Odette

"Two steps from Les Halles, in the luxurious Albar Hotel, the Rostang family demonstrates that they haven’t lost their touch in this urban inn. Odette regales us with dishes to be shared: sea bass in a pastry crust, one of the house’s signature dishes, veal chops, roast guinea fowl. Each dish showcases the chef’s hallmark talent." - Michelin Inspector

I ate at the Hôtel restaurant Odette twice because it was freezing outside, and difficult to get around. First night I had the pumpkin soup and scallops. Soup was OK, not remarkable. I was surprised the “Serrano” was chopped smoky ham in the soup, not the Serrano chili pepper I expected. Scallops were good, vegetables were a bit too crunchy, close to raw. Second night I had the crab maki, which was basically shredded crab wrapped sitting on a bed of shredded celery. Celery taste was overpowering and it reminded me of the detox smoothies I’ve made that have acidic celery pith left at the bottom of the glass. Crab was unremarkable. Ok for simple protein but… I can cook better than this dish. I also had the duck that evening, that was the best dish. Crispy skin, cooked well, flavorful sauce. It came with potatoes which didnt have much flavor and small mushrooms that were good. They give you two amuse bouche, one was a cheddar puff with an overpowering amount of cream cheese in it. The other a veloute (soup?) with foam and small chopped vegetables in it. I don’t appreciate the “foam” it seems fancy but is just a gross texture to me. Their menu is pretty limited. I wish they had simple salad as a starter option I would’ve liked that much better. Wines that I tried were good. All said I’d eat here again and maybe just do the duck and a dessert (I didn’t try dessert either day).

We went to this restaurant recommended for our hotel. They took our reservation for 12 people party in the same day. The server was exceptional accommodating us in a couple of minutes. They brought us the fixed menu (they said it was easier to manage than the menu a la carte for such a large group). It took not much time for the wine and food to come. We really enjoyed it. The quality and flavors were exceptional. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Definitely it is a place to visit and I'll come back.

Odette Restaurant has a great location with chic decor. The food is beautifully presented — like a work of art — and very appealing. Portions are a bit small, but the staff are friendly and polite.

Nice ambiance but could do with some dim lights. One waiter for the whole restaurant simply does not work : he is overwhelmed and it puts pressure on everyone including the customers - especially when spending more than 100 euros per person. Requires some improvement to be able to stay in a Michelin guide.

I enjoyed a delightful three-course lunch at Odette, Paris, where Michelin-quality cuisine meets great value. Each dish was beautifully plated, showcasing seasonal ingredients and impeccable flavors. The elegant yet inviting ambiance added to the experience, making it perfect for a leisurely meal. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, the set lunch offered exceptional value, allowing for indulgence without overspending. Odette is a must-visit for anyone seeking exquisite food, a warm atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience in Paris. Highly recommended!

Had a good evening here for a date night! The decoration of the restaurant is very appealing and they have a great list of wines and drinks. The food was really good too and the waiters gave their best. 4/5 as we had to ask for cleaner cutlery and the chefs forgot to remove some plastic of the veal. Small issues and that can easily happen has the place was quite crowded. We will be back for sure as the food is really good and you get a lot of bang for the buck!

The interior, service and food are all decent but not special. Plating looks nice but flavors were on the plain side. The 1 star stems from the STILL-LIVING WORM that came out of the scorpion fish carpaccio and the staff’s inadequate attempt to make amends. The chef didn’t come out to say sorry and they simply removed the dish (which we didn’t finish) from the bill. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Sans worm I probably would give the place 3 stars. Flavors were solidly fine but nothing special.

My compliments to the chef. The food was absolutely incredible and decent portions given the quality. Absolute favourite was the bonite fish starter which was so fresh and just melted in your mouth. Very friendly service who will happily take the time to go through the menu with you. There is a lovely little courtyard at the back which is a nice place to finish the meal with a coffee. Overall an excellent place for dinner.
