"If you’re looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a meal by the sea, this is definitely a must. Access to Ilha Primeira is exclusively by boat (from several embarkation points) and when you disembark you'll be welcomed by a pleasant outdoor wooden deck along with superb hospitality. Chef Gerônimo Athuel's menu revolves around precisely prepared fish and seafood (some of which are matured in a special chamber built inside the restaurant) mainly cooked on the open grill. Dishes featuring on the menu here include matured raw fish with ajoblanco, octopus with a roasted and creamy tomato rice and basil farofa, and boneless fish of the day served with creamy lemon rice. They specialize in fresh grilled fish but to me, the real star is the amazing views of sunset if you can go on the right day and when it's not too hot. The whole fish was good, if a little pricey. Also worth ordering is Linguiça de peixe artesanal defumada, which while made of fish, tastes very much like a sausage. The Shrimp Garlic bread (Pão de alho de camarão) is also excellent. To get to the restaurant you need to take a small boat but thankfully it's easy. The boat accepts cash and PIX.

The seafood dishes we tried were good here. The fish was very fresh and the octopus was very tender. The accompanying rice for both of the main plates was however way too salty. There was also some foul smell where we sat that smelled like sewage but maybe it is just the river.

Amazing spot!! We were a group of 12 and all of us where impressed by the service, the quality of the food and the views!! Was the perfect last dinner in Brazil 🇧🇷 Thank you so much for everything ☺️

It's a unique place with great food and awesome service. The fish and risotto we had was fantastic. The entire service team was very attentive. The main hostess was very warm and inviting. Highly recommend

Favourite, already one of my favourite restaurants in Rio / Barra da Tijuca. The setting, the staff, the cold bottle of Rose wine and the incredible seafood - all 5 stars. Taking a boat there adds to the adventure and secluded nature of the restaurant. Also the prices are reasonable considering the quality and location. Pair a visit with a lagoon tour for a great day out.
