"I count Donburi as one of the two favorites from the venue’s earlier lineup that remain part of the market." - Candice Woo

What a cool little spot! As soon as you walk in your greeted by the best smells. The unagi bowl comes with a legit full flank of eel and the pickled veggies are so bright and crisp. Definitely worth a journey into the city.

This Lawrenceville treasure really satisfies in more than one department. Their food is fresh, consistent, flavorful, and satiating. Service is far about the average expectation, professional, and quick. The atmosphere trends on the smaller side, but is most certainly not a deal breaker. In the warmer months, the personal outside seating is a real pleasure. Unless restrictions prevent you, fear nothing on their menu. It’s all taste bud approved. This is not a place for big social gatherings, or even medium sized groups, but rather a more personal setting (a friend or two). If you’re a local, live in the surrounding area, or just passing through, my recommendation is to plan a visit.

The BEST salmon sushi style bowl I have ever had. a#1 grade sushi. best in the city currently to my knowledge. I am 58 and the atmosphere is more of a younger crowd and some of which don't know anything about Japanese/Korean food. The manager handled it all well and it was a very enjoyable visit. Very little seating inside and it was crowded but we took to go and it was amazing.

Perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner. My favorite is the tofu katsu bowl - always delicious!

Mystery date… LUNCH?! Yup. Switching it up today. Every other week I pick a restaurant and tell my wife when to be ready and how to dress but not where we are going. This week we did lunch at Oishii Donburi. I got the Bulgolgi Bimbimbab. The egg was perfectly gooey inside the beef was super tender and the veggies were packed high. The spicy Korean sauce added a nice kick and I’m glad it came on the side. I also got the Kyoza and the soy sauce it came with was smoky and so damn good. Some of the best fried dumplings I’ve had anywhere. My wife got the Bulgolgi bowl and it was incredible. The onions were so plentiful and yummy. We saw someone order the katsudon and it looked incredible we have to come back!

I was actually planning on visiting the Butterwood cafe which is right across the road for some deserts, but it was late in the night and I was hungry, so I decided to stop here without knowing what the reviews were, and I was very pleasantly surprised. They have a limited Japanese and Korean menu mostly focused around rice dishes. I got the ebi katsudon which is breaded shrimp over rice. I would like to point out though that the menu call it as shrimp tempura over rice, but in reality, tempura and katsu batter are very very different and this was a kastu. You order up at the counter, and then you can either do a takeaway, or you can grab one of the stalls, and when your food is ready, they will bring it to you. There is free barley tea which I had for the first time and honestly it wasn’t something I enjoyed. The food, however, was spectacular. I’ve had a lot of katsu in Japan, and this was pretty close. The rice was piping hot, the onions were perfectly cooked, the egg was still runny. There were four shrimps on top of the rice, and there was also some pickled ginger and radishes. It came with a soy sauce based sauce. Honestly, the rice was too much for me, and I couldn’t finish all of it. Given the quantity and the price, it’s absolutely no-brainer to go here. I will definitely be back again whenever I’m shopping in Lawrenceville.

I come here literally every single week to have the ton katsu bowl. I love it so much. My favorite food of all time now. And the man who runs the store is so sweet. He tied a man's shoes for him without even asking because he didn't want him to trip and get hurt. It reminded me how sweet humans can be. The food is always so good.
