The very cramped seating here takes away from the positive experience, like cattle class on a flight, and negates the otherwise semi-upscale dining atmosphere they appear to be trying to achieve. Your could easily bump elbows with your neighbor. We noticed another three parties unhappy with their tables, two who asked to be moved.
Amounts were somewhat small and made us miss Cowfish in Raleigh North Carolina, which while American-style sushi, is quite generous in portions.
Server Jackson was very good, and we know this from a prior visit as well as the most recent one.
For real Sushi you would want to go elsewhere, and there are places in the area for that, Oishi however is really for an Americanized and a Westernized take on Sushi and not very authentic, which appeals to a lot of people so is a personal choice.
For example, they used togarashi in place of tobico, and the whole concept of spicy in sushi is something you would not get in a tradition sushi restaurant. One of our group is from Japan and while grateful to have sushi while here, does not consider this anything like the real thing and more of a novelty. Kind of like American Chinese food vs the real thing.
But as long as they will pack this place the way they do, it's not the kind of dining experience for which we would care to return. But if you do, get an outdoor table for some semblance of space.
