Oh Manna Fish Market

They have good fish but they cook it the way THEY want. If I ask for my food EXTRA CRISPY or FRIED HARD, then that is what I mean. They take forever to prepare the food. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to prepare any kind of seafood. That is just ridiculous. Also, this place is very popular, always busy. So if this know their clientele and what they sell daily, they should be frying fish ALL DAY. It will be fresh because they are just THAT busy. The food should not take more than 10 minutes.

Fresh seafood, great taste. Lemons, Tarter Sauce & Hot Sauce Available. They have high demand so order ahead. Average wait time is 25 minutes or more.

Bought their 8 piece chicken wings... It was not that tasty... I only ate 5 wings... Your best bet is to only buy the fish...

The shrimp doesn't have as heavy a coating as other fish places, but it has a really great taste. The fish is good. My wife and I went there twice within 6 days it was so good. The fried okra was a very disappointing hot mess. Its fried in a flour coating and inconsistent doness. If they went with the meal coating and a nice texture frying, the okra would be much improved. Service is kinda slow even if you call ahead. The lady on the phone said the food would be ready in 10 minutes. It took 20. I wasn't surprised it took 20, fish takes a while to cook. She could have just been honest on the phone. All in all, we will be going back but not for their fried okra.

This place has changed so much sense the last owners left. The food is not the same and will never be I just want y’all to listen don’t go there because they cheat you out of your food and it’s not even good anymore. I mean the last owners had the big “jumbo” shrimps that had a taste you would dream of now the shrimp you can go to smart. And final and fry it yourself. They need to do better because soon they’ll be closed sorry ! But not sorry.

I give it 4 stars. The portions are smaller from the previous owner but priced higher. The fish doesn't have alot of batter like before. And lacks some seasoning but it was made within 10-15 min when I was used to 30-40 from the last owners. I can't wait to try their new item on the menu

I ate at this location today for the first time today after reading all the great reviews. I do agree they do give you a lot of food. But I must say it was nothing like what I expected. My fish was under cooked. My fries had no seasoning. I couldn’t even make it to the second piece. Definitely not the fish I’m use to eating. It was overrated and I will not be returning🤮

BOMB DOT COM ! I seriously thought this place was deserted & abandoned cuz there's no clear stand out signage plus lots of graffiti. But yes they're open ! Don't know about the hours.. One cashier very professional. Don't remember if it's cash only. Parking sucks boooty ! One fried shrimp & one fried fish plate less than $40 And trust me when i say there's enough food for 4 meals! Fries are frozen crinkle cut & slaw too much mayo. But the breaded coating has so much salty flavorful flavor & the fish/ shrimp still isn't dry. Will absolutely most definitely return !

Hidden Gem Alert: Oh Mana Oh Mana is a small, underrated stand that's a true hidden gem! Despite its size, and its appearance the food here is absolutely amazing. The service is above average due to its busyness, but let's talk flavors it is so amazing crispy and savory I am truly obsessed. I had a fantastic experience at Oh Mana - everything was exceptional, especially their hush puppies and shrimp. Bang for your buck! The food was delicious overall. You get a lot of food for the value. Only thing was the shrimp wasn't peeled enough but the fish fries & hushpuppies were awesome! The fish was cooked perfectly, crispy meaty tender inside. We order 2 catfish dinner plates & a 20 piece shrimp for $58.00 There was 9 pieces of fish & 4 or 5 hushpuppies each box! We have plenty extra fish left for some yummy sandwiches tomorrow! CONS- sketch location needs better lighting at night. I would have never known it was there if I didn't Google for it.

They don't use the loiusiana batter anymore. I asked for my fish to fried well done/crispy and it was moist and soft with no seasoning. The fish, fries, or shrimp didn't have any seasoning. The reason people go to Oh Manna's is for the flavor. The flavor is no longer there as of today 11/03/23.

A very low-key spot to get a great amount of fried fish. I can recommend the catfish as it was thick and crispy

LITERALLY FUCKING TERRIBLE. they don't clean the shrimp properly or cook the food all the way and wouldn't let me get my refund

I ordered the shrimp and fish combo with a side of macaroni salad, fries with extra seasoning salt and fried broccoli. I give this place 3 stars. The broccoli was uncomfortably greasy. I'm not the most healthy person but the bottom of the container was full of thick oil. If you were to squeeze the broccoli lots of oil oozed out. However for those who don't mind the oil texture the taste was not bad. Fresh the crunch was probably there but I ordered delivery. I am a fri person ! These were ok . The hush puppies were a slam dunk but could be considered spicy. Fish was a good size. Not crispy at all nor did you get that flavorful almost salt taste. It was mid. The shrimp was not memorable with the same coating as the fish. Macaroni Salad was good! Probably should eat at the actual establishment, maybe I would have different opinion. Would I order again, no. Update: I'm did not know the establishment looked this was from Postmates. I'm disgusted !

If it wasn't for Door Dash I'd be missing out. Don't let the neighborhood fool you. This is indeed a hidden gem. I had the 5 piece red snapper. ZERO complaints. A+

Ik the spot looks a lil rough on the outside and crazy but the inside is well kept and clean some people may think it's closed but the food is amazing and you gone get it in at least 5 to 10 mins...If u not a gangbanger and not extra you will be fine don't let these other reviews fool you (Arsonn6 Yerpppp Banging )

I didn't realize they were under new management. I haven't tried the fish because the prices went up exponentially, so it wasn't worth it for me. When I called to place an order the lady I spoke with gave me a nice little lecture about inflation and the cost of everything being high. No thank you ma'am. I'm going to miss the couple who owned the place before. They were kind and the fish was amazing. I don't live in the area so only went occasionally and haven't been in awhile.

I ordered catfish and shrimp this and the fish was undercooked and made us sick . I will call them and make this complaint tomorrow we were very disappointed and they have raised their prices before last year the food was good but now I won't be ordering anymore food from there .

They changed ownership. A lot less fish for the price, just not the same since the wonderful lady owner left although the fish tastes similar. And parking is bad since they built an apt bldg in the parking lot. No drive through just walk up counter and order.

Don't let the looks fool you ... made a phone order said will be ready in 10mins got there food ready an hot I had a big order, I like that their adding to the menu since the older couple retired it moves a little/lot faster. They were nice an the new people are nice as well.... TASTY. 4 stars cause of parking there is none.... Hopefully a uplift is coming...

It's sad this place use to be popping I ordered extra hush puppies instead of fries and the sides and was only given 3 despite the not-seasoned fish you get your money's worth but I don't see them being open to much longer if they don't make some changes

Must try it if your in Los Angeles or California Best Fried Shrimp and Fried Catfish in town.. There Tartar sauce is bomb . Fried oysters amazing. Call and order ahead of time.

I was told about this fish place couple of years ago and someone told me that if you seen it, you would not stop because it's not the best looking place. It actually looks like an abandoned building. So my wife took me over to try it and she said I know you wouldn't go by yourself And I tried the food and it is amazing so when they say don't judge a book by its cover, definitely do not judge this restaurant by its cover. Great customer service great food.

Every time I go to Los Angeles I always stop by to get Fish. The best fish ever bought 2 pounds of Catfish, 1 pound of Snapper and order of fries we picked up our order. Our food was ready, we had to eat a little before we take that 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive home. It's to die for delicious .

I recently had a combo plate and it was a lot of food. I think they have a new cook because the batter wasn't the same and was fried hard. I'm hoping it was just a bad day because I hate to look for another fish spot. I'll give it another chance

Walk up fish spot. Pros: the food is fresh and you get a good mount for your money Cons: hush puppies were terrible and tasted old, maybe they were retired The catfish and shrimp did not have any flavor

I have maybe written one other yelp review in the past decade, but I felt the need to break my no-yelp streak for this joint because a single bite of that fried catfish blew me away. Before you go straight to the tartar sauce, I urge you take a sauce-less bite and experience just how well they season their catfish; and the hush puppies are just icing on the cake. It's a fried food business, but the food is so light and not greasy whatsoever. I'll certainly be coming back to try other items on the menu; and even though I've only visited Louisiana, I must say that this place would give a lot of similar restaurants over there a run for their money. Pro-tip: If you plan to take it home to eat, immediately take it out of the bag once you're in your car and leave the lid open for optimal crunchiness when you're ready to eat.

1st time here & NEVER again. Asked how long it would be, Lady with Attitude says 45 minutes..hr & 1/2 later still no fish & phone orders don't get made til you come to pick up your food, bad business, they don't respect your time & I may have come back if she didn't have the I don't give Damn attitude, Never even looked up at us..Smh not even worth the forever wait

It's in the hood. The building definitely deserves some TLC immediately. That fish though is the BOMB!!!! No other fish like it.

Few months ago I place an order over the phone which by the way took many attempts lol Once I place my orders they told me 30 minutes when arrived I waited one hour and thirty minutes ‍they didn't place my order until I arrived over heard it's what they do because they don't trust. I say what's the pint of ordering ahead just go over wait for your food if they're playing games ‍

If I could do zero stars I would, I woke up at 3 in the morning with stomach pains was back and forth to the bathroom all morning. It's 9:49 am and I just threw up the food. I'm still having stomach pains and I can tell I have to throw up again I'm just in bed with the trash can right in front waiting. Don't eat here! Not also am I sick from this but so was my 3yr old and 1yr old boys. They had terrible diarrhea. I had to throw the sheets away the smell was unbearable. My 3yr old kept telling me his stomach was hurting last night after he ate and now I see why. They had the chicken wings and fries. I had oysters and fries.

Besides the 45min wait...well it was worth the wait! The fish, shrimp, oysters were perfect! Even the potato salad is good! Go check them out and treat yourself to some good food!

I Eat here three times a month somethimes. It's worth the wait. They give you a lot. Always fresh, and always busy. You can have a combo fish and shrimp, and still have enough for dinner. I phone my order in, but sometimes they are so busy the line stay busy. Met people from L.A. to Moreno Valley. Glad I live 5 minutes away.

Great fish but the fries are a little under cook. They do not accept credit cards or debit cards but they act EBT?! What?! That is crazy! Overall the food taste great except their fries!

I don't know what I was expecting--and maybe that is the problem. The fish is good and fresh. It's coating tasted like it could have been put on fish, chicken, or a pork chop. The fries were SO fake frozen, I threw all of them away. (At least 500 calories saved, right there.) It includes a sweet dinner roll. They give a LOT of food. The service could be MUCH better. I called in my order, and had to call back after she hung up on me. Upon arrival at least 30 minutes later, I still had to wait. i then saw at least 10 meals were ready and waiting for her to package and give them to people. Two people were waiting in line before me (and yes, two of the meals were theirs.) But we had to wait at least 5 minutes for her to take a phone order then ru=ing us up, then answer another phone order, then...they need to hire a kids to help out. But I won't see the changes, because the food wasn't good enough to return.

"It always starts off as a sweet lil hood thang." Oh Manna is OMG delicious. Smack dab in the middle of South Central LA, this place is the bomb.com. I ordered the catfish and red snapper dinners for $11 each. 16 pieces with fries, hush puppies, and rolls. Now that's what I call ballin' on a budget! CASH and EBT only which was a bummer. I just grabbed the number and called my order in while I went to find an ATM. (BofA on Manchester & Broadway) Probably the best fried fish I've ever had. Sorry Mom.

The fish was good the fries were in season so I wasn't impressed with the taste but the tartar sauce was good as well.

I just recently returned to patronizing them since Covid19 pandemic, and I must say that they haven't missed a beat! To avoid a wait, I ordered ahead of time and told them what time I wanted to pick up and it was done! It was just that simple, delicious and hot. Friends asking where are they located, saying it was so good. I warned them the outside leaves a lot to be desired. However, the inside is clean. They would get 5 stars, if the would invest in the outside.

Cat fish & hush puppies!!!! Crunchy & perfect. We always order an extra order of hush puppies. Ask for the fries to be extra Crunchy because they tend to wilt with the steam if you don't open the lid slightly. 1 dinner order serves a couple for dinner & sometimes leftovers!!!
