Small-batch craft distillery with inventive cocktails and unique spirits
"Featuring small-batch craft spirits made with locally sourced ingredients, Odd Society is a local craft distillery nestled in the Port District of East Vancouver. The space is beautiful to say the least. And then there are the cocktails, which are second to none—you can actually taste the devotion to their craft in every sip. They also offer tasting flights so you can taste all their spirits before committing to a cocktail. If you’re into design, the branding is also bang-on. The vodka packaging in particular is one of my favs." - WoodType
"Distilling is still something of a new art in B.C. thanks to its antiquated, post-prohibition booze laws, which only got a refresh in 2013. Odd Society joined the first wave of new distilleries, and it has remained a must-visit and one of the most consistent producers of craft spirits, including gin, vodka, vermouth, and whisky. Check out the cute cocktail lounge at their East Van distillery, located in a converted motorbike garage, and road-test a few spirits before heading out to explore the many neighboring breweries of “Yeast Van.” Know before you go: The affordable bar snacks here include locally made Jamaican hand pies and Dicky’s Dumps dumplings." - Nikki Bayley

"An East Vancouver pioneer since 2013 whose founder embraces challenge and historical craft—producing some of Canada's early craft vermouth and amaro, reviving historic recipes, blending a solera-method whisky, and collaborating across borders to create a truly local peated malt." - Joanne Sasvari
"I view Odd Society Spirits as a true craft distillery in a converted motorcycle garage where everything is fermented and distilled on-site in small batches from 100% BC-grown grain. They produce a wide range of spirits—Port-Barrel-Aged Wallflower Gin, Maple Canadian Whisky, Bittersweet Vermouth, and Mia Amata Amaro—and the on-site cocktail lounge showcases those products in originals like the Paris, Texas (using Strawberry Wallflower Gin and Solera Barrel Wallflower Gin) and the Hummingbird, plus tasting flights and classics made with Odd Society spirits." - Sara Harowitz
