OG Smash Burger

Google
Got here and it was very quiet. Staff was helpful when ordering. Got a double smashed burger and pattymelt. The smash burger was pretty good. The combo was priced pretty high. The sauce was pretty damn good. The patty melt was super buttery. Also seems like the patties are cooked on mustard like in & out. They have some seating out front and it has a chill vibe. Almost made it seemed like I wasn't in California. Try it out!

Google
My uncle from Oklahoma sent me a challenge to my best burger in the valley video. OG Smash Burger according to him, was one that I should have considered. To his point, the burger was definitely delicious. But, here’s the thing, when I review a restaurant, service and order accuracy are as important as the food itself. I ordered a double chili cheese burger. And man was I looking forward to tasting their chili. What I received was a double cheeseburger. Heartbroken as I was, I did not ask them to correct my order. They had three opportunities to get my order right, at the time I ordered it, when they prepped it and finally by checking it before giving me my burger. They failed. But, I will say that the flavor profile of my burger was amazing. If they had just a bit more attention to detail, this burger experience could have competed for top honors. Will I go back? Without question…yes!

Denni W.

Google
They have a tasty meat, especially with the crunchy edge. However it’s pretty thin & we have to go to triple to get adequate amount of meat. Burger size is pretty small compared to other smash burger joints in the area

John K.

Google
The OG Smashburger nailed it. I had the double with jalapenos, and the way they grill the onions right into the burger is perfect. Crispy edges exactly how a real Smashburger should be. The special sauce pulls it all together. Flavor, texture, heat. Absolutely killer. I’ll be back.

Google
The burger was good. Crispy edges like a smash burger should have, but $12.47 was a bit high for what one gets. I asked for a bit different preparation, but they got my request wrong. (No big deal) No inside and no bathrooms. Seating out front. I had no issues with parking, but it was all street parking, no dedicated lot. The help was friendly. I probably will go back. One thing that seemed a little underhanded was, the menue RIGHT in front is NOT what I was charged. $.48 more for each burger is not much, but I didn't even order it with cheese. Should be less! It's about the principle. Not good business.

Google
Great smashburger in Burbank. Service was very friendly and the burger and chili were really great, just hits the spot when you're in the mood for a smashburger. It's a curbside place with a few tables by the curb, which is where I ate. Would go back the next time I'm in the area.

Jeff K.

Google
This is the 5th time I've eaten here. Every time it's been on point and better than other places I've gone to get a burger. You can tell all of the ingredients they use are super fresh. Everything on it stands out from the bun to the onions, pickles, sauce and the paddy all come together to taste like a perfect burger. Tanya the cashier was very friendly and made sure to ask if there were any special requests I had for my order. The only thing I changed is I got fresh onion instead of grilled yet I'm sure the grilled are great too. Also they nail the fries and the sodas have the right ratio of syrup to carbonation, which is exactly what you need to go with a burger and fries. I don't normally get soda but I do when I'm there. You can grab a seat out front under an umbrella. I go out of my way now to come here because when I have a craving I'm going to be let down if I go somewhere else.

Google
Ordered take out, we got the double cheeseburgers and fries which were very tasty and juicy. Grilled onions to perfection! Fries were slightly salty but not unbearable. Would recommend and visit again!

Yelp
If I could give it no stars, I would. Ordered from Uber eats to support smaller and newer businesses only to be disappointed with raw burger patties and green french fries (natural toxin solanine). I ordered sides not poison. I called to advise them of the mishaps, and my safety concerns for the food that theyre serving (didn't even ask for a refund), just wanted to bring it to thier attention... only to get a condescending attitude and get caught off when trying to explaining the issue... thanks for hanging up on me, Shant... your cashier was WAY more professional than you in handling this situation. Mark my words, OG Smash Burger will have a quick and rapid demise. Not only does your food suck, so does your customer service. (Nothing false about what the food you served us, pics and video prove it). Plus, the response you give to all your negative reviews speaks VOLUMES about your costumer service.

Yelp
At a quick glance, I honestly have to stop myself from reading their signage as Orgasm Burger! Now it's stuck in my head and I'll always see it through that dyslexic lens. I was coming to this place long ago when it was another restaurant and I worked around the corner, so it's nice to see something using this incredibly limited space to serve something excellent. Pleasant staff, the menu is a perfect selection for an establishment this small, the food is quality and tasty. Smash Burgers are all the rage right now, so hopefully they find their core crowd and able to survive the eventual thinning of the smash herd. Support as many small businesses as you're able nowadays!
google avatar

Marjan N.

Yelp
I've had many smash burgers.... but the OG stands out! Crispy patty edges unlike any smash burger out there. The beef flavor comes through splendidly. The bun is soft and melts into the patty as easily as the cheese. Balance of flavors is achieved with the acidity of the pickles against the OG sauce, cheese and patty. The fries were crispy with enough salt/seasoning to make these fries yummmm. Tanya was super nice and gave me a little history about the OG smash burger which made my meal more meaningful. Friendly service, delicious burger and fries makes this my favorite smash burger so far.

Yelp
In town for work, and was looking for a burger near my hotel. I eat mostly Carnivore so it's just easy getting a bunch of burger patties. I ordered 6 patties with cheese. Super easy. Each patty had nice crispy edges and melted cheese. I sat outside, and service was great!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
I went after seeing a foodie blog on this place. I was a longtime visitor to Pecos Bills back in the day. I had the Patty Melt and a cup of Chili. The Patty melt was awesome! Everything I love about a good Patty melt was here, the burger was great, cheese, you have a choice, and the grilled onions were perfect. The Chili was very good. I am extremely picky about Chili, and while not the best I have had definitely worth getting. I will be back to try other things on the menu. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Off the beaten path, or at least MY beaten path, I haven't been on this piece of real estate in at LEAST 25 years! They've really created a nice little space with about 4 sidewalk picnic tables for dine in (no indoor seating, and only a walk-up window for order and pick-up). On this 94 degree Burbank day, I opted for a pick-up, but I would eat on site on a more forgiving day. Online ordering was super easy and my food was ready as promised. The woman behind the window was quite lovely and made sure I had everything I needed before I took off. We got burgers and added (super hot) fresh jalapeños, and chili (really added to the burgers!), and we both loved them! We were both in agreement that we'd return again before we were half way done! A great smash burger in Glendale/Burbank.

Yelp
Came here for a late night meal! Very pleasant experience. You can't miss OG Smash Burger due to its bright yellow look - it feels like it attracts all the hungry people over Easy street parking and some folks just park in front Food is so good, can't go wrong with their smash burgers and fries We ate there since there was outdoor seating (bright yellow tables and chairs) Would definitely go again!

David J.

Yelp
There smash burgers are amazing best in town Great employees and the service on point

Mary K.

Yelp
Super delicious and perfectly seasoned, crispy edges, and soft perfect bun. This is exactly what a smash burger should be. Staff was friendly. I will definitely be back for more. If you're craving a real smash burger done right, this spot is 100% worth it.

Yelp
Preface: To 5 smash burger joints I'm comparing to based on Peacock's "Call Bullshit" offer on June 7th for Emmy nominated Poker Face. So this review is solely on a two bite comparison. 2nd best burger of the day! I'd go back. Crispy edges and a nice fluffy bun that doesn't take away from the burger patty.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
My new favorite smashburger in Los Angeles but I wish their smashburger was bigger because it was so good! I loved the crispy lacing around the burger which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Probably my favorite smashburger! I loved how there were pickles all throughout the burger to cut the greasiness and the perfectly melty cheese. The quality of the patty and meat was also better than other places. Their fries are also very similar to the Win-Dow but seasoned which was good. I'm sad I forgot to take a picture of the burger!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
I think we've found a new pitstop here in Glendale- OG Smash offered our family great food and great service. Opted for the double smash, but also ordered a grilled cheese, two additional singles, and fries. We will definitely be back to try a pb & j! The burgers may seem small to some, but maybe see them as an opportunity to slow things down a few minutes. Or just order one or two more burgers. In short, if you're close by, don't pass, smash!
google avatar

Daniel W.

Yelp
definitely one of the best chili cheeseburgers I've ever had. I got a little too excited and finished the entire burger before I had a chance to take a photo ha ha. I will definitely be back. Small burger shack with limited outdoor seating. Good service and fresh food
google avatar

Sherli B.

Yelp
Food and service were both excellent, everyone left happy and have been talking about the burgers they had since! Can't wait to go back
google avatar

Yelp
I am always on the look out for amazing comfort food, AKA, an amazing burger. I've grown very found of smash burgers over the years when I use to dog on them. For the Win, Win-Dow, Heavy Handed, all great. But THIS was a 10/10 and I would come back anytime. The only way to describe it is "perfection." Friendly staff and service. The setting is simple seating outside off the side walk but had no issue getting a table. I'd go at 12pm to avoid a rush. Coming back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
I've eaten here twice. Once I tried the smash burger and this time I got the patty melt. It was really filling and was seasoned well. I should have ordered jalapeños because I did think it needed a kick. I love their fries. They have friendly service and keep their tables clean and tidy.
google avatar

Yelp
This burger shop is so adorable, in eye catching red and yellow (ketchup and mustard) colors. It really stands out on the street. When I passed by last time I remembered having read very positive reviews on their food in the past. I had errands to do but decided to grab something to enjoy for dinner later on. The patty melt jumped out at me since I generally love that sandwich. I prefer regular bread to hamburger buns as well. This time that was all I ordered since the fries would get cold by the time I ate them. The patty melt is a very ample size. Service was very friendly and efficient. I love that their story is on the inside of the box. So I said I was going to eat it in a couple of hours for dinner. But when I popped open the box to take a look, it smelled so good that I had to pull over and eat half of the melt on the spot. So glad I did because that fresh perfectly hot bite was remarkable. It is a perfect patty melt and the best I've had in town. The meat is expertly prepared, bread was not soggy and the toppings were just right. I am a slow eater and it stayed warm for quite a bit of time. I am going back to try more very soon. In addition to smash burgers, they have grilled PB & J sandwiches too.

Yelp
Drove 45 minutes for this and it did not disappoint. Might literally be one of the best if not the best chili cheeseburger i ever had. Edges of the burger are crisped to perfection. The perfect amount of chili. Not too much not too little. The whole burger is just perfectly balanced. It was amazing !!! Will drive again ... unbelievable food. Amazing service
google avatar

Raymond S.

Yelp
First. Way overpriced!! I could get 3 in-n-out burgers for the price of one of these. The burgers were nothing special and were just so so. Won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Located on Victory Blvd on the outskirts of Glendale, the shop is small and unassuming, other than their large sign and clean order window. There is some street parking along Victory and a few tables for outdoor seating, but when it's busy, expect to eat in your car or on the bed of your truck. The place can get pretty busy with just a normal flow of customers just due to the size, expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes even when it doesn't look too busy. If you're in a rush, it might not be the place for you but if you have some time to spare, it's worth it. OG is overall a delicious smash burger. It's a classic smash, just onions, pickles, and sauce. Their burgers are smashed correctly, achieving a great crispy edge while having a great and balanced flavor that's not too salty. I believe a smash needs to have two patties to have the right ratio, and the same is true here. The single is a decently generous patty for what it is, but it's still lacking the right ratio. The fries are a very nice accompaniment, well seasoned and crunchy, nothing to write home about, but a nice accompaniment to the burger. A combo probably comes out $3-5 dollars more than comparable places. If you're in the area, though, I'd definitely give it a try; there aren't many places in all of LA that are on the level.
google avatar

Yelp
Interesting, quaint little burger spot straddling the border of Burbank and Glendale. Love the decor: bright red and yellow branding everywhere. There's no indoor seating; just a storefront and a few tables with shade out front. Parking is street. Menu is very simple. Just the smash burger, a patty melt and a PB&J for the kids and the vegans. I got the combo with the double patty. Came with a soda and a side of fries. So, as for the burger, theirs is pretty damn good. It's a bit on the smaller side, but it's a quality burger for sure. Patties were nicely crisped, flavorful and juicy. The onions were nicely caramelized and crisped. I think the best part of the burger is their OG sauce. It's not too tarty like most Thosand Island-type burger sauces, but well-balanced. Goes well with their fries, too. Speaking of the fries, they give you generous portions of the shoestring type. These were well-seasoned and crisped nicely. A good complement to a really good smash burger. I'd put OG Smash Burger in the upper tier of the smash burger spots I've been to. You should check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
My sons favorite burger joint. He loves his triple patty burger, it is always the place to go when he is hungry for a burger. We have tried a couple places and I have to say, they make one of the best smash burgers we have tried. The service is always great and the ambiance is easygoing, drive by and pick up kind of joint.

John K.

Yelp
The OG Smashburger nailed it. I had the double with jalapenos, and the way they grill the onions right into the burger is perfect. Crispy edges exactly how a real Smashburger should be. The special sauce pulls it all together. Flavor, texture, heat. Absolutely killer. I'll be back.

Yelp
The burger and chili cheese fries were insanely delicious! If you're craving an unforgettable cheeseburger experience, this spot is a must-visit--you'll be blown away!

Yelp
Food was awesome and fresh. Did not taste like a frozen patty pull out the back of a freezer. Great and quick service. You will pay for quality but completely worth it.

Yelp
Came back! Love the new combos. Brought a friend who got the party melt, she loved it too. We got burgers. They were delish! Thanks for the combo pricing! Thank you for the response too!

Yelp
Cashier was really nice. Really good smash burger! The bun is super soft. Food was cooked fresh to order so it takes a little time. There are a couple tables on the sidewalk for eating there.

Yelp
MUST TRY!!! It's very rare that I write a review... HOWEVER, this OG Smash burger was fantastic!!! I got the Double Combo and the smash burger was prepared perfectly with just the right amount of sauce and the grilled onions were sweetly grilled to perfection!! The seasoned fries were amazing... crispy on the outside and tender on the inside... with the perfect amount of seasoning. Great size & proportions with a very fair price!! I had this delivered by DoorDash and it was still excellent!! I could only imagine how wonderful it must be in person!! - This OG Smash Burger is a MUST TRY!! I would not steer you wrong. I even had to call them right away and let them know how amazing it was. (Sorry there is no picture... but I ate it so fast and forgot) What are you waiting for??? Head over there now!!
google avatar

Yelp
Solid burger. Good crust. Well-seasoned. Nice soft bun. Fries skinny. Chili on the skimpy side. On the pricey side but solid for a mom and pop stop after a walk/jog along the LA River.
google avatar

Eddie C.

Yelp
Food: Single Smash Burger with grilled onions, cheese, pickles, OG sauce on an egg bun was DELICIOUS!!! Service: made-to-order service Design: bright yellow facade with a red canopy (no interior; just a walk-up window); a few outdoor patio tables Overall: if you want a really good classic smash burger in the Glendale area, then stop on by this place
google avatar

Andrea O.

Yelp
I always drive past OG Smash Burger and finally got the chance to stop by--glad I did! The service was quick and friendly, and the prices are pretty average for LA. You're sitting right by a busy road, so expect the sound of cars rushing past, but honestly, the food makes up for it (burgers are small but tasty and I shouldn't be eating anything bigger anyways). The burgers are solid, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!
google avatar

Stuart B.

Yelp
"In the heart of Glendale" (it says that on the burger packaging). I tried the double patty melt. It was super fresh, perfectly grilled bread, lots of onions and pickles, very cheesy and the beef patty was excellent. There's a walk up window and 4 tables with seating outside on the sidewalk with umbrellas. The brightly painted outside is decorated with vintage license plates The staff was cheery and pleasant. They charge 4% extra to use a credit card, which drives me crazy, just for the principle. They say cash gives you a "4% discount", but they are basically just charging 4% more for credit cards. It's all in the wording. Still, it's a cute place.

Yelp
I am a die hard IN-N-OUT lover but during my stay in Florida, I found a smash burger place (because they don't have an IN-N-OUT there) and I actually found a place out in Orlando that totally blew my mind so upon returning to California I have been searching for a smash burger place that isn't IN-N-OUT~ First off, it's a bit pricey, but to me, if is satisfies the taste buds and hits the spot then I am willing to pay whatever. First sense, I was hit with the smell and it smelt divine, pretty close to IN-N-OUT with the caramelized onion scent. Now the sight of it. It looked decent, burger looked to be on the smaller side but then again it doesn't include lettuce or tomatoes so that explains the lack of volume. Upon first bite, I was met with a lump of stringy onions, the taste of it was alright but I couldn't bite into it, ended up with a mouth full of onions, all of the onions in fact-- may I suggest doing chopped so that all the onions aren't consumed in the first bite. Buns could have used a little more roasting, they were a bit soggy. Right by the shop a Yelp review is on display talking about the perfectly crisp edges, I did experience it at the very end, the very last bite and it was pretty good, probably the best bite. The fries were very salty, the seasoning is tasty but too overpowering. And I do not suggest getting the grilled cheese, I discovered that there is such thing as too much cheese. We only finished half of it and that was due to the feeling of not wanting to waste it. Couldn't bring ourselves to touch the second half-- suggestions, less oil (bread was very oily) and easy on the cheese, like cut the amount in half. And perhaps offer chopped caramelized onions for a bit more flavor~ Would I recommend this place? Unfortunately not after this experience. Would I try it again? If suggestions are considered and changes are made, yes, definitely! But as it is now, not likely. In conclusion, this place missed the mark for me and I would much prefer IN-N-OUT-- better taste, texture, presentation and price point~

Yelp
This was the single best chili cheeseburger I have ever had in my entire life. The chili was perfect.. The hamburger was flavorful and smashed to perfection. The combination of the crunch from the burger and the chili. I just can't even explain. To be honest I think this is what Tommy's always wanted to be.
google avatar

Nohely M.

Yelp
Dropped by here after leaving a prestigious restaurant in DTLA- glad this burger spot was on the way back home! I ordered their OG double patty burger with everything and also the OG fry. The burger was made well, seasonings were right, a lot of cheese and a lot of grilled onion, for next time I will ask for less or none. Also, the OG fry comes with a single patty that sits on top of the well seasoned fries and topped with two pickles and their dressing. So good! For next time I know to order one or the other but not both because it will be a lot of food! I enjoyed my meal I was satisfied and left full. Totally recommend this little burger spot.

Yelp
Very easy to spot on the street, there isn't much else around. I liked the vibe with the vibrant colors, and it was very clean. The burger was pretty good; the special sauce was a bit too peppery for my taste and the grilled onions were hard to chew (had to do that annoying thing where you have to literally grab the onion to rip it off your teeth haha). Otherwise, I think they got the more important components of the smash burger down. The fries looked great, I definitely want to come back to try those and the patty melt next time.

Taylor J.

Yelp
Ordered a double, protein style (they don't have lettuce so its just the meat), and my husband ordered a double combo, and we got 2 bottled drinks and it was $40+ tip. Which, even as a california native is a bit steep, but the burgers were both very good. I am a very loose celiac, and I tried a bite of my husband's and the bun was very good! Though we both hated the fries, I immediately stuck my hand in the bag when we received our food (~20 ish minutes after ordering it) and grabbed one and it was hard and cold. They tasted like they had been sitting a bit, and the people behind us got their food first so they may have been. 4 stars because the burger almost completely made up for the lackluster fries; all in all I subtracted a star because for the price point everything should be on par; and the lack of substitution for the buns. A very good burger, friendly enough staff and lots of drink options!

Yelp
Double Oklahoma Smashburger / two patties, grilled onions, cheese, pickles, OG sauce - 5! Crispy Fries with OG Ranch + OG Sauce - 5! I found OG Smashburger by accident when I drove past their location recently. The bright yellow colors really captured my eye. I even circled the block so I could park and see it up close. What I found looked quite appealing so I decided to stop for lunch and give it a try. They are clearly inspired by Oklamhoma, both the decor and their smash burger. An Oklamahoma style smashburger is when the grilled onions are smashed into the beef patties instead of layered on top. It results in a tasty, crispy, beefy, oniony patty and OG Smash Burger really nailed their take on it. The burger was very enjoyable. The fries were crispy, salty, tasty and thin. I tried them with the dipping sauces and the flavors were a great combo to go with the burger. For a random discovery on the streets of the valley, OG Smash Burger really delivered some excellent food! Their shop is a window style counter with some outdoor patio seating. It is a small place with no parking but I had no trouble finding street parking directly in front of their shop. They must be fairly new because I drive by this area about once a month and hadn't noticed them before. The person taking orders was nice and friendly. The decor is bright and colorful with a lot of fun kitsch related to Oklahoma. I noticed they also serve a patty melt and I would love to come back and try one out. Hopefully the neighborhood takes notice and gives them some love. They have a great burger and are worth a visit!

Yelp
What can I say, the food speaks for itself! So far, I keep coming back for the double smash fries and drink combo. The taste is all the way there with this. Superb team as well. Always great service. Tanya is great! (Hope I spelled her name right!) Really dig this place. If you are in the area, or in the mood for a real good meal, make your way to OG SMASH BURGER! It's a 10/10 for me.

Yelp
Hands down best burger I've ever had. With every bite all I could think of was "I don't want this to end" The bun was toasted just right, patty was juicy and flavorful with a perfect crust. The fries were on point, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right. Highly recommend this place, I will be back, very soon!

Emily M.

Yelp
I'm really picky with my burgers, but wow this place was so good! Everyone was super nice and the service was very timely. Everyone in the family liked everything from the smash burgers to the different types of fries. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Great service and the burger hits every characteristic of a good Smash you would want. Service is friendly and fast.

Yelp
Pulled up to OG Smash burger ordered a single and yelled MUSTTTTTTAAAAAAARRRRRRDDDD!!!!! On the real shoutout Kendrick Lamar and shoutout the owner of OG Smash . Both of them have brought greatness to the city. If you're hungry at home I recommend " Hey, turn his TV off!" put your Dodger blue hat on, jump in your GNX, drive by the The Man in the Garden, pick up Gloria, pass the wacced out mural , and fill your Heart part 6 with a burger. - Sir Charles Yelpington Lamar

Yelp
So we stop by for takeout. The service was awesome. They young lady that took our order was so helpful and friendly. We got a double burger, og fries, and a patty melt. The food was great. Extra points for ketchup and mustard in the order. Im a mustard junky. Cute table set up. I definitely would recommend.

Yelp
Second time here. Ordered a double burger with cheese fries. Really good! Slightly expensive but worth it! Will be back again.

Rebecah J.

Yelp
Big fan of this spot! If you want a classic grilled cheese with nothing but perfectly toasted bread and American cheese, OG Smash Burger is the spot. I also tried their loaded fries which were delicious and addicting! I just wish the patty was cut up a little as it was hard to separate to eat with the fries. My only criticism would be the size of the burgers, my boyfriend got a single burger and it was tiny! Delicious, but expensive for how small it was. We really enjoyed everything we tried and will be back!

Yelp
Just moved in the area and decided to give this place a shot. The location has a lot of street parking and 4 tables in front so accessibility/sitting is not an issue. The customer service is great. The cashier (a very friendly girl) is quick, has a great energy and very respectful. I ordered 3 double patty, 2 regular fries and one cheese fries. Food came out in 10-15 minutes (quick) Now on to the taste. Probably one the juiciest smash burgers iv had in the area. The fries were also very well seasoned and delicious. The price was $10.99 for the double patties which is on the cheaper side and their fries are $3.99 which is also on the cheaper side. Overall il definitely be back because the food is affordable, delicious, and they have great customer service
