The Swanson 🙌🏻 Had the food multiple times. It’s always good Tuesday’s mornings are nice and slow. Highly recommend this place. Shouldn’t be a 4.3 it’s a great establishment and amazing waffles. Keep it up 💛

Bill W.

Google
I love everything about this place, waffles tasted great, eggs are organic, they use real maple syrup, and nitrate free bacon. I wish all restaurants go in this direction. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the food. This is definitely a place to go for breakfast.

Daniel R.

Google
Got The Hey Bob and it was yummy! I wish the apples had been warm and not room temperature. But otherwise it was still good and I enjoyed my experience. It was a nice blend of sweet and savory that really worked for me.

Google
The BMB is the bomb and I'm forever grateful that gluten free waffles are available Endless coffee refills it's high quality delicious food. The people who work there are always friendly and amazing. Thank you

Google
We didn’t have the best experience at off the waffle today. We ordered two BMB waffles, a hot tea and a large orange juice. The tea tasted musty. Which is odd. The orange juice was delicious! I ordered two eggs over medium on top of the waffles. I specified, “I just want the whites cooked and the runny center” and they brought over two eggs over hard. The waffles were still good but far from spectacular for $40 bucks for two waffles. Service was slow. I waited at the register like 7 minutes before someone came out. Then we waited like 20 minutes for our drinks. I used to go here all the time, but I go less and less now. I think the owner needs to work on staffing. The folks working were very nice!!!! So it’s not their fault. But staffing was low. Plus I wanted to buy waffles to take home but the freezer was empty. Lots of room for improvement.

Google
Finally a restaurant in the US that knows what an authentic liege waffle is. These are the best I e come across this far. I got a plain one to go -$4 along with the one I ordered. No complaints. I like that they have seasonal specials. The whipped cream looked house made. They pile it one pretty good if it comes with your order, otherwise you have to pay for a side of it.

Veronica K.

Google
Had the waffle with apple and melted havarti cheese. Will definitely be back for this.

Google
I love Off the Waffle! Been eating here for years and always recommend it to everyone! The goat in the headlights is my absolute favorite! Staff is always super kind and helpful, thank you guys!
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh and hot waffles:) service was exceptional. When you first walk in, you're greeted with a warm smile. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Loved the waffles. Loved the self-serve coffee. The staff was pleasant. Food came out quick. Eggs were done perfectly. It was game day in Eugene so seats started filling up quick. It's in downtown Eugene, so you get to deal with downtown Eugene problems.

Tyler S.

Yelp
The waffle was good, but it was quite small for the price. It also took a while to come out. The lady at the till was sweet though! Seating was nice and cozy. Also, the place is kind of self serve, grab your own napkins, silverware, water, and buss your own table. No complaints there, just worth noting if you're planning to visit! Yummy waffles.
google avatar

Jim F.

Yelp
Very unique and great tasting waffles. Service is usually a little slow but all the waffles are made to order and so worth the wait. An excellent breakfast stop in Eugene
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
The food is great, but please turn Door Dash orders off when you're busy. The customers in the restaurant should be the top priority. A 45-50 minute wait for food is waaaay too long.
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
Visited their booth at Country Fair recently. The waffles here are absolutely my favorite. They don't even really need syrup because they are made with a slightly sweet batter that caramelizes on the outside when cooked. It gives it a nice crispy, mildly sweet outer shell. My favorite thing to order is The Prophecy. It's a crispy Belgium waffle topped with a fried egg and two pieces of thick bacon. I like to order the syrup on the side and dip my bacon in it. I usually don't trust places to make a good fried egg but the ones here are always consistently good.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Food was great as usual but the wait really wasn't worth it. I was told they it would take 30 min (which feels long for a waffle, egg and a couple slices of bacon) but it ended up being 55 min. Def won't be back unless it's a call ahead for to go.
google avatar

Marlene L.

Yelp
Love love this place! I come here every time I'm in Eugene. I like to get a savory and sweet waffle and split it with whoever I'm with.
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
Great vibe in the place, it is cozy like you could sit the alone or with friends for hours. Good music playing in the background. Service was super friendly but kind of slow the day I went. But the food was great! Got the self fufiling prophecy and it was the perfect balance of sweet and savory with the waffle and the bacon and egg combo.
google avatar

jocelyn b.

Yelp
Consistency is key ! They are always pretty dang good ! Good vibes, good music , good waffles ! Not. Fast tho. ! Don't expect your food to come quickly! But it will be delivered with a smile !!! We love the BMB & Hey Bob!

Lexi F.

Yelp
I wasn't a fan of this place, you order at the counter when you walk in and pay and tip before getting your food. They do bring your food out to your table but thats it. The food was fine there was nothing special about it, I probably wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Wil P.

Yelp
They do not have enough staff to operate properly. As I type this Saturday morning, every single table in the restaurant has people sitting -- and literally no one has any food in front of them. We have been waiting for easily more than 30 minutes. People who were here before us are waiting. We used to come to Off the Waffle, both locations, a fair amount. But then we read concerning comments by former staff about the lack of hygiene in the kitchens and bad treatment by the owner. But today Glenwood a few doors down had a long wait. So we came here. By now we would have been finishing up at Glenwood. This is ridiculous. As I finish -- no food anywhere. Headline from Eugene Weekly, July 1, 2020: "Mass Layoffs at Off the Waffle FORMER EMPLOYEES ALLEGE OFF THE WAFFLE OWNER LAID THEM OFF BECAUSE THEY SUPPORTED BLACK LIVES MATTER "
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
I love visiting while I'm in Eugene. The food is always great and the orange juice is delicious. My go to is the self fulfilling prophecy. It's easy to order online or dine in. It's bustling in the morning, but there are some quiet times as well.

Marilyn W.

Yelp
Such a great place for a fun twist on waffles- sweet and savory. So glad they're thriving in downtown Eugene. Shout out for supporting Centennial Elementary's fundraising with gift card donations.
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
We walked downtown Eugene looking for a good breakfast and coffee and Off the Waffle looked just right. The "The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" Waffle topped with two pieces of bacon and an egg was tasty. The drip Coffee was good.
google avatar

Shrek D.

Yelp
Off the Waffle bought some butter, but they said "this butter's bitter" "If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter." but they said "bozos won't know better" So they used the bitter butter and charged $60 bucks for bad breakfast.

Ethan L.

Yelp
There really is little to no point in placing an order online for pickup at this location. I recommend not going to this location at all, for that matter. On three separate occasions I have arrived shortly before the time of the order, been told it would take 15 minutes, proceeded to wait around 3 times that, all while being told it was almost ready. Meanwhile, I am watching people with orders I have confirmed had a later pickup than mine walk out the door (including orders that were substantially larger than mine). Lying to a customer's face when they can tell you are lying is just not a great way to run a business. The real kicker was when they realized they messed up and offered me a *free orange juice*, which at that point was more insulting than anything else. That cup of juice cost the business pennies and that is the gesture when they make a mistake? Jokes on me for always leaving a good tip, I guess. They truly do not have a good system to make sure they are actually providing adequate service to their customers, at all. It seems clear to me at this point that the issue is as much the way the business is run as it was the employees themselves, as this issue has happened repeatedly and I have witnessed it happen to others while I have waited. Ultimately, I will not be returning to this location and will be advising others not to do so. Go to the location in South Eugene where you can get the same great waffles, but with actually acceptable customer service that makes you feel like they *want* your business.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
This place is always a treat! My GF attends UO and we almost always get breakfast the day i leave. Despite it being street parking we have never had problems finding close parking. Self serve bottomless coffee and water. Fresh squeezed OJ, and fast service and good seating. They also sell their waffles in packs for you to take home. Now for the 4 stars. I could not give the 5th only because the eggs are listed on the menu as defaulted cooked "sunny side up". But this is unfortunately very inconsistent. I have gotten them cooked differently every time, and not once altered my order. I would still highly recommend this restaurant, just dont be surprised with differently cooked eggs.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
The waffle was DELICIOUS!! It was my first time trying a liege waffle and it was very yummy. I also like the flavor combination for this specific menu item. Cute location downtown. I will say, the service was subpar. When we arrived, there were 2 cashiers who did not greet us or say anything to us. We were waiting to order and they were just standing there randomly wiping the counter and talking to each other. We thought they might be waiting on something but nope! They just didn't want to be interrupted I guess. We finally ordered and sat down and the male cashier was making tik toks or taking "selfies" of himself (at the register!!!) the whole time we waited on our waffles.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
The slowest service ever. It took 25 minutes to get my order, the couple that came in after me received their order before I did. They forgot to bring my drink and the food was cold.
google avatar

Connor E.

Yelp
Right when I walked I was great with a warm welcome. Great personality and that's what you need when it's early in the morning. I got the BMB it's the perfect amount of sweet and savory, it's topped with bacon and fresh basil and havarti cheese. I also a large glass of their fresh orange juice, a must try and coffee.
google avatar

Terry K.

Yelp
Just finished a cold waffle at Off The Waffle they assured me it had just come off the griddle. Like I can't tell a fresh waffle from a reheated waffle. Not coming back here again.

Emily S.

Yelp
Service is slower than the cold syrup covering the entire plate of mediocre food. Unruly children climbing under vacant tables. General disrepair of furniture and infrastructure. Unpleasant experience. Recommend you go elsewhere. And, the waffles are weird.
google avatar

Kierstin D.

Yelp
If I'm being honest I absolutely love the food here. This used to be one of my favorite brunch spots in town and the liege waffles are probably some of the best you can get locally. The syrup is super flavorful & rich, the fruit used is always extremely fresh and the bacon and eggs are really top tier quality. But as much as I enjoy the food here, the overall decline in customer service in addition to pricing makes it hard to justify returning as often as I'd like. I've been here about nine times now and I typically spend $20 before tip for a single waffle (with Nutella, strawberries and bananas + one egg and two strips of bacon). This doesn't include any beverages, which places it as one of the more pricey breakfasts to get in town. I never mind paying for quality food and an awesome experience. However when you're paying those prices in an establishment where you're ordering at a counter, seating yourself, bussing your own table, and dealing with extremely long wait times all while the employees act like you're an inconvenience for being there seems ridiculous. This is definitely a place you go to enjoy the good food every now and then and not so much a place you'll become a regular at.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
I wish I could give 5 stars, but we were let down by the long wait for food, and the waffle mocha was terrible. It was thin and tasted awful. We requested them to prepare a new waffle mocha, and it did not come after a lengthy 10-minute wait, and we left frustrated. The waffle flavor was unique and different. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Kristi M.

Yelp
Strawberry, waffle, and whip cream who can make that up. Friendly service. Way expensive but it is what it is.

Michele E.

Yelp
I didn't know what to expect going here, but it was really really yummy! The serving portions are not huge. The waffles themselves are super yummy with a sugarcoating. I don't love how they up charge for everything, including syrup(!!). Really fast service!
google avatar

Yelp
Overall, if you're in the mood to eat waffles and want something different about the batter, Off The Waffle offers a pretty decent selection of options. For the waffles here, the batter contains a certain type of sugar that gives it a distinct taste. Having tried the original liege waffle in Belgium, this place comes close to serving a "real" liege waffle. To really savor the distinct taste of the liege waffle, I highly recommend eating this waffle plain or with a hint of butter or little syrup. That way, you can really see the difference between the liege waffle vs normal waffle. Tried the liege waffle itself and it was pretty sweet. Didn't need much of the syrup or butter at all. I also paired my sweet waffle with a side of braised pork belly and this was so so delicious! Meat was tender and juicy and had the right amount of savoriness to balance out the sweet waffle. If you prefer toppings on your waffle, there are savory/in the middle/sweets options. My friends who had the savory option didn't taste much of the waffle for its sweetness, so keep in mind that the waffle taste can be drowned out by various toppings. Things to note: Plenty of tables in the shop. Water/utensils/etc are self served and overall, it's a pleasant place to have breakfast/brunch.

Madison G.

Yelp
This place fucking rocks. Dope service, dope food, dope environment. Me and my man have never felt more welcomed and comfortable eating at a place the way we have felt here. Super informative, inclusive of tastes n preferences. Adore this place OH and the waitresses deserve mf raises cuz DAMN they were amazing

jonathan h.

Yelp
The best waffles I've ever had. If you like waffles go to Off the Waffle!!! They are an incredible texture. A little crunchy on the outside, tender and a bit eggy on the inside. They are not dense. And they are nothing like frozen cardboard waffles. Pearl sugar on the outside mares them sweet enough that I like them with no syrup. Fantastic. Also, great tea. Not regular teas. Something special.

Yelp
More like Awful Waffle.. I used to LOVE this place. The food is always amazing, and the service used to be top tier. However, over the past 6+ months, things have increasingly gotten worse. My partner and I just waited 45 minutes for our food to be served (which I would say is a bit long to wait, but I understand weekends are busy). When our food was finally delivered, one of the orders was wrong. We sent the order back, and requested a duplicate of my order. 20 minutes go by and nothing. I go inside to request a time on our order replacement. While I'm waiting for my turn in line, three other people in front of me were also there to complain about the wait time for their orders/replacement orders. One couple had waited one hour for their food, while people who had arrived after them had already eaten and left. Another one was a pick up order. She was told 10 minute wait, and then someone else told her 30 minute wait. They also attempted a handoff of a pickup order to the wrong person. Once I arrived to the front of the line to speak with the cashier, the man asked what I was waiting on. 25 minutes have gone by at this time since we sent the food back. He then tells me that my replacement order STILL was not ready. About 5 minutes later, I receive the food, and the order is AGAIN incorrect. I then request for a refund, as I begin to feel frustrated. The cashier then blames my partner on why the order was wrong. I have worked in food & bev many years of my life, and have never blamed an incorrect order on a customer. I was so frustrated I finally just requested a refund, which I also have never done. The cashier argued with me until I finally showed my anger. I also gave this person some constructive feedback on how to interact with unhappy guests of an establishment, as he continued to blame us on why our order was incorrect. Unfortunately, I won't be returning here. I don't believe that *everything* was the cashier's fault, but more so of a mismanaged restaurant. C'mon, DO BETTER!

Yelp
What just happened??!! First time I've been to an Off the Waffle and this dish was amaZing!! This was a cherish every bite, enjoy the layers of flavors and don't share the dish next time! Who gets the last bite!! This was The BMB - Havarti melted over perfectly cooked bacon, warm maple syrup but not to much and the basil- wow! Staff was great, area clean and I think there was seating inside but we opted for the beautiful outdoors! Will absolutely be back!
google avatar

Brent B.

Yelp
Good waffles, a little pricey though and came dunked in maple syrup. They also sort of forgot our order and it wasn't even busy at the time. Bacon is thin compared to other places in town.
google avatar

Johnnie M.

Yelp
Staff Not friendly, waited over 45 minutes for order. Many people served before us. They simply forgot us. Food just okay. Will not return. Too bad. Used to be good. Ok
google avatar

Dylan B.

Yelp
The service here was very good and the food was delicious. My only complaint would be the size. I wish there was a little more food for the price that you pay. The line can be really long here so I try to get here on off times. Worth the worst though.
google avatar

Kiki V.

Yelp
Goat cheese waffles are life changing -- **if** the avocado is quality. Bacon wasn't crunchy, but all flavors were delicious. Olive oil used as garnish was clearly high quality. Would be better if the waffle was fresh and crispy, and not soft room temperature.
google avatar

Tomas C.

Yelp
More restaurants should be like Off the waffle: they stick to what they do best. It's all waffles, all the time. Sweet or savory, they are amazingly good. I like The Fruit Party, because the fruit is amazingly ripe every time. It's a counter order, but the table service is quite good. It's top notch breakfast.

Haley M.

Yelp
while the people working were super sweet and helpful the food is an outrageous price for what you get. we ordered 2 waffles, a side of bacon, and a side of eggs with 2 drinks and it was 40 dollars. this is pretty typical now a days but the portion sizes for the eggs and bacon is crazy for the price! highly recommend going somewhere else where you might actually get your worth out of your money.
google avatar

Colin P.

Yelp
The waffle was ok but let's talk about the horrible high way robbery prices. 5 bucks for two slices of bacon. Next time I'll just make my own waffle and bacon.. The people running this thing don't care about the community and are banking off the novelty. Ended up spending 17.50 on a single waffle and two pieces of mediocre bacon. Won't be returning and judging from other reviews this isn't even as bad as waiting hours for a messed up order or a single waffle. They need to get their sh$& together !
google avatar

Charlotte N.

Yelp
Strange menu...everything waffles, no bread!! The waffle topped with egg and bacon had just the right amount of syrup. You must try it!

james b.

Yelp
Overpriced, small portions, non existent service (while asking for a tip starting at 15%), and dirty tables that I had to clean myself because no staff felt the need to keep the area clean for customers. Won't be back and I'd recommend going somewhere else for a more substantial and fulfilling breakfast.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Sadly was pretty disappointed with Off the Waffle. I had heard some good things around so I stopped by to try it out. The waffles were meh, the employees were a little stand-offish, and the whole place definitely has a vibe that I did't jive with. I don't think I'll be stopping by again unfortunately.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
"Wasn't bad, probably won't go again. They missed my extra egg. Kind of expensive." That's per my husband when I asked what he thought of it. And, I have to agree. He ordered the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, adding an extra egg and havarti cheese. Well, as above, they forgot the second egg the first time around and the other one was overcooked--no "oozing yolk" like the list all over the menu. I ordered the Goat in Headlights. Overall, it was tasty with a good amount of avocado and my over easy eggs were cooked just right. But, it was a bit lacking on the "goat" side of the equation with just small smear of goat cheese across the waffle cracks, maybe hitting 5-6 squares. The restaurant is set up as fast-casual. You order at the counter, get a number sign, have a seat, and your food is brought to you. I would expect the menu prices for a full service restaurant but not when I am also bussing my own table. I'd been curious about Off the Waffle for a while now, so I'm glad we finally tried it. And don't get me wrong, 3-stars is not bad. It's a solid "good" but nothing more.
google avatar

Urvashi G.

Yelp
I finally visited here few weeks back, after living in Eugene for a long time. I just never got to it, even though pretty much everyone I know, asked me to. But like they say, better late than never! You order the food at the counter, before picking a seat. I got the Wiffle, whereas my boyfriend got the Goat in Headlights and coffee. We waited for 10-15 mins and finally our food was served. It looked so good and tasted even better. I get the hype. If you are really into waffles, you will enjoy this place a lot. Reading their menu, I appreciated their creativity. I enjoyed the food a lot. Waffles tasted delicious and light and what's not to like about Nutella waffles anyways?! It is borderline on expensive side. However, their frozen waffle package might be the way to go for those worried about budget.
google avatar

Bill Z.

Yelp
So my wife and I finally made it back after 8 years since we first came across this place while traveling. We live in the PNW now so hopefully we'll make it back more often when visiting Eugene. Great waffles! I did the fruit party waffle and it was delicious! The fruit was nice and ripe, lots of whip cream, and that yummy waffle. My only disappointment was I had ordered coffee and had to wait for them to get some made. By the time that happened I had already finished my waffle and we headed out the door. Luckily I really didn't need anything to drink when eating the waffle, so no worries.
google avatar

Patrick W.

Yelp
This place used to be so busy and decently fast at getting you your food. I don't know why it's slowed down so much. Maybe the new hours or just the pandemic but it's sad to see one one of my favorite places start to decline. Food is still worth it. Parking nearby is easy. Just be prepared to wait I guess.
google avatar

Kriss V.

Yelp
What a great breakfast! I had the Hay Bob with apples ((my favorite) and my husband had The Goat in the Headlights. The orange juice was fresh fresh fresh! Service was fantastic.
google avatar

Neil A.

Yelp
This place is total crap. Way too much for some bad food. Just go to Addi's in Springfield for some good breakfast at a great price.
google avatar

Kelli B.

Yelp
Slowest service ever. It took over an hour for us to get a waffle and the restaurant is not even busy- only a couple tables. There was no explanation and the staff didn't even come over to check in. They surround you by pictures of waffles and food and you sit here for an hour waiting for a waffle.. it's a torture chamber. When our food finally arrived the eggs were over cooked and the bacon was cold and burnt. They charge $5.00 for 2 small pieces of cold shitty bacon. We won't be back.
