the manager at this restaurant was incredibly rude! She wasn't listening or answering my questions and proceeded to raise her voice at me! Not to mention yelling at her employees! Just because you have a manager title doesn't mean give employees and costumers disrespect!

Beautiful location but expect a wait. We came here for lunch on a Sunday and didn't want to wait to sit upstairs so we sat inside. That was fine but this is a place you come for to see the view. For my drink I ordered the watermelon crush which was not very good. It tasted very artificial and was way too sweet. I ordered the grilled tuna sandwich which came with fries. The tuna itself was okay but was way too dry with no sauce on the sandwich. It was kind of hard to eat. The fries were good but I was a bit disappointed overall. I'd say come here to have a drink on the pier but skip the food.

Ocean view Pier is awesome the view is beautiful the food is great.. the restaurant on the first deck is awesome and the top deck is awesome.. my favorite place . The servers are always polite...good service.. the fishing pier is awesome too the longest pier on the East Coast.. and they have bands that play and they're always good.

We stopped in for dinner and were very glad we did! This place has a very welcoming and informal feel. The service was attentive with a full bar and live music going on. The menu has a good range of options. The best items would be the fresh steamers and other seafood choices but they also have steak, burgers, and one pasta dish. The portions were plentiful and we all enjoyed the tuna bites as our warm up. Victoria was our server and she did a great job! Will definitely be back again soon.

This is my favorite place to eat with a view. If you sit on the deck upstairs, you see the water for miles and miles. It's beautiful! Even if you sit inside, the views from the windows are glorious. The food is pretty good- the seafood sampler platter was a good meal if you like seafood (fried), but I normally stick to the nachos as my meal and drink piña coladas or cider. They have a massive Adirondack chair that can fit two people, and they have four glider tables (like a picnic table, but it rocks/glides), high top tables and then the average uncomfortable picnic tables. I love coming here on a nice, sunny day. If you come in the fall during football games, the crowd is very lively & entertaining- it feels like a dive bar during these times.

Food was good and the view from the top deck was awesome. Just try to avoid a windy night! We were there when everything was blowing around. It was still a good time.

I really wanted to like this restaurant. There's no smoking, it's a family-friendly environment, and who doesn't love a crab cake sandwich under $13?! I did get a crab cake, but was disappointed at how much filler was used. Then, to seal the deal, I found a long blonde hair in the patty. I asked the server to remake it and asked if she could change the side to something other than fries. She couldn't, so we just closed our tab and left. I'll probably try again but definitely order something else.

Food is great! Location right over the water is great. Bathroom is left to be desired though!

Service is always slow, food is always eh (at best), portions aren't generous, reception is always rude, prices are outrageous, and the beer list is often loaded with terrible choices. The VIEW IS GREAT though and that's the only reason I come back. Seriously, pay someone who has some personality to greet your customers and at least act like they care that someone came to support your business.

Wait time was 45 min. 1 lb. Of colossal Steamed shrimp were 9 large size (not jumbo & definitely not colossal) for 18.99. Salad was 10 plus 6 for chicken added. Added charge of 1.50 appx. For noncash. The plus-after climbing the 16 steps or so, the view was beautiful.

Great location, very close to home. Beautiful view. The bar itself is nice and the upstairs is spacious, the perfect place for sundowners. Can't wait to try the food. Our bartender Samantha was really pleasant and attentive.

The view is exquisite! There is water to be seen for at least 300°. You can sit on the top deck and enjoy a beverage while looking down on the people fishing watch the occasional seagull fly by. The pier is nestled in a quiet community which is a plus. The servers are friendly and the beer is fresh. I only gave it four stars because I felt that the signage of the rules were just a bit too much and uninviting.

The pier has a great view and the food was good too! They, like others are always looking for help. But the ambience covers all the basics. As a plus they have a fishing pier, no license needed. Ask for the 'mayor' he knows the dealio

Food is good. Atmosphere is hard to beat. Service is also solid though (like everywhere else) seems to be understaffed. Did have to wait a long time for a table but that's to be expected on a nice day. They did run out of silverware as well which seemed a bit odd. Would absolutely go back but would probably pick my days more carefully.

Beautiful view and nice atmosphere. Definitely sit on the roof top in one of the glider tables. Food was good and staff was nice.

We are regulars here. Amanda always takes good care of us at the bar and that's really why we come back. We have ordered dinner on several occasions and have been disappointed more than once. Tonight the order of nachos contained NO meat. We specifically asked beforehand that the nachos be covered and not just be topped but we still got naked nachos. My husband ordered a $15 salad and it was mostly lettuce. Caroline the manager was very kind and removed the items from our tab. We are going somewhere else where we can actually get beef with our nachos. There are good items on the menu but I don't want to take a risk.
