I went with my friend and we both had a great time. I ordered a cold brew (dark roast) and I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted good. On the other hand, my friend ordered a house blend tea and a soft pretzel. She said the pretzel was very fluffy and the tea was tasty, so I believe she enjoyed what she ordered.

Food: I got the breakfast sandwich with the gluten-free English muffin. I was impressed they had this option and then they could remove the cheese because they assemble it there. I do wish it had some kind of sauce or something as it was a bit dry, but overall, it was a good sandwich and usually I’m not a big fan of breakfast sandwiches cause I think the egg can be questionable Drink: oat miel was very good! A delightful, fun coffee shop and cafe in the downtown area of Park Ridge. I got a hot latte here that was delicious and I brought home a bag of beans from Dark Matter Coffee which is one of my favorites. They have an impressive food menu that looks delicious as well. They have a lot of seating. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. This is definitely a place you'll want to check out.

Very cool spot, walkable area with multiple businesses and easy parking. They have a brewery and a coffee shop attached to each other, we only got to experience the coffee shop side. Coffee was great, they had some nice seasonal drinks. Food was only ok, but it was reasonably priced and overall we enjoyed it.

Very nice location just opposite the train station. Was really impressed about the graffiti on the wall and the nice service we received. I honestly made a mistake not leaving a tip as I'm not used to habits in the US, but surely next time I would not make the same mistake. I got a sandwich and it was awesome. For us this was better than waiting long hours at the airport.

Used to really enjoy coming here for great coffee/tea drinks and the cozy vibe, but lately the service has made it way less enjoyable. After a long wait and it became obvious my drink order was forgotten, I inquired about it. The young staffer looked annoyed that she had to get off her cell phone (the rest of the staff was also occupied on their phones). She then slammed my drink on the counter and shouted my name, knowing full well I was the only customer waiting for a drink. Lovely!

Delicious speciality coffee and pastries! I stopped in for a blueberry lemon scope and Claude’s meadows latte. Nice afternoon pick me up during the workday. The staff were very friendly and service was fast. They have vegan and gluten free options as well. I love Dark Matter coffee and it’s nice to find it served outside of Chicago as well. 💖☕️😊

Wonderful local coffee spot! My sister and I found it during a weekend trip and went more than once because we enjoyed the coffee/food options and the atmosphere. Menu is a good mix of pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Pictured is the Quiet Car, which tasted very good! Staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming and unique. There are a variety of board games available for guests to check out and play.

I was looking to meet up with an internet friend and wanted to find some place that was a midpoint for us both. I found this place on Google and I am so happy that I did! It's tucked away behind the railroad tracks in downtown Park Ridge on Main Street. It is the cutest little place and I could spend all day there! Even for being as busy as it was on a random Thursday morning in November, it wasn't loud. The staff is super nice and ready and willing to answer any questions you have! I didn't try the food but everything was smelling amazing so I definitely need to go back! My lavender vanilla latte however was magnificent. If you follow my reviews you know that's my go-to flavor almost anywhere that has it. They have a great range of coffee available and as you'll see they offer quite a few food options as well! They also carry a great selection of Dark Matter Coffee! There's a wall of board games, which you'll see in my pictures, so it would be a lot of fun for groups or even just a couple people! They have a cozy little seating area in the back but also plenty of tables and a couple cushy booths as well! If you're looking for a cute, almost hidden local coffee spot, definitely check them out! I 100% will be going back. PS the mural art is amazing! Make sure you look at all my pictures! ** I'd like to also highlight the accessibility of this little shop! They have a ramp and stairs that are both very easy to use. Also love the gender neutral bathrooms**

A good reason to come to this coffee shop on my birthday! I get my five dollar reward from the sister business here on the wall.. really nice, hard-working ladies behind the counter and delicious dark matter coffee! You can't go wrong with the café with a few free seats! It's a cozy café, the seating and people sitting in chitchatting and quiet music .. and people working on computer sitting at the bar

Had high hopes for this downtown Park Ridge coffee shop but left feeling disappointed. My husband and I visited Off The Wall Cafe on a Saturday. They were a bit busy but staff was hustling to turn orders around quickly. Their menu is smaller but has some good options. I ordered the Hot Pumpkin Spice Latte and my husband the Chai Latte. Both felt rather one note and underwhelming. Prices were fair and the inside had a fun atmosphere. Wish we loved this more but happy we ventured in to try it out.

10/04/25 - Cool little Cafe on Main Street in Park Ridge. I was driving through & grabbed a coffee & pastry. They have a nice variety of coffee, teas, pastries & sandwiches in a nice environment. There is a large outdoor dining area (at least for the time being? The weather is going g to cool off considerably in the next few days as it is fall w/winter right around the corner

Good seasonal coffee selections. I also had a great blueberry lemon scone. They had a good amount of pastries to pick from. I wish they wouldn't have cinnamon rolls or something, but plenty of muffins and scones to chose from. The place was clean and had plenty of seats. Parking is street parking. Baristas were friendly and fast. A little pricey for coffee, but I guess that's how it is now a days.

The coffee was good. This place apparently used to be the other concept owned by Beer on the Wall, but as of February 2025 they are separately owned. I had a chai and it was pretty good. They have a small menu, though I'm not sure how that may change with the new management. It's a popular place--when I stopped here in on the weekend there was a lot of folks eating in and a bunch also came in to place to place to go orders. The place is not incredibly large but it's comfortable and has lots of space. One of the best things about them is that they have board games! A bunch of them and some good titles as well. Is there a board game group in Park Ridge of which I'm not aware?? There's ones for newer players and ones for seasoned board gamers. I can't wait to visit with someone and play a game, or maybe bring my own to play.

Lovely little cozy cafe! Prices were reasonable and the coffee was absolutely delicious! I got the cozy hot latte and the express train sandwich, highly recommend both! The service was friendly and quick. I will definitely be returning!

It's a large space and they have a huge variety of games that can be borrowed but I was not impressed by the food or coffee. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and hash brown with a dirty chai latte. The sandwich came cold, the hashbrown patty was soggy instead of crispy, and the drink was just okay.

Visited a while ago for their coffee specifically the lavender flavored coffee which was around during the summer time. It was okay. Came back today for a festive drink to start the day, ordered the cookie butter and cozy latte. I lost about $20 for some burnt espresso that was not COZY at all but at least had some sweetener to mask the unbearable taste. The cookie butter was not only burnt but sour and bitter, no amount of sugar or sweetener made it drinkable. Couldn't even get greeted when I walked in. Thanks but no thanks. Never again.

Coffee sucks. Rude workers. No "Hi" or "Welcome". They like to rush you once you step foot inside the building. Do better. Customer service sucks!! 10 minutes for coffee too?! Why you may ask? All these workers are just talking to each other instead of working. Stop yapping and look at how many shots of espresso is in my coffee because it is terrible!!

If you're trying to grab a quick coffee before the train you should stick to Starbucks (otherwise you'll miss your train). This is due to the fact that the coffee shop is on the opposite side of the inbound trains. And they are reaaalllly slow going. However, If you've got the day off and have time to wait for a coffee then you should be fine.

I am gluten free, so it was great that I found this place while I was in town. I got the express train on gluten free bread (I think it was an English muffin), which was good. But they left out the cheese, so it was kind of dry. I got 2 hashbrowns, and they were pretty moist and soggy, so we barely ate those. They just put them in a container with no wrapping. Also, when I called to make the order, the person who took my order was acting pretty dumb like she forgot all her training for taking an order. If service was better, I'd give them 5 stars.

Great coffee shop surrounded by other stores. If you are in no rush, enjoy your cup of coffee while playing one of many board games available to play in store. I ordered to the LaVilla - Lavender, vanilla, milk & espresso to go. It tasted great and I'd order it again. The staff was great and knowledgeable about the coffee beans available for purchase. The store was clean and has a good atmosphere.

I found this cute little coffee shop via Yelp and decided to try it as it was on my radar for a while. The place is located in downtown Park Ridge parallel to the Metra station. The coffee shop is adjacent to Beer on the Wall, but it seems like the coffee shop is its own business. When I first entered, I found the ambience to be an interesting mix of pub/cafe due to the brick walls, dim warm lighting, and hushed voices. The entrance, while small and cramped, has a wheelchair accessible ramp. The back of the cafe opens into a space decorated with small booths and tables. I appreciated the large wall dedicated exclusively to board games. I could see myself and a couple of friends having a grand old time as a result. However, the place for me wasn't anything too spectacular, and I'd extend the feeling to their menu and coffee selection. I got a hot 16oz rose latte and a breakfast sandwich, totalling $12. I don't believe my purchase was worth the price as the latte itself wasn't anything unique to Off The Wall, and the breakfast sandwich - sausage, bacon, and cheese on a toasted English muffin - was dry and about the size of my palm. I'm glad I finally visited Off the Wall. While it's not my cup of joe, I do see and understand the appeal.

Off the Wall café is such a cute spot in park ridge where you can go and do your work and have a nice cup of coffee and munch on some food! They also have a wall full of board games if you just want to go and relax The service is quick!

I love this local establishment. They have delicious coffee options, the service is so friendly and welcoming, there's plenty of board games to try here, and trivia nights on Wednesday are so much fun. My boyfriend and I came here for our first date so this place holds a special place in our hearts. We recently discovered that there's weekly trivia nights here on Wednesday at 7 pm with a $30 minimum per table. The trivia event itself is free but buy drinks and food to support the cafe. Come give Off the Wall a try!

Update: I've been here another handful of times and can say that the drinks and food have been delicious. I've tried the london fog, more milk tea options, and the pretzels since my last review, which were all delicious. They've only messed up my drink one time (by over brewing it/possibly burning it) and made a new one free of charge. The service here is always friendly and fast, and I must be considered a regular because Audrey (one of the lovely employees) remembers my orders! The ambiance and music is always perfect too. I love this place and will always recommend it.

This place is great! First time going here but for some place in the suburbs it really stands out! It probably would get a 4 star in Evanston, but since it's in park ridge and really no other near by places are like this, it's an easy 5. Not too expensive. The pour over was nice (I do wish they used slightly nicer beans) but it's definitely a vibe. Huge plus for having a full bar too! Great location as well, nice restaurants near by!

I dropped by this location on a whim and was so pleased with my visit. This part of Park Ridge is hopping during the summer and it's fun to see which businesses have opened over the past few years. I hadn't been here before and needed my coffee fix. Street parking was easy for me (morning, weekday), and the staff were so kind. I had the iced miel latte, which hit the spot. They brew Dark Matter coffee and have indoor and outdoor seating. I had a cake pop here, too, but I'd stick to the coffee next time. Lots of board games to rent here, too, in addition to trivia contests if you want to hang out over here and play.

I will give them three stars because the coffee is good and it was a well-made drink, but it shouldn't take longer than two minutes to make a latte it was dead slow in there and each drink took 3 to 4 minutes to make and I waited 10 minutes. I've been a barista and I was cranking out lattes in 30 seconds in a busy joint. It was the dude with the beanie and it's just constructive criticism to pick up the pace, you can do it faster I promise.

What a fun place. You can get cocktails or beer from beer on the wall next door. Friendly service and great drink options. They also serve coffee which I did not try. My husband had the Moscow mule which he loved. I went for the basic vodka and soda. Come here- you will love it! Kamryn is a great bartender!

I love the concept of this cafe. Coffee or wine. I ordered the Lavilla and it's so good. I opted for heavy cream instead of milk. Their nachos is so good and very unique. It's a place you could hang out with tour friends. Service is good too.

Dominick was adorable and delightful!- what a cute sweetheart! Meg was knowledgeable, generous, and helpful! Overall - great first experience to the business *&* town of Park Ridge.! My only reason for not offering a 5 Star is the lack of 'healthy'.ish food / snack options (always an Integrative Nutritionist & Holistic Health Practitioner). But the Dark Matter coffee (hey, Chicago!) makes up for it a bit. I do miss Puerto Rico .. but I'm also happy to be here, at this cute little coffee shop - downtown / steps from the Metra train station. Yayy! :-)

Randomly came across this coffee shop as we are new to the area, i would give the service zero stars as they clearly did not want to be there. Coffee was a disappointment as well.

Cute alert! Off the Wall Cafe is adorable and more *off the beaten path* than off the wall ;-) It's so deserving of your visit, so don't let this one pass you by. The outside is unassuming, but it was very inviting and large once inside. I can see how this place would be hopping in non-Covid times. In the back there were many tables to choose from. I met up with a dear friend for coffee, and once inside, we went up a few stairs and were greeted by a friendly barista ready to take our coffee order. The menu was extensive, but not overwhelming. I typically order a vanilla latte, but I have to say the almond syrup on the board caught my eye, and I was sold! I honestly had one of the best lattes I've had in a really long time. The coffee they brew is Dark Matter, and that's another plus for me. Aside from their coffee menu, you'll discover a bar with a nice wine menu (hence the adjoining wine shop). You can walk from one business to the next! They had a little market of gifts, from bags of Dark Matter coffee, local treats, Off The Wall branded t-shirts, and a donut case. On one wall, they also had a bookcase loaded with games (to play when times are safer). What fun! After grabbing our coffee, we sat at one of the outside tables. It was a bit chilly, but we braved the cold for as long as we could. It was kind of like being in Colorado :-) There was a heater next to us, but it was not turned on. 10:30am on a Sunday morning was a great time to drop by for a visit. It was quiet, but there were others ahead of us that just left, so we probably beat the rush.

Came here to get some work done in the afternoon. Nice place not far from the train in the Park Ridge neighborhood. I wasn't a big fan of their bagel but they had a really good GF blueberry muffin and the coffee was good too (I believe it was dark matter coffee). Good wifi and friendly service.

I popped in here this past Sunday to grab a coffee to go and meet a dear friend to catch up outside :) They have outdoor seating still set up and they have a heat lamp outside but it wasn't on when we were out there. Had it been on, we probably could have stayed for hours! It was still nice to have the option outside. Anyways, this cafe is a little hard to find from the outside as their company name is only on their door. Plenty of parking spots however available out front and 10:30AM is the time to go because no one was there! The inside of the cafe looks like it would be a really fun time, in normal times. The cafe counter doubles as a bar- how cool is that? They had a pretty simple menu, which I like at coffee shops. They had specialty beverages and the normal drip coffee selections. I got a normal drip coffee and the prices were reasonable. They had a variety of milk selection also which is a plus.The associate was friendly and was wearing a mask. It was nice to see the COVID precaution posters inside and the stools and such were up to communicate that they were not promoting indoor dining at this time-great to see. They had a bunch of small items to shop around at the counter also and I thought that was a cool touch. From apparel, to mugs and even wine and drink kits to-go, they have a little bit of everything here! I will definitely be coming back here, maybe when it gets a tad bit warmer so it's more enjoyable outside :)

As long as the weather is temperate we're continuing to do little excursions. Today we headed out of our usual geographic radius and drove into Park Ridge. My espresso loving husband had the coffee shop on his list of places to go to. Unfortunately, like all other places, there is no indoor seating. They are doing a nice job allowing for "to go" ordering; arrows in one direction to order and arrows in the opposite direction to exit. Employees and customers are expected to be masked. As I recall there was a fair number of eat and drink options, including specialty drinks. None of the food items were vegetarian though I'm sure you can order any of the breakfast sandwiches without meat. The specialty drink I ordered was a hemp-cin- latte made with hemp milk and cinnamon- it was very good. There is an up charge for non-dairy milks. My husband ordered his usual espresso and while it was very good (they use Dark Matter coffee) the barista misunderstood his order and gave him a double (4 shots) which resulted in an unexpected extra cost. The other problem is that it was made before my latte, we expect and prefer my latte being made first so that his small espresso doesn't get cold while waiting for my larger latte to be made. Otherwise we were pleased with the flavor of each drink, The ambiance would be helped by the employees being nicer/friendlier. The decor is quite nice and they have a large board game collection. I imagine this is a great place to hang when open to the public.

Cute place! Extremely friendly staff and excellent coffee! I think it was the best latte I had in the last 2 years! Atmosphere is pleasant and if you're hungry you can order food from the restaurant next to it. It seems they all work together! Anyway 10/10!

Really nice place! They have good coffee- I had the lavilla which is their specialty latte. They had great snacks and a great selection of boards games. We had snacks and played games for almost 2 hours but I could spend all day there. Lots of space and we had no trouble finding a table. The staff was super friendly and helpful- all their board games come with a video of how to play which was so much better than reading the instructions. We will be coming back!

I stopped by this place on a whim this weekend. Interior looked cute, board games available, great space for groups, and menu is creative. I got myself a lavender-vanilla latte - $5. I've had my fair share of lavender latte, it's my go-to, and I have to say this might be the worst latte yet. It tasted like a mixture of mold (!) and smelled like cockroach (!!)...not sure if it is because I came when they were just about to close. I added more vanilla oat milk when I got home and the odd taste/smell is still there. I could not finish this drink I almost considered coming back with friends to enjoy drinks and some board games, but not anymore.

My boyfriend and I went to grab coffee here for his birthday before the events we had planned for the day, and it was the best time! The food was delicious, the coffee was amazing and we played one of the many board games they had to offer. I def recommend!

A wonderful add to the neighborhood. Great place to hangout no matter if you want coffee or cocktails, you've got it all. Warm atmosphere and the Staff is very friendly. They've got quiet a selection of board games, and yes I should definitely mention ...The Mario kart. The have a great wine list and other cocktails, I am not a coffee drinker so can't comment on that. Good for groups or even if you want to have some lone time to sit down, take a sip and work on your stuff. You can experience both at one place. For those who are familiar with Beer on the Wall, now their sister's in town. I've been here twice to hangout with friends, really enjoyed the time spent here and Ofcourse not to mention the drinks as well. The other good news is, Unlike On the Wall off the Wall cafe now serves food as well. Most recommend !!!

Love Off the Wall, the drip coffee is great, the cold brew is exceptional, and my wife loves the various lattes they serve. It's awesome no longer having to fall back on the burnt, flavorless coffee served at national chains

I've been wanting to come one here for a long time now, but never made my way down here. I got a gift card for Christmas so I had no other choice but to come check it out. Such a cute and cozy place to have a cup of coffee and relax. Its quite big for a coffee shop! They have plenty of board games to keep you and the kiddos entertained and they also have trivia night on Wednesday's! I had a latte with hemp milk and was super surprised to have received it in a glass mug and not a paper cup!! I was bummed that they only had 2 pastries left on the counter....would have loved to try something. Maybe next time!?

Very fun place for a coffee- they have standard as well as adventurous drink options to choose from. They have an assortment of games to play with your coffee date, as well as big tables to work from! Right next door is a similarly cute place for alcoholic drinks to stop by before or after! I would definitely be back, and would order the cinnamon latte again!

The number of people doing loud zoom calls in this coffee shop minimizes the great coffee etc. I can't believe how many rude people exist. I get working in a coffee shop but keep your business to yourself. I'd be so ticked if I was the guy on the other end of the call I just heard. The guy yelling trying to make a biz deal.... Slimy guy... these people need to get back to the office and stop bs'ing people in coffee shops. Therapists.... Ethnics?! Don't discuss clients in a coffee shop! Please allow people to work but keep the conference meetings out!

Great atmosphere. Lots of space for board games, etc. They share a space with the bar. My tea was custom bagged when I ordered it. I also had an egg mcmuffin sandwich -- literally bacon, sausage, reheated scrambled eggs on an english muffin. It was fine. I wouldn't make a special trip back for it.

Delicious dark matter coffee and unique speciality drinks. By far the best in the area for their quality the flavor combinations. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's rotating speciality drinks that are not posted online. Lately "Squirrel Power" (variety of pistachio and other nut milks) has been a go-to and in the past the "Cardi Black" (cardamon dark mocha) was my fav. Perfect spot to grab a quick cup or hang to catch up with friends.

Best coffee in town. Period. Baked goods are brought in daily and they are excellent as well. They serve Dark Matter coffee and stock bags of the whole bean if you want to bring some home. The coffee is amazing and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Worst food (?) Of my life. It looked like orange dogfood. It tasted like spicey creamed moosh. Hopefully they will get their act together. Smiling from behind the counter makes you look foolish. Good luck.

Great for private events! I rented the space on a Friday night for my wife's birthday and it worked out great. It was easy to communicate with the managers during the planning and they were also very flexible. The servers ensured we all got our drinks quickly on the event day and were very helpful overall. I highly recommend Off The Wall for any event.

Fantastic coffee, plenty of seating inside and out, and a friendly staff set this place apart. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to get their day started right!

This place sucks. Layout sucks. You walk up two stairs and literally the ordering area is at the top of the stairs. Terrible design. Bathrooms are literally just facing the seating area so everyone sees you come in/out and into them. Service is meh. They're "nice" I guess, but have no clue of what they're doing. The guy had no clue. He literally took cold brew from one plastic glass and put it into another one that he had put ice in. So, basically he put day or two day old cold brew from an old batch and served it...and trust me, you could tell. I actually dry heaved when I took a sip. They can't make anything really. It's like coffee and espresso with different milks. How can you be a "cafe" and not have cold foam? I honestly don't know how park ridge people go into this place. It's like the cafe that people go to if they are too intimidated to go to Starbucks. So, after I left here wasting $17 on thrown away drinks I had to go to another place that never misses...see pic...

First time in Chicago. This place is AWESOME! Will return every time I come back. Coffee is fantastic, incredible bar and beer selection - little too heavy in the IPA side ;) - real good food too! Great place to get work done Hang with friends 10/10

Great experience! Your always greeted with a smile. I love this company. Good hot coffee, friendly service. They have so many great coffees. I tried to try all the new ones. Such a good choice if you're trying to watch your sugars and calories. I always love the interactions. Staff is incredible. Love this location! I have to say each time I get something the staff recommends it's always amazing! Thanks for all the coffee recommendations and nice attitudes. Will always come to this location for all my coffee needs! It doesn't matter what kind of day your having, you'll leave with a smile!
