"Located in historic downtown Florence, Alabama, owner Celeste Pillow’s Odette is inspired by her time spent working in Manhattan restaurants and her love of art, designed to be the type of neighborhood restaurant she wants to frequent. The restaurant is named after her paternal great-grandmother, with a farm-focused menu of deviled eggs, crispy pork belly, blackened catfish, and grilled Manchester Farms quail from chef Josh Quick. Save room for peanut butter-pretzel cheesecake with garam masala peanut brittle, hot fudge, and whipped cream." - Delia Jo Ramsey

One of our favorite restaurants in Florence AL, we drive down from TN to enjoy this special cafe! Odette on this day was serving Saturday brunch to our delight! I had the country ham and kale omelette served with a large green salad and buttered toast triangles... my wife chose the burger and she was very pleased! Their secret weapon with the burger is the house made ketchup and aoli sauce! Our server was super attentive and on top of our requests all while waiting on a large party at another table! We ended our meal with a cookie skillet and ice cream 🍦 An excellent dining experience!

Excellent food and service. Enjoyed cheeseburgers, hand cut fries, spring salad with grilled chicken, bread pudding, champagne sorbet, banana upside down and peanut butter dessert.

We surprised my mother for lunch to celebrate her job promotion. From the moment we arrived, to the time we left, we felt cared for by the staff. The food was incredible. Every little detail was delicious, even down to the thyme ketchup. 10/10 recommend. We will be back.

This is a fantastic restaurant with a thoughtfully crafted menu offering high respects to southern flavors and ingredients. Each dish was greater than the sum of its parts, the bar offerings were extensive and exciting, and the service was s-tier.

I came for the rabbit and the bourbon selection and neither let me down. Sara behind the bar is great. The real star of the show was the rabbit and the rabbit sausage. If you're like me and mushrooms scare you off don't let this one. The oyster mushrooms are the perfect compliment to the delicious rabbit and mustard dressing.

Excellent meal. So glad we stopped! I made reservations to be sure we would get in. The food and service were above and beyond.

The service was exceptional. I was greeted when I entered by multiple people. I made a reservation though it wasn’t really needed. The ambiance is nice; I’m a huge fan of low-lit areas. There was a lot of light from the bar area. I asked my server, Mary, what she recommended for a sweet drink and duly went with the Swingin Sunset. It was fresh, sweet, and mixed well. There wasn’t an incredible amount of ice, either. I was served a bread + (sea salt?) butter bowl, which was incredibly tasty. The muffins seemed like they were made with browned butter and a hint of caramelization. The saltiness of the butter complimented the sweetness of the bread. It makes me want to learn how to make it, haha. I asked for food recommendations; she recommended the cheeseburger + gulf fish piccata. I wanted something different from a fish and burger so she ended up recommending the Crispy Potato Gnocci, which was a great choice. It was incredibly filling. The pork belly was crispy and mixed well with the rest of the ingredients in the dish. There was a nice umami + peppery bite. The price of food + drink is a little high, but it goes with saying that the quality of the items made it worth it. I’m glad they have a seasonal menu to provide variety. If I’m ever in town, I would love to come here for brunch or lunch.

My friends and I had quite a disappointing dining experience at the Odette, Florence, Alabama. Even though we had to wait at least half an hour, the food arrived lukewarm. My order was a sparkling water and a vegetable plate at $26. The grilled vegetables on the vegetable plate appeared to be of low quality and looked like they had been off the grill for several hours. Sugar snap peas were hard and stringy; asparagus was shriveled and rubbery with tough ends on them. The lengthwise sliced couliflower stalk was chewy and had just a couple of tiny florets. Six bite-sized pieces of fingerling potatoes were of room temperature. The layout of the restaurant leaves much to be desired: the tables create a long and narrow corridor where there is constant movement of waiters and customers brushing your back if you sit toward the aisle. The plywood tables have no table cloth. The only single restroom has nothing for drying hands. Obviously, there is no effort made to create the Odette an appealing place: the menu selection with its prices and the quantity of food are geared to drive the customers away rather than attract.

Yelp
The food was perfect! I had the Brussels sprouts grilled cheese, which was just the right blend of cheesy and the Brussels, and so crispy. My companion had a burger that he described as excellent. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. We had a great Saturday lunch in this cute downtown spot!

Yelp
We had a very nice lunch starting out with the creamy deviled eggs. I had the soup and salad combo with the mixed greens and chicken & wild rice soup. The salad was dressed perfectly with a nice crunch from the almonds, and the soup was warm and comforting on a dreary day. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals, and we would definitely return.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance. Nice variety of food and drinks. My favorite place in Florence.

Yelp
We had a reservation at 5:45 pm on a Tuesday night and we arrived right on time and were promptly seated in the dining room. Casey, our server, was amazing! We started with cocktails which were delicious. There were four of us in the party and we were all from various parts of Georgia. Casey brought us a bread basket featuring homemade rosemary bread and corn muffins with whipped butter...yummy! We split two salads: the mixed greens and the strawberry salad. Two of us had the cheese burger, excellent, we especially enjoyed the thyme infused ketchup with the fries. One had the mahi mahi fresh Gulf dinner with shrimp, roasted cauliflower in a fennel sauce. She said it was great. The fourth had the steak tartar and the grilled asparagus and said it hit all the marks. For dessert, we shared a crème brûlée topped with an Apple compote. So good! I highly recommend this local favorite.

Yelp
Fabulous mains that were delicately crafted and seasoned. A joy to the palate ! Service was superb and atmosphere was upscale and casual.. we tried the grilled pork chop over pasta special which was tasty and the green curry gulf fish dish which was also delicious. Good date night place !

Yelp
Odette is one of our favorite restaurants in Florence. We often go to Odette's if we have something to celebrate or if we just want good service and good food. The menu changes regularly and the wine list is very comprehensive. We also love the atmosphere of Odette - it's stylish yet welcoming.

Yelp
We had a huge lunch before coming, so weren't very hungry and only had appetizers/small plates here. When we sat down, we noticed the table had not been cleaned as there was a lipliner stick included in my place setting. Ordered the quail, gnocchi, sourdough toast, and eggplant dip- all were ok but tasted very similar, like liquid smoke. We ended up being glad we were full when we arrived. However, the service was excellent! Our waitress (Fiorella, I believe) was extremely patient and knowledgeable. My husbands grandmother was curious about the fried saltines, so the waitress just brought her a sample, with pimento cheese to try-- I have never had a waitress do that before and thought it was a very kind touch! We did not try any cocktails but I was very impressed with the selection.

Paul C.

Yelp
Great place to stop in on a hot day and get a refreshing drink at the bar. Very nice atmosphere

Kevin K.

Yelp
We are new residents of the 7 points area and wanted to get out a experience the area as residents, not visitors like we were in the past. My wife enjoys small plates, so I knew this would be a place to try. The atmosphere is classy old school and not too bougie, something we like and enjoy. We were greeted as soon as we came in the door and seated immediately. Hudson was our server and did an awesome job of telling us what the nightly specials were. My wife had her usual white wine, and I the Old Fashioned, I'm always a bit hesitant to order an Old Fashioned out due to them sometimes being too sweet, this was perfect! Bourbon forward and nicely done. We went with the sampler platter and an order of fried oysters. It was the perfect combination, the pimento cheese spread and fried crackers were delicious, the deviled eggs were outstanding and the sourdough toast was spot on. We plan on being more regular here once we move into our house in October.

Mark L.

Yelp
Simply the best food I've had in a very long time. The gnocchi was superb. And the best old fashion I've had in Alabama

Taylor D.

Yelp
Odette is a fantastic restaurant from service all the way down to the cuisine! One of the best places to eat in the Shoals!

Wendy S.

Yelp
Went for Mother's Day. Food was not hot coming out of the kitchen.. Service was great Our waiter was attentive. Great atmosphere.A little loud. Will return

Big A.

Yelp
A little gem in Florence, Alabama. Escalated food, the prices can be a little escalated too. Great service.

Eric Y.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. We found it on a trip and we were very glad we stopped in. The catfish was amazing! The staff was very accommodating of our party (during the height of a street fair). I wish I could stop in again to see what's next on their changing menu.

Carol N.

Yelp
Mediocre. After reading good reviews, I was disappointed in the actual experience. Nothing bad, really, just nothing special.

Helen C.

Yelp
Food is amazing, great service! I love how they change the menu frequently. A definite gem in Florence, AL.

Janice B.

Yelp
Lovely venue in downtown Florence. Staff are knowledgeable and efficient. A bit loud as it's an open restaurant floor plan. this does not take away from the ambience. We enjoyed our meals: kale Caesar and Gnooci with deviled eggs.

Kortney K.

Yelp
If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would! I had a few things in my visit -the deviled eggs. AMAZING -shaved cauliflower & roasted broccoli salad- OBSESSED with this! I want to make it at home. So so good. -the blue water burger (without a bun) and the gratin. Everything was to die for! I was full halfway through and couldn't stop eating. Everything was so fresh and plated beautifully. The staff- So friendly! The chief even came out to say hello. A friendly man at the bar recommend I try their sister location called Esters. If I am ever in Florence again, I will be back!

Sarah L.

Yelp
Very cute modern vibe with local and elevated fare. I went twice in two days while visiting the area, once on a double date and once with a coworker for a drink. For food, we had the app sampler which was perfect for the folks who like pimento cheese, which left me to happily eat some deviled eggs. My friend and I had a fish dish with broth and cauliflower. It was a little busy, but good. My friend's partner had steak which was good and my husband had pan fried fish that was fantastic. If I lived locally, I would look forward to dining here every now and then for a special treat.

Adam S.

Yelp
First class all around! Service was perfect. Great atmosphere. Server had an answer for every question. Oh yeah, the food was awesome!

Michelle W.

Yelp
Wonderful, really flavorful dishes. We had beef ribs/ramen and the fall vegetable plate. Food is extremely well-seasoned. Service was good. Drinks were just okay. Cocktail menu needs some vision.

Stan A.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We had a reservation and walked in and were sat immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful in finding the perfect meal.

Stan D.

Yelp
We started with the black eye pea hummus. Was good served with fried saltines and celery. The saltines we good. Then we had the Brie & Peach Grilled cheese. This was amazing. Serve was good.

Joe A.

Yelp
We live in a nearby town and normally save our fine dining for trips to Nashville. It was my wife's birthday and we went to Odette in Florence, of which I had heard good things. The food in general and specially, service and atmosphere are positively reviewed by others and we agree. I was also impressed by the fact that, excluding our champagne, we had two appetizers, 2 small plates, A large plate and two deserts for less than a hundred dollars (deserts were on the house). Try that in Nashville.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
I have enjoyed every meal at Odette's, including Saturday Brunch! Delicious flavors and service.

Carl A.

Yelp
I'm a regular at Odette and regularly enjoy their weekly hot plates. Good people. Good food. Good atmosphere. And great hosts.

Trese T.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food here. We are here two nights in a row. We came back the second night just to get the gnocchi again. We sat at the bar the first night and at a table the next. The servers were attentive. The first night we chose five small plates/snacks to share. We asked the server to send it out in courses, but we got it all at once. It was fine, but it felt a little like Cracker Barrel with all those plates in front of us. (This was a SMALL thing and did not detract from the deliciousness of the food.) If I ever visit Florence again, I will definitely be back!

Paul F.

Yelp
Just had gnocchi, mahi mahi, and steak frites. It was absolutely dreadful. The food was cold and service was slow. I'm not one to normally complain but I was shaken by how rude and terrible the service is. Don't believe the hype. Pass on Odette

Bridgett J.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with delicious seasonal offerings. On my last visit, I got the gnocchi with oyster mushrooms. I was in absolute heaven. Umami GALORE in my mouth, and the crispness on the gnocchi was perfection. When I'm in Florence, Odette's is a must! Outdoor seating makes for great people watching when its not too hot.

J C.

Yelp
We just went there for appetizers and cocktails. The bourbon selection is the best in the area. Some real hard to find bourbons and whiskeys can be found here. Oh, and the bartender we had was highly trained in mixology and made me a wonderful old fashioned with a smoked glass.

Walt L.

Yelp
I've tried this place three times and the food is never great and just okay. The bar is good with lots of mixology going on. They have just never impressed me. Three stars only due to the always great service.

Alex T.

Yelp
While sitting across the street enjoying my dinner yesterday, I see this intimate restaurant with a great bourbon selection. Although I am not bourbon fan, they do have Macallan. I ordered it neat the way God intended it to be. I ordered the crispy potato gnocchi (small plate). What a great way to start. I loved the braised brisket that came with the dish. I tried to eat slow to enjoy the flavors. I give myself a 'D' because I inhaled it. Since the gnocchi was so good, I had to explore their dessert, and one of them caught my eye, the chocolate pavé. What an awesome dessert! I had to force myself to slow down to enjoy it. Gonna give myself a 'C-' after realizing the speed with which I ate my entrée. If you are in Florence, Alabama and you want a great selection of bourbons and fantastic food, well, you gotta hit this place. Enjoy!

Brooke K.

Yelp
Great food ,wine ,cocktails and service. I highly recommend it. Right downtown. We will definitely be back.

Robin O.

Yelp
I am devastated Odette closes on Sundays. We would have gone two days in a row! My husband and I were visiting Florence for a quick weekend, and our first stop was brunch at the bar at Odette. I couldn't decide between the spicy sausage and the bananas foster pancakes, so I got both and could not be happier to have tasted them both. The sauce and flavors on the grits and sausage dish were complex and complemented by home pickled onions and peppers. The pancakes were just sweet and boozy enough to satisfy my sweet craving. My husband had the fried rice with pork and cabbage, and raved about the flavor. We both couldn't finish, but were so satisfied with the quality and skill behind the recipes. Their bourbon selection is probably the most extensive in the county. Our bartender/server was knowledgeable and helpful both with our orders and with info about the area. We will be back when in Florence. This restaurant could rival that of any larger metropolitan area- it is a treasure to find in a small town!

Paul G.

Yelp
Odette's is a solid local restaurant with a unique menu. The beef ribs with the noodles is fantastic. My 8 year old wanted spaghetti, it was not on the menu, but they accommodated anyway. Service was acceptable and fast. The bourbon menu is vast, I didn't get a chance to partake- maybe next time.

Carroll V.

Yelp
Somehow in just one evening I was at Odette's twice for cocktails. Came away clearly impressed with creativity, delivery, service and value. There's a great vibe to this old historic building nestled in the downtown business district of Florence. Cool vibe and cool cocktails: that's head to beat. Their Old Fashioned was well balanced and presented. I also tried the Rhud Dude--tasty concoction with Rye whiskey and a hint of rhubarb. Food? I will come back to Shosls Fest and give it a try--food menu was as diverse and creative as the drink menu.

Peter H.

Yelp
This is a MUST TRY experience in Florence! The is the finest of the finest dinning experience in the Shoals! Odette is fine dinning at an affordable price. The food is better than most "fancy" restaurants in big cities! The quality and attention to the details of the food here is truly next level. We ordered many dishes to try a little of everything. The devil eggs are hands down the best I ever had in my life. We also order the sautéed gulf shrimp, which was delicious, it was over a bed of grits and some greens, topped with a vinaigrette sauce. I had the steak was just simply amazing, and my friends had the famous Odette burger with bacon. Overall, Odette is truly amazing and an Florence experience!

Blair C.

Yelp
Cocktails were great; deviled eggs were lovely; everything else was very sub par. The broccoli & cauliflower salad was drowning in dressing and the smoked shrimp was similarly over-sauced. Neither of us cared for the shrimp at all. Steak (of steak frites) was incredibly tough and had almost no flavor. The chimichurri didn't taste like much either. To the chefs credit, it was a properly cooked rare (which is why the toughness was also surprising). Dessert is where we started to come back around to good food. Olive oil cake and brownie (on special) were both nice. We'd be back for the exceptional cocktails, but probably not stick around for dinner. It feels like this place has the fortune of not having much competition in the area.

Keith T.

Yelp
Had the gumbo. It's actually soup. Not gumbo. It's was bland but hot sauce, salt and pepper saved it a little. But it's veggie soup with a little sausage and a little chicken.

Nicole C.

Yelp
Amazing!! Everything was off the chain. 5 star recommendation for both food and staff. Can't wait to come back again.

Adam P.

Yelp
Odette is in a league of its own in North West Alabama. It's farm to table approach affords the patron a truly Alabama experience with a degree of eccentricity. I drove my family 4.5 hours to experience, what I've deemed to be very hard to find: an craftsman-like food experience that teeters on the bounds of eccentric... their pairings are thoughtful, delicious and artistic. With their laid back Southern charm, there is no need to be in a hurry. The low lighting creates a tranquil atmosphere with ornate style.

Reeba M.

Yelp
Awesome place with spectacular food and great atmosphere. Upscale tasting food with a southern flare. Chef Josh and sous chef Kyle along with our waitress made our visit so special and memorable. The charcuterie board is a must have not your run of the mill board. The crème brûlée to end the night was to die for. You won't regret taking a trip to this restaurant.

Grady G.

Yelp
Food and service go hand and hand; both of which are great! Location of Odette in Downtown Florence create a special ambiance not many places can duplicate.

Sheryl P.

Yelp
Odette is a wonderful asset to Florence AL. The staff, the food, the bar - always great.

Ramon V.

Yelp
It's hard to review Odette, the food was good, but I don't think it's a place I would frequent that often. I got a bad hipster vibe walking in. Also all the seating is basically cafeteria style seating which I hate. Especially when you're sat next to loud chatty people which unfortunately we were. I couldn't even hear myself think sitting next to chatty cathy who already had a few too many adult beverages. Anyways started out with their house old fashion which sucked. My guess is it was the bourbon they used. Second drink I specified Woodford Reserve and switched to a manhattan. It was better than the first. We were starving so we started with the meat board and scallops. Both were very good, but very small. The meat board selection wasn't that great, would probably skip that. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto was great. I went with the short rib and my girlfriend did one of their fish entrees. Both were very good, great flavors, but again on the small side. We finished with dessert and went with the bread pudding since I LOVE bread pudding. Unfortunately it wasn't that great. Pretty dry, seemed like maybe it sat around for a while. The white chocolate sauce didn't do anything for me. Service was good, not great, food seemed to take a while to come out. Then there was the bill, we did order more than normal since we were very hungry, which was a good thing because portions were small. So that may have contributed to what, to me, seemed like a pretty pricey meal. That being said there are places that end up being very pricey but I leave feeling it was worth every penny. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. While the scallops and entrees were very good, the ambience, drinks and dessert left a lot to be desired, especially for the price.

Barry S.

Yelp
What's up with the cocktails?. I walked in looking for a table for three friends and me. Immediately got the table on a Saturday night. This was around six-ish so don't expect good seats any later. The server was very quick and brought me a glass of cold water. I ordered a cocktail and he had it in front of me in about 2 minutes . My wife and friends arrived and date received prompt service as well.

M M.

Yelp
The most delicious Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. The Smoked Salmon Benedict was also amazing! Top it off with their incredible Cinnamon Pecan Roll. We will definitely be coming back!

Adam K.

Yelp
How do I say this? Having visited Odette in 2019 while driving Natchez Trace .... We were so relieved Odette survived the pandemic. And when we were able to swing a drive through Florence again, we jumped at the chance to return to Odette. It's a gem.
