"A visit to Odd Side’s loft-style taproom and seasonal biergarten in Downtown Grand Haven could start out with standard options like their Citra Pale Ale and Fruitsicle series of fruited beers, or drinkers could enjoy the beers that help Odd Side live up to their moniker. For example, the Great American Beer Festival medal-winning Hipster Rye Brunch Stout (made with coffee, maple syrup and bacon) or one of their increasingly interesting seltzers, like Tigers Blood with strawberry, watermelon and coconut." - Karl Klockars, Eater Staff

Fantastic experience, lots of choices, and very nice environment. Service was fair- fairly busy so attentiveness seemed low but everyone was friendly. (Bathroom located far back in the building, pretty small for the amount of businesses it serves.) We tasted several items. Would recommend the CAPTAIN SPARVELOUS' LONKERO - it’s a gin cocktail, I’m not a gin drinker but that was delish!

Google
I absolutely loved how many craft beer choices there were! I had a couple different flights to be able to taste one of every beer! I love sour beer, and they had a few different options that I enjoyed tasting! I cannot wait to go back and visit! They have indoor and outdoor seating, which I also love!

Nice location, easy parking lot, darts. The bathroom was small, not the best service. A lot of tables and booths to sit. Homemade alcoholic beverages. I probably won’t be back, the bartender wasn’t knowledgeable enough, they didn’t pour a good drink.

OMG! I wish I had a smartphone back when (everyone else did…..don’t laugh), but fast forward to now. I have been here a few times over the years. Right now, I have been reminiscing (although it’s May 31, 2023) about my trip in August 2015, when the brewery had not yet acquired every other store in existence to expand to the street. Not that I don’t like and appreciate what they have done, but you know what it’s like to take a trip down memory lane and miss how simple things were. And maybe how cool it was to order off of a chalkboard. Again, I love what they have done. I love the garage doors and dig the framed TVs. The beer is fantastic as usual. The addition (and/or change) of some pretty cool 😎 staff along the way helps to add to the ambiance as well. With the addition of spirits…..I tried the Cilantro Vodka (and I am not a huge vodka fan, but…) and very much to my surprise was…well…CILANTRO!!! I absolutely love that herb. I know not everyone does, but that’s because they don’t know what they are missing. Needless to say I bought a bottle. This with the compliment of Detroit City Distillery’s Horseradish Vodka will make one hell of a Bloody Mary! Thank you to Ethan who was awesome and attentive, to Ixy for also being amazing and sporting a very cool Steamboat Willie tattoo (without the wheel Lol). Also, to Nick, my fellow Mexican food loving friend…..thank you (thank you ALL) for all the hospitality. See you next time. Cheers! 🍻 P.S. this is by far the longest review I have written to date.

Google
Really enjoy visiting Odd Side and am always impressed with their craft creativity. Some of my absolute favorites come from here. The space is warm and inviting, and service is friendly. Only wish they'd consider opening a kitchen. If they're this good with beer, think what they might do with food.

Michelle Quinn

Google
Great atmosphere, friendly people work at Good Side and even the customers are friendly! Morning barista Kristin is great, super cordial and brews great coffee. Thanks for the tip on descaling my coffee maker at home, Kristin!

Google
This place has one of the best ambiences for a brewery. Their menu is extravagant in that they have so many choices of beers. The flavors are really strong so you have to be commited to the flavor to enjoy the beers. This is not a brewery where the bartenders interact and chit chat with you, but they are friendly and attentive.

Google
One of the best breweries in Michigan! Huge variety of beers and not many I’ve tried that I don’t like. The bar is enormous with lots of seating for parties of all sizes and super chill. There’s a coffee bar in the front too. They don’t serve food, but you can order in or bring in your own (highly recommend Electric Hero Sandwich Shop next door!). A flight of 5 tasters costs $15 and pints range from $4-6. The staff is friendly and upbeat. Family friendly. They have dart boards and board games. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Odd Side Ales in years, so Nate and I stopped in and had a drink while visiting the area recently. The space is large and great for groups, with plenty of communal seating and a huge bar. They have some games available an we saw people playing cards. They have 50+ taps with all types of beer. They also serve hard slushees, wine, cider, and seltzers. We sat at the bar and had great service. Nate got a flight and I got a mimosa beer that was refreshing and delicious. The flight is always our go-to when visiting a new brewery or one we haven't been to in awhile. Nate liked all the tastes he got and I really enjoyed some of the darker specialty stouts. They don't serve food at Odd Side Ales, but you're welcome to bring food in or you can order directly from several of their local restaurant partners nearby, then they'll deliver right to your table. Odd Side Ales also houses the Side Bar coffee counter that serves lattes, hot chocolate, coffee, and smoothies and shakes. This is a family-friendly spot that seems to have something for everyone! I look forward to visiting whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
Went for coffee. This place has a great atmosphere for coffee and for craft beer. My latte was made very well. I requested half/half and it was made perfectly. However, the iced americano was a disappointment mainly for the fact that it was small, and completely full of ice. And for the price of $4.50, it's not worth it. I hope they redesign this drink. All in all, it was a good experience, we'll return.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Stopped into the SideBar (coffee shop inside the brewery) for some morning juice. Decent nitro coffee & lemon poppy seed muffin. Paid under $15 with tip for 2 nitros & 1 lemon poppyseed muffin. Nitro left no bitter aftertaste, slightly acidic, and no excessive amount of foam... which has been a common issue elsewhere lately. A good stop for a pick me up, especially if you need some caffeine between the OTHER brews. The serves seemed happy and were chatty with each other. We did stroll up on a conversation about a customer that comes it regularly & doesn't tip. Probably not a good front of the house conversation, yet maybe people need to hear it, eh. (This stop will not count in our Hundreds of Hops tour, as we didn't hit up the brewery- maybe we'll make it back before we leave town tho.

Lori L.

Yelp
Relaxing atmosphere with great beer choices. We love to bring in dinner or order delivery from nearby restaurants. Seating outside in the summer is fun.

Jayson D.

Yelp
Still my favorite brewpub in Grand Haven. I just keep finding new things to love. This time it was Odd Side's take on the White Russian cocktail. It's all the goodness any self-respecting Dude would expect, but Odd Side cranks to eleven by adding root beer. Bring a friend because you'll be chain drinking these things before you even decide whether chain drinking is even a thing. Have food delivered from one of GH's nearby eateries and you've got yourself a a full on free for all. Odd Side has so many staple and seasonal brews. Staff are friendly and let you try it before you buy it. Great atmosphere. Visit often!

Jana L.

Yelp
Really cool space, good Italian pilsner, flavorless lattes... my ube one just tasted like milk... which is not good because I HATE milk :( ... I know bizarre thing to be so passionate about. Call it childhood daily farm trauma I didn't have anything to eat here so this is purely a rating of the beer and Ube latte. Overall the beer was... meh... and the latte I already commented on. Also, the cafe side of house staff were having a bad day or something. They ignored my friend and I at first and then, after we ordered and moved aside (for no one! There was no one else in the cafe!), the one barrista rather rudely told us to take a seat. That interaction was just kind of weird. The folks tapping the beer though were great!

Karen N.

Yelp
A very cool space. It is a brewery, but also restaurant. We grabbed a few seats at the bar and the two bartenders were so attentive and nice. My husband had a flight. The Peach Smash , We Be Jammin, Strawberry Peach Smoothie and the Midwest IPA. He liked the Strawberry Peach Smoothie the best. I had a seltzer. It was the Lemon Elderflower and I did not enjoy it. It was not as fruity as I would have liked. Overall, lots of great selections !

Stephen D.

Yelp
Not one to usually get a flight but this bucket list brewery...I couldn't pick just one. Great beer in a cool building that lives up to the hype. Can't wait to come back

Don R.

Yelp
Great location to experience Grand Haven with a brew. Many different beers and hard seltzers to choose.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Good cold brew, tasty lattes and enjoyed the pumpkin pecan scone we had as well! They had some great seasonal specials and they make their syrups in house which is nice!

Brenda M.

Yelp
I didn't realize we were in an social district. I wish the bartender had explained this more clearly. He just kind of explained things like I should know. His demeanor was okay but stand off ish. Smile more, It doesn't hurt

Tom F.

Yelp
So many beers to choose from and a very cool atmosphere for any group or party. Would highly recommend and would also love to come back. Summertime this place has to be a great vibe!

Kitty K.

Yelp
We stopped by Odd Side Ales on the way to the Musical Fountain while in Grand Haven. There is an awesome outside sitting area to enjoy your brews and ciders. The city ordinance does shut the outside area down at 10pm, which is a bummer- it's so nice to be able to be outside to enjoy the ambiance of the downtown area. My favorite was the cinnamon apple cider- it is SO good, I wish I would've gotten a growler to go!

Victoria S.

Yelp
Stopped by Odd Side Ale's Coffee Bar, 'Side Bar' with my Husband on my birthday. I wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids! I love their open space, lighting, and ambience. It gives off such a chill vibe, and I like that they have hangar doors so that you can sit inside, but still feel the breeze. I got the Nitro Cold Brew and my husband got the Cafe Glace. I drink my coffee black, so I didn't add any cream or sugar in my drink. My cold brew wasn't bitter by any means, and I like that they got it right from their brew tap. My husband's Cafe Glace came with Chocolate and Caramel syrup. I think his ice cubes were made out of coffee and may have been coated in cocoa powder; can someone confirm? Because if I saw that right, then it's such a innovative idea! You can keep your drink cold, and it won't water down since the ice is made out of coffee. I'll have to start trying that at home. I can confirm confirm that the Nitro Cold Brew was effective, because we walked to the Pier, and I got the Coffee Shakes on the walk back. If you're out in Grand Haven and need something to wake you up, I highly recommend the Cold Brew!

Jared K.

Yelp
Fabulous brewery. Lots of options including several tasty barrel aged beers which are my favorite. The seating was largely communal, but there are some decently sized booths and a long bar to sit at. They don't serve food, but a local restaurant will deliver to your table. Decently priced Would recommend and will go again.

Emily R.

Yelp
Great coffee, really good seltzers and ciders and a super relaxing place to post up and apply for jobs! They also have a water refill station, and you can bring in your own or order food from surrounding restaurants. During the day it's very chill and it is a great spot to hit after work and on the weekends. 10/10

Lucas W.

Yelp
Had a better experience this year. Beers were fantastic and going earlier in the day when a bit less busy created a far better experience. Crusher - good, super drinkable Krumpusbock - solid Odd Fashioned - incredible. Holy shit was it like drinking bourbon whiskey. Not barrel-aged flavor, just straight whiskey flavor. No clue how they did that but wow. Bought a bottle to take home. Blackbeard's Bliss- also quite good, but have had some better rum barrel beer of late. Culminating Mass - super wheated barrely. Also very good

April A.

Yelp
Such a great spot! It's such a chill environment with so many drink options for the whole family. Excellent service.

Sherry W.

Yelp
Fun little bar and coffee place. The esthetics and design of the space is perfect for hanging out with friends and groups. The coffee is also really good if you don't care for alcohol. I got the cafe miel. They used local honey and it was delicious. They have milk alternatives for people who are lactose intolerant.

Beth H.

Yelp
I like Odd Side beers. When I saw that they had a shop downtown, we stopped for a pint and looking for a snack. They don't serve food, but you can have food ordered out and delivered to your table, or bring your own. It was a large place. This was the first place that we visited in town that actually reminded us it was a college town. A lot of students on laptops dotted around the dining and coffee area. Headphones on and keeping to themselves. The selections is extensive - I did a flight of interesting brews that all turned out very palatable. I do favor their sours and gose. The service was expedient and happy to help with questions. This establishment also has a full service coffee bar with a very small selection of bakery items in a case. Best of both worlds for sure.

Madalyn V.

Yelp
Odd Side Ales offers a variety of drinks whether it be beer, cider, a cocktail or a coffee. It is a very large space and there are plenty of tables to choose from. There are high top tables, regular tables with benches, and booths so you can pick where you feel most comfortable. I love all the seating options. The bathrooms are a little bit of a walk down a hall and to the right, so be prepared they aren't immediately right there. It is not a far walk at all, but they are bathrooms that are shared in the strip mall. I loved the drink I got, and I am a picky eater/drinker. The cherry styles, what a clever name and a great drink! They do not serve food but you can order delivery from area restaurants or bring in your own snacks. I love the atmosphere and the vibe from this place. During the warmer months there is outdoor seating which is just perfect for a Michigan summer. The ciders are awesome as well as the staff. The line can sometimes get long to order if it's busy, but it goes pretty fast. Overall we love visiting Odd Side once in a while and wish them continued success!

Christina H.

Yelp
Odd Side is an awesome place to visit with friends and family. The spot is fun and inviting and just so gorgeous. I have been going to Odd Side for 6 years (one year of being a DD, since I was 21) and their growth has been incredible and well deserved. My fiancé and I always make a special trip since we live three hours away. We love it here!

Marie W.

Yelp
One of my fave breweries has a coffee bar?? Who knew? The Side Bar at Oddside serves up a pretty great iced coffee on a hot day in Grand Haven. I was sold when the ice cubes she put in my Coffee were cubes of cold brew!! No watered down iced coffee!

Matthew W.

Yelp
Always enjoy the atmosphere. Great place for groups. Definitely try the ice coffee if you get a chance.

Sara M.

Yelp
Odd Side also operates a "side" business in the mornings called Side Bar Artisan Coffee! It is fantastic! The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing- plus they play great music. It's the perfect place to work on your laptop for a few hours in the morning with some yummy coffee, study for school or event meet up with friends! The staff is super friendly and let you hang out as long as you want! You order your coffee up at the Side Bar counter and can take it anywhere in the building. There are plenty of room at the bar and in the booths at this time of day. They also offer a variety of muffins and donuts to choose from as well as other bottled beverages. Great place!

Iheartgrandrapids I.

Yelp
Side Bar Coffee is definitely a MUST when you find yourself in this perfect little town Pro tip: An iced latte from Side Bar is the perfect treat before or after you get some sun at the beach Let's talk about their seasonal lattes (because you really can't beat em!) Coconut Dream French Toast Chocolate Pudding

Elyse A.

Yelp
We stopped in on a February Saturday during the limited dining restrictions - there was a little wait but not crazy. Everything is covid friendly and we felt comfortable dining in. Service was good and we never went without a drink! They also brought a fresh refill for a full beer that got knocked over by a rouge child, no charge. Love Odd Side's Beer - Maya Mocha being my absolute favorite beer! They have a lot of fund things on draft - something for everyone. The one downside, especially for those with little kids, is the lack of food. Yes, you can order from neighboring restaurants and they will delivery.. but it's not the same or as quick as ordering a snack from an in house menu. Especially during the cold months, by the time food gets delivered it is almost cold. Large venue with lots of potential seating - once they are able to! Outdoor seating options, too! Highly recommend for the beer enthusiast!

Nancy R.

Yelp
Favorite brewery in Grand Haven. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great customer service . Nice place to hang out drink a few beers play some cards. No food but no problem just pick up some sandwiches at the Toasted pickle or have food delivered. I should also mention the also have a coffee bar. Enjoy!

Bella R.

Yelp
Lines are long but it's totally worth it, the vibe is insane and the service is quick!!

Alex A.

Yelp
I have really enjoyed OSA since the beginning. As a mug club member, could there be a "fast pass" so we don't have to wait in line, 10-15 people deep to get a refill?? no bueno.

Nicole E.

Yelp
An afternoon jaunt in GH. A mocha with almond milk and a turmeric and ginger tea. The turmeric and ginger is well filled in the bag, ready for sips, smells refreshingly good. It's overwhelming taste of turmeric, even over powers the ginger and that's a intensely strong flavor already. Tumeric is best in small doses. Not my favorite, should have gone with the chamomile. They were nice and let me replace the turmeric and ginger with the chamomile blossom instead. My husband enjoyed his mocha.

Erika W.

Yelp
Super cool brewery that has darts. It has board games but they did not seem well taken care of, so I wouldn't count on playing them. Drinks were awesome and you can get local restaurants to deliver to your table as well!

Andrew S.

Yelp
Great beer and a very cool atmosphere. We went here twice in one weekend. Sat outside once and inside once. The beer is exceptional and the staff was friendly and knew their deft list.

Alicia K.

Yelp
Nick deserved a raise! great suggestions... delicious beers. awesome atmosphere. clean! great service! so much variety with beers.... you will definitely find something you like! great stop in Grand Haven! thanks!

Ian K.

Yelp
the lady working the coffee side bar on November 24 2023 was very rude and made my experience unpleasant. my cappuccino was half full when I received it as well. this is the last time I will be coming to this establishment and I will make sure to tell other folks of my experience. that's all.

Ruth L.

Yelp
Really cute spot. Its both a cafe and brewery. Came here for coffee almost everyday I was in Grand Haven. Big indoor and outdoor area, fun ambience and decor. 3 stars for great looking restaurant, awesome hard seltzers and decent coffee. I was however pretty disappointed with the beer. I tried a few Beers and IMO they all tasted a little flat to me.

Karley M.

Yelp
I love Odd Side beers so was excited to visit the brewery. It's pretty big and very popular, so seating is limited at times. They're outdoor area is fun too though, but don't offer everything that they do inside. I'd recommend sitting inside if possible because of the draft beer selection. Staff is cool and friendly. Well rounded brewery in an awesome beach town of Mi!

Wes W.

Yelp
First visit to Grand Haven and we love it. This place is an old piano factory with tons of character. The spot to go for a beverage. Lots of drink options

Anne C.

Yelp
Great craft beer selection and a really nice atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly and suggested beers I could try based on my taste preferences.

Max L.

Yelp
Great beer! Delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere ! Highly recommend to others who want to have a good time out in Grand Haven!

Allison F.

Yelp
Check! Out! This! Brewery! NOW! Whether you want the hoppiest flight or the sweetest pint, Odd Side Ales has you covered. Shout out to the staff for letting me mix up a six-pack so I could bring two kinds of beer back home to Indianapolis. It was MUCH appreciated.

Liz P.

Yelp
Fun place to spend some time. It's located in the same building as Portobello, where we went for dinner on Friday night, so we decided to check it out. They do have flights but not after 7pm on the day we went, apparently, but you're able to "try before you buy," so I tried a few beers and a cider. I ultimately ended up getting a 16 oz glass of the cowboy cider (with cinnamon), which was delicious and not an unreasonable price either, at $5. Atmosphere is fun too, and I believe they also have outdoor seating. You have to order at the bar, then you can grab a table, too.

Julianna Z.

Yelp
Side Bar is the new coffee shop where Coffee Grounds used to be and with Oddside Ales as the owners. They did a beautiful job renovating the outdated coffee shop. It looks like the kind of hipster coffee shop that Grand Haven needed . And they've won in my book already because they have a matcha tea latte!! Although I would prefer it to come unsweetened. They have a fun menu made with local coffee such as Madcap and some of their items are copy cats of their beers such as the Mayan Mocha. They also have cold brew(and cold brew shakes), smoothies, hot chocolate(Nutella, s'mores etc), signature lattes and tea(iced/hot). They have a small food menu including quiches, donuts and muffins. I asked where they get their donuts and they come from D&W Market but are hopefully working on making their own and expanding their food menu. Not totally impressed with it as of now but I believe they have only been open around 2 months. What's cool is that their owners, Oddside Ales, is connected and you can transition from coffee and studying to beer with friends! Beware that Oddside is currently under construction but their expanding so that's exciting! Definitely worth checking out this new great addition to downtown GH.

Mike E.

Yelp
Great beers and now a light on for Keto folks , try beer me lager ... very tasty , the ability to order food from toasted pickle to go along with your beer and the coffee from mad cap roasters is AMAZING , something for everyone e here including bits games darts etc Great way to spend a rainy afternoon or a work from "home" day.

Nicolette H.

Yelp
We came yesterday and enjoyed an alcoholic drink and then came this morning for coffee and hot chocolate. Great relaxing atmosphere!

Chelsea S.

Yelp
Cool and lively hangout. The nitro bean flicker beer is a must try! Plenty of chairs and tables to sit inside and outside. Free darts and board games to play. No food available, but you can order delivery from nearby restaurants. They also have a coffee side bar with many sweet treats. I got the café glacé cold brew with coffee iced cubes!

Scott M.

Yelp
Was really excited to come here. Atmosphere was fine, selections were numerous. My lady and I ordered two flights. Bartender was a bit disrespectful, but he was just trying to be jokey. We got our brew and paid...$30!! Are you kidding me? What a rip off! This is a row of 5 tasters, nowhere near worth $15 a piece. We were pissed because it blindsided us. The board had no prices for flights listed. This was way overpriced. The biggest kick was that my lady hates three of the pours. Ruined the visit for us. Really bummed me out. I will stick to individual bottles and avoid the pub from here on out I think.

Alan W.

Yelp
Outstanding brewery. Unique interior which was a mix of modern and rustic. The beer was great and in such an amazing town. Check it out!

Carly H.

Yelp
I've been here once before and had an equally positive experience. Hats off to OSA for managing their business with such diligence amidst a pandemic. The tables were spread apart, staff was masked, and service (including the menu) was contact-less other than delivery of drinks/food of course. We scanned a QR code on the table and it pulled up their full menu and food delivery options on our phones. Genius. Our server checked on us multiple times as did management. The beers were incredibly affordable and the menu has a drink for everybody. Happy to support a business that is taking public safety seriously while providing their best product/service!!

Kerst G.

Yelp
Super fun atmosphere, even socially distanced. Pretty good beers. Make a mean gin & tonic as well
