"Whether you’re staying in an Airbnb or at one of Scottsdale’s luxe resorts, the group is going to want to spend plenty of time poolside, and in Scottsdale, pool hopping is encouraged. Even if you have a pool where you’re staying, visitors should check out one of Scottsdale’s many pool parties. Some of the best poolside drinking can be achieved at Hotel Valley Ho’s OH Pool, accessed with the purchase of a day pass on ResortPass. From March through September, the pool bar hosts live music and pours frozen cocktails, transforming into a gathering of some of the most fun people in Scottsdale." - jamiekillin

"The OH Pool is known for being a go-to daytime party spot and the cocktail menu reflects its fun atmosphere with a variety of chilled and frozen drink options with names like It’s Always Sunny Margarita and Coco-Jito. A favorite is the Frosé All Day, a festive take on typical frosé, made with Grey Goose watermelon basil vodka, watermelon syrup, lemon and of course, frosé. To really keep the party going all day, opt for the full pitcher." - Jamie Killin

Yelp
Love this hotel. It's a mid century Scottsdale classic and my favorite rooms are the poolside bungalows. If you go to the second floor above the lobby, there's a wall of historic photos featuring the hotel. You can see photos of when Zsa Zsa Gabor stayed here in the 1960s. There is also a photo of Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, who stayed here in 1957 when they were married in Scottsdale. Old Hollywood history! If you get one of the lovely ground floor poolside bungalows rooms, you can just open the sliding patio door and make your way to the pool under the fragrant orange trees and jump in. Some rooms have this crazy cool bathtub in the middle of the room and it's great fun. The hotel restaurant is amazing; the bar is happening and they make superb drinks. I love the hotel gym. It's impeccably clean. The main pool gets a bit crazy on weekends in the summer because they have weekend parties, but the smaller pool is always tranquil. Location is just amazing because you can walk from the hotel to all the most happening places in Scottsdale with the best shopping, bars and restaurants. You really don't even need a car if you love old Scottsdale and just plan to stay local. But if you do have a car during your stay, they have lots of parking. The great thing about the bungalows is also that there's no need to valet as the hotel parking lot is connected just nearby and all you have to do is roll your bags right down the outdoor hall to your room. My favorite is to rent a bike and just pedal around the old Scottsdale streets and alongside the beautiful canal. That's if I can actually bring myself to leave the hotel, because I love it so much. If you want sundries or some extra snacks, there's a small mini market (I think it's a Circle K) just down the street within walking distance as well. Such a pleasure to stay here.

Yelp
One star is generous for the patio restaurant at Valley Ho. THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. The appetizers were made with old stringy vegetables. It was sent back. The mushroom bolognese was inedible. It was revolting. My dinner partners asked for "well done." What they got was charred. This was one of the WORST restaurant meals ever. The service was amateur and inattentive.

Yelp
I came to Arizon for my company's division team meeting and was assigned here for our stay. It was a sweet 20 mins drive from the airport and was automatically greeted by some of the staff when I got out of the car. The staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful for my check in. The room set up is beautiful and I was assigned to the building all the way in the back, which I didn't mind because I figured that would be away from any of the additional noises that I may have. The only thing I didn't like was the curtains how it didn't really close all the way. I had to switch beds in the room because one of the blue lights outside snuck through the curtains and kept hitting my face. We had dinner/cocktail on the roof and it was BEAUTIFUL! Food was great, drinks were refreshing, the servers that had all sorts of hors d'oeuvres were friendly and fantastic. Beautiful scenery, tasty food, and friendly/professional staff. Other than that, everything was fine. I would recommend stopping at the restaurant there because I had their smash burger...and it was REALLY good! The sauce was delicious and presentation was there! I didn't get the chance to take a picture because I was with my new job/boss and I didn't want everyone to "wait" on me LOL.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Valley Ho. I couldn't recommend it more to my friends who are looking for a spot in Scottsdale. It's conveniently located next to Old Town, there's a lot to do and the scenery is epic. I love the layout of the hotel. Only downside could be having a lot of stairs, may not be accessible to some as it's not a completely indoor hotel. I can't complain about anything else besides that or the tiny bugs that creep in which is why I'm removing a star. I wish there was more control over this. The staff was super friendly, I spend my days at the pool, and it's really close to the nightlife scene if you're into that. Scottsdale is charming with a lot to offer and Valley Ho is reflective of that. The restaurant downstairs is yummy and they have a full bar. The pool has a DJ at certain hours during the day. Everything here is picturesque which I appreciated. I had a great time to relax and party during Memorial Day weekend. Thanks Valley Ho!

Yelp
We really enjoyed being here! We were in the Rosie room for a three day conference and the room itself is adorable. Zuzu the restaurant has a retro vibe and kind remind me of being at a classy Vegas pool side in the 70's...anyway the style of the restaurant is on point, the service was fabulous and we love the food. I saw quite a few tables of people meeting for special occasions (I was pretty jealous that I didn't get to try any of the desserts)...there's always next time. I was told the pool is pretty fun during summer time, and besides that I'm excited to go back soon.

Yelp
I came here for a spa day with a friend and we both had reservations for their Self Care Sunday package which was a 60 minute massage and one mini service of your choice (foot reflexology, facial, full body scrub). They provided complimentary valet parking, and even brought my purse up to the spa when I realized I had left it in my car. The spa itself was very nice, and after checking in we were given lockers which included large cozy robes and slip on rubber sandals. Alexa was very helpful and also helped to get my purse delivered to me from the valet staff. We were both taken back for our appointments pretty quickly. Nyah was my technician and she did an incredible job with my massage and foot reflexology. During the session, there were heated blankets, heated neck warmers and essential oil scents. I felt so relaxed and enjoyed every second of it! When my session was finished, I was given a complimentary glass of champagne and full access to their spa and pool amenities. My friend and I did enjoy a few hours by the pool and ordered from the bar outside. We ordered chips, salsa and guacamole which were delicious and also ordered drinks. I tried the Oh Spritz which was good. This spa did have a sauna, but we didn't go into it. They have a few pools and hot tubs too. I would definitely come back here for their spa services, especially the Self Care Sunday deal, since the services are discounted.

Yelp
My New Favorite Hotel! I just spent several days at the Valley Ho over the holidays and I had nothing but the most amazing time! The front desk staff was beyond exceptional (HUGE shoutout to Kyle, who was beyond helpful and provided amazing recommendations in the Scottsdale area)! Our room was incredible, which consisted of a two story suite! The kitchen was fully stocked with anything that you may possibly need (including a Nespresso machine)! My favorite part was the balconies because I especially enjoyed watching the sunrise in the morning. Our room faced Camelback Mountain, which was amazing at both dusk and dawn! I highly recommend enjoying the hotel restaurant, Zuzu. I went here both for breakfast and happy hour drinks/ food! Everything was delicious and I recommend getting the chorizo stuffed dates because they were sooo good! Additionally, I went to the spa for a Pear Spice Massage. This was nothing less than perfect just like our entire stay at the Valley Ho. The Spa was on the 2nd floor and each locker room included a sauna, which is also available to regular hotel guest between the spa's hours of operation. I highly recommend staying at the Valley Ho - you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
I think my photos speak for themselves but I figure I would drop a note. A++++ hotel all the way. Hotel, Ambiance, Customer Service, Vibes, pool, Food all EXCELLENT Third time staying here and never disappoints. I had so much fun hanging out by the pool trying different cocktails and enjoying the fantastic music and Dj (He even played TAYLOR SWIFT!) The crowd is fun, various ages, so it was a cool juxtopisition of energy that I really enjoyed and made me wanna hang out longer and spend more money on food and drinks. I actally was going to stay an additional night but Delta didnt have appropriate flight times. ZUZU restaurant is fantastic. The SHRIMP tacos are only 18 usd and SO Delicious. Hotel smells like heaven. KYLE MAEGAN MADDIE Entire POOL Team THANK YOU SO MUCH for your POSITIVE AND FRIENDLY VIBES! Los Angeles is such a sh*t hole with customer service nowadays that this was so inspiring and gives me hope in the hospitality industry.

Yelp
Amazing hotel with a retro look. Way cool vibe. Always enjoy hanging out here during several staycations. Every staff member is polite and mannerly. Except the bartender Kody. What a phony person with terrible character. Overheard him talking to different people at different times on Friday, May 23 @ 7pm making fun of people living in Glendale and the entire Westside of Phoenix calling them low class and trashy. He continued that he had a date that asked if wanted to meet at Westgate... he responded, "I'm not going to some ghetto place in the 'hood." Such a pompous ass... he's a bartender. One can be a loser at everything in life and still get into bartending and real estate. Kody has yet to figure out that one must treat everyone with dignity, honor, and respect. Which might explain why this bald 45 year old is still single.

Yelp
We were in Scottsdale for the wedding of some very good friends of ours. They were holding their ceremony and reception at the Valley Ho. I was absolutely floored when we arrived. Ring-a-ding-ding, I felt like a member of the Rat Pack. Upon entering the lobby, we were hit with this Mid Century décor. I half expected to see either Dean Martin or Austin Powers waiting to greet us. There is a rich history of the hotel that can be seen in the various framed old postcards, brochures, and souvenirs on the second floor. You are surrounded by the history of this hotel, and yet it does not feel old. From the time we arrived early to getting to our room, the service was impeccable. Because we were early, our room was not ready. But this was not a problem as the clerk immediately checked us in, told us not to worry about our luggage as it would be brought up to us later and for us to go and relax and have a drink, which we did. We had a lovely room with a great view. Again, although you could feel the history of the place, there were a lot of modern amenities to remind you that you are in 2023. I was particularly giggly about the tub with the mood lighting (yeah baby!). There was the standard dresser, desk, and Eames style furniture. There was a mini bar and snack space if you are into that. We also had our own balcony overlooking the pool area, which was nice. I loved the landscape around the pool and the hotel...very tropical but not crazy. The thing I kept forgetting was that all of this greenery was not native to the area, but it sure felt like it. Bravo to whoever is maintaining that landscaping. We didn't do the pool (not a fan of getting in water with a lot of people I don't know), it was equipped with a bar and sitting areas with lounge chairs and some shading if you are during the day. Scottsdale is definitely not on my list of vacation designations, other than to see some great friends who live in town. But man I am thinking I need to come back here just to stay at this hotel and do nothing but drink bubbles.

Yelp
The Hotel Valley Ho is just wonderful. There is nothing not to like. It was built in Downtown Scottsdale in 1956 and has been totally restored. Our room , as all rooms had a private balcony--I think some have patios. The room was super clean and really pretty. We loved the bathroom and our beds were very comfortable. They have a great pool and we spent some time in there. We loved it. They also have a spa where you can get several different treatments. We had massages and then took a nap--the AC works well--it is hot there right now. The restaurant in the hotel is really good and we had dinner there and again, took a nap. We were very happy. The service is great, especially the maid service. Whatever we needed she got for us. They all were so nice. We will be back.

Yelp
I always love coming to Valley Ho! The vibe is always so fun and gives you that back in time feel! This time I was just dropping by the pool area to visit friends from out of town staying at Valley Ho!! We met up for a refreshing drink by the pool- service and vibe is always great at the pool! It's always a Party!!

Suzie K.

Yelp
Love this place!! From the 60's type decor, to the beautiful well kept grounds, the location, the restaurant (Zuzu)....but especially the service. Everything is always top notch when we go. This lovey pet friendly hotel is located right next to old town so the location is perfect. So much grass for the pets which is great in summer because you can't walk your dogs on the concrete unless they have boots on. We usually request a room that opens up to the grassy area which is just nice to lounge on but easy for the pup as well. We always try to attend cocktail hour at Zuzu, the restaurant on site, because they have the best steak tartare!!!! It's so delicious! The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I've got to say if this place can please can 85 yr old Mother, then it's got to be good !

Yelp
The team working the Valley Ho is so friendly and welcoming. Kyle at the front desk went above and beyond expectations, and made sure our first experience at the Valley Ho was absolutely top tier. The stay was comfortable & luxurious, the pool was enjoyable, and the food & service were excellent at the Zuzu. Will be coming back without a doubt. Very impressed in every way.

Valerie K.

Yelp
I've never stayed here before...and wow was I blown away!! It's such a cool hotel with a 60's vibe AND the staff are pure sunshine !! They made this stay even better!! Our room had a beautiful porcelain bathtub in the middle of the room AND a huge patio with a table and cute 2 person lay out couch! I went for my birthday weekend (3 nights) a few weeks ago and we loved it so much that we stayed an extra day! This is my one of my most favorite resorts in Scottsdale now!!

Barbara L. A.

Yelp
Busy weekend for us: after hubby's birthday party on Friday we had a wonderful!!! time at the pool, and lucky us our friend had rented a cabana for the day :) Everyone we met - from Seth at the entrance to Justine bringing our drinks to the restaurant staff - I apologize for not remembering the name of the so nice lady who brought us our food and drinks at brunch. You have to try the Southern Skies cocktail if you love Rye Whisky, great flavor and is refreshing to drink; she helped make our brunch in the restaurant even better. Speaking of food: my buttermilk pancakes, with a hint of grey sea salt, were fluffy and delicious. I was tempted by several dishes, the Fried Rice bowl looked amazing, but everything had chilis or bell peppers :( I should've snapped a photo of our food, but as always was too busy enjoying my pancakes.... The pool water was a bit warm for me, colder would have been even better, but I had so much fun chatting with others milling about in or around the pool. Valley Ho has a great party atmosphere without being overly 'partied', there is music all day but it's not extremely loud like some places. There is another pool on the other side of the rooms in a lovely green peaceful setting, that is a longer, rectangular pool, best for people chilling and swimming lengths. Not sure if it's an Olympic-sized pool. I met a wonderful group of people hanging out at the 'party' pool; I even acquired a really lovely big fan, to stave the heat away, from our cabana neighbors: I asked where they got the fans and they said there had been a promotion earlier with giveaways before we all arrived; we did get the free beer from the Corona promotion people that were walking along the pool with samples. We visited with their group for a bit and one of them even brought over some wine to share :)) Thank you, Mark. The daybeds were very comfy as you can see in the photos, but ..I have to say the headrest fabric is soooo hot; I wish they had been in the same terry cloth as the beds. I still give the full 5because this Hotel deserves them; I didn't go see our friend's room so can't comment on that this time. The restaurant, Zuzu, has really good food; the brunch was great, but even better was the pasta with squid ink: effing fantastic: pasta al dente Yay and the sauce was delicate but perfect with the pasta! The bowl of brussel sprouts was so tempting, but had chilies so it wasn't for me but they smelled and looked so yummy. I was too concentrated on my plate I didn't notice what my friends were eating and didn't take any pix. We will absolutelt go back and I have to compliment the Chef and his staff: the food is fantastic - a tad pricey, but worth it - and I was thrilled to see the squid ink pasta :) We all will most definitely go back! I'm still thinking of my pasta and would happily have it again today if it wasn't a Monday and work. Thank you for our great pool day!

Kimi W.

Yelp
We had the BEST time staying at Hotel Valley Ho! From the moment we arrived, the vibe was amazing. Huge shoutout to Kyle and Lucas at the front desk! They were so friendly and helpful, and Kyle shared great info about the hotel's history. The mid-century modern style is absolutely fabulous, with every detail feeling retro, chic, and effortlessly cool. Being there was an experience in itself! We can't wait to go back!

Emmy D.

Yelp
Very interesting and informative discussion about my vacation there. I knew Scottsdale was a great place but I didn't realize all the activities that Old Towne has! I definitely recommend going there .

Stacey P.

Yelp
I stayed a couple nights at the Hotel Valley Ho based on several reviews and the notation they had excellent bathtubs. I was in town for a little over a week and due to the circumstances stayed at three different hotels. Hotel Valley Ho was the last one. I hate to say it but I think my expectations were set based on the reviews I read. I imagined this retro, charming hotel that would just wow me. And in some ways it did! The service was spectacular. Every employee was just so nice. The hotel lobby is very cool. It has this fun vibe. But I place a lot of value on a room and this room was not it. I stayed in the tower and was surprised by a few things. I was pleasantly surprised how mammoth of a room it was. It was comically large with a lot of empty space. On either side of the bed was this low wood shelf of sorts with two empty holes at the very end. I imagined that there must have been vases in these voids at one time or something. All I was left with was holes. The carpet was rough. I understand the aesthetics being achieved but couldn't it be a tad bit more comfortable? There was no place to easily plug in my phone near the bed, something I apparently took for granted at every other hotel room. With all this space I expected to see some dressers or somewhere to store stuff. There was a narrow closet and a credenza that had a fridge. The bathroom was interesting. The tub indeed was very deep and I can see why it has been noted. The shower was nice. The blue light was different. I don't know what was up with that. The balcony was nice. I would sit out there and watch the sun rise. It was pleasant enough stay but for the price point I expected to be blown away and I just wasn't.

Marci P.

Yelp
Attended a work event here over multiple days. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the food was good for event food. Love the vibe of the place, the pools, and that there are many places within walking distance. This place leaves an impression and makes me want to go back with my family!

Zakiya M.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting. Do not waste your time or money. Someone urinated on one of the pool beds, luckily I was warned before I laid on it. It was not cleaned the entire time that I was there, without even a sign warning people. Anyone could've accidently laid on it, if they weren't warned. There was hardly any shade by the oasis pool (which was the furthest thing from an oasis). Intoxicated people were on their balcony's being obnoxious right by the spa pool. There was a huge party at the hotel pool that you could hear at the spa, and the hotel was rampant with drunks. The dressing room for the spa was so tiny, it could barely fit 4 people changing at once. Far from a relaxing experience and surely not worth the $260 that I spent. The worst spa I've been to in Arizona. The only positive thing I will say is the staff was great and my massage by Ezekiel was amazing. But the spa itself was trashy and not worth the money. Horrible experience.

Yelp
Visited Hotel Valley Ho for their Sip + Shop Summer Series. It's an indoor local market with Noble Bread, Wren House, and other local vendors. There's always a celebrity chef too, today's was Robert Irvine. I paid the extra $ to try ZuZu's dessert and food and will be back to dine there, enjoyed everything they had. It's in their event space called Sands, staff will guide you. Definitely not large enough for the event, it was packed. A little history from their website, "Originally opened on December 20, 1956, Hotel Valley Ho stands as a mid-century modern icon... costs totaled $1.5 million, equivalent to $12 million today." I love how they preserved and celebrated its mid-century roots to this day. I hope to make it to their Tiki Oasis one day, which is a signature event hosted here annually.

Mike R.

Yelp
Very cool vibe! Our room was very clean, well appointed and the service is excellent. I was the VIP of the day and got upgraded room with huge patio including table and day bed.

Carmen L.

Yelp
Awesome adult fun on the weekend especially with the awesome DJ and music. Great vibe great serve and the restaurant was so good!!! Such a great girls weekend getaway

Jaslean A.

Yelp
We had a brunch and spa day which was fabulous! Our waitress was very sweet. The spa was wonderful- we had a massage + facial Package and I added on the hair oil mask treatment which was so worth it! Rhylan and Christine both did a wonderful job on my treatments!! I highly recommend them. Today was the perfect day!

Beth S.

Yelp
The restaurant on the property, ZUZU, is a MUST when in Scottsdale. From The atmosphere with live music, to our FABULOUS SERVER, CRU, to the INCREDIBLE food. Every thing was a beyond 10/10!!

Ieasha C.

Yelp
I really love this place. It is right next to Old Town and the staff is amazing! The atmosphere is tropical and filled with luxury!

Natalie B.

Yelp
Hotel Valley Ho is an absolute amazing hotel! From the great service, to the fabulous spa, to the restaurant, to the pool and poolside service and the overall mid-century modern + southwest vibe - LOVED IT. great location- walkable to old town Scottsdale. They made a personalized birthday cake for my sister's 30th bday and delivered it to our room as a surprise for her. I would go back to Scottsdale just for this hotel.

Jessica R.

Yelp
The front desk service is awesome. Super friendly, accommodating, and all around great group! The room was super fun and I loved the bathtub with little amenities such as a bath salts and a scrubber. The bed was decent, it could use a little softer mattress but I know when it comes to beds it's a personal preference. Areas I'd say could use a little attention- the bar/lounge was understaffed. Some misters along the grounds pathways would be awesome when going to and from the room; mine was on the other side of the main lobby and walking in the heat to and from was a drag (but I get it- we're in Az). Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

Annette B.

Yelp
Such a stunning time capsule of a hotel! Everything here is so cute and kitschy! I love the old Hollywood connections here. The staff here are super accommodating and friendly. The whole place is an architectural gem and easy to navigate. They also have a pretty awesome boutique close to the check-in desk as well as a tour!

Shannon M.

Yelp
NEver disappoints! Love the new room renovations -lighter and brighter! Winter is a great time to visit for a nice romantic getaway. One note- wish the bar service was more attentive.

Enna J.

Yelp
Pros: EVERY staff member was friendly and courteous beautifully landscaped restaurant on site the bed super comfy walking distance to restaurants, shops and hiking spa on site 2 pools really nice fitness center (including Peleton bikes) Cons: the free wi-fi is shotty but you can pay for the premium

Latifah A.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our time here. We only stayed one night but were pleasantly surprised by our experience and were sad we weren't spending more time here. I love the retro decor throughout the hotel. I stayed I a newly renovated room and it was adorable! The pool area is a scene and a lot of fun. Drinks at the pool are delicious as well. I love that the hotel offers golf carts to Old Town. The staff were all so friendly. Ivan at the valley was especially kind, helpful, and informative. . JD was an awesome golf cart driver and gave great recommendations. Alex at the pool was AWESOME, so hardworking, but most of all so friendly and sweet.

Nicole L.

Yelp
I didn't want to like the Valley Ho as much as I did - I am not a "party scene girl" who wants to show off in a bikini at the pool, but the mod decorations, the immaculate rooms with blue light bath tubs, the attentive service, and the food and bar selections really make the price point worth it. They really have created their own little world, a little transportation back in time if you will, and I have never had any issues while staying at this resort.

Brenae L.

Yelp
Though I stayed at Hotel Valley Ho for work, I'd happily come back on a personal trip. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the property is gorgeous and the staff just continually goes above and beyond. There are two pools on the property, one has a bar and is closer to the restaurant while the other has more of a spa/relaxation vibe. The gym is a nice size with a few Peloton bikes, cardio machines and a nice variety of weights. The bar itself is a perfect size. I never had an issue getting a seat or getting the bartenders attention but it was never empty if you wanted to hang out and watch the game or work for a bit around people.

Savhana G.

Yelp
This place is awesome. It is so unique and cute. Had a group of 6 in town and stayed here. Also used the meeting room for a couple of days. The service was great and food was delicious. Very affordable rooms and great big bath tubs! I've also stopped in to grab dinner at the bar and use the pool in the summer. This place is a gem.

Jocelyn R.

Yelp
Last time I went to Scottsdale with family in March, we had a less than stellar experience at another facility, so when I was asked to plan my niece's wedding shower/bachelorette party weekend (she lives near Scottsdale so that was the easy destination decision), I had a lot of anxiety about picking the right place! I needn't have worried - Hotel Valley Ho had us covered and then some! From Jay and Michele who handled all my long-distance OCD questions more than capably leading up to arrival, to Kyle at the front desk, Kelli at the pool, Armond at breakfast, and all of the masseuses (but especially Rebecca who gave me one of my top five massages of all time!) literally EVERYONE was wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. Our rooms were clean and well-appointed, brunch at ZuZu was terrific (check out that breakfast fried rice!), spa services were a hit with everybody and our day at the pool made me feel (ok, temporarily!) young again. I can't wait to come back again sometime soon!

Rose S.

Yelp
Thanksgiving pre-cooked meal from Valley Ho Scottsdale!((LOVE)) OMG!!!! It was Gorgeously prepared the taste was absolutely delicious, Devine & I cannot think of any word that would do this meal and food Justice! My entire family enjoyed the fresh moist turkey, stuffing mashers yams gourmet sides! And it was never ending. The bottles of wine were fantastic. It made for a amazing day of eating, enjoying each other's company watching football telling stories laughing eating again. It was amazing. I would spend more money than I did. It was worth every single penny and the leftovers lasted forever. I can't say enough about the chef at the restaurant and the woman that took my order was so amazing and sweet and kind and and the Bellman that helped my daughter put the food in the car to bring home was wonderful. I just cannot say enough if you want amazing food go to the valley house. I'm telling you you will not be disappointed. Thank you guys so much thanks for making our special day wonderful and the day after leftovers even better!

Margaret W.

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic! The rooms are nice and spacious with a patio or balcony. Bed is comfortable. What really blew me away was the customer service!! From the valets to the front desk, the bartenders, hostess, wait staff, maid and AC guy (we are used to having the AC very cold and really didn't get cold enough for us), all over the top friendly and went out of their way to help us. Food at ZuZu restaurant was pretty good, but fantastic customer service is not something you can buy! My husband is disabled and needed extra help, valet Zarren quickly went and got a wheelchair for him, this young man is fabulous!! I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Mishel D.

Yelp
We spent just one night here to celebrate an anniversary and I wish we could have stayed much longer. This hotel is such a treat. It's not like a chain hotel, which means every staff member here truly cares about the guests. Everyone we encountered were so pleasant. Jose checked us in and was so welcoming. Our room was ready early which was a nice surprise. We got to enjoy both pools during this stay. The grounds were all so clean and maintained. The only possible con was that the bed was too soft. I don't typically sleep well at hotels so I can't complain. Just something to keep in mind.

Yelp
Just an amazing stay at the Valley Ho. Had a gorgeous room right on the quiet pool. I was really early for check in, but Valet said you might just get a room now, go check and then we will go from there. He was right, I got a room. Helped me to my room and I got settled quickly, so I could roam the property and hit Zuzu (see that review - amazing). I spent so many hours in that tub and many hours in the pool. I was definitely a prune by the time I left. Every employee I encountered was spot on friendly and professional - that is except for the front desk person at the spa. Very unfriendly and I personally wouldn't be back for that. Unfortunate at a spa too. Love the location is walkable to old town - lots to do there if you want to get off property. I will definitely do a stay again and hopefully soon!

Yelp
My favorite hotel in the Valley. Not a chain hotel but a charming, high end location with a history. Absolutely the best and they attract the most amazing, professional and helpful staff of anywhere I have ever been. The rooms are great and the bathrooms with shower and tub are top of the line. The salmon at ZuZu cannot be beat and the expresso martini is amazing.

Yelp
I know my original review of this place has disappeared. I had originally written after attending a corporate event here years ago. They provide an amazing catering experience here. It used to feel more spacious driving up. Now it is really compact with all the new buildings and current construction in the area. I prefer contemporary modern more than mid century. It has a cool vibe walking in with the large bar. I like how the glass brings in the light inside from the outdoor patio with seating on the way to the pool. In the past I arrived late in the evening and left late. This time we attended our friend's son's wedding and were able to experience the hotel in the day. Again we had exceptional service and our friends were very happy with the wedding and the hotel as well. I waited to hear about their experience before reviewing. I enjoy walking around nature on spacious grounds at resorts where Valley-Ho Hotel is more of a concrete jungle, but is conveniently located with-in walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale. I prefer Valley-Ho for the night life and evening ambience. Though it very popular for cocktails, and bachelor and Bachelorette parties it is very kid friendly as well.

Yelp
Holy...this place was just such a great experience from start to end and everything in between! From Ty to Ivan and all the bellhops in-between, they were all so kind and so unbelievably helpful, never felt once that we were being a problem - we'd run around during the day, come back in the heat of the day, then go run around in the cooler evening. They always offered water and had the AC on for us in the car! The people at the front desk were even wonderful! Never had to juggle from the car to the room and from the room to the car - the bellboys took care of it for us! As much as I didn't care for the aesthetic of the place (I'm not into MCM), the staff there was top notch. It was like being at Disneyland before all the bad came to that park.

Yelp
I'm only giving this a four because I think the price to stay are ridiculous. It is a beautiful vintage hotel with futuristic prices. I did love the decor, the history, and the swimming pool was great. Everyone that we met working, were very polite and wanted to be a part of the family. Hopefully someday I will be able to find and book a night stay that will fit more of my budget. I looked the other day and a room was over $600, where do you people get that kind of money for a room? I don't understand but it was busy. I WOULD RECOMMEND. You have to stay once.

Yelp
Hotel Valley Ho was a great choice for a long weekend getaway to Scottsdale. The amenities at the hotel were wonderful. We have become accustom to staffing shortages where we are from - and this seemed to be a non-issue here at Valley Ho. Every where you turned there was staff nearby and willing to help. The Pros: - Monday-Thursday the pool area is wonderful. Great service, great food (from Zuzu), and great drinks. Plenty of spots around the pool and wasn't overly crowded. - Super attentive staff. - Zuzu has an amazing menu. We were there for many days and left with a few things we had wish we'd tried because the menu was so good. Awesome that it can be served directly to the pool too. - Spacious and clean rooms, we had a "parking lot" view but in the evening you were able to see the sun slowly set behind Camelback which was gorgeous. - The hotel is walkable to lots of restaurants and shops in Old Town - The spa at the hotel was great! We enjoyed massages and both felt they were very restorative - Lots of street parking. We rented a car and I wasn't too enthused to pay $20+ per night to park in the Valley Ho lot. However, we had no issue at all finding street parking, which was actually closer than the Valley Ho parking lot. The Cons: - The most frustrating part (silly though!) was the lighting in the bathroom. The lighting was awful for applying makeup and there were really no good alternatives in the room - Friday-Sunday Pool party- this isn't your average pool party with a DJ. It was a rowdy crowd (girls throwing up in trash cans, topless girls, broken champagne bottles). We are usually all in for some good music but this was beyond. Lots of tasteless people in attendance and clearly no "rules" from the hotel. The only up-side is that it did start/end at reasonable hours (give or take 10am-5pm?) - We spent the second "rowdy day" at the smaller pool which was a nice alternative, but downside is there is zero attention from staff there. Overflowed towels, always running out of water, and no food/drink service. Would have been great for us, and financially a good idea for them to have at least one staff member serving that pool. Overall, this is a great place to stay. Just a little more enjoyable during the week than on the weekend.

Yelp
We've stayed at this hotel several times over the past several years. It's always been a fun place to stay with excellent service. We had a spacious tower room with a view of the OH pool and beautifully landscaped grounds. The food at Zuzu is excellent, as are the cocktails! Our only complaint was the mushroom omelet was not good. The mushrooms were so tough we couldn't cut them with a knife. It also included tiny slices of asparagus - those were the only two ingredients and it just did not make for a good omelet. For other meals we had truffle fries, shrimp tacos, eggs benedict, hummus/pita, and a cheeseburger - all superb! The bartender at the OH pool made an excellent Bloody Mary! Employee Maddie went above and beyond to make our poolside time wonderful. Her personality is such a delight, and she was extremely helpful in getting our umbrella set up every day. The front desk staff and hotel porters were very helpful and friendly. We always enjoy our stay here!

Yelp
i did a lot of research before i chose this place and i wasn't disappointed. king tower room with a pool/mountain/downtown view with a private patio was awesome. when i called to ask about the resort i was given a better price than online and was comped the micro and fridge rental - superb customer service from the start. every person at the front desk and valet were super nice and friendly. special call out to kody at the bar for being very friendly and personable. shout out to alex for his service at the pool. the only rude person i encountered, and i mean super rude, was markenson at the bar. not sure how long he's been there and how long he will last. he needs to understand customers are paying to stay there and pay his wages/tips so i didn't tip him. this was the only person out of 15+ i encountered that does not uphold the expectations of stellar service provided by everyone else. hope mgmt sees this and will assess whether they want to continue to employ him based on customer feedback as well as co-workers.
