Google
Inconsistent. First time we tried this place, it was amazing. Got the usual chicken katsu curry, tasted great, portion size was great too. Really started to like this place so I decided to go back again yesterday. Got a plate yesterday and one of the orders had undercooked chicken. It was hard and I could barely pierce it with a fork. It was so undercooked that it felts like I received a plate of cooked and hardened Jello. Still looked pink. Had to throw most of the chicken away due to this. Chefs need to be trained better because this poses a serious health hazard.

Got some takeout for dinner and didn't expect the standout dish to be from the Chinese menu instead of the Hawaiian bbq, etc. The Kalua pork was just ok, nothing unexpected with Portuguese sausage and eggs, the chicken katsu curry was crispy and came in a sizable portion for the regular order, but the Chow Fun (dry) wide rice noodles had excellent flavor! If we went back, I'd definitely get that again! There are 2 tables for eating outside too.

Google
Fresh, hot orange chicken with fluffy white rice was tasty. Thai tea was pretty good as well as the cleanliness of the location. Will definitely be back to try more items!

I grew up on L&L and this is like McDonald's vs Burger King, but instead of burgers we're comparing Hawaiian BBQ and more importantly musubi. I'm happy to report that Ohana is just as good as what I was expecting, and may I say their prices are also a bit down to earth compared to L&L. Since finding Ohana I've basically stopped going to L&L to satisfy my Spam musubi, macaroni salad, and BBQ chicken + rice cravings.

Google
This place has given me hope with their Mongolian Beef. Been awhile since I've had one so good! I've tried it twice, a long with the chicken katsu (for the wife) and the BBQ short ribs and everything has absolutely slapped. Big portions too, literally two meals worth! Food was not too greasy like other places or too much oil in it.

Google
I used to always go to L&L for my chicken katsu curry, but this place is far superior! Huge portions for way less price. Amazing hidden gem. I've ordered from here 3 times in the last week. Edit: I always order on ubereats, and despite there not being an option for extra curry I asked for extra curry if it was free, and said it it cost money, there's no need to give me any. They gave me extra even though it cost extra (I didn't know). I love this establishment and will always order from here for my Hawaiian food needs Edit 2, 2023-12-1: Decided to try their wings. Oh my god. Best salt and pepper wings I've ever had in my life.

Google
The ribs were tough and nervy. The spam sushi was interesting and it’s the first time I had that. But overall not a bad fast casual place.

Google
Should be zero stars. This place is terrible we catered for my daughter‘s baby shower. We ordered a full pan of barbecue short ribs full pan of barbecue chicken, half pan of salt Pepper shrimp. They were all empty there’s barely anything in the pans we spent $400 and we had people to feed. I transferred the food Into a shallow half pan and it fit. And it’s supposed to be a full pan. Even the salt and pepper shrimp was barely anything in it. Don’t ever go to this place I promise you it’s a freaking rip off. We have a lot of food catered all the time. I would rather go to L&L Bbq from now on. And FYI the barbecue chicken does not have skin on it. And the barbecue short ribs was thin and chewy. I was busy at home with the party so I sent my wife to pick it up. If I was there I wouldn’t have taken it I would’ve asked for my money back. Do not cater from here. Save yourself the trouble specially if you expect to feed people. This is the Ohana Hawaiian barbecue on S. Rainbow Blvd.

Yelp
*Ordered through GRUBHUB so i didnt not dine in I love LauLau. Most places i ordered from here in vegas is hit or miss. Decided to try out the LauLau plate from Ohana Hawaiian BBQ and it was delicious! Meat to leaf portion was great. Meat was soft - maybe a little more salt for taste but that easy to add yourself & some ppl dont like salt so it's understandable as lau lau is made to order but premade as it should be because of the way its cooked & the time it takes to make. The salad was also delicious & overall i felt the plate was generous! I'll be back!

Yelp
I was in town and was getting my nail done next door so decide to a mini short rib plate to eat while getting a pedicure. The short rib was cook perfectly juicy and the staff was nice and friendly. I didn't receive any bad service as other stated.

Yelp
I've been living in this area for 8 years, been coming here for a very long time. Always order same food every time for dinner when I decide to eat here. I am 100% sure how the food should taste like. Half & Half katsu and short ribs, also salt and pepper pork chop. I picked up on the way home after work around 5:45pm, tasted like rubber and cold. Like it was frozen and wasn't thaw right before cooking it. A family of 4, taken the first bite and spit out. Frustrated I drove back and got there around 6:30 pm, calmly saying to the cashier this doesn't taste right and I want a refund. They grabbed a manager and the manager opened it to look and said it's "Normal". I told the manager "it's not normal". Manager a woman said "No, it's Normal if you look through the restaurants and who orders it, you'll see it's Normal." I told her "I've been coming here for a long time and I'm telling you it doesn't taste right and I just want my refund" Manager replied ," Okay we will refund you, but I'm telling you it's Normal" I just blew a fuse because she keep telling me is normal and I replied ," This crap is not normal, I've been coming here for a long time now and grab the same thing over and over again and it's one of my favorite dish, why won't you take bite(she didn't take bite of it) I came and picked up the food in my work truck after a long days of work, and you think I'll waste my time and drive 10 min to come back for no reason, just so you can tell me I'm wrong and it's normal! You try it!!" Manager waves her hand out with an attitude saying ,"I don't want to argue." They did refund me, but never again. I know they don't always have the same chef in the back, and I wasn't going to write a review, I work in an industry of customer service, I wasn't going to blame the whole restaurant base on one Chef. But the Manager who is not a Chef, trying to drill into me that it is normal not knowing how it tasted, instead of apologizing and seeing what they can do, It wouldn't have been a problem and I would of still come back as a customer.

Yelp
Flavorful Hawaiian comfort food! Ohana is so great! So much food for such a great price. I ordered the chicken katsu plate with 2 scoops of Mac and 1 scoop of rice. Let me tell you, the food is awesome! Crispy and hot chicken, flavorful rice and the Mac salad is so creamy and tasty! They also serve a big side of the Katsu sauce on the side. So many great options on their menu I can't wait to order from them again to try another item!

Yelp
Why is it so hard to just put all rice and chicken katsu in a bin. I do NOT want macaroni salad. If I did I would order it. STOP WITH THE MACARONI SALAD. STOP. I DO NOT WANT IT.

Mariah P.

Yelp
I just called to try to put out a take out order before their closing time, & someone answered the phone, then hung up. So I called a second time & low & behold, they left the phone line on, so it was busy. I proceeded to call them about 8 more times after that, & the line was still busy. Very disappointing & unprofessional in my opinion. When I checked what time they closed, it said 10. I called at 9. Smh. False advertisement! Don't post you guys close at 10, but ignore orders beforehand.

Yelp
I've ordered here a lot and this is by far the best chicken Katsu. I've had nice and neat presentation was great exactly what I ordered and exactly what looks like in the picture. Awesome job.

Yelp
Mistakes happen and we all make them! What we're supposed to teach children is to apologize when it's warranted, be kind and take accountability for your actions. Clearly the 'child' at the counter didn't learn any of these basics. If you've ever ordered katsu chicken from any Hawaiian bbq spot... it's not the same without the sauce. With this in mind, the only thing I asked when picking up my phone order was "are the sauces in the bag?" -I would typically check the bag for accuracy (who wants to get back home and something is missing or incorrect). BUUT her very confident reply of "YEAH, ITS ALL IN THERE" sounded convincing and felt that I can trust her. Went home with the fairly large order and to my surprise.... NO SAUCES!! After a short conversation on the phone in attempt to get some type of refund (due to the frustration). I ended up just driving back to grab the missing sauces. Here's where the childish behavior of immature people comes in. Instead of receiving an apology, I was greeted with attitude.... Absolutely no apology from this 'child'. She takes no accountability for her actions. I would NOT be writing this review if she was KIND and gave some type of apology. BECAUSE mistakes happen but we ALL want to be treated with UNDERSTANDING.

Yelp
It's Friday 6/21/24 at about 6:00pm. This is my first visit to this restaurant. There is a lot of free parking and a couple of handicap parking stalls in front. One of the handicap stalls was occupied by a black Mercedes without a handicap placard or license plate. Oh well this is a common occurrence. The restaurant is bright and very clean. I ate there and watched someone cleaning the tables as people left. The people were friendly and helpful. The even brought the food to my table. I did have trouble using their app. I forgot my password and couldn't recover it. I'm sure it was user error. Because of this I was unable to use their on line $3.00 off coupon. I ordered the pan fried noodle combo. It was a little different than their blue diamond restaurant. The blue diamond store included mushrooms, baby corn, and celery. I must say that the total serving size here at rainbow is larger.

Yelp
Always our Hawaiian food go to, food is great, service is wonderful and the ambiance of the restaurant is nice for families and friends.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite Hawaiin restaurant but I don't know what happened. The general tao chicken didn't taste good at all. I asked for extra spicy but it wasn't. It tastes bland and old chicken. I asked for extra spicy for my all orders but not spicy at all. The Chicken katsu had no sauce comes with. They forgot to put one on. The service was good but not with checking things if everything was there. I should have checked it before I left. A lot of messing like condiments and sauces.

Yelp
If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I decided to try this Ohana Hawaiian Barbecue location at 7949 South Rainbow Blvd because the dining area looked nicer than the first place I went to over by Warm Springs on the southwest side. Big mistake. This turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had, and here's why: When I walked in with a guest, we were not greeted -- the two young ladies behind the counter were busy talking to each other. When we finally got to the counter, one of them just stared at us blankly, offering no help or suggestions. Her attitude was standoffish and skittish, and we were left to fumble through the menu, which had no helpful pictures unlike the southwest location. There was zero effort to assist us or guide us through the menu. We finally placed our order, and guess what? She forgot to ask about drinks -- something you'd think would be automatic when ordering combos. When I realized we needed drinks, I had to remind her. She handed me the card back after paying, only to awkwardly ask for it again because she forgot to process the drinks. Just ridiculous. The place itself was clean, and the atmosphere seemed fine -- until I noticed something even more infuriating. The second young lady with glasses greeted EVERYONE ELSE who walked in after us. "Hi, welcome!" she cheerfully said to others, while we got nothing but cold indifference. Talk about a blatant lack of respect. When the food arrived, it went from bad to worse. I ordered the BBQ Mix Plate with Kali ribs, BBQ chicken, and BBQ beef, plus double macaroni salad. The portion sizes were pathetic, the meat looked like leftover scraps, and the macaroni salad was mushy and flavorless. Who messes up macaroni salad at a Hawaiian BBQ joint? For the combined total of $49 for everything we ordered, the meal was absolutely not worth it. The quality of my combo alone was trash. To top it off, while we were eating, Christmas carolers came in, and the restaurant staff didn't bother turning down their blaring pop music. The result was a chaotic mess of loud, garbled noise. The carolers were asking for donations, which is fine, but the establishment's failure to manage the atmosphere was just another sign of their complete disregard for their customers. This place is a disaster. The staff's energy is terrible, the food is low-quality, and the service is non-existent. I will never return to this location, and I strongly urge others to stay away unless you want to waste your time and money. Do yourself a favor -- go to the southwest location by Warm Springs. The portions are right, the energy is welcoming, and you'll actually get what you pay for. This location needs new management and a serious attitude adjustment before it's worth anyone's time. Save your $49 and your sanity. You've been warned.

Yelp
Ohana Hawaiian BBQ is my new go to for Hawaiian food! Ohana beats L&L and other popular Hawaiian food chains easily. Service is always great and seating area is always clean. The food is great and always packed with flavor, with huge portions that make for great leftovers the day after. The Mac salad is the bomb and accompanies every meat/rice combo. My favorite items are the short ribs and the bbq beef, but I recently tried the garlic shrimp and that was pretty good too. Make sure to check them out!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried the 2 protein mixed plate -- BBQ chicken and kalua pork. The portion size was massive, good for about 3 meals. But the quality wasn't that great. The chicken had no grill marks or char one would expect from BBQ chicken. The pork was decent and the highlight of the meal. The interior of the restaurant is pretty large and they've got an extensive menu full of typical Hawaiian and Chinese dishes. Not my favorite Hawaiian spot, but with their reasonable prices and large portions I will probably be back.

Yelp
Been order here to go and their food never dissapoints. I always get the combination plate or the bbq chicken. This time I got the salt and pepper pork too. Their bbq chicken is good, juicy and flavorful The salt and pepper pork was tender, suprisingly its not too salty which is good! I really like their food here, the price is good and quality is always great.

Yelp
This place is one of those spots that's solid and consistent. I've been coming here for a while now and whenever I'm in here, I'm never disappointed. This specific location is hands down always consistent with their the food--always fresh, big portions, and tasty! Today I got the seafood and bbq platter combo. It came with teri beef, battered shrimp, and fish fillet on a bed of rice with a scoop of mac salad too. When I tell you this plate was massive, it really was. Two people can share and both be stuffed! My fiancé got the cheeseburger meal which came with fries and a drink too. Their burger is honestly such a sleeper. It doesn't look like much but it's so juicy and tasty, and for $9, you cannot simply beat that deal....You definitely need to order a side of gravy to dip your fries because it hits the spot! We've been coming here for a few years now and have tried a bunch of their food and they always taste great and we'll continue to come here for years to come. I'm so glad we came across this restaurant! Today we also got the wontons for our starter and I enjoyed it too but I think their other starters are way better like the pork belly buns!! Overall this is a great spot. They have a decent amount of tables in the dine in area where we ate and the other side of the restaurant is their to - go area which also has seatings but they will pack all your food to-go. I love that they have this because sometimes it's nice to just order and leave to eat elsewhere or at home.

Yelp
This is our go to for Hong Kong style pan fried crispy noodles. Very generous portion of noodles and a very tasty gravy. Today also got the Singapore noodles as well which we've had before and remembered being a good flavor and not too spicy. The hk style noodles were amazing as always. Lost a star because this time the Singapore noodles came with spam and not char siu!! It's too salty for this dish and completely changes the flavor. You go from Bite to bite between Singapore noodles to salt bomb. Please go back to bbq pork or just leave it out!!

Yelp
Long review but worth the read!!! 3 months ago I ordered to go food. I stated I had a food allergy (shellfish) and it was possible to get items without shrimp. They said no problem. I pick up my food, get home, and my fried rice has SHRIMP. So I call them, girl says if I come back she will make me a new one. I go all the way back, and she tries to charge me because I did t bring back the one with the shrimp. She never said to bring it back on the phone. The moment I saw shrimp I threw it away, Im THAT ALLERGIC. So I tell her that. And she tells me I could of just picked it out. I explain to her that SHRIMP WILL KILL ME, and I wasn't putting it back in my car. She reluctantly gives me new fried rice. Fast forward to this weekend. I explain what happened last time. I say I really want to support a small business but i understand if they cannot accommodate my allergy. She says it's not a problem. I order noodles with spam, chicken fried rice, and wonton soup with pork/chicken wontons. When I got there to pick up my food, I explain again shrimp will kill me. So I open each to go container, I don't see any shrimp, perfect. The cooks are standing in the window so I also ask them. They assure me there's no seafood in my order. I pay my $68 for three items and leave. Get home. Go for the wonton soup which consists of broth, broccoli, and chicken/pork wontons (so I thought). Within seconds of biting into a wonton, I feel my throat itch, and swell. My lips swelled so fast they turned black and blue. I was in full blown Anaphylactic shock. Luckily I was able to get and use my epi pen. My 5 year old daughter watched all of this. I also needed Benadryl. Today I've called the restaurant 3 times to speak with a manager. Not a single phone call back. I work in the food industry. It is completely negligent and unforgiveavle to ignore someone when they go above and beyond to communicate a DEADLY allergy. So in the end, it cost me $70 to almost be killed by these jerk offs

Yelp
Ordered take out. Their chow fun and crispy gau gee is always a must! Staff was friendly and quick. First time at rainbow location and this restaurant has lots of seating.

Yelp
Bomb spot for Hawaiian BBQ! Always hits the spot, big portion sizes and my kid loves their variety on musubis - specifically the Chicken Katsu Musubi. So ono!

Yelp
Didn't dine in, but the restaurant was definitely nice and clean. The staff were fine and the bbq mix combo was great as usual. It comes with Hawaiian barbecue beef, chicken, short ribs, rice and macaroni salad. Im not a big rib eater by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm not quite sure if it's an inherently tough and difficult to chew kind of meat... like carne Asada. But what I do know is, when I usually purchase the BBQ Mix combo the short rib is always so difficult to chew. Next time I think I'll see if I can substitute it for a different meat. Which for me would make it a 100% perfect meal.

Yelp
Customer service skills need a lot of work. We came in on a Friday night to have dinner. Mind you, the place was empty. We ordered a combo plate but served a regular plate. Instead of apologizing, the cashier made it sound like that it was our fault. They insisted that it was a misunderstanding even though we were very clear with our order. I wish the management would teach their staff how to respond and handles these types of situations. Clearly, the staff lack soft skills and good listening skills to make their customers feel respected and welcome.

Yelp
Didn't actually dine in but my brother ordered take out for us. Great menu selection and was definitely hadd to pick one item. Food was great, portions were big, would order again.

Yelp
First time here. When you first walk in. Nothing really special. Spacious. Island sitting in the middle. This is more of a to-go type of service. Don't expect servers. You order your food and sit down. With that aside. I ordered the kalua and lau-lau combo. Food was decent. The kalua pork was good. But the lau-lau was a bit bland and watery. It looked like soup in my plate. The rice and macaroni was saturated and don't taste to well mixed together. I prefer my rice sticky not soaked. For something mid tier and not too pricy I can recommend it. But if you want something more then expect to go somewhere pricier
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Use to order from here all the time. Food was reasonably priced and delicious. Since Covid prices has risen dramatically. To give an example, I recently ordered a bbq mix plate thru the Uber Eats app. Cost me $30 for the one plate even though the delivery fee is only .50 cents of the cost. Received my food, instructions were followed, which made it inedible for me due to an allergy I have. Reached out to the store and Uber, wasn't offered a replacement meal or a credit. And tbh for the price I could have had something much higher in quality from somewhere else.

Yelp
Was excited to eat. Some Hawaiian barbecue, however, was highly disappointed., food was lacking, flavor, and is not representative of good Hawaiian barbecue in my opinion.
google avatar

Fallon K.

Yelp
So much better than L&L. Yes I said it. It's super fresh and flavorful. I ordered the mini chicken bbq chicken plate. The grilled chicken was tender and plentiful. It came with one scoop of rice and one scoop of Macaroni salad. If your thinking about trying out this gem please do.
google avatar

Sione T.

Yelp
Good for Hawaii fast food. Portion size good. Quality is average. A little pricey but cost are going up everywhere.

Yelp
If your hungry, come to this restaurant. It's Hawaiian/local and Chinese. I ordered the general tsao chicken. The chicken was a bit too firm for me. I only ate about an with of the chicken. The Portuguese sausage musubi was good. The fried gau gee was quite large. We could only eat half of the 6 in the order. We gave the rest to a young man who was eating near us. My fried got the bbq plate. She liked it but again, it was a lot. The staff was very friendly and nice. The tables with the booths were a little too tall for us. It was above my chest. We are petite.

Yelp
Half & Half combo: Katsu and BBQ Chicken Food: Katsu portion was generous! But under seasoned. No katsu sauce either. Whatever sauce it came with was Josie made but tastes like sweet and sour. I was hoping a katsu sauce would make up for the blandness. BBQ chicken was good Menu: Great variety of combos, desert (with teas and slush too) Kids menu: Yes Customer service: Good and friendly Establishment: Clean with ampul parking Restrooms: Clean Kid friendly: Yes Price point: Average for area Do I recommend this place, or will I come back? Not authentic Hawaiian, it's more like Chinese-Hawaiian fission but it's still good so yes and yes.

Yelp
I live almost half way between 2 Ohana Hawaiian BBQ locations (the other is on Durango), and both serve good tasting Hawaiian food. Although I do tend to visit the other location more, since it felt like they need the support of locals more (until road construction on Robindale by the high school cut off the most direct route). Anyway, I just want to say that this Ohana on Rainbow (next to Taste, they actually share the kitchen and have the same owner) has been great every time I have stopped by for takeout orders. The portions are good, not humongous like real island grinds, but no complaints here. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken is my go to order, and all the many times I have ordered it they never disappoint. The Katsu is pretty darn good too. The short ribs are just okay (at KBBQ I don't cook it as well done as served here). The service from the cashier has always been courteous and friendly. And the wait for the takeout order has always been very reasonable. I definitely don't mind supporting this business, especially during the age of quarantine and social distancing. 4 stars. P.S. Now Costco sells breaded Spam, I wonder if that will make it onto the menu along with Fried Spam Musubi?

Yelp
Great Hawaiian food that I always come back for more. You can't go wrong with the service either and they are very fast at getting your order ready for you. Check them out!

Yelp
Hubby wanted Hawaiian for Father's Day- lunch (6/21/20), so we got takeout; see my pics. We don't have it as much as we used to (I'm tired of L & L and there isn't one nearby, anyway, either), so this was a nice treat. (The musubi was hubby's, as I've consumed enough spam in my lifetime.) The order was right. Yay! Spam musubi, BBQ chicken saimin and plate lunches: Kalua Pork and Chicken Katsu. All of us (our son) split it and it was the bomb! The saimin was perfect- from the seasoning to the noodles, the plate lunches were delicious. No fat in the kalua pork, which is a good thing. And the chicken was perfect, too. Sometimes some restaurants' chicken katsu is super greasy. Not here, not the case with this one. Generous portions, so we had leftovers to enjoy later, too. We enjoyed it very much. I prefer this restaurant to L & L. Gonna make this a regular place for us. We miss the 808 state but we can always depend on this place for good Hawaiian eats. Two spots in front for takeout. They have a Chinese menu too, which is online, but the printed one only has the Hawaiian menu.

Yelp
This review is for the location on South Rainbow. walked in at 11 AM. Ordered a regular Loco Moco. Was informed that the order would not be ready for 20 minutes since nothing had been cooked yet. I thought that was weird but didn't feel like driving anywhere else. 20 minutes went by, no food. 30 minutes no food. There were only 5 customers in the restaurant so not like the place was super busy. The person behind the counter was yelling at the cooks to get my Loco Moco turned out for over 10 minutes. Finally, after waiting 40 minutes, I got my food. Not pleased with how long it took, and the food was just okay. The eggs were over cooked and the Pattie's were all misshapen and cooked weird.

Yelp
I can always count on Ohana Hawaiian BBQ. I usually go to the location on Blue Diamond, but that location was closing for the night. Luckily this location (Which was short drive from the other location) was open until 10pm. Truly grateful that this location is open that late because not much Hawaiian BBQ places, let alone other take out restaurants are open that late. The Ohana franchise has consistently been making some of the best Hawaiian BBQ and Chinese Food. Ohana Hawaiian BBQ is my go to place because portions are always big, food is always on point, and their food taste closest to home (I used to live in Hawaii). This location has always been great. I usually call in my order and by the time I drive their, it's usually ready. Workers are always nice as well. On this particular day, I ordered a half and half combo. In which you can pick any two choices/protein on the menu. I ordered chicken Katsu and bbq chicken. I would definitely recommend trying this because it gives you chicken two ways. Another dish I would recommend is the BBQ combo plate. Which gives you three different entrees/proteins. Other than Hawaiian BBQ, they also do Chinese Food. I have a lot of favorites: Beef Chow fun, crispy gau gee with cake noodle, Salt and pepper calamari, and salt and pepper pork chops. I definitely would recommend trying the Chinese menu. Overall, location is conveniently located on Rainbow. They are open until 10pm. Food is consistently delicious. Portions are big. I will definitely be ordering something soon.

Yelp
I've been enjoying food here for years. I've catered food for numerous parties from here so it's sad that the situation couldn't be resolved. I ordered a mix plate with bbq chicken and hamburger steak to go. Before I left, the cashier double checked the food returned it to the cook because he forgot the gravy on the hamburger steak. When I started eating at home, I noticed the bbq chicken was bland. I think they didn't marinate it long enough before cooking it. I wasn't going to complain until I cut into one of the chicken and it was still raw in the middle. So I called them back and told them of the situation and the cashier said he'll let the manager know and that he'll give me a call back to resolve the situation. One week later and still no phone call. Oh well, they lost my business!

Yelp
The girls at the front are always so sweet and professional. Food is fire! I always place catering orders with the girls and everything is always good I've never been disappointed!

Yelp
I am thoroughly disappointed with this restaurant. Used to order from here all the time sometimes several times a week when I was too lazy after work to cook. It was just very convenient. After COVID, things changed, such as long wait times for food or they ran out out of items on the menu. Then I noticed when I called in my orders, the workers taking my orders were just plain rude and nasty. The two I recall were young Asian woman who had no clue that they are working for a restaurant with the names "Ohana" and "Hawaiian" in the name. Both of these young girls (not from the islands) just plan ignorant about what the significance of the Hawaiian culture in the name of the restaurant they chose to work for. Then I noticed that this terrible attitude extended to the management in regards to money and their inability to take responsibility when orders went wrong. For example, one time they took my order for items they ran out. Instead of refunding me my money, they tried to replace with more Mac salad (which I never eat anyway so why would I want more). What kind of policy and business prevents their workers from refunding the price of items they do not have in stock? How insane! Today, there was a miscommunication in my order in which a small dipping sauce was not placed in my take out food. After driving all the way home and noticing this, I went back only to be told they would charge me for the dipping sauce. Instead of understanding that a mistake was made and knowing (like any other ethical business would) the best practice is to work with the customer to make the mistake right, instead this business wants to charge me more money for their own worker's mistake. Talk about a business being tight on money!! Please take the words Ohana and Hawaiian out of your restaurant's name since you have no clue what it signifies and stop exploiting the Hawaiian culture for cheap profits especially since your sour attitudes and policies are not "Pono" and fail to represent everything beautiful which symbolizes Hawaii and the Hawaiian culture. This place will no longer get my business with rotten service, attitudes and business practices! Hello Zippy's here we come to spend our kala!

Yelp
This is the first time I've been to their location on Rainbow. It's more comfortable to dine here than the one in Blue Diamond. The design of this place is open and spacious. They have nice modern table seating and if you look up, there's these blue drop lights that are mesmerizing. There's also a cool collage of food strung on the divider. The atmosphere is chill and casual, and the music is pretty upbeat. I came here for dinner. The place gets busy after 6 pm but most customers would order for takeout. They offer a mixture of Hawaiian and Chinese food. Everything on their menu is reasonably priced. I was craving for noodles and opt for Lo Mein with Shrimp and Chicken ($10.45). This noodle dish is very flavorful and delicious! They give good portions. Chicken is moist and tender, shrimp is juicy. Stir fried veggies of carrots, onions, bean sprouts, cabbage make this meal satisfying, there's plenty of noodles and that's a plus star for me! I also got two scoops of Macaroni Salad ($1 per scoop) which is always my favorite, and tried something new with Pineapple Crab Rangoon ($5.50). This comes as six pieces of fried crunchy wontons filled with cream cheese, crabmeat, and pineapple served with a sweet pineapple sauce. The rangoons are very tasty with pieces of pineapple inside, but dipping it in a sticky sweet sauce made it overly sweet for my liking. I think a savory teriyaki sauce would be a better choice for the Pineapple Crab Rangoon and you'll find it at the self-serve station near the utensils and soda fountain. Aside from sodas, they offer smoothies and milk teas for beverages. I tried the Lavender Milk Tea ($3.95) for the first time. They use non-dairy cream. After one sip I just can't drink anymore of it, the lavender flavor is too strong. It's probably an acquired taste for people who love lavender, but for me it's a no. I was able to try a different drink, which is Peach Oolong Tea ($3.95) without cheese foam. It has a light peach flavor but the oolong taste is also strong. Service is very friendly. The people here are welcoming, cheerful, and so accommodating which I truly appreciate. Whether you're ordering for takeout or dine in, they bring the food to you. One tip is if you order a smoothie, they cannot adjust the sweetness because they use sugar syrup. But for milk teas you can request to make it less sweet.

Yelp
We wanted to try this spot for awhile and finally walked in. There was a lot of local Hawaiian entrees. We had the BBQ Combo Mix Plate, side order laulau, and mini Garlic Shrimp. The BBQ mixed plated had chicken, teri beef, Kalbi, rice, and mac salad. It hit the spot since we were hungry for Hawaiian food. The laulau was ok. At least they had it. The pork was a little dry but there was a lot of luau leaves which had a lot of its juices. Garlic shrimp was pretty plain. It's just cooked in garlic and not "butter garlic" like I'm used to when the menu has garlic shrimp. I thought that was automatic. So we couldn't finish it honestly. Walk up service was friendly and fast.

Yelp
Ohana's quality has dropped ever since they teamed up with Taste restaurant next door. The staff of Taste sit in front of Ohana and smoke cigarettes, there's ashtrays at the entrance & its so filthy before you enter Ohana. I've been told, both restaurants are owned by the same owner.

Yelp
This place is amazing, I crave it every single day. I would eat here every day if I could afford it LOL I usually get the curry chicken katsu. I tried it for the first time about a month ago, and I've had it more than 10x since then. I do suggest calling in your order prior to going in if you're trying to take out.

Yelp
This is my favorite Ohana Hawaiian BBQ restaurant. I literally live like a block from another one but I always drive over to go to this one. The food is always on point and consistent. Me, my family and friends never have any complaints about this place and you get a lot bang for your buck too! My usual order is the crispy kau gee cake noodles, chicken curry katsu, and the beef chow fun. Sometimes I get the spam musubi, Singapore noodles or bbq chicken plate ( depending on who's at my house at the time). Everything is always very tasty and if you order take out, they always package everything very nice and the sauces/toppings are packed separate so the food doesn't get soggy. A BIG Plus!!! The girls that work here are all very nice, efficient and cute. I may have to bring my sons here with me one day. ;) lol

Yelp
When you want some island favorites that are quick and tasty this is the place to go. They got all your favorites such as bbq chicken, kalua pig, chicken katsu, loco moco, kalbi etc. I usually get the bbq chicken since that's my favorite. Sometimes I'll get the mixed plate where you can mix and match two meats which is about $17. You honestly cannot go wrong with that because the portions are humongous and you usually will have some left overs! When it comes to tasty local food from Hawaii this place is a great place to check out. The staff is also super friendly every time I come in here! They also include Mac salad with all their plates and I personally like their Mac salad because it is not smothered in mayonnaise like some other restaurants sometimes tend to do. Come check this place out sometime and enjoy the local grindz .

Yelp
The food was so good. Nice to have just white meat when you get chicken katsu. Mac salad was yummy! The mini size was big, definitely worth the money. The place was very clean. The lady at the register was very nice. Highly recommend this place

Yelp
I liked the spam musubi but feel there was just way too much rice and a pretty thin cut of spam. However, it was only 2.50 for each, which is a lot cheaper than I can get it from most places in Houston and the rice had a good amount of sauce in the center to keep it flavorful. The katsu bowl was okay. The curry itself was really bland imo, but the katsu had decent flavor. I wouldn't get that again, but it makes a quick and easy meal. I also got the Ohana milk tea. It kind of just tasted like sugary milk and didn't really have much of a tea flavor. To be honest, I like sweet milks too, so I didn't mind. The walk up and order process was pretty easy and the service was polite. I think the one complaint I have is that my to go order wasn't very well packed and the top of the curry bowl was open.

Yelp
Not sure what has happened to Ohana in the last couple of years, even right before COVID - make sure you check your takeout orders before leaving. We've had mixed up or incorrect meals given to us (received wrong order, asked for no mac salad, and then mac salad is in the box, etc). But unfortunately it's not just the mix up on orders - the food hasn't been the best quality. Katsu is sometimes overcooked or almost cold, like it was fried earlier in the day and just sat out. Loco moco gravy has no flavor every so often. This place is still better than L&L but we don't go as often as we used to since the consistency has gone down.
