Where To Grab Lunch In The City - London - The Infatuation

"It’s only 11am and you’ve already fallen asleep at your desk. Twice. The tom yum soup at Oie Thai is a dead cert to wake you up, and at £6, it’s also the kind of thing you can look forward to eating regularly. This Thai cafe is easily identified by the massive queue that blocks Liverpool Street arcade each day at lunchtime, but don’t be put off, as it moves quickly and their staff will take your order in the queue to save you a few minutes." - oliver feldman, jake missing, david paw

Extremely disappointed. It took nearly 30 minutes for a Chicken Pad Thai, that had very little flavour and questionable grey looking chicken. The portion size was large but unfortunately I don't think that warrants the cost when the quality and taste is poor.

Baffled by the average review score here. Get yourself a rice ball salad (preferably red pork) - top drawer lunch. Made fresh with a crazy mix of spicy, salty, acid, and unmani flavours. Warning, it is quite spicy and thai spice hits.

Had lunch here today. Great place. Ordering can feel a little disorganised at times. A numbering system wouldn’t go a miss but to be honest the food comes out so quickly it’s not an issue. It’s all takeaway, no eating in. They do a strong range of Thai food. All the favourites which Uk people tend to like. I went for King Prawn Pad Thai. My colleague went for Massaman curry and it was “very good” but he said he would’ve liked a bit more curry to go with the rice. My portion was spot on. Mine tasted really great! Had a good level of spice. Was cooked through nicely and had good layers of texture throughout the dish. I paid just less than a tenner. Would and will definitely go again.

The chicken pieces in the green curry were huge—too large to manage without proper cutlery, which they didn’t provide. To make matters worse, the chicken was slightly undercooked in the middle. As someone who usually goes for vegetarian or tofu options when trying new places, I was disappointed to see only Pad Thai as a suitable vegetarian choice on the menu. Overall, not a great experience.

It has been my favourite place for lunch since they re-open. As they said on the wall, the food is authentic and delicious! Green curry chicken rice always sold out; when I had a chance to get it, the curry seemed a bit oily and too spicy for me. But Tom Yum Noodle and Massaman Curry I have had for a few time, it tastes really good.

Come here for takeaway lunch many times, they do an excellent pad Thai among other authentic Thai dishes - just under a tenner which is good value for the area and the portion size (bigger than the pic makes it look...)

Awful quality food. I ordered the pad krapow and quite easily say it’s the worst I’ve ever had. The cheapest chicken you could possibly buy, very dry. No flavour to it whatsoever. Lots of chilli and that’s about it. The typical western take on eastern food - “maybe if we cover it in chillis, it will hide the fact it’s the blandest food”. £7.50 for a portion which isn’t unreasonable in London. But not worth it, definitely give it a miss.

One of the worst pad Thai’s I’ve had. The noodles were either undercooked or precooked (bad texture) and the chicken looked really unappetising. Wouldn’t go back.
