Our stay at Ohla Barcelona was nothing short of magical. My husband and I were traveling with our two young daughters, and from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. Their warmth, kindness, and attentiveness went above and beyond, we were truly cared for in every way. The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the rooftop views are breathtaking. One of the biggest surprises was the breakfast. I usually love trying local cafés, but I refused to leave because it was that good. Incredible food, fresh, elegant, and truly first-class. If you are traveling with children I recommend reserving the family suite which gave our kids their own space while still feeling safe. Ohla gave us more than just a place to stay, it gave us memories we’ll cherish. We can’t wait to return. Highly, highly recommend.

My husband and I have been in eight countries in 13 months and our stay at Ohla Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter was a definite highlight. Within a couple minutes of check in we were enjoying complimentary cava, and being assured that if we needed any help with planning they would be there. Our room was the stunning junior suite deluxe as a result of an unexpected upgrade. The bed was comfortable, the view was spectacular and the AC was pumping. The rooftop bar area is beautiful and has spectacular views of the city.|The staff were all very friendly and patient, and kind and the breakfast was out of this world. housekeeping kept our room tidy and stocked with water, tea and coffee, and left chocolates as part of the turndown service.|I hope we get the chance to stay at this lovely hotel again. We even tried to extend our stay, but it just wasn’t in the cards due to flight constraints. The concierge even made sure that we had some sandwiches to go since we were checking out early in the morning.|I feel like if I had asked them to ship me a plate of Iberico ham and cheese and a bottle of cava NOW, it might not even be out of the question. A truly wonderful place. HIGHLY recommend. many thanks to all the wonderful staff who made our first trip to Barcelona special.

Google
This is a great hotel, well positioned just off the main street . It has a great rooftop bar and pool that is private during the day, although it is quite exposed to wind sometimes so the cabanas are best. The staff are really friendly and have great personality and humour. Great!

I spent 5 days with my family in this wonderful hotel. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Every day we received a little attention in the room, for example some sweets, which we really liked. The rooms were very clean, they cleaned twice every day and changed the towels. The location of the hotel is excellent, almost all attractions are within walking distance. The "Roof top" provided a wonderful view during the evening toasts at the bar. I highly recommend the hotel, we had a great time.

Google
Superb hotel. Couldn't fault anything. ALL staff from front desk, restaurant to room cleaning faultless. Front desk concierge (both of them!) Fantastic. No hard sell and happy to listen to what was good so they can recommend. Highly recommended for everything!

My husband and I would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at the hotel for their warm hospitality. A special mention goes to Andrea for her exceptional care throughout our stay. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine dedication to making us feel comfortable truly stood out. Our experience was made all the more memorable because of the thoughtful and attentive service we received. Thank you all for making our stay at Ohla Barcelona so special!!! We highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location! Our suite was spotless and spacious, with a nice view, the staff was helpful and welcoming, the rooftop pool was an absolute bliss, and dinner in Caelis beyond memorable! Could not imagine a better place to stay on a visit to Barcelona!

Google
By far one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had!! When I tell you the staff goes above and beyond, I truly mean it. Every single person we’ve worked with at this hotel is beyond amazing. The rooms are great, the beds are comfy, the food is amazing, the rooftop is unbelievable and the staff have enhanced our stay in Barcelona tenfold. Can’t wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Great Start To Our Annual Vacation..... Before leaving on an 11 day cruise from Barcelona to Lisbon, we stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Ohla Barcelona. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: - Location is excellent along Via Laeitana a few blocks from an entrance to the Gothic Quarter. - The hotel is gorgeous both inside and out - Our room was one step above a Junior Suite on the 4th floor overlooking Via Laietana. It was spacious and well appointed with one of the most comfortable beds we've experienced. Ask for the Egyptian sheets. Shower had a rainwater fixture with a nice strong water pressure. TV had a ton of channels, but most were in Spanish. - Reception staff was always helpful with a smile...except for one gentleman. Javi, the main Concierge, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Zak, the doorman, could not have been more friendly and helpful, especially during the check out process. - Housekeeping was generally fine, although the room was cleaned at somewhat different times during our 5 night stay. See cons below. - Breakfast buffet was great. It offered a wide range of excellently prepared items and we never left hungry. In fact, just the opposite. - Dinner in the Michelin starred Caelis restaurant was other-worldly (see separate review) Cons: - Housekeeping was quite good, but the carpeted part was not vacuumed twice and turndown service occurred on 2 of 5 evenings. - The lunch experience in the same room as breakfast was good, but not quite up to par with everything else. Overall, Hotel Ohla Barcelona deserves the 5 stars most reviewers give it.

Yelp
Beautiful property and the best service I have ever experienced at a hotel! From the moment you enter, you are treated like royalty by the hotel staff. The attention to detail and amenities leave you wanting for nothing. Had a beautiful lunch in their tapas restaurant and enjoyed relaxing on the beautiful rooftop pool area. If ever in Barcelona again, we will definitely return!

Yelp
This hotel is located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, offering a convenient location for discovering various attractions all within walking distance and several shopping options. Our first stay at this hotel turned out to be a great choice. It all began with a warm welcome, complimentary glasses of Cava at the rooftop bar, and a nice spacious room. The staff was very helpful and courteous throughout our stay. The hotel provides an extensive breakfast selection, but the real gem is the rooftop pool and bar, one of the best in Barcelona. It's an ideal spot to relax after a day of city adventures, whether for a leisurely drink or a spot to unwind later in the day.

Yelp
Keep in mind, the culture in Barcelona is different than here in the States and therefore, the reviews from our perspective may be a bit "off". In any event, overall I think they really tried to provide 5 star class hotel service. There were some employees who were great and others not so much. Excellent location as well! Right in the Gothic Quarter. Nice Health and Wellness area. The roof top pool and bar was really great! The prices at the rooftop bar will a bit high especially for the food, however, the restaurant that serves the complimentary breakfast was fantastic! What a great spread! I would definitely stay here again. The only odd thing was the bathroom. There is a "secret" door to get to the toilet. God forbid the handle breaks when you are in there otherwise you'd be stuck! Complimentary all you drink bottled water which they will deliver to your room.

Yelp
This place is such a great stay right near the gothic quarter and a wall away from so many great restaurants, shops, and landmarks. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean. They also have a great rooftop bar as well as some good dining options. Will 100% be staying here again during my next visit.

Yelp
what a wonderful experience. the whole staff was a gem to us and treated us very well. the concierge and bellman made us feel safe and took really good care of us and even packed us breakfast for our long journey home. the hotel is situated in a very good location within walking distance to gran via and shops, the mercat, sights like the arc de triumph, great restaurants. Definitely will book again when im in barcelona. one negative is the rooftop bar is upstairs with a lot of people hanging out up there.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Our first trip to Barcelona was only as great as it was because of Ohla. A must stay if you are interested in diving into the Gothic Quarters or want a mid point between basically every attraction you will want to see. Less than 10 minutes with taxi to all of our spots. Thank you Ohla staff, we will be back!

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel for a week last week for a job. I enjoyed the location and the concierge desk was helpful and friendly. My problem is with the cleaning staff who had "sticky fingers" while tending my room. When I told the Front desk, I was dismissed and given poor excuses. This left a very bad taste with my overall experience. It is unfortunate because everyone else was very nice to me and my other travel associates. While I do realize that partially it is my fault because I did not put my money in a safe, I also felt my belongings were secure because this is a 5 star hotel. To add to my frustration, when I got back home my credit card had 3 unapproved charges. Mind you, I made sure I didn't eat nor drink (even the free bottled water) from the room for any charges. I have since left 4 emails to the front end manager, Jorge Biedma, about these charges and I am still waiting (5 days later). It's such a shame because the hotel is nice and their other location in Eixample is lovely but they need to really work on their customer service. Stay away if you want your personal items to be secure and be treated properly!

Laurel L.

Yelp
Don't hesitate choosing this hotel! The location in the Gothic District is perfection. Close to everything you want to see in Barcelona. Super central but quiet at the same time. Hand held check in with drink offered. The staff were friendly, responded immediately to any request we had and there were so many of them. I noticed that a lot of people worked at the hotel which was probably why they could give such good service. The room we stayed in was very modern, clean and nice. Maid service and turn down every night. We were in room 208 which is a lovely corner one, so sunny, lots of windows and still quiet! Neat rooftop with lovely view. Buffet breakfast was okay and the only thing I think could be improved upon Stayed in July 2022 and highly recommend!

Yelp
Solid two stars for the location which is awesome! However a couple things that left an unpleasant taste. When your traveling to a foreign city you tend to rely on your hotel to give you reliable unbiased information. This was not the case with this concierge desk who seemed to send us to tourist traps from whom I suspect they were getting kick backs.

Yelp
As far as luxury hotels go in Spain (compare to the Westin Madrid; Alfonzo Sevilla), we felt Ohla provided the highest general standards (i.e. functional A/C - once I figured how to disable the auto-off preset, general cleanliness, chill ambience), although the awkward bathroom and shower configuration and absence of stair lighting exhibit ill-conceived design. Central location, with a tranquil rooftop getaway, and chill breakfast setup. Smaller and less bustling than group tour oriented hotels. The massive rock fracture in the glass door entry -- no one appeared to notice or care?
google avatar

Tina J.

Yelp
Great location, poorly designed for the layout of the rooms . No privacy for taking a shower and the bathroom is closed in with no fan which makes no sense to me. Otherwise helpful staff with painfully slow elevators.

Yelp
In 12 hours- this is what I found: Pros: Great location; nice rooms; friendly check-in staff and concierge. Cons: The rest of the staff at this hotel (Restaurante La Plasshola, Ohla Chillout Terrace) provide some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. This includes: turning us away at 11:15pm from an empty restaurant when the kitchen closes at 12am and not providing any alternatives; telling me to "Leave!" the rooftop terrace when I asked if I could take a photo of the skyline one minute before the bar closed; staff pretending not to speak English just so they don't have to help you; ordering food at the pool the next day and being charged double what was listed on the menu; waiting to order for 10 minutes from the hotel pool bar and being skipped over for girls in bikinis; no sunbeds on the rooftop deck to tan on during the day. The fact that they call this a 5-star experience is embarrassing for Barcelona. There are too many other cool hotels in Barcelona to subject yourself to this.

Yelp
Excellent hotel in a central location with some of the most helpful staff/concierge I've come across.

Yelp
Excellent Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful from the second we walked in. The best thing about it was the concierge. They took so much time to recommend places. They told us which areas to avoid and where not to go eat because the quality of the food might not be so good. They would give us maps and guide us on the best ways to get to places. They booked for us (at no additional charge) a tour to Monserrat and a Flamenco Show upon our request. The breakfast was good - it had a nice variety of things. The location of this hotel is perfect. Its a few steps from the Gothic Quarter (where you can find Barcelona Cathedral), walking distance from Las Ramblas, and El born neighborhood (where you can find the better quality food restaurants). It was a 20 minute cab ride from airport (~30 Euros), and a 15 minute drive to Comp Nou (~20 Euros). We walked to Barceloneta (the waterfront area) but its a far walk. The cab ride back from there was 5 Euros. Also, the hotel is very modern and comfortable. We stayed in the design room and it was a comfortable size. It does have a glass shower in the middle of the room which was really unique. The actual shower was AMAZING. I went in the winter so the hotel pool was not functioning. However, you can still go to the rooftop and enjoy and nice view.

Yelp
Getting exactly what we paid for, a win win. The staff was accommodating on arrival and has been helpful throughout. I am a little picky and still feel the rooms are well maintained clean and have a soft, open, modern feel. The towels and linens are at the quality you would expect, soft, and plush. The only room they could give us was on the 2nd floor, I was concerned over the street noise, being on a busier side of the street, yet the Windows provided adequate soundproofing and had blackout shades. Bravo.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible and embarrassing experience and with this 5 STARS hotel. I have booked the room on Priceline.com for the total of $270 for one night. The reservation was for February 24th 2019. We had a Priceline.com confirmation with booking number and Ohla hotel confirmation number. The room was fully paid for with credit card. When we arrived at Ohla hotel at about 1:30 pm to check in, the person at the front desk said that hotel has no reservation for us. The front desk manager Jorge Biedma came and he actually was very nice and sweet, but also said that hotel has no reservation for us and hotel sold out completely - so no rooms available and he can't help us. I was about to believe that it's a technical mistake or computer error, but when Mr. Biedma said that he never heard about PRICELINE.COM I realized that he is lying! Can any one believed that a hotel manager at 5 stars hotel in Barcelona doesn't know about PRICELINE.COM !!!??? They obviously sold our reserved room for higher price - it was the time of 2019 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and the prices for the hotels went sky high! He said that we need to find another hotel and leave the property. But all hotels in the center of Barcelona were sold out or we had to to pay around $1500-2000 per night! I went on line from my own computer end up find some other (not very nice) hotel far away from the city center - but I had no choice. Our day was ruined! Our planes were ruined! And I have never been so embarrassed in my life! Is that how 5 stars Ohla hotel in Barcelona treated guests?! It's a shame! I hope this review would help other people to make smart decision and avoid this hotel at any cost!

Yelp
5 Star hotel with a 5 Star approach. Recommend. Great service, great room. Great rooftop pool and bar. Will be back! Thanks for making our trip to Barcelona so special.

Margery L.

Yelp
Great location, no problem with noise. Walking distance to all. They upgraded our room and greeted us with warmth. Best of all was the Concierge Dept (yes, department!). They have an entire group of staff members who can advise you on where to go, eat, what to see, transportation, advice about the city, purchase tickets and make arrangements etc. Exceptional service which made all the difference for our trip to Barcelona!

Yelp
This was one of the nicest places I've every been. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff was as nice as could be; anything we asked for was done promptly and efficiently. The concierge desk was great on days we wanted to wander and see where things took us. Breakfast was great 4 or 5 main courses plus a buffet a breads and fruit.. The location was perfect centrally located

Yelp
There are many reasons why this a 5 star hotel. First of all they offer you a glass of cava while you are checking into the hotel, secondly they have CONDITIONER (of all the 5 hotels we stayed in Europe this was the only hotel that had conditioner) 3. They have one of the best mixologists in the world (my opinion) it was so much fun watching them prepare our drinks and the outcome was magnificent 4. a beautiful rooftop pool that overlooks the city and where you can relax and have a cocktail or go for a nice swim (both day and night are so pretty)5. Good variety of breakfast options, 6. Super friendly staff, 7. Black out curtains, 8. Rainfall shower and 9. They gave us a free bottle of champagne because it was our 3-year anniversary. How sweet!

Yelp
First visit to Barcelona on September 11, 2018 and selected Hotel Ohla based on it's great reviews. We traveled with friends and suggested they book here as well, and we all were more than delighted with our stay here. The first impression of the hotel was at check in, which was incredibly intimate and personal. A one on one, sit down check in service where we were offered cool hand towels, something to drink, and our luggage was quickly ushered up to our rooms. Check in was at 3:00 pm, but they allowed us into our rooms upon arrival at 9:00 am so we did not have to wait (rarely if ever happens at any hotel). The management (Javier) was incredible and provided us with1st class assistance. From our first day to our last day, the entire hotel staff was personable, professional, so very helpful with every need we had from taxi's, dinner reservations, tourist suggestions, etc. The hotel - Gorgeous, boutique hotel. Decor is spotless and modern. Our room was a junior suite and had a fabulous view from the 5th floor of the city below. It was quiet and serene and very relaxing. There was more than ample space in the room which was simply but elegantly decorated. The bath area was immaculate and very high end. Loved it. They provide you with a "handy phone" to use in the city! We used its GPS mapping to navigate the city AND all calls to the U.S (and many other countries) were free. Greatest feature offered ever! We had drinks on the roof top which is beautifully furnished with many small tables, cabanas, and a beautiful pool (they provided the first 2 glasses of Cava complimentary). Had a buffet type breakfast each morning in their dining room which was perfect. The location of this hotel is in the Gothic District which is in my opinion, the most beautiful part of the city. We were central to everything we could want to see. Great shopping from high end stores to knick knack kiosks, many, many restaurants to choose from including lots of Tapas bars. This hotel is in an ideal location and could not have been more perfect for a first trip to Barcelona (or for a repeat trip as well!) You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Service is premier as is the quality of the hotel. Thank you to the staff of Hotel Ohla for providing us with such a great experience in your city.

Yelp
The bar on top of the hotel has an amazing view! It was nice to have a glass of wine with that view!

Yelp
Awful experience even before going there !! They confirmed me a booking for 2 rooms over the phone last week... I only had to confirm by email, which I did immediately. No one came back to me, so I had to ask twice for a response . Then I got the news that only one room was still available at a higher rate... I was quite shocked as availability was already low at the requested dates . No apologies nothing , just the statement "they could not find back my reservation and I must have booked in their other hotel in Eixample". As if I am an idiot .... After a few days their sister hotel Ohla Eixample offered me one room (I need two)... But when i responded about my need for 2 rooms, again no response. I asked again please respond as the availability in Barcelona is almost zero at a normal price... Until now still no response . Very client unfriendly, very rude, bad policy by making me believe I had made a booking over the phone without giving me any further details and then setting me up with a higher rate for a room I don't need. Don't go to this hotel , believe me . I am a regular visitor in Barcelona and this is the worst experience until now ! I think a hostel gives better service
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, very nice and stylish rooms, and lots of amenities that take it above and beyond even what you expect for the somewhat high price you pay. We received some cava upon check-in, and the breakfast buffet was adequate (very convenient and a few types of coffee, but nothing remarkable in the way of food). However, as far as rooms, staff and location, I was very much pleased.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin! Hotel Ohla was the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed at. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our Honeymoon and couldn't have had a better experience anywhere else. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and adds a classical but modern touch to the Gothic District. When we arrived in the morning they stored out stuff as we toured around the city before check-in. When we got back to the hotel they upgraded our room and gave us champagne to celebrate our Honeymoon. The room was SO clean and so beautifully designed. We ate at their restaurant Sauc which was absolutely lifechanging and without a doubt the best meal and service we ever had. The mixologist that works at the hotel bar is a MASTER and if you don't get a drink at this hotel you are not experiencing Barcelona at its finest. Even if you don't like Gin please get a Bloomsberry Fizz. Breakfast at the hotel is also INCREDIBLE and an extroadinary way to start your day. We couldn't believe it was also included in our stay. The rooftop bar is magnificent - pictures do not do it justice. The pool area is beautiful, the service is incredible and it's a perfect view of the whole city and all the surrounding areas. To top off all the amenities that Ohla has to offer, the staff is so pleasant and so helpful. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and navigate the city for our first time in Barcelona. I can't recommend this place enough and I know the next time we're in the city, we are not even looking for another hotel. We are staying at Ohla!

Yelp
Dirty bathroom. Cobwebs by sink. Stained toilet seat. Inside toilet bowl stuck on feces. Gross!
