I recently dined at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ and overall, I had a pleasant experience. As others have mentioned, the staff was somewhat helpful, but I found them to be super nice and thoughtful.
One thing that struck me about this restaurant is that it has two sides - one side is more of a sit-down restaurant while the other has a fast food vibe but still provides tables and chairs. It was a bit strange, but it didn't affect my dining experience too much.
One highlight for me was that they had working fountain machines, which is always a plus. The tea was pretty good, and I was also impressed by their teriyaki sauce - it had a great flavor.
Now, onto the food. I couldn't resist trying their Chicken Katsu, and I was not disappointed. It was a generous portion, enough to share with three people. The rice was cooked perfectly, and I even got an extra scoop because I opted out of the macaroni salad (which, by the way, I never really liked even when I lived in Hawaii). I know, I know, it's a personal preference. The Katsu sauce was also excellent, and I enjoyed dipping my chicken slices in it.
As a first-time visitor, I did enjoy the overall experience at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ. I would definitely go back to try something different from their menu. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend stopping by - you won't be disappointed. The casual atmosphere adds to the relaxed dining experience.
