Had a pretty fun time here. It was a beautiful day and they were bumping but not that crowded -- great patio seating that offers lots of dog and people watching. We got the flight (6 tiny scoops for $10) and it was perfect. We tried the following flavors: basil chip (Boston special), miso cherry, buttermilk honey blueberry, coffee crunch, saffron passionfruit apricot, and oatmeal cookie (v). Their vegan ice creams are oatmilk based -- the oatmeal cookie was a little one dimensional and easily our least favorite. Otherwise, the basil chip was phenomenal -- just bursting with basil flavor. The coffee crunch was pretty special for such a "basic" flavor -- the crunchy bits were truly bitter and coffee-y. The saffron passionfruit apricot was lovely and tart, the miso cherry was a super complex flavor that might be hit or miss for some (it was a hit for me, deeply savory yet full of cherry flavor), and the buttermilk blueberry was excellent as well.
Service was a bit...strange. The person manning the register and coffee bar was clearly a little under-trained since they took a long time to rang us up and spent a ton of time looking for a cap for the coffee the person in front of us ordered...so by the time we got to eat our ice cream, it was already going soft. Their ice cream tends to be a little more soft-textured (closer to gelato than hard ice cream) but on the plus side, they're very encouraging with trying out new flavors!
We'll probably be back! Great addition to the Chestnut Hill area.
