Beer, Mead, Wine, and Pizza Sharing Brand-New Open-Air Venue in Bay Park | Eater San Diego

"Planned as a new brand from Lost Cause and launching from the Gärten, Oddish Wine will incorporate untraditional fruits into the winemaking process — think pineapple with chardonnay and guava with sauvignon blanc — into a line of sparkling wines set to be released in late 2022." - Candice Woo

Google
The name says it all. The wine is absolutely odd and foul tasting. I would stay far away from someone pitching me wine made in San Diego county. Absolute gimmick. The taste is in line with a 2 buck chuck. Stay for the live music, pizza and the brewery.

Google
Love this place!! 12/10 All the wines are so yummy & different Staff is so nice & helpful & informative about each wine! Drink pictured is their summer drink special

Google
Super friendly staff, generous tasting pours, and enjoyed they had enough options for us to enjoy over 2 flights. However, the wines themselves are not going to be for every wine lover so it is aptly named for Odd-ish. But, we all know wine tasting is subjective. They also have appertivos. Next time, I would probably just go for the wine cocktails to enjoy the experience more.

Google
Easily some of the worst wine we've encountered, served with great confidence. Their cabernet is the color of cherry Koolaid with an odd (see what I did there?) soapy layer clinging to the surface. Tastes like it was pressed yesterday.

Google
A hidden gem in San Diego honestly - came here on a quiet Wednesday evening and Ryan was extremely helpful in walking us through the various wines they carry, a lot of great recommendations! We ultimately went with the blueberry and mourvere sparkling wine which was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend! Grab some wine and chill out at the numerous seating options because there’s a few businesses here. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Google
Oddish Wine has such an interesting concept that it’s definitely worth checking out. The space itself is cozy and inviting, with a quirky, modern vibe that makes it stand out from other wine spots. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back and relax while enjoying something a little different. While I loved the atmosphere and appreciated the variety of wines they offer, I found the wine itself to be just okay. Some of the options were enjoyable, but others didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It felt like they were aiming for a unique selection, but not every choice was a winner. That being said, the staff was knowledgeable and happy to help with recommendations, which made the experience better. Overall, Oddish Wine is a cool spot to hang out and explore new wines, even if the selection isn’t perfect. It’s a place with a lot of character, and I’d definitely come back for the vibe and to see what’s new on the menu. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping in for the experience!

Google
I was skeptical that I would enjoy Oddish wine because I enjoy traditional wines such as Merlot. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Oddish wine yesterday. They have unique wine varietals that you don't usually find and they were delicious. I had their "old west" wine made out of counoise grapes which you rarely see. That wine was delicious. I highly recommend trying Oddish wine even if you like traditional wineries that offer traditional varietals because Oddish had varietals and blends that you won't find elsewhere. They definitely are a craft winery. I'll definitely be back. Also the service was excellent. The bartenders are all very friendly.

Google
Loved their wine tasting. Tepache mode is our favorite (not in picture) want to buy bottles of that once they have it in stock. Definitely check out this spot. Come check it out before it gets super packed this summer!

Yelp
Audish wine is the coolest winery in all of San Diego because they are biodynamic wines with minimal intervention that are all organic and all grown here! Other San Diego wine clubs focus on things like Spanish and French wines, fancy bubbly wines, Santa Barbara or Santa Rita.... This is truly San Diego. Oddish also has some of the craziest wines I've ever seen. For example, they had one called the hybrid that mixed wine, Mead, and cider. If you're looking to have fun and try a wine that is not full of itself but instead full of character, this is what you want. Also, I have a lot of friends who say that drinking wine makes them feel sick and that they never feel sick when they drink Oddish wines. Must be the way that they produce it and just how natural it really is. It's inside of a space called The Garten which is also such a must-see spot. They have Mead, beer, and a pizza truck? Pizza, outdoor oven type thing haha. And a stage that sometimes has live music. You order your drinks, sit on picnic tables with others, and enjoy the beautiful San Diego Sunshine

Yelp
The name should have been enough to warn me!!! Oddish wine was just that. Odd. Ha The hopped blueberry wine was ok. Tasted more like juice than wine. Not sure I'd classify it as wine The wine cocktail that was recommended was better but different as well. Could get a mixed drink with hard alcohol for a better kick and price. The service however was really good. I can see some people really liking this but it wasn't the place for me.

Yelp
Do you like Lost Cause Mead? Are you adventurous with wine? Oddish is for you! Owned and operated by the same amazing people at Lost Cause, Oddish is right next door in the Gärten to round out the place wjth beer (Deft Brewing), mead, and wine. Oddish has really fun and funny wines and subvert your expectation of what traditional wine is, in a fun way. Hence the name of the place! The menu is often rotating but some of my favorites are Rhjnestone Cowboy and Old West. They also have fun wine cocktails/spritzers. Not drinking? Don't worry, they have a spirit-free mococktail on the menu and other N/A options. Staff are all friendly, as to be expected as many of them also work at Lost Cause. Shout outs to: Ryan, Matt, Lauren, Katie, Haley, Ashley, and Teddy! They have a wine club, where each month they pick out a wine and then you can grab a bottle of your choice. Other perks include four glasses of wine a month at the Gartën and discounts on additional bottles and merch. Because I love super close I do pick-up, so I don't know if they have shipping as an option. If they don't, I can see that as a "coming soon" option.

Yelp
Wasn't totally sure what to expect, and really loved it. Oddish Wine is in a courtyard in an off the track part of town, but don't be deterred. Lots of seating (mostly outside) and you order at the counter then pick a seat wherever you like. A few other businesses share the space, so something for every drinker, and pizza to eat. I really enjoyed the Hybrids are Cool wine - the server let me taste before I committed to a glass because apparently some people find it a bit too weird - give it a try! Heard others raving about the red sangria.

Yelp
Just like the name says, these wines are definitely odd, but there was a lot to love about them! We went with the $22 tasting flight of 6. You get to choose your own adventure. We picked some safe options from the white and red list and enjoyed the 100% Syrah (Syrah is my Safeword) the best! Then, we decided to change things up and try a few from the bottom of the menu that includes very experimental blends like a mead, cider, wine, hybrid! While not our favorite, they were a fun, unique experience. The biggest standout is the vermouth though! I absolutely loved the tart cherry vermouth. I don't know that I've ever drank much vermouth straight before but this was absolutely delicious! They have very reasonably priced bottles to take home!

Yelp
Walked in here not knowing what to expect, and I was very pleased. Great wines, ciders, and good deals. Fun lil spot to check out with friends!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. They have an outdoor area with picnic tables and it's pretty casual. you don't have servers. You need to go in and order your own drinks. I did the flight of 4 wines for $18. My favorite was the Syrah . I tried some of their weirder options and it was hit or miss. They also have a pizza place outside that you can order whole pizzas for $22 and ours was really good. We also got a charcuterie board. There is another place next door that you can also order drinks from. We went on a Saturday late afternoon and they had a band outside. My whole group enjoyed it

Yelp
Amazing wine! Even better hospitality. Thalia and Ashley L. were sooo sweet and fun! They made great recommendations for me as a first timer. Definitely coming back becuase of them. The Garten is such a cute date night spot with amazing live music.

Yelp
Oddish wine is part of the garten and provides a different type of wine experience that you won't get in many places. The big cluster was super light and easy to drink. If you're a beer and wine fan the hopped blueberry provides a mix of flavors. The heavy carbs was very bold and smooth if that's up your alley!

Yelp
Love this place. We took the train from Oceanside to Old Town. Then a quick Uber to the Garten. Can't say enough good things about the wine. My favorite was the hopped blueberry wine

Annelle L.

Yelp
Verse wine selection. Walked up and they let me try several tasters before deciding on the tart cherry vermouth. Grabbed a pizza from pizza cassette which was quick and delicious. Went in trivia night so it was pretty packed but was able to grab a table.

Yelp
Great little place to grab a unique wine, located in The Garten next door to Lost Cause Meadery. The service was nice and helpful, they did carry a couple of meads as well as their own selection. We ordered a full pour of the pineapple tepache and a double bourbon barrel aged Haxa mead. Both were very flavorful and strong, the mead was very sweet just the way I like it. I highly recommend this place.

Joy S.

Yelp
Really cool place to grab a drink with friends. The live music is cool, but don't go here if you want to have a long conversation, you won't be able to hear yourself talk. Service was good and the guys behind the wine bar were helpful in suggesting wines. I did the tasting which included 6 different wines, I was a fan of one of them. This place is known for "odd" wines lol, They definitely were.

Yelp
Nice spot to come for its events. Came here for its soft opening and has a blast time meeting with the girls. They did have live music playing by 615 pm.

Yelp
Swung by on a random Wednesday.. I was greeted by Hayley offering some fantastic wine. Turns out it was open mic night. Had a great performance by Miss Ash Foster. What a great, entertaining experience.

Mead/bourdon barrel aged zinf. 16.5 Tasted live liquid vanilla 4. Blueberry pipquette It taste like cranberry The crew from miramar was holding it down shout out to the ladies who work at both locations

Yelp
So happy for a new wine spot in the hood!! The wine is really unique and delicious. I was a little hesitant since I'm a red drinker and their menu seemed more chilled and light. However, i was pleasantly surprised, i tried 4 tastings and they were flavorful, dry, and dang tasty. They each had super unique pairings of flavors like blueberries and red wine grapes. We took home a bottle of the blueberry muvedre which is a definite new favorite for my husband and me. The man working the bar was really friendly and helpful too! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
It was a great day at this place! Ashley is amazing and she is so sweet and helpfulWe definitely come back soon!

Yelp
Good wine, nice cidre but too pricey even by San Diego standards. Large beer garten good for families.

Jason H.

Yelp
Great wine, unique selection, good service and wonderful neighbors - a pizza / sandwich place, a brewery and a meadery all share this location. I highly recommend!
