London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Ochi's original Shepherd’s Bush location is long-rumoured to be Rihanna’s favourite takeaway in London. And this new Leytonstone location is serving the same Caribbean menu of curried goat, jerk chicken, and Jamaican patties. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Oh my days, let me tell you, this place is such a refreshing take on the whole Caribbean eatery experience. The staff was welcoming and helpful, we got to choose our tables, and we opted for one on the upper level. The food was amazing but the presentation and the service are what did it for me, along with the atmosphere. It really did give that rustic Jamaican feel and I would definitely recommend this spot as a place to visit.

Tried Authentic Carribean Food for the first time. @ochi_cuisine is a Halal Carribean spot in Leyton with a nice casual setup and a really friendly team. If course Jerk Chicken is what drove me to try it as I wanted to see how the real deal is and it's actually a lot different I've tried to others. For one thing the effort here is impressive. It's marinated for a long time and slow cooked in their special grill. Result is a soft and smokey rich chick. For around £10 not bad at all. They also do a pepper steak for around the same price which I thought was nice value too. Very reasonable portion and filling plus you get a nice dip for it too. Their seafood was goood. The snapper although has bones so you gotta be careful, was nicely done. Quite a delicate flavour and enjoyable throughout. King prawns were probably my favorite. Lovely broth/soup and went down really well. Overall if you're wanting to try authentic carribean food, finally a halal spot to check out! I liked how most dishes were £10-£12 which is good value!

A wonderful little restaurant, the Stew Chicken was super tasty and had it with Rice and Peas, with a dumping and plantain on the side. My friend had the curry goat and said that was really tasty too. And the portion sizes are generous, we had the standard and were very full, not sure how much bigger the large would be!

We had an amazing meal at Ochi and we will certainly be coming back. Some of the best soul food I've had. Between us we had the Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, and Stew Chicken with plantain and coleslaw on the side. The portions are large and very reasonably priced. The interior had a cozy vibe and the staff were pitch perfect. The ideal relaxed restaurant for a meal after work!

Not the best good place for take away, and i ask for large chicken and it’s missing one leg and two breasts and the wings. Chicken was dry and just been wormed up in the microwave that’s why was dry, plantain was hard and dry rice also wormed up on the microwave…just tried a bit of the jerk sauce and started to feel something on my belly🤢 be careful where you eat guys

First time ordering and it’ll be my last time, chicken was undercooked please enlarge the photo, rice & peas was not fluffy and light brown it was hard and and very dark, fritters were more like bullets, & very dry, no flavour no taste, couldn’t taste the saltfish or peppers. Festivals came with a twisted shape to it and didn’t taste very nice, the whole dinner went straight in the bin. Thankfully I was refunded £12 from the £18 but if I had actually eaten the chicken befire inspecting it I would for sure be putting in a claim for compensation. Never again

We came across this place by accident on a walk and absolutely loved it. The food was so flavorful, reasonably priced and everyone there was really friendly. Music was great too. Relaxed, quiet atmosphere when we were there for a late lunch.

Food was nasty, weird jerk chicken overloaded with nutmeg and slightly sweet.🤢. And very small potion. Non Jamaicans will not know. This is not authentic Jamaican food! I had to throw it all away. The lady at the till welcoming and professional. But unfortunately my experience further was ruined by a strange fella, who started banging on drums when I was waiting. A member of staff asked him to stopped as there were customer there. will not be spending my money there nor will I recommend them. NEVER TRUST A JAMAICAN FOOD PLACE THAT SERVES YOUR FOOD FROM THE BACK OF THE STORE. MASSIVE RED FLAG! I will be fair the young lady serving was professional.
