Great food. Great drinks. Great service. We are from out of town and I saw this online. They have great food. I had their Korean tacos which were very tasty. I wish that the tacos came with a side as I still felt a little hungry after so I ordered some of the coconut shrimp. Those are very good!

I was advised to eat here. Typically, I’ve been steered wrong. However, the Off Broadway was a pleasant surprise. The wait staff were really nice and informative. The menu had some excellent choices. I had a very difficult time deciding. I settled on the Friday Fish Fry. I went with the Cod and it turned out to be a great choice. It was the best fish fry I’ve ever had. I’ve been to many fish fries. The fish was crispy and light at the same time. The tartar sauce was perfect. The frites were hand cut and they were excellent. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant. My brother had a seafood melody. I can’t remember the name of the dish. He loved the meal and it was gone in 5 minutes. I will definitely be back for more!

Google
😍🤤 Went to Off Broadway Drafthouse in Monona today, and it was SOOO good! We got a couple appies to try; coconut shrimp 10/10, curds 8/10, and frites 7/10! All soo good, though I expected more of a crunch from the frites based on the way they were described to me. To drink my husband had an old fashioned— 10/10 I have an infused pineapple mango mojito — 10/10 My husband and uncle ordered their burgers, and loved them. Our girls ordered BLTs—can’t go wrong with those! I ordered the Birria Melt, with frites (no onion, I have a texture thing) and that was INCREDIBLE! An absolute 10/10. There was so much flavor in the birria meat, the chipotle aïoli was a nice kick to it and I love a good saucy sandwich. Overall we had a great experience, we sat out side and the atmosphere was nice and we had a beautiful day. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and on top of things! We got our drinks and appies promptly, dirty dishes were cleared away quickly, they continued to check and make sure we had everything we needed and kept smiles on their faces. We will absolutely be back, to show our friends and family this place for sure!😎🥰

Google
Everything we ordered was delicious. My mother-in-law and I agreed that this was the best mushroom risotto we have ever tasted. The portions are very generous, and there are lots of options for all dietary preferences. We wish it had been warmer so we could sit in the outdoor seating area-- it was so unique and pretty. We will definitely go back to this one the next time we are in town!

Google
Very busy when we went but got a table fairly quickly. Risotto, and BLT were super tasty. Our pork chop was a little well done but was still juicy. Drinks and beers were delicious. We were kinda in a rush and they helped us get it and out quickly.... Even with it being busy

Google
My husband and I went for the first time because we kept forgetting to go there. We can’t wait to go back!! The drink selection is great! Husband had the pub burger. His only recommendation for that was there could’ve been more sauce. I had the Cajun pasta dish. (I can’t remember the name of it but it started with a T) Had blackened chicken and shrimp! That sauce was amazing! Husband said it’s some of the best pasta he’s ever had! Glad I was able to bring some home!! Great portion size! Service was great as they were super busy. We ate at the bar (as we tend to do anyways) and shout out to Nate! Can’t wait to go back!

Google
The food and drinks are great! First time coming and definitely will be back. We got to sit outside on their patio. Which has a nice walk way with flowers and greenery around it. Its very private too! The Nitro Espresso Martini was so tasty! Food was very good too! Hence the half eaten food in the pictures (phone did not eat first!) Highly recommend!

Google
Stopped in for lunch. Staff and food were great. Had the butternut squash soup, Frazier Melt burger and All American burger. Only complaint was that it was noisier than usual due to busy, boisterous lunch crowd. That and the severe lack of parking on-site. Spaces for 10 or 12 cars for a place that size is not near enough. Had to park on the street down the block. My suggstion: buy the place next door and bulldoze it for more parking.

Yelp
We made a tactical error, and showed up on a Friday evening during a fish fry, with a wait for a table running to 35 minutes... with no place to sit while we waited... with one of our party using a walker. And that is where everything turned around. Staff checked on us every few minutes, kept us updated, and got us seated right when they said they would. The constantly changing beer list was outstanding, and they were very gracious when, after a couple of samples, I decided that the beer would compete with the food. We ordered mussels and fried walleye, every bit of which was tasty. The vibe was a bunch of happy people, eating great food and drinking amazing beer. Loved it.

Yelp
Went after seeing a comedy show at Alliant Energy Center. Food and drinks were great! We sat at the bar and the staff was pretty busy, so it took a bit to get anyone's attention, but it was fine once it was back to a normal level. Staff was nice through it all.

Yelp
Very solid spot for a casual bite. Taplist was lacking in diversity for my taste, lotta pilsners and lagers. I got the bloody because I saw they'd won an award for it, and thought it was just okay. Food was great though, great mash to go with the fried chicken which was excellent. Service was pretty hit and miss, our server disappeared for a good chunk of our visit, but we weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a real issue.

Yelp
1st time here. Cool spot, and nice bar area. Tried to order the mussels and they were out. Also tried to order the carrot cake and they were out of the Nashville chicken sandwich is only offered on Tuesday. Should make that a special and not actually put that on the menu. I ordered the chicken wrap. It was very good and hubby got the fried chicken and potatoes. Very good as well. The service is horrible here. It would make me question going back since that really adds to the experience of the place. Very slow. Never checked back. The food is about the only thing great here. If you're okay with bad service I would say give it a try. I'll pass next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best mussels I have had in awhile. Definitely recommend them. Wings were ok but nothing great. Cool atmosphere and they had some decent bourbon choices. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
Good food. Minneapolis or Portland good. Great service, ambiance is a nice but it seems to not be coherent. Half Northwoods half urban Good beer selection and well made mixed drinks. Like real bartender made, not just the gun and poor type. Nice outdoor area also Be prepared to park on the street and hoof it in.

Yelp
They need to try their own sirloin, even the second one was inedible. Everything else was good. I have good teeth and a strong jaw, but this was out of place with the rest of the place. I can only suspect the other steaks are the same, their hamburgers are good, but stay away from the sirloin anyway. Service was great, cleanliness was good. Atmosphere was good, the steak was even cooked right, but their supplier is screaming them badly.

Yelp
I ordered takeout today from Off Broadway Drafthouse. The parking is very limited here so you'll likely have to find street parking which wasn't a big deal. The interior is nice! They have some outdoor seating it looked like - a covered area and some patio seating but I'm not sure if they serve the patio. The salmon was good - I got a side of garlic aoli dipping sauce since it didn't come with a glaze or anything which I like to have. The sauce was good especially with the fries! Fries could have used some more crisp tho. Overall was a satisfying meal!

Yelp
Back again for Friday Fish. Loved it the first time and loved it this time. Excellent selection of beer and wine and mix drinks. Around 6 PM and wait was short.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the rustic but clean look. Cozy place for a date night or to watch a game. Parking is tight. Food was delicious and drinks were good.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a good experience here! No reservation on a Saturday night and they were able to sit out group of 5 outside immediately. All the staff were kind and attentive. Drinks were delicious. I had the chicken wrap and would say it didn't live up to my expectations but everyone else in our group loved their food

Yelp
This was our third visit, really liked it our previous visits. It was a Friday night and we knew we would have to wait. Arrived at 6:25 and was told it would be 30 minutes, as we expected. At 7 pm my wife checked and was told we were the next table for 3. While we were waiting, a group of 4 came and put their name in after us. Well, one of the women in this went to complain about the wait at 7:15. Making a scene they decided to seat that group of 4 before us. Squeaky wheel syndrome. With that poor handling I decided we would leave. We like this place and it has good service and food but the manager completely botched that situation. We may or may not go back
google avatar

Malia Y.

Yelp
They have ample seating both indoors and out. We were seated in joes garden which almost feels as if you're being treated like royalty in this secluded area. I ordered the salmon which had good flavor. Potatoes were creamy but could've used some salt. Overall, I'd come back for a casual dinner or lunch.

Yelp
First timers - went on a Saturday evening before a Badgers hockey game. Not a huge place so it was a half hour wait - texted updates and were seated before we expected. The service throughout the night was great. The food was good too ... we had a burger & a Cuban sandwich. Both sandwiches came be with greens while fries were extra. Will repeat.

Yelp
Fun place to hang with your coworkers friends or family. Good beer selection and the food was yummy

Yelp
This is my happy place. Not only do they have delicious food, service, beer, and cocktails, but the atmosphere is so lovely with great music, lovely Wisconsin decor, and most importantly pet collective on two of the televisions. They're always set up the same so I know exactly where to sit to enjoy my experience to the fullest. This visit was a solo trip to take a few work phone calls (great wifi) and enjoy some lunch. The new Millions of Peaches drink was delicious, and not just because the name is spectacular. I also had the beet and goat cheese salad as well as the fried portabellas. They were both wonderful and I couldn't believe how much goat cheese was in the salad. Sadly my photos were taken after I had already had a few bites and sips because everything looked so good, but I will continue to recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Yelp
Food was delicious! We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly. Sirloin steak was a reasonable price with two sides. It actually came cooked to order!!! Tender slices of beef and crispy green beans were a great choice. Fries weren't as flavorful or crispy as I would like, next time I'll opt for another potato or salad option.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped for a girls dinner out before Zoo Lights on Friday night. We ordered fried portobello mushrooms as an appetizer. They we large and meaty and plenty for two, with a great sauce. Then we ordered the blue gill and cheesy hash brown potatoes. It came with 5 fish filets again, plenty to share. And finished with peanut butter pie and ice cream. Yummy. The service was outstanding.

Yelp
Love the food every time I grab brunch or lunch here. I've had great service each time as well. I would recommend sitting outside when the weather allows! Overall a great spot for food and great service!

Yelp
Stopped in last weekend with my family for a celebration dinner, and we loved it! It was quiet, clean, and the staff is very friendly. Our table consisted of 6 adults and 3 children, and the service was phenomenal for a group of our size. We put in orders for cheese curds and fried portabella mushrooms. The cheese curds were awesome, and both the basil buttermilk dressing and the garlic aioli were superb. The portabella mushrooms weren't my cup of tea, but I am not a big mushroom person to begin with. For my beverage, I opted for the OBD Old Fashioned, and it was exquisite! So much flavor, and those cherries were delicious. For my entrée I chose the fried chicken - it wasn't as crispy as I would've liked, and there seemed to be a little more fat within the meat than I typically enjoy, but overall it was a solid meal. I'd be excited to return and try something else!

Yelp
Checked this place out for the first time for a Saturday lunch. I loved it!! It is super clean and quaint. The menu has lots of variety, the food is delicious, and the workers are awesome. I was so impressed that our server cleaned decorative shelves when not "serving." Wow, he's a keeper! I tried the special, which was their veggie sandwich but in wrap style. It was incredible....not missing the meat here! I chose to upgrade to fries instead of greens. Delicious. The menu is so vast I can't wait to come back soon.
google avatar

Drew G.

Yelp
How I have traveled here five or six times and not known about this location?? The food was delicious - the French fries!!! - and the craft beer selection has to be the best in the area.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
I'm not sure who chose the location for OBD. It's odd but it works! In fact everything about this place works. Arguably my favorite neighborhood tavern in Madison. Too bad I don't live in the neighborhood. I've been here 3-4 times and every time the food has been great, the beer satisfying, the service excellent, the vibe perfect. Love the laid back but effective employees. Friendly but not artificially so. Chill. No schtick. Good ambience/lighting. Huge number of beers on tap. What's not to like?
google avatar

Dana C.

Yelp
Little hidden treasure with a great variety of dishes. Fascinating murals of Madison. Talented kitchen staff, cool window to the kitchen to see the action! Good fish fry, we had the beer batter perch & would have it again.

James O.

Yelp
The service was great, our server, who was a young lady with a bun, was pleasant and nice but the food was underwhelming. 16 bucks for a burger that was the size of my palm. Then 2 bucks extra for bottom of the basket fries. My friend got a chicken sandwich that had paper thin chicken and bread that was made from when Jesus was born. 42 dollars for both our meals. Overall good service but the food was NOT it.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
The staff was professional and on their game. We had emailed for a reservation, which they don't take, since we had a larger party coming to a not so big place, but we found out our reservation hadn't been communicated with the staff. We showed them the email we had confirming the time and they did their absolute best to accommodate us. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked because I was enjoying my time thoroughly. The food was out super fast, drinks were on point, and everything was done perfectly and correctly. Not a single complaint from our table of 7. Thank you so much for taking us in! I'll definitely be back!

Beth N.

Yelp
We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a busy Friday night. The pan seared walleye and cheesy hashbrowns were scrumptious! Very good clam chowder as well! The service was excellent. We will come back!

Yelp
Cute little place in Madison WI. We met friends here and the drinks were good and the staff was quite nice. The menu looked good for bar food however we didn't try any as we were off to have dinner at another place... we just met at this place for a before dinner drink! It is worth stopping in for a drink or more...
google avatar

Yelp
Went here on a Tuesday night to grab some dinner. We were seated right away and our waitress was quick to come over and get our absurdly difficult drink order. I say this because it took our group forever to pick the drinks for the flight and they she had to skip around the table to get other drink orders. However she got every drink we asked for and the bartender had some great suggestions for the taps that they were out of. He also came over to check how the mocktail I got was. I have to say I highly recommend the Good Decision! As for food, we started with the cheese curds as our appetizer. They come with an option of dipping sauces. We opted for the basil buttermilk dressing, which was standout. The cheese curds themselves have a thicker breading than most, but still have plenty of cheese for the good cheese pull. The extra dusting of house blackening blend gives the curd the extra flavor to stand up to the dressing. For our main food we ordered the War Pig, the McCauley Steak Sandwich, the Nashville Hot Chicken Wrap, and the ABG salad with grilled sirloin. The steak sandwich seemed to stand out as the overall favorite, even though all sandwiches and salads were quite good. The horseradish aioli on the steak sandwich really punches through, but the sandwich still balances well, and the ciabatta bun is quite tasty on both sandwiches. The War Pig had plenty of pork and overall had a nice flavor. It was also a little less messy than the steak sandwich. The Nashville Hot Chicken wrap was very tasty but a little greasy. I think next time I would get it on a bun to absorb some of the grease that the wrap can't. Additionally, even though the sandwich tasted good, I do have the qualm that there was no spicy heat. It's a good chicken sandwich, but I don't think it can be called a Nashville Hot. The salads that come with the hand helds were not overly dressed, which I greatly appreciated and were a complement to the heaviness of the main food. Overall, great atmosphere in this place, from the decor to the friendliness of the staff, to the food. We also appreciate the selection of N/A options for drinks. It may be a little higher in price, but the quality is there. We can't wait to come back and try more of their food. Also these have now made my list of top 5 list for best cheese curds in the area!

Yelp
Can you say yummy to my tummy. It gets really packed especially for Friday Fish Fry, so get there early if your going to do the fish fry. There is parking and they take credit cards. We sat at the bar and the one male bartender was great but our first bartender just kind of ignored us. However I cannot complain because the Popeye Dream was amazing and I ate the rest for breakfast.
google avatar

Mary E.

Yelp
The waitress and food was excellent. I and 2 of my lady friends were having our monthly lunch. We are all seniors. After we paid (over 20% tip and $75 food) we were showing each other our grandkids on our phones, and this mid 40's, blondish hair, probably a manager of some sort, came up to our table and said "I have people coming in, you're going to have to leave." There was one table occupied inside. The outside (where we were) was busy but people were regularly leaving . We are all good customers even during the coronavirus days. She ruined the whole lunch! (that's why 3 stars)

Yelp
Off Broadway is a fun little place that gets a nice, quiet crowd. Every time I've come here they have had a pretty good beer selection, even when I'm trying to find a good dark beer in the middle of summer! Staff has generally been able to converse with me about the beer menu and different options. It's a nice selection for a small place. They have a creative menu that doesn't try to get too over-the-top but still delivers some really good, unique flavor combinations. Their food is consistently good and the chicken dishes always well cooked. I haven't had anything off the menu that I'm dying to return for, but I would definitely have no problem trying something new off the menu or re-ordering something I've already had. They turned most of their one parking lot into outdoor seating which was great for COVID over the summer. They seem to take outdoor reservations, which is nice if you're planning ahead but can be frustrating if you're just cycling by on a summer evening and want a place to sit outside (it was usually full despite open tables because they were reserved). Even when paying during a dine-in visit they offer contactless payment where you scan a QR code and it takes you to a web payment. Pretty neat. Definitely worth checking out.

Genevieve K.

Yelp
We were in town for a concert and decided to have dinner somewhere besides downtown Madison to hopefully beat the crowds. We definitely still had a decent wait, but they had a texting system and we were able to go for a walk and come back when our table was ready. They had a ton of options for speciality cocktails, which were super tasty - though our second round was pretty strong for our taste, so we had to pour a little water in it to dilute it for drinking. The amount of choices they had was really impressive. I would say the highlight of our meal was 100% the goat cheese. We had seen it online and we're excited about it all day. Luckily it did not disappoint at all and I would definitely go back just for this app! It was overall an enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend it if you're staying in the Minona area!

Yelp
We never would have known this place existed until we were looking for a lunch place on a lovely summer day and our cousin suggested Off Broadway. Once we found them we were pleasantly surprised how they converted a drab parking lot into a peaceful space not far from the buzz of the Beltline. With everything moving outdoors they have done a very good job creating an outdoor dining room with their beautiful gardens. (I have already sat in my share of dingy gravel and asphalt parking lot dining spaces - I know everyone is doing their best). They have paper menus or you can use your phone to scan a QR code. The cuz ordered the Wasting Time cocktail which she really enjoyed. I stuck to water. For my lunch I got the Chicken Diablo which was very good - I usually avoid chicken breast sandwiches because they can be dry but not this one. It was tender and it had good heat. And the ciabatta roll was very soft and the perfect complement . My wife got the War Pig sandwich - also a big success (and on the same roll). The waitress was friendly and efficient. We will be back before it gets too cold to sit outside during this pandemic....

Yelp
Food was amazing, which was a pleasant surprise given the awful service. Was at the bar for a solid 15 minutes before any even made eye contact with or ask if I wanted a drink. I've never seen such a tiny place with so many employees with such terrible service. That said, the chicken was amazing! Wish they had better service or else I'd go back without hesitation, but it was that bad. I asked my Uber driver if he'd ever been there and he said no because he'd dropped off employees there and they talked so negatively of the place that he never wanted to go in. Not surprising. Please note that this is also one of those places that charges YOU a fee to take your payment via credit card, which is usually a sign of a terribly run business. They are charging you a fee to take your money.

Art L.

Yelp
Some friends and I went there last night and decided to try their Sat-Sun rib special. Ribs were disappointing: VERY poor cuts, small, ...and little flavor. Added to the shock was, when we asked for some sauce for the ribs, we found $2 charge for it on each bill. WTH?

Yelp
Our son introduced us to Off Broadway when we were in the area to visit. We've just moved here, and it was where we ate on our first night as residents. The food and service are consistently top-notch. The fried chicken thighs are a favorite, along with most all of the dessert choices. The liquor and beer choices are also very good. In short, you really can't go wrong here and I definitely recommend.
google avatar

Craig W.

Yelp
Nice beer selection, featuring some locals and other craft beer. Interesting menu. Dill brined chicken wings were really good. And someone had great taste on the jukebox!
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
Decor/service: super friendly staff with quick service. Nice clean place with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Food: the food was good all around as were the drinks. Rum and coke was mixed up perfectly. Cheese curds fried to perfection and the fried chicken was cooked well.
google avatar

Marge B.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the drinks are great! All over... A home run for us!

Greg m.

Yelp
Zero stars. Shockingly, management does not care if customers drop the "N" word or other racial insults to staff and other customers. Not a one-time or isolated incident. You just can't treat black and brown folk like that in 2024. We will never go back.

Norm J.

Yelp
Food appears to be a step up from simple bar food, with many options. The service has always been great. The wait staff is very friendly and patient. Ambiance is nice. It is not a dive bar nor is it stuffy. You can come casual easily. Sit outside in summer. Parking can be tight during dinner time.
google avatar

CJ A.

Yelp
We were seated quickly and our server was very friendly and prompt. I got the risotto, two at our table got the chicken strips for adults and the other got the power bowl. Food came out and the risotto was more like very thin cream soup. I was very disappointed, it was flavorless and was like some veggies floating in milk. However, the others at the table really liked their food so there ya go. Oh well. Just an off day maybe. I would try it again but not the risotto.

Yelp
This place is little but mighty. I love the atmosphere!! The food is so so good and so are the draft choices and drink specials. We will be back over and over. They have special for food and drinks. Servers are amazing and so is the bartender. Love this place!!
google avatar

Nick H.

Yelp
Spicy chicken wrap was quite good. Buffalo chicken dip appetizer was stupendous. We sat inside because it was a bit warm out for me but the outside seating looked nice. I had a Stranger Things/Demogorgen themed beer that quite possibly was the best beer I've ever had!
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
Beer is really really good. Food is really really good. Smaller place but good quality!

Brittany S.

Yelp
Cozy, great staff, even better food! Friday night fish fry is a favorite along with Nate's spicy margarita!
google avatar

Maeghan N.

Yelp
Nice outdoor seating in parking lot where they have put up a tent and a few tables with umbrellas. Went here for Sunday brunch. Cheese curds are really good with a special seasoning salt on the breading - a little zing! The biscuits and gravy were not as hot as I would have liked and could use some seasoning, quite bland. I had to add salt and pepper. The prime rib sandwich was a good size and flavorful, bread is nice and fluffy, and the potatoes it came with were hot and crispy.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Cute bartenders, who are always very friendly. Would describe, is more of an upscale menu with some fancy drinks, such as lighting, a rosemary twig on fire
