"The 8th isn’t known for monuments or tourist attractions, but you should know it for Oh Vin Dieu. They serve perfectly plated fine-dining-quality food and wine at a price that ensures you don’t have to throw down a month’s worth of rent. The seasonal dinner menu of traditional French food only has four main dishes, thus letting you use the brainpower to choose bottles off the multipage wine menu. If you see the oeuf mayo with squash seeds and pickled carrots, zero in on it, and try the braised ris de veau with a glass (or bottle) of Cru Beaujolais or tête de veau (calf’s head) with a red Cotes du Jura to level up the experience. Reservations are a must, but plan accordingly: they’re closed Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday." - sara lieberman, tanisha townsend

This restaurant is one of my top choices when I visit Paris. You will discover traditional French dishes nicely presented. The food is great and the owner of the restaurant is very versed into wines and has a great selection. Don't hesitate to ask for his advice.

What a super evening! A smashing little restaurant with a great atmosphere. The menu might not be extensive (no vegetarian option), but the food is delish. Do not leave without trying the famous "egg mayo". The choice of wine is amazing. The acoustic is spot on - you can actually have a conversation without having to shout. Kudos to the hard-working team.

The restaurant proposes excellent and generous meals, accompanied by a carefully put together wine list, and above all, a warm welcome. The staff makes sure that when having dinner there, it feels like having dinner with friends.

Just popped in for a glass of wine after stralling around Paris on a chilly, winterly Thursday. Sebastian is a brilliant host and surprised us with a glass of fantastic red Burgundy. We will absolutely also taste the food next time in Paris. Book a table!

Overall a very good experience. Coming from Spain, a 6 euro bottle of water seemed excessive price for me so they lost the fifth star.

They took 45 min to bring the food and when they did the deer I ordered was raw they never asked me how I wanted it, a very simple dish nothing out of this world. Since yesterday I’m in bed feeling terrible after eating that
