O'Donovan's Restaurant & Pub

1st time I went was so fun I went again the next week, however ordering food felt like I was bothering the cashier while he was on his phone, and when the staff is doing their job they do too much. My friend takes a good hit from his vape, puts his head down onto my other friends shoulder to blow down smoke, security comes with urgency and excitement to tell my friend he cant sleep in club and that he has to leave. My friend tells him he wasn’t sleeping, security keeps escalating, calls back up and escorts my friend out. If there is cameras down there, Im sure it capture what really happened. If it evens matters, maybe the securities just found their reason to kick someone out, not sure the bar was packed. Im just happy no one got actually hurt, because getting kicked out over nothing is a pretty wack experience.

Been visiting since 2009, I love the ambience, food, booze selection and customer service. My dirty Martinis are always delicious, fish & chips is always crisp and perfectly cooked and the bartending staff is so nice & friendly. Great spot!

Came on a week day. Good beer selection and good music. Restrooms need a little work. Seating areas kinda worn out. The vibes were good though. Seemed very low-key since it was a Tuesday. It was also "Keep the glass" night so kept both glasses pictured. Bartender was very attentive and had a good attitude the whole time we were there. 1 pool table available at $2 a game. Place was chill overall.

I love this place so much i got married thier. My guests are still talking about the food. If you need assistance planning a wedding there let me know im a wedding planner and transformed this place.

The best of both worlds. Nice upstairs dining room and cocktail lounge...nice atmosphere, and downstairs and edger sports bar. Great food, upscale spirits and nice selection of good beer. Friendly staff, great neighborhood hangout. Upstairs is a great coffee shop during the day called Wish You Were Here which TV channel 9 did a feature on. I have many real estate meetings at O'Donovans or the coffeeshop. Fred Van Allen is the number one Realtor in Lincoln Park Historic District and Pomona CA. He is also in the top 5% of Realtors in SoCal. "I love helping local businesses!"

Not much Irish about this basement dive. Bartender was nice. Could pour a proper pint. If you want late night watering hole in a dungeon, this is your place. If you want an Irish Pub experience, this is not it. Cheers.

Located in the heart of Downtown Pomona. Inside the historical Mayfair Hotel. Offers plenty of diversity in drinks and entertainment. The "bar" is downstairs giving you a great pub feel. 1st for cocktails and well drinks are excellent for those wanting more of a higher end lounge spot. 1st floor also offers a coffee shop Thursday to Sunday 8am to 3pm I believe. Tried their most recent seasonal drink and it was fantastic especially for someone who isn't a coffee lover. ✌🏽

The giant pretzel with pepperoni is a show stopper. Smash burger is a hit . All in all food is great . Cool vibe during the day and a fun dance party at night . Don't have to wait to get a drink and the drink menu helps. Great food, good drinks, great service and the vibe is really cool.

I had an amazing time at Odonovan's tonight the food was so delicious from the wings to the smash burger and the drink selection was very well thought out. I especially wanna give a thank you to our bartender Tony he was so amazing!!! His drinks were soooo delicious he was super attentive and efficient and it made us wanna try several drinks and trust me he didn't miss!!! The Grinchmas was so delicious, kudos to whoever came up with that one, I recommend it before it runs out!! The live music was really good and the bands were amazing overall I had a very fun night and I think I might have found my new hang out spot!! O'Donovan's is the place to be.

The fish and chips are always on point. Traditional irish pup vibes! If you're ever lucky enough to come in while Brittany Is working you'll experience the complete O'donovans Delightful and attentive.

I came here on a Thursday night, the staff was amazing Bree and Steff were so nice & welcoming I tried the food give everything off the menu a 9/10 it was just enough.. I can't wait to come back

Bri was our bartender and the attention to detail to her craft and her customers is out of this world. She is stunning to have us coming back but also caring to keep us here longer. We are new to area and to know we have great people like her at the bar made us feel secure and welcomed. Thank you for caring and keeping our drinks full!

This place is underground. I repeat this place is literally underground. I mistakenly went to the street level side to this establishment and they let me know they were not open yet and that downstairs was open. I then made my way down to find this low lit, basement lookin, Cask of Amontillado-esk spot. Right off the bat the bar tender welcomes me and serves me an ice cold blonde, answering my questions and I catch the Dodger game. Sound like your type of place? Definitely recommend!

I'm really frustrated with the security service at this place. After a night of drinks and pool, I left my phone and backpack inside when I went to the car with my friends. When I realized my things were missing and tried to go back in, the security guard stopped me and demanded my ID, even though I had just been there moments before. I explained that my ID was inside, but he told me I'd have to come back tomorrow. Feeling upset, I returned to the car, worried about being without my keys, phone, and wallet. I went back to the entrance hoping to talk to someone, but instead, I was met with aggression. While I was explaining my situation to another security guard, the original one pushed me. When I told him not to push me, the other guard jumped in, and they started dragging me across the concrete, trying to pin me against the wall constantly repeating "do you want us to call the cops!". Eventually it all ended when my friends came out telling them to stop with my belongings in hand. I've been to this place many times, but I've never seen such disrespectful and aggressive behavior from the staff. This was completely unacceptable and I am truly DISGUSTED in the actions of the staff.

Been here numerous times. Especially for Wednesday night karaoke. Today 12/19 specifically, we did not have a good time. The "DJ" kept allowing his friends cut way way in line and everyone else had to wait forever. I understand people tipping to be moved closer in the line to sing, but this wasn't the case and it was ridiculous. Unprofessional. Ruined the night.

Haven't been there. I'm told it's good. Now maybe the icon red dot will disaapear from the Yelp icon.

Friendly staff. Went on Thursday and it was pretty dead. Chose this place because they are open until 1:00am where other places close at 9:00 pm. Needed something to eat. Had shepherds pie which was really good. But, if you're looking for night life, Thursday night was not good for that.

This place is not pretty, but they have a good beer selection on tap, and good food. It is in an underground basement with no windows. Decor is sparse to non-existent, but at least it is dim. They have a TouchTunes juke box, so music varies according to clientele. The bartender filled my order promptly with a smile. Not impressive for a date, but fine for a group who can self-entertain.

I love O'Donovans Pub. One of my favorite spots in downtown Pomona. Always a great atmosphere good drinks and music. The bartenders are always quick and know what they are doing with the drinks. The bartender Stephanie is so sweet and makes a great margarita. All the security staff keeps the place safe. They do check your purse at the door and guys will get searched too. The security guards Chris and Tony are awesome.

I've been coming here for years, and it's a vibe. Music, ambiance, and service. I always look forward to being served by Stephanie. She makes a hell of a drink and is super nice. Odonovans is where it's at.

Good location, good music and great bartenders. One in particular hos name is Tony. He impressed us with his good skills making cocktails. He prepared for us the best paloma's i ever try in IE and was amazing! Very nice guy.... I will be back there soon!!

I came to odanovans for the first time a few days ago. I immediately enjoyed the vibe downstairs. I was served by the bartender named Brittany, who greeted me with a warm smile and a cold beer. I will definitely be coming back to odanovans.

One of my fav spots in downtown Pomona! This place is like the mullet of businesses, with business on top and a party below. Cute coffee shop upstairs and down, a pub you can play pool and even sing karaoke. Staff is friendly, security is excellent opting to have doormen like, Chris, who know how to greet patrons with a smile and not cold intimidation like other places I've been to that make you feel uncomfortable as a first experience, knowing that a bar understands deescalate over intimidate makes me feel safe, making this one of my favs

Lively environment and vibe. Went with a few girls for a girls night out. Had a great time. Great bartenders, good food, and it's an all around enjoyable experience.

Downstairs is dark and dank. Jukebox rocks Beer could be colder I didn't try food yet...

O'Donovans is one of my favorite places to visit while I'm in Pomona. It's perfect for any occasions regardless of its after work or a night out O'Donovans is my number one spot. Not To mention the bartender Angel is welcoming, eccentric genuine and engaging helping to make our visit too notch

Dan B. Thank you for responding to my review. I didn't make it clear that the Birthday celebration was held at the WYWH area and it was on a Saturday not a weekday. I think you have the event mixed up with another event. I don't understand how you can say it was someone scamming the hosts of the event when there were bartenders and cooks working the bar & kitchen area. There obviously was a security guard at the door, I'm sure hired by O'donavan's that was letting them into the private event or go down to the restaurant. Overall I am incredibly disappointed with this experience and your lack of professionalism with your response stating that the hosts were scammed instead of taking responsibility for your employees unprofessionalism.

Great little secret! The staff is very friendly and engaging! The food is very good with a Irish twist. The bar/ drinks are awesome! The bartender had great suggestion for unique drinks! I would recommend this restaurant!

Came here for my husband's high school reunion and had a nice little dinner. I think we were the only ones that actually ate, everyone else was mostly drinking. All I can say is that the food was really good and the drinks actually hit hard. I can't wait to come back again though! Use your check in offer, we forgot!

Such an amazing staff with wonderful food and drinks. Stephanie,Matt, Rick, Angel are all great bartenders and CSR.... Wednesday nights has the best karaoke in town. Thursday are another one of my favorite nights. Def recommend this place if ur in town!!!

Food is always great. But the bouncers are so aggressive about me taking water outside? I've gotten 2 drinks thrown at me now and gotten called a "bxtch". FROM EMPLOYEES. I'll be spending money else where forever on. PS: didn't your bouncer (Church) violently assault someone and cause both physical & mental damage?? I think he should be fired. Anyone else?

Went here the other day loved the vibe and the food was good but what stood out was actually this security guard named Chris real friendly guy and actually made me laugh great way to set the tone for the night I'll definitely be back.

Was there last week. Service was good, ambiance fit my style. Plenty of drinks to choose from. The security guard, Chris, was a pleasure to meet. Made jokes and kept it professional at the same time.

Yoooo. This hands down is my favorite bar. It has a warm feeling ya know. It brings an energy to this city that I felt was missing. If you come here you won't regret it. Bouncer called me "retarded" for using the wrong "exit" door. My friend and I decided it was too crowded and decided to leave early. The bouncer Proceeded to call me and my friends bitches after we left, all because we left early ( we used the restroom which apparently is not allowed if you leave early) I've been going to this bar for years, even have lived in the apartments above for 5 years and never felt more uncomfortable in my life. There is an apparent abuse to women at this bar, do not recommend

Yesterday was my first time at this bar. I always go to dtp, and never had I encountered such behavior. Two incidents happened. A guy was drunk already, and his card didn't go through, and the bald bartender was so rude and disrespectful. As a bartender you should know what you will encounter and how at the end of the day costumer service should be a number 1 priority regardless of the person's status and if that person is not being rude to you at all. Secondly, the lights went on, mind you. This was around 1:40 am. The place closes at 2 am. Some gentlemen were finishing up a pool game, and the bald bartender told them basically to finish up. Then, one of the men that was playing responded pretty much by saying to let them finish that game and the bald bartender exploded and called the men a bitch called security for no reason at all. So, of course, the security started telling that one guy he had to leave when he did nothing wrong at all. Also, the security started to kick out his friend when none of them did anything wrong at all. Before the guy left the the bartender was screaming rudeness and even threw ice . I don't believe this is the right way to act regardless of anything this customer's arr tipping you and the bald bartenders behavior was uncalled for. I will never be back to this place. Pomona has many other better places to go, and this was just not it. Avoid this place at all cost , not worth your time or money to be treated wrongfully and humiliated.

Food is always great here. Customer service is top tier whether you're here on a weekday or weekend. Awesome selection of drinks!

Wasn't able to request a song from the #1 album in the country. Worst time I've had here and the place seems very bias towards a specific ethnic group.

Located on the corner of third avenue and Garvey, next to 13th Room escape adventure. The food is very good! With a large beer selection. FOOD: A+ The chefs are fab! Environment: chill hangout like in Ireland with darts. 2 areas Upstairs and downstairs basement. Overall, this place was dirty and dingy. There was ketchup on the wall and tables were behind in busting (we came at 6:30p on weekend before any rush). I'm not that clean, having been to dive bars all over LA, and old dirty bars in Ireland. Just saying, it needs to be cleaned. We ordered: - nachos - holy moly this can feed 6-10 ppl. It has pulled pork, jalapeños, pick de Gallo, cheesy sauce...the nachos are so worth it! I think I ate my 6"x6" square of it. - wings - good. Lots of flavor. - steak fries: yummy. The curly fries really set the standard for a fry. Flavorful, seasoned, slightly crispy, soft inside. Pros: big portions food, lots of beer selection Cons: a little dirty. 1 star knocked off for being slightly unclean, 1 point for murky golden road on tap

If you're in the mood for Irish whiskey and shepherd's pie, this is the place you want to go. It's a hidden little spot that more people should go to because it's amazing

Speakeasy type of underground bar is a trip. Definitely worth visiting for the experience. Burgers are delicious, I've been back for the burgers three times now, other times I visit just to watch sports and get a beer. Service is always prompt too.

I still want my money back for wasting my money here. I ordered a Hefe and it wasn't. I told the dumbass behind the bar that it wasn't what I ordered but he said it was. It's not even the correct color for a Hefe. He got mad and poured it again. It tasted like a watered down beer. The stupid Viking doesn't know jack shit.

Drinks are legit. Thanks to Pedro, our bartender. Food was good. We had the wings and steak poutine. Atmosphere was nice. Not too loud and crowded. Try it! Pictures of half finished drinks cus they were good lol
