Atlanta Food Writers and Chefs Discuss the Saddest Atlanta Restaurant Closures of 2020 | Eater Atlanta
"The closing of Octane on Howell Mill was a gut punch; I remember when it opened — I was working across the street from Stankonia Studios and we used to have meetings there with a lot of amazing people. The music was good, the people were even better, and the coffee was superb; they offered adult drinks before that was really a thing in Atlanta coffee shops and were one of the first places I had early successful beers by Atlanta’s new generation of craft breweries, like Monday Night’s Drafty Kilt. I would drop in to power through a day’s writing, then have a higher‑ABV porter to rebalance, and some really brilliant ideas and even companies (shout out to Scoutmob) were born in that place." - Beth McKibben
