Oh Dessert Cafe serves up a cozy spot for delightful Asian-inspired treats like scrumptious bingsoo and mochi waffles, perfect for sharing with friends.
"The best dish at Oh Dessert Cafe in the Sunset is the mochi waffles. They’re made-to-order and arrive at the table warm and crispy. A stack of these stretchy waffles come topped with fresh fruit, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and either a side of nutella or kaya dipping sauce—though we prefer pouring both on in one go. Portions are easily shareable, so we suggest adding a slice of the ube mille crêpe cake to the table. Another reason to get more than one dessert: Oh is cash-only for orders under $25." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez
"Among the plushie animal pillows, twinkle lights, and faux vines attempting to be twee at this Sunset cafe, you’ll find fantastic, mostly Asian-influenced desserts. The menu at Oh Dessert Cafe is split between drinks, savory small plates, bingsoo, sweet toasts, thick, chewy mochi waffles, and airy cakes. Focus on the latter two. Both come in flavors like black sesame and ube as well as tea- and fruit-based versions like earl grey with blueberry or roasted banana. There’s a lot to choose from, but the pandan mochi waffles are required ordering in our book. They’re served with a side of dipping (read: pouring) kaya, cornflakes, and a bulbous scoop of vanilla ice cream. And since Oh is cash-only for orders under $25, go ahead and get that slice of ube mille crêpe, too." - Patrick Wong
