Where To Find Hawaiian Plate Lunches in Las Vegas

"Diners flock to Ohana Hawaiian Barbecue for a seafood and barbecue combination plate that includes fried fish, fried shrimp, and a choice of barbecue beef, short ribs, or chicken plus two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni. Other plate lunches include loco moco, hamburger steak, pineapple chicken, and chicken cutlet with brown gravy. Mini plates with one scoop of each side are available." - Krista Diamond

I dance hula a couple miles away, and my Hula sista recommended we go here for lunch. The restaurant seems to be split with dine in service, and the other side is take out. Ohana's offers Hawaii inspired dishes, which includes Chinese food. Food: Salt & Pepper Pork Chop Fried Noodles Pork Soup Dumplings aka Xiao Long Bao Mini Kalua Pig Plate My friends also ordered Cake Noodle Combo Crispy Gau-gee The salt & pepper pork chop had no taste. Very bland. I took it home and added salt. I enjoyed the Gau-gee with hot mustard. The XLB was ok. It did not have a lot of soup, and it was a bit dry compared to what I've had at other restaurants. Also, there was a mishap with the Kalua Pig plate. When the server brought me the plate, I noticed that it had cabbage. So basically, Kalua Pig Cabbage. No where on the menu did it said Kalua Pig Cabbage. I asked the server about it, and she said that's how they make it unless I tell them. I said sorry, but the menu doesn't give an option, and I ordered Kalua Pig, not Kalua Pig Cabbage. She made it right and changed my plate to Kalua Pig. The highlight was the fried noodles. It was the best dish. It was flavorful and tasted really good. I'd definitely return for that, and I'd like to try other dishes.

I recently dined at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ and overall, I had a pleasant experience. As others have mentioned, the staff was somewhat helpful, but I found them to be super nice and thoughtful. One thing that struck me about this restaurant is that it has two sides - one side is more of a sit-down restaurant while the other has a fast food vibe but still provides tables and chairs. It was a bit strange, but it didn't affect my dining experience too much. One highlight for me was that they had working fountain machines, which is always a plus. The tea was pretty good, and I was also impressed by their teriyaki sauce - it had a great flavor. Now, onto the food. I couldn't resist trying their Chicken Katsu, and I was not disappointed. It was a generous portion, enough to share with three people. The rice was cooked perfectly, and I even got an extra scoop because I opted out of the macaroni salad (which, by the way, I never really liked even when I lived in Hawaii). I know, I know, it's a personal preference. The Katsu sauce was also excellent, and I enjoyed dipping my chicken slices in it. As a first-time visitor, I did enjoy the overall experience at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ. I would definitely go back to try something different from their menu. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend stopping by - you won't be disappointed. The casual atmosphere adds to the relaxed dining experience.

Google
Staff was somewhat helpful. Not a original Hawaiian BBQ food place, more on the mainland side. They had no pineapple for orders. All ages can be served. Facilities were not that clean. Messy front counter. A lot of back stalk/ storage was in main dinning room. Seating inside only.

Google
Food taste great, especially the Fried Rice and stir-fried vegetables. Service was good and I commend the team for quickly addressing a concern we had about our order. Taking the customer's complaint seriously and offering a compromise was pleasing. The location is easily accessible with ample parking. Interior decor has room for improvement and as the business grows and has more space this is expected to improve. The prices were moderate and consistent with the value provided. The toilet facility was clean as well.

We are regulars here. The Chicken Katsu never disappoints! We also had Chicken Chow Funn. The veggies were deliciously crispy, chicken was tender and the sauce was lovely.

Google
The food is delicious, I've tried a lot on their menu, and I was never disappointed. As you walk in, you can smell the delicious food cooking in the air. They give you enough for at least 2 people in 1 order, so the portions are big. The prices are average but well worth it. The restaurant itself is always clean, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend coming for some good Hawaiian food.

Google
Wow!!!! You get so so much food...huge portions. I ordered the Chinese style mixed vegetables with chicken. It comes with a side of rice and drink. I paid $14 for everything in the picture. Food is made to order and delectable. The vegetables are medium cooked and still holds a crunch. But the best thing about this place is their staff. I know there is a shortage of workers everywhere. Their staff goes way and beyond. Such a group of happy, hard-working ppl. I will be back for your beef noodle soup!

Google
Food was delicious and authentic! Made fresh and we didn't have to wait very long. Visiting Las Vegas area and saw this food place 😋 it was so good! We ordered the chicken fried rice and orange chicken and it was tasty! The portions are large! The orange chicken came with a complimentary steam white rice! I will come back to try more of their items from the huge menu!

Yelp
Big portion, bbq chicken is always cooked to perfection. Mac salad is yummy. Tried the other meats but the bbq chicken is the best and only one I would order over and over. This is our go-to place for a quick yummy hawaiian bbq meal. I just always get it to go. One of the best Hawaiian places out here in vegas! Keep it up! :)

Yelp
Omg $6.25 for French fries! I didn't check the price for the fries. It cost just as much as the mini plate.

Yelp
This place is just So So. I had the ribs. They were really tough but the macaroni salad was great. A few other people in our group said the same thing about their beef dishes. I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
They have nice service, and they quickly help/get your food ready. As expected from a Hawaiian restaurant, they give huge portions! You will definitely be full. Reasonably priced for the amount that they give. Chicken Katsu: - 1 scoop of Mac Salad- it was not bad, standard mac salad. - 2 scoops rice - Chicken- literally give 3 entire chicken breasts. It's so much food!!! I was eating the chicken, and felt that it was an endless amount of chicken. Definitely enough chicken to share with 2 people. Might need more sides, but the chicken is enough to share. Get the katsu sauce to go with the chicken. They don't have any vegetables in the box, which I was disappointed about. Would be nice if they had a little bit of veggies.

Yelp
Service here is always great, I've never dine in here before I always call in and do to-go. The ladies at the front are always nice. The food is already good our go to order is chicken katsu if not kalbi. Then occasionally spam musubi. The seating area is pretty decent size it's well kept and clean. Gives the old school vibes.

Yelp
I recently stumbled upon this little gem. If you're a fan of Hawaiian BBQ, then I recommend this spot as a must-visit. Of my share of Hawaiian BBQ joints, this place blew all others out of the water. But the standout dish for me has to be their Pork Belly Buns. Not only are they absolutely delicious, but they're also thoughtfully designed for the on-the-go eater. Since they come disassembled, I was able to make my drive home without worrying about them getting soggy or cold. And let me tell you, the staff at this place are just as amazing as the food. They're so friendly and welcoming, which just adds to the overall experience. So, if you're looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience with a side of great service, then you absolutely have to check out this spot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Take out. So there we were, my friend and I, on a girlboss lady pants weekend away. We'd been doing some outdoor adventure stuff and didn't want to cook or go to a restaurant so we ordered takeout. Y'all I can't tell you want my galpal got...I think it was general tso's chicken. I didn't try it but she said 5/5 she would order again after an outdoor adventure. I got loco moco and huge cup of soup. And I have no notes. Loco moco is a comfort food to me and I was suuuuper comfortable after demolishing my order. We will definitely be ordering from Ohana next time we're in Las Vegas.

Yelp
We had our food delivered and it was delicious! Fast delivery. Highly recommend Ohana Hawaiian BBQ

Yelp
Always had loved this place - but today its terrible. For a fact that its a huge order and a to go (and ofcourse i placed a tip) u would expect to have a warm hello welcome! And a smile. Well, not today. Im marking this as a 3 today as the food is always a 5 for me and the ambiance too is a 5!

Yelp
First time eating here I placed my order online for pick up because I like to do reviews on restaurants food that we eat. I must say I've eaten at other Hawaiian restaurants. I wasn't impressed with the food that I ordered here. The Hawaiian bbq chicken was so so could've been better but the portion was nice, the steamed veggies well that can't be messed up but the macaroni salad wasn't good at all. The spam musubi wasn't good the spam was too pink not cooked like we're use to and not enough teriyaki sauce on it at all. We ordered 3 of them because that's my child's favorite but she didn't care for these particular ones they make. Overall I will give a rating a 4/10 for the food since I didn't have a real customer service interaction with anyone like that to give my honest opinion.

Yelp
When you come here, you better be ready to eat.! The food is delicious and sooooo filling. I ordered a BBQ beef plate and a BBQ chicken plate which was very good.! I think I like them both equally, but then I also ordered something called the MANAPUA.. wow, first time having it and it was interesting.! I really liked it and will definitely get it again. They are so soft to bite into, then you get to the middle and find out they are filled with delicious beef filling. Ordered online and it was ready as soon as we got there, also a plus.!

Yelp
I walked in on my lunch break and had a horrible experience here due to poor customer service. I was not greeted when I came in, and was looked at as if I did something wrong. Reluctantly I still decided to ordered anyway, the food was basic and lacked flavor. The presentation was sloppy. Also, on the menu it stated that the passion fruit lemonade had free refills for dine in customers but they denied me a refill. I politely thanked them and left.

Yelp
I ordered take out delivery from Uber Eats so I can't review the store itself. I ordered the Kalbi Plate. The Kalbi was good but I prefer my kalbi more marinated BUT it wasn't horrible - it was good. The Mac salad was a little too much Mayo but definitely eatable as well. I'll be back to try other items!

Yelp
First of all, excellent service...Alyssa was full of Aloha. True Ohana atmosphere. We had a taste of a lot on the menu...Chinese, saimin, burgers and plate lunch. Everything was so onolicious! Big tasty portions! Will most definitely be back. Highly recommended! Go check em, go!

Yelp
Wife and I decided to have lunch here today! Food is always delicious and huge portion! Bring tour stomach and after you eat you will be satisfied!

Yelp
This place is so freaking good. Or maybe I was just starving after work, but very good. I'm chinese and they had this crazy long menu ranging from chow mein and bbq mixed plate. I was craving my teriyaki chicken so that's what this chic got and then I don't really want to eat a lot of rice lately so I asked if I could get more Mac salad instead and homegirl hooked it up!! The cashiers were so busy but she still took time to chit chat and I had to compliment her on her nails cus I was getting mine done in a few days. Anyway, I ate my food in peace before going my Target run. their portions are huge too, I saved some for my hubby and he liked it too, but he's not too picky unless there's cilantro in it.

Yelp
I used to order on the Rainbow side. This place is close to home so I give it a shot. It's not bad at all same as the other restaurant on Rainbow. The food was good big serving, and the service was good.

Yelp
Hawaiian barbecue in general is something that I've been wanting to try for sometime now. I eventually decided on Ohana Hawaiian BBQ because of their good reviews. The chicken was good even though it wasn't the most flavorful and some parts of the pork was a little too fatty for my liking. But overall I would have to say the meal as a whole was pretty enjoyable. Most of all was the macaroni salad. Which I'm pretty picky about but theirs taste great. The menu is pretty extensive & I look forward to trying out some of their other dishes on my next visit.

Yelp
Mood - Uhm I wasn't aware I'm always in the mood for food. Even if I'm full I won't say no. This particular adventure I noticed Soup Dumplings aka XLB on the menu. I had to have them. This was that piece of Happiness that you sometimes have to grab just for yourself. Upon entering was quickly greeted and ushered over to a table. Menus were given and drink order was taken. Opted for the Soup Dumplings large of course, Spam Fried Rice, Mac Salad, Crispy Gau Gee, & Passionfruit Tea. I was honestly surprised. However I will admit the highlight was that Crispy Gau Gee. I took the remainder and finished that as my late night snack. Interior is separated between 2 restaurants. One is the Noodle side while the other is the Hawaiian BBQ side. It is decent in size. Several seating arrangements. It was really busy as patrons were coming in and out. There was a television playing. Would def recommend- pricing was reasonable for the portions and quality The customer service was very courteous and hospitable. My table was checked on continually Location is Blue Diamond/ Arville- ample parking

Yelp
I think this is definitely going to be my husband & I's new favorite spot for food. It's a bit of a drive away from us, across town, but so far from our first two visits, it's so worth it. We dined in on our first visit and went for to-go on our second. The place itself is a little confusing to me. There's two sides to the place, left side is table service, and the right side is like a fast casual togo counter, where they ask you "here or to go", and refer you to their self service station. So I suppose it's whatever you prefer! I believe the menu and pricing is the same on both sides. We had a stroller when we came and dined in. The restaurant is a little tight in space, but they found a way to make it work. The service was very friendly and attentive! Food came out decently quick and we were so impressed by everything. We loved the passion fruit tea! It was unlike any tea we've tried anywhere. And free refills? I could sit there all day and drink that. Lol. The HK Wonton Noodle soup was delicious, loved the flavor of the broth with a little chili oil. The wontons themselves were great, you could easily taste both the pork and shrimp. Noodles were thin and tangled up together pretty well, it was a little hard to eat but still had the best flavor. I loved the bbq chicken musubi! We loved our meals so much that we came back a couple days later for takeout. My husband loved his meal so much that he ordered the same thing. I went for the regular size Hawaiian bbq chicken plate. Forgot to take a photo. But it was three chicken thighs pounded flat with lots of sauce and grilled to perfection! I added lots of their teriyaki sauce all over it and I loved every bite. We will definitely be coming here much more often!

Yelp
Local, Hawaiian comfort food served quickly and with the warmth of the islands. Serving Coca Cola products to pair with the plate lunches would be food & beverage heaven for me, but I won't turn away their wide array of Hawaiian Sun juices.

Yelp
Good Crispy Gau Gee in the place to be. Big Pieces and tasty with side of hot mustard

Yelp
Was in the area for an appointment and got hungry. Was in the mood for some Hawaii flavor food so I stopped in. 2 plates and a drink average $36, not bad. We got the BBQ plate with kal-bi and chicken, rice and Mac salad and a Kimchee fried rice. I've been on the search for kitchen fried rice and this is the spot. Satisfied my craving and will definitely be back again. Food was as expected and did not disappoint, location is far from my home so ill have to check out a closer establishment, service was quick and efficient. Great for large groups or bigger families, ample seating and order and pick up at the counter. If you haven't tried this place, it's a must stop.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised when we came here unexpectedly. We were actually just picking up ice cream from Baskin Robbins, but we decided to check this place out since it was just right next door. When we walked in, aromas were already wafting tantalizingly through the air. The restaurant was crowded on the day before Christmas Eve. So many people were dining in or grabbing take out. After eating here, I can see why. We took a look at the menu and were bombarded with choices. But ultimately we ordered a mix of Chinese and Hawaiian - seafood platter with all mac salad, bbq chicken with all mac salad, chicken katsu with all mac salad, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper pork, and Mongolian beef. So my old favorite place for Hawaiian was Island Flavor, but they've changed over the years in terms of quality. This Ohana might be a new favorite. All the Hawaiian food was delicious. And I liked that they allowed all mac salad without upcharging, unlike Island Flavor. The bbq chicken was on point. I've had better chicken katsu, but it was passable. They were generous enough to give 2 helpings of katsu sauce when asked. The seafood platter's fried fish was a surprising hit. I thought the shrimp and scallops were overly fried and overly breaded, but they were okay. It came with a really yummy tartar sauce. The Chinese food was also surprisingly good. The honey walnut shrimp and Mongolian beef were pretty good. I could've done away with the salt and pepper pork. And the Chinese food came with generous portions of white rice. So more reason to get all mac salad for the Hawaiian food. In sum - I guess the overall takeaway was that the deep fried foods for the most part were just okay, but not bad. Portions were huge. The restaurant is generous with their food and sauces. Service is great. I would come back.

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant was typical fast food restaurant. But they due have some cool painting on the wall. It is split with a Asian noodle house. (Not sure if same owners ), so there is a divide in the two which is kind of weird. That being said. The service was great no issue there . The one taking orders were very helpful, knowledgeable of the menu. Gave us time to make the selections, and polite very friendly. The food was great no issue with anything we ordered. We ordered a bbq mix combo which came with short ribs, Hawaiian bbq beef and chicken two scoops of white rice and macaroni salad on a bed of cabbage. All the meats are super tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist and full of flavor My friend ordered the seafood and bbq combo. Which has breaded shrimp, fish filet, and short ribs ( you have a choice chicken, Hawaiian bbq or short ribs ) and come with sides if macaroni salad and white rice on cabbage. I had a Thai tea with boba to drink. The boba was super fresh and warm and the Thai tea had a great taste to it. The restraint was busy with people picking up there order not many people eating in the restaurant though. The restroom were super clean and smelled nice. The location is in a strip mall so plenty of parking

Yelp
Ordered food that never showed up. Still was charged on my debit card. I tried to call and they didn't answer the phone

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food! We will definitely be back to try more menu items when we come back to Las Vegas.

Yelp
Originally discovered this restaurant last August. We liked it so much, we came back when we returned to Vegas for a mini-vacay. It's officially on our list of restaurants we go to when we're in Vegas. I ordered the Laulau and Kalua Pork plate which comes with Hawaiian mac salad. Bf ordered the Loco Moco plate. He dove into his food before I could take a pic. These two are our benchmarks for Hawaiian restaurants. If they don't get these right, we don't come back. The Laulau usually has a piece of fat. The Laulau here was meaty and had one small piece of fat. Been to places where there's a big chunk of fat and little pork. We don't go there anymore. Good amount of taro leaves. The Kalua Pork had bigger chunks of cabbage than I would like, but still good. Bf said the Loco Moco was good and he would order it again. The prices are reasonable and portions are huge. My bf's daughter ate my leftovers. It was the first time she had Laulau and Kalua Pork. She liked them so much, she went to the restaurant and ordered her own plate before driving back to San Diego.

Yelp
My daughter wanted Ohana's so we went here for Sunday brunch. Portions are big! And its family style if you order the Chinese dishes. Very flavorful and tasty. I found the place that makes calamari the best! Yes yes we will surely be back again. We didn't finish any of the dishes we ordered, so we will take home the rest to enjoy!! Mahalo nui!!

Yelp
BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD IN VEGAS Staff is extremely friendly, the food came out quick, and everything tasted AMAZING. We ordered chicken katsu which came out hot and fresh. It was crispy, came with sauce, and was excellent quality. We also ordered the BBQ plate. Every piece of meat had a unique flavor and texture. The rice and Mac salad was also very delicious. We will be coming back. Thank you!

Yelp
Finding fried rice at a Hawaiian restaurant was like finding a rare gem amongst a bowl full of gems. Some of the best fried rice since my childhood. The beef fried rice was my pick. Try them all depending on your taste buds. A must try

Erica M.

Yelp
I have heard great things about this place and really wanted to love it, but it was just ok. I ordered take out and the ladies at the front were very pleasant. The menu is large. I ordered Kung Pao chicken, Manapua, and some Mac Salad. The Manapua came with 4 large pieces. My son said it was too much dough, but I thought they were made nicely. The pork inside was pretty dry so these were just ok. The Mac Salad was just ok, but a generous portion. The Kung Pao Chicken was not good. It was made with a strange array of vegetables, green bell peppers, which is standard for this dish, but then mini corn, mushrooms, and celery (???). Also, it wasn't really spicy. I waited a reasonable time for the order, about 14 minutes. The place was clean. Since the food wasn't that good, I probably won't visit again.

Yelp
Really good spot, service is quick ordering to go , the ladies working there are really nice , I usually just get their calamari , Mongolian beef , always made fresh n delicious!!

Yelp
8/18/21 After the long drive from the SF Bay Area, we had a late lunch at Ohana. They have a huge selection of Hawaiian favorites and Chinese Food. We ordered: Chicken Katsu, Loco Moco and the Pork Belly Buns. Everything was made to order, delicious and generously portioned. Staff was friendly too. Our new go to place!

Janeesha J.

Yelp
I don't post reviews often as I am fully aware of the potential effect it has on a small business. However this place was so lacking in customer service I can't help but post. When my partner and I made our orders we had high hopes for the food! We ordered 2 mixed plates with katsu and bbq short ribs - seems simple enough. But not only did they serve 3 other orders ahead of us, the women at the front (teenagers I'm assuming from their lack of customer service and dirty looks ) were supremely rude when I asked why we weren't being served immediately. When asked for their name they simply threw a plastic bag at me and said "Tweedy". I can't help but also mention that I was the only black person in the restaurant at the time. It felt like an intentional profiling of a black couple which was hurtful and degrading. TLDR; Racist and rude staff - save your money if you're not of lighter complexion ‍

Yelp
If your family and/or friends are craving different types of food, this is the place to go. They have Asian, Hawaiian, and American. We got rangoons for appetizer and my family and I devoured that. I got one of their popular dishes called BBQ Mixed Combo. It is sooooo so good! If you're not sure what to get, I highly recommend getting that. My husband got the burger. And my two little girls got the spam fried rice. For drinks, I got the Thai iced tea and it was so refreshing. My husband and the girls got their variety of canned drinks. The staff are very friendly and our food came out fairly quickly. The place is small but big enough for groups and it is quaint with lots of parking spaces.

Mark Y.

Yelp
I had high hopes that this would be good, but unfortunately, it was gross. The BBQ Combo meats were the worst cuts possible. The ribs were dry, chewy, and full of grizzle. The beef was also full of grizzle and chewy. How you mess up chicken, I don't know, but it was stringy with no taste. I would not bother spending your money here.
google avatar

Lina T.

Yelp
The food is good. If you need your quick Hawaiian fix order here. I've experienced a few bad rice plates and this only happened when I ordered to go. I've dined in & ordered pickup. The inside looks basic. It could use some updating. The girls there are always so nice and welcoming.

Junny K.

Yelp
I had the garlic, shrimp and barbecue chicken. The portions was a lot, but the taste and the presentation was not good.
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
This is my favorite post leg day go to. The chicken is tender, juicy and premartinated. They give hardy portions and I couldn't be happier for the price. The staff is friendly and quick service :) They gave me extra sauces on the side with my to go order and will definitely be returning

Malia K.

Yelp
Shari was incredible in helping us decide what to get. We told her what we wanted and asked what she thought about other items on the menu and she was so honest and gave us great recommendations. The food was amazing! However, It was Shari who made our experience as great as it was.
google avatar

Mandy T.

Yelp
The girls upfront are always really nice and picking up my food is always so fast and easy. The staff was running behind and the lady up front felt bad and gave me a free smoothie. The service is amazing here!
google avatar

Yelp
Always delicious Fast service and great food! They have been pretty consistent in taste and quality of ingredients! Def one of our local favorites!!
google avatar

Juvy Ann T.

Yelp
Oxtail soup superb. Staffs are very friendly. Ordered fried rice authentic Ohana style cooked fresh for you. They have 2 dining options one like a fast food style and one sit down seating. I love the place and service.

Brandi S.

Yelp
Yum yum yum!! Very good authentic Hawaiian food. Delicious mac salad and tempura shrimp. The dipping sauce for shrimp was very pineapple tasting! Cute little place with great, friendly and fast service. Just weird how there is another restaurant (Noodles) that seems like the same place but is separate. Strange, I don't get it, but I'd like to try that too. Don't make the mistake of ordering and sitting on the wrong side. My bad!!

Yelp
I just love this place. Today we are having Chicken Lo Mein and Mongolian Beef. This place is close to the freeway on-ramp to go to highway the airport. I will be heading there after a late lunch. The seating is ample and very comfortable. The staff is attentive without being obtrusive. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions given.
