"Picked by locals as the Best of Ojai in 2024, Ojai Noodle House serves modern Vietnamese dishes using fresh and local ingredients. For lunch or dinner, the restaurant’s evolving menu always offers complex and bold flavors: Try the lemongrass chicken Bánh Mì or newly added spicy caramel fish sauce crispy wings. Regulars know to always save room for the mango, strawberry, or pandan shaved ice." - Meaghan Clark Tiernan

I’m only giving this place a 3 star because of customer service and the ambiance. The food on the other hand, was just NOT it for me, the flavors and taste didn’t marry well with my taste buds. I believed the Pho broth to be VERY greasy, usually when I ask for chili oil I get a crunch chili oil, in this place they are very literal lol its JUST oil which took me by surprise. Nevertheless the CS was phenomenal, the ambiance was quite nice, even though you could hear cars passing by and honking at each other every other second. I would love to comeback here but i highly doubt i will. I'm grateful to live FAR from this city cause the food around there is definitely made for locals only. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this or any restaurant in Ojai so far. The restaurants I've been to in that city always lack either flavor or CS, or in some cases Both. This place was a miss for me due to the food.

Google
Just found this place in Miners Oaks and really enjoyed the food. Nice folks that were serving and did taste great. Very reasonable prices with good portions. Patio dining and puppies were welcome They serve adult beverages as well. The ube and coconut beer was great

Ojai noodle house feels like you are on a movie set. We love the ramen and their choices of beer. The fries with the aioli is super good as well. This place is a regular spot for sure. Plenty of seating in their outdoor garden patio.

Google
I've found my new go-to spot! I've dined there for both lunch and dinner, and I'm impressed by their separate menus for each mealtime. The options are delicious across the board, with every dish earning a perfect 10/10 for flavor and portion size. It's truly a unique gem in Ventura County, with fresh and vibrant flavors. After a hike, we enjoyed a perfect outdoor lunch on their patio, and for dinner, the indoor ambiance was unbeatable – beautifully decorated with a cozy yet lively vibe, including a stylish bar area. The service is exceptional, showcasing their genuine passion for what they do. Places like this are why I love living in Ventura County!

Google
This was a pleasant surprise! Yummy Vietnamese food in the heart of Ojai with sustainable ingredients. Everything from traditional and vegan Phó, vegan banh mi, to banh xeŏ. All super tasty and authentic. Outdoor and indoor seating.

Google
Truly had the best summer rolls I’ve ever eaten from here. The sauce was the perfect amount of sweet, savory, with a small kick. Also had the best vermicelli noodles with beef ever. This place is so cute and cozy on the patio. Will recommend to anyone visiting and if I come back to Ojai I will definitely be stopping here again!

Google
The service is very slow. My family waited a really long time for someone to take our order when we went there last night. They also filled my lemonade glass up to the rim. However, I thought the Banh Mi I got was delicious. It had a kick to it, but delicious nonetheless.

Google
You guys have to try this place. Beautiful exterior and interior, they have outdoor seating, perfect service attitude, and their food was absolutely delicious. I live far away in East L.A., but I came to see my grandparents so I don't have a good chance soon to go, but I would love to eat there once again even in any condition. (btw, their best item I would say is the french fries. They are thin and double-fried, absolute mindblower!)

Yelp
I was on a business trip to Ojai and craving Asian flavors and ended up eating here once a day until I left--it was that good! Coming from LA, where I eat a lot of great Asian food, I wasn't expecting to be this blown away. The flavors were bold, the ingredients incredibly fresh, and the quality was top-notch. Every dish was perfectly balanced, full of depth, and made with care. If you love authentic, flavorful Asian cuisine, this place is an absolute must-try. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Ojai! The garlic noodles, summer rolls, fried rice! Can't wait to try the pho

Yelp
Overall rating: 3.5 stars We visited over Mother's Day weekend which also coincided with a heat wave so we were glad the restaurant wasn't too busy and had indoor seating options. I honestly really wanted to love this place but it was just okay. This is all based on personal preference on these dishes. The spicy garlic noodles and kid portion of the fried rice were both on the dry side. There was nothing spicy about the garlic noodles unfortunately. The only dish that genuinely got a "mmmm" from me were the spicy wontons. Again, not spicy at all but they were really flavorful. I ended up using some of that sauce on the garlic noodles to balance out some of the dryness from them. We also got the beef banh mi. We're spoiled to have grown up close to Little Saigon in SoCal and having amazing and authentic pork banh mi sandwiches so I feel it unfair to rate others we have. My husband said he would try the burger instead next time. The garlic green beans and cucumbers had a good crunch to them. I don't know which dish it was but something made my tongue slightly numb, like when you eat a lot of pineapple. Service was okay. Nothing stellar but I won't hold it against them given the unexpected heatwave. It was nice to see a consistent flow of patrons for both sit down and take out orders. The pho smelled good so I may go back to try that and other meals.

Yelp
The service was fast and friendly. The house made fizzy drinks were delicious and the food was overall fantastic. We had the crepe with shrimp, summer rolls with shrimp, the cucumbers, pea greens and garlic noodles with chicken. The crepe and summer rolls were so delicious! The cucumbers were great and even better the next day for lunch after soaking overnight. The noodles were good- could've been a bit spicier and I would have liked some crunchy garlic chilly to add. The pea green were nice and tender. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Pretty much everything about Ojai Noodle House is an instant win. It's a comfortable space that is effortlessly inviting, especially the patio. The decor is thoughtfully considered but not fussy. The service is efficient and friendly. And the food has precise flavors that are powerful but light. Lots of veggie options on a well marked menu! The summer rolls were a strong mix of ingredients that paired well with a delicious dipping vinaigrette which is a solid departure from the typical peanut sauce. Overall it's a super welcome addition to the Ojai Valley dining scene that is a cut above other newcomers.

Yelp
I really liked this place! I split a cold noodle salad (dan?) with my dad. The raw vegetables were delicious and fresh, and since he wanted the mushroom and tofu option, they were fried and delicious with a meaty texture. I also tried a spicy Ojai pixie drink. The service was quick because we were one of the first people in there on a Sunday. The waiter/host was helpful in explaining the food and the restaurant setup. The inside of the restaurant was dark and old-style like a tavern with a huge bar, and the outside was a beautiful, comfortable patio. I'm excited we tried this restaurant and look forward to trying more food.

Yelp
***** An exceptional lunch experience on a Sunday afternoon. Started with a bright, cheery, pleasant greeting by Izzy as we entered the warm comfortable space. Leonard, behind the bar, created a nice citrus cocktail* for my wife and provided tableside service. We enjoyed a sampling of entrees and appetizers...each prepared perfectly. We'll return soon. * non - alcohol cocktail Serving beer, wine and Sake on my right now

Yelp
I got the pho beef sandwich on rye. There was only one customer before me so I was surprised to wait about 20 minutes for the sandwich. Inside seating is limited and it was noisy with the bar and music and people coming in to order at the counter. Much more spacious outdoor area. Unfortunately, the auto shop across the street was making a lot of banging noise. I moved inside to eat. My sandwich was tasty, however, the meat was unevenly heated with part of the meat actually cold. Since a small serving of broth came with it, I ended up dipping the sandwich meat in it to warm it up. The broth had a strong star anise taste. I am glad I ordered when I did because the place filled up with school kids it got really noisy and I bet the wait for ordering and getting food stretched to over 30 minutes at minimum for the newly arrived.

Justin W.

Yelp
Did not expect it to be this good. Everything we had was excellent. Pho, Bun, Lime house made soda, garlic noodles with mushroom and tofu, Bang Mi, and Egg Rolls. Good vibe. All around good quality.

Courtney A.

Yelp
Wonderful food, the pho is amazing. I usually get the smaller portion and it is so filling! The broth is very flavorful! We have gone back many times. Although it is always pretty busy!

Yelp
By far the best pho I have had in such a long time. Typically I'll order to go and enjoy at home and it tastes just as good as it would in house. I have been here multiple times and every time I'm left speechless! Great service and a nice patio to enjoy if you're dining in.

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting Ojai and wanted something healthy and delicious. This place did not disappoint. Actually, it bested my expectations. My wife had the pho and it was was delicious! Full of flavor and absolutely delightful. (I later met the owner in parking lot and learned that his mother in law is Vietnamese and helps in the kitchen). I had a flat noodle dish with chicken, and it was just as delicious as the pho. It had the perfect amount of spice. I noted some tiny, dark pink peppers (unsure what kind) that were spicy but not overwhelming. The service was great. We opted for outdoor seating. It was chilly outside and the staff was quick to light up the patio heat lamps. Dogs are welcomed as well. They have some beer and wine that I'd like to enjoy upon my next visit. Can't wait!

Yelp
Second time there. Just as good as the first. Numerous gluten free options Pho amazing Gluten free spring rolls amazing Nice indoor and outdoor seating

Yelp
I'm not sure why, but I put off trying this place for quite a while. Big mistake. The food here is quite excellent; the real deal. My wife and I split a Bahn Mi sandwich with lemongrass chicken, the summer rolls with shrimp and the noodles with tofu and mushrooms. Each dish was fabulous; carefully seasoned so as to be perfection. Each very different, each really really good. We had our food to go, but on a nice day the outdoor patio is quite nice. The best food in Ojai.

Yelp
The best tasting Phở I've ever had in my life. Nice friendly service, the owner was present in the dining room, and the ambiance, background music and food was simply delicious. Very reasonably priced, and the beer, wine and sake options were good. The only area for improvement I can think of is the Phở kit was a little sparse. I needed to ask for more basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño and hoisin. Madeline happily brought some, so still 5 stars. Just awesome. My new favorite spot in Ojai/Meiners Oaks/Oak View area. A++ Next time: banh mi!

Yelp
So happy to see this place open in Ojai. I've been twice now and had the best experience both times. It's definitely my favorite restaurant in Ojai. The vibe and ambiance remind me of Williamsburg or East LA but hidden away in our very own Meiners Oaks. The staff were so attentive and friendly, they really made me feel at home. Great music selection too. Such an incredible and welcome addition to our local neighborhood.  The first time I went I had the Banh Mi and Shoestring Fries. The Banh Mi was delicious and reminded me of the real deal in Vietnam. They nailed the simplicity and authentic taste of a real Banh Mi. The fries and homemade dipping sauce are also delicious (and the fries are made from real potatoes because I asked). I had a Sky Duster lager which worked perfectly with this dish as it was crisp and refreshing.  The second time I went I decided to dive straight into the Pho. This was honestly the best Pho I have ever had. It was fresh and had the perfect balance. The broth was just incredible. This dish alone will pull people in from all over Ventura County and LA. I had a Fort Point Yuzu beer which went with this dish perfectly.  So excited that the Ojai Noodle House is finally open and serving our local hood. You'll see me propping up the bar a few nights a week for sure :)

Yelp
I've lived in and around this town for 20 years. My biggest gripe was that if you wanted any type of food with flavor that wasn't Mexican food - you were screwed. I have driven to ventura too many times gripping the wheel with anger bc Ojai only had 3-4 casual restaurants. Everyone now complains how "LA" Ojai has become, but if it means more joints like ONH, then pave the f****g 101 freeway right through this quiet little hippy town and make it a drive through. The food was A+. The hostess was very nice (even though she looked like she graduated from the tv version of "Malibu High School 90025"). She got us a great table and told us to order the "purple beer and French fries." Are French fries traditional Vietnamese food? No. Were they delicious ? We ordered a plate and then ordered another. So as of today, French fries with spicy mayo are officially Vietnamese - incredible. The waiter told us to order the shaking beef, which I didn't see on the menu. My daughter and gf ordered the bahn Mi. Ever had a "meh" banh mi? I have. I now live in Boston where they serve food for white people who like no flavor in their food. Not this joint! It was killer, but not nearly as good as my beef dish. It was four star. We sat outside - but the inside vibe of this place made it feel like a nightclub waiting to happen but without the sh*t music. It was perfectly lit and I plan to come back and sit at the bar and hammer large asahi's and hang with the locals. I don't understand their "ph jai?" bumper sticker - but that was the only thing that didn't make sense at this great little restaurant . Two thumbs up. Five stars. I love this place.

Andrea P.

Yelp
Yes, yes, yes! This is the kind of hidden place in Ojai I adore. Just the greatest vibe. You gotta try it. Bring quarters for pacman!

Yelp
Great find. I did not expect to find a good noodle Pho place hidden in Ojai. Not better than hardcore Pho in San Diego but good and right in my backyard.

Yelp
FINALLY! An amazing restaurant comes to the main corner of Mo-town. I've been waiting years for something good to be here. Every seat was filled, and rightfully so. First, the service. Incredible. The best I've seen in Meiners Oaks. Then came the food. They aren't doing to-go food until January, which I understand. I had the pho and spicy noodles. The flavors were fantastic, just the right amount of spice and so flavorful. It came out quickly, which surprised me for the restaurant being so full...and they just opening yesterday! Prices were moderate and on point for our neighborhood. Good wine and beer offerings (I had the Chenin Blanc from Lie Dit, a personal favorite). Beautiful design, both inside and outside. I can't say enough good things. Way to go Ojai Noodle House, see you 3-5 nights a week.

Yelp
We met the owner while perusing downtown at the shops, only to get a fabulous recommendation! I had the beef pho, and it was absolutely flavorful and sensational! My friend had the flat noodles with shrimp, it had a very rich profile, I'd definitely add extra veggies to the mix. For an appetizer, we had the chili cucumber salad, which was absolutely phenomenal and refreshing! I highly recommend checking this spot out not only to support a female-owned restaurant, but for that hearty feel good post-meal vibe.

Yelp
Back again as promised to Ojai Noodle House to try some new items. We ordered the spicy garlic noodles with chicken, again, and this time there was quite a bit more spice, which we loved. We also tried the Goi Ga, Vietnamese chicken salad, which was so tasty, fresh, and flavorful, full of veggies and tossed with a ginger dressing. The Canh Ga, crispy chicken wings had an incredible flavor, as did the Pho. The Pho had all the warm spice broth, tender meat, and crispy veggies we wanted. It did not disappoint. We just adore this restaurant.

Vanessa B.

Yelp
I ordered take out and got spicy garlic noodles $12 with added shrimp $6. I was super excited based on reviews but was a little disappointed in the price I paid vs what I got. Flavor was tasty as far as garlic noods. But seemed a little dry. I kept trying to swivel it in whatever sauce I saw at the bottom. The shrimp were sliced in half which was a nice way to plate. Easier to cut and easier to have more in each bite. but they didn't seemed seasoned at all. What I didn't like was that I paid $6 bucks for like 2.5 pieces of shrimp! I saw a total of 4-ish half slices. I thought wow okay and I tried to call and see if it was a mistake but no one answered. I feel like that was overpriced and I would've returned if I dined in. Maybe that's the price of shrimp but just seemed kinda skimpy and I wouldn't order again unless I confirmed how many ahead of time. Place was packed though. Inside small so defiantly come with warm clothes to sit outside. They do have heaters. Im not in ojai a lot but i would be interested to try again. Looks like they have some other items that could be tasty. Cute little bar too. I was greeted right away when I walked in to order and to get my food to go food. Seemed friendly.

Yelp
Amazing food, service was exceptional and Ambience is delicious! Highly recommend! I drove from LA to try it. I'm definitely coming back.

Yelp
New go-to spot in the valley. They hit the trifecta: great atmosphere (especially inside); exceptional service from everyone -- including the owners, who often personally greet customers regular and new; and the food is glorious. Glorious, I tell you! The pho is as good as anything I had living in PDX for ten years, mama's recipe summer rolls (try the ones with the shrooms) are great if you want something lighter, and the egg rolls, wings, spicy wontons, and garlic noodles are all excellent. I wanted to lie and say I ate all that in one sitting, but the truth is I just keep going back. Also, the portions are super generous, so yeah, my recommendation is order a few things and take home some snacks for later! I'd include some photos, but I always forget to take them once I start smelling that pho. ‍

Yelp
Great food in a cozy booth served by a chill and friendly staff. Tried the cucumber salad first-- crunchy, sweet, & savory all at once-- a great starter. Beef pho was served in a truly glorious broth, deep with flavor, and a generous portion of tender beef. Try the popcorn chicken, too, an addictive starter. Overall, a valuable local spot with a welcoming atmosphere that shouldn't be missed!

Yelp
The Ojai Noodle "always closed when you want it" house. Too much sugar in the Pho anyways.

Herminia C.

Yelp
We have been here many tines before, had not for a couple months, things really changed. You now order at register, pay and tip. The0n u need to find a table...good luck. Then wait forever, dont even get acknowledged. No food, drinks. Would you like some water? Have to register and ask whats the problem. . To hear they forgot. Sorry.and then " oh oder mixed up" REALLY! Not happy at all. I do like the ambience, but today my mood changed. Food was good... Till i found a hair. So gross! They did refind my soup that had the hair and 1 beer. Thanks for the great service.

Chris L.

Yelp
This is my second time there. First time at 2, out of everything so I ordered the smashburger. Good quality. Brought a lunch date there at noon. They were out of beef, out of chicken.... ok. Ordered the smashburger and out came a piece of asphalt on a bun. My companion ordered a citrus salad - had to remind the server staring out the window. Itcwas of good quality. I love Ojai, supporting new restaurants. I will try once more but know to call ahead and see if i need to being my own beef and chicken.

Yelp
Waited 35 minutes for my table, this place has been on my list for stops for years and I finally made today the day. Pretty lame to wait 35 minutes, for a table to wait 20 minutes of people walking by me several times but never even a greeting or water was offered, my partner and I left after 20 minutes. We won't be back, thank you for the experience.
google avatar

Falina W.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place, maybe they just haven't worked out the kinks yet. I will definitely give them another try but probably wait a good while before I step in again. The pros: there appeared to be a TON of staff! The vibe, energy and music were great The cons: signage? Work in progress maybe I wasn't sure I was in the right place Lots of staff but not a single one acknowledged me while I stood there awkwardly wondering if I was supposed to seat myself or order first. Three guys were at the "register" tinkering with an iPad or something - not a single one acknowledging me or saying they needed just a moment or asking me if I needed a seat. Lots of additional employees behind the bar but none to help a person waiting? I left. It takes two seconds to make a customer feel welcomed, acknowledged, no matter how busy you are. Make eye contact, let them know you'll be right with them.

Yelp
Best Vietnamese cuisine in Ventura County! The spicy garlic noodles are delicious, but the staff are over the top with excellent service!

Yelp
Our sever was amazing. I think our server was Maya. She was very sweet' and attentive. Our appetizers came out at a solid time span. She was so friendly and quick to check on us without being annoying. (Give that person a raise) The food was amazing, my boyfriend had the garlic noodles with beef, my friend pat had the bon mi and he loved it. I tried the Pho and it was a bit too floral for me, and the server and management were kind enough to give me a different dish when I expressed my lack of interest in the pho. I also had the garlic noodles after and they were phenomenal. The sake is good, the fries and wings mare amazing. The location is lovely, when you're sat you feel at ease and warm. It was raining tonight and the outdoor area is tented and the sound of the rain was lovely. Again my apologies for not loving the pho, too floral for me, but so appreciative of the staff for allowing me a different meal. I'm a server as well and hate complaining but this was handled with grace.

Yelp
Mother-in-law's first time trying pho and she loved it! I thought the veggie pho was amazing. Love the selection of drinks: sake juice boxes! The summer rolls were super tasty too.

Yelp
We went on a Wednesday around 6, took about 30 minutes to get seated. It was busy. Food was really good but the downside was everything came in parts.. we got our drinks.. food came maybe another 30-40 mins later.. first the green beans...then 15 min later another app then 15 min later another... we got the last dish, the Pho 1.5 hrs after we had ordered. We agreed to try them again when it's not so busy. I hope they do well and stick around, its different and very good!

Yelp
Cool vibes. Yummy food. They have a nice patio, and a parking lot. Love the decor and the service was great.

Yelp
Poor customer service and accuracy but great food. If you use their online ordering check your order before you leave! They have managed to get ours wrong half the times we ordered ( 2 out of 4). We called to see if they would correct the issue and was told it was a "kitchen problem" and they would call the owners and get back to us. That didn't happen. Recently tried again to get resolution and was asked to hold while they looked into it and was left on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up and called back. When I tried to call back all my attempts were sent to a recording.

Matthew D.

Yelp
Came here on our annual 4th of July trip to Ojai. What a great little spot! Nice outdoor seating and some bar and booth spots inside. We had a couple of the unique beer selections which were delightful. Then on to starters. The egg rolls were on point, and the Banh Xeo was solid. Our little one is a Pho critic, and she approved of the Pho! nice. We then shared the Spicy Garlic Noodles and the special sizzling beef. Both were very flavorful. Our waiter was attentive and the food came out quickly. We will be back for sure.

Jen S.

Yelp
How can they improve??? Not spill hot soup on the customers... or don't let the new girl serve the soup... she was carrying it w one hand!! and if you do spill... clean it up and alert another staff member you need a rag... it was not cute... and not handled well... I tried to tell the girl who checked us out.. and she didn't get it or say sorry...food was ok..

Yelp
So good and intimate. Ownership and staff were so very welcoming. Loved all the noodles.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service! Friendly staff across the board! Excellent food! Gove the green beans a try (maybe ask for less oil) and request the smash burger rare! Give this place a try!
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
Hip ambience. Delicious food. Fantastic, attentive service. Highly recommend. Loved the beef pho. The summer rolls were super fresh. The mango sorbet and pear, cinnamon sorbet were out of this world. Reasonably priced. Owner Marko is the best!

Emma M.

Yelp
Everything I've had here has been so fresh and good! Probably the best take out option in Ojai. The staff is friendly and everything comes out pretty fast! Fun drink options too.
google avatar

Keith H.

Yelp
My new favorite Ojai eatery! The Bahn Mi, sausage fried rice, crispy ferrous, and the wontons were all respectively the best I've ever had. The staff are extremely attentive, and the wines and beers are a perfect match to the food. I highly recommend you check them out and they are starting a lunch service too!

Yelp
Mostly amazing, but some small tweaks would make this place a regular spot for me. First, the smell walking up to this place is magical, and the inside and patio both have their own individual cool vibe. We started with the shrimp summer rolls, which I will probably come back just for these they were soooo good. The lime fizzy was refreshing, and they were cool with making it less sweet for me. My husband ordered the garlic noodles w/beef. He loved the dish, but it's defo a vampire killer (i.e. your partner better like garlic too). I'll end with my dish and a bit of constructive criticism. I ordered the veggie pho. I had been craving pho all day, so when I took the first sip of broth I was in heaven. So rich and complex, and the noodles were perfect as well. But then I bit into the tofu and mushrooms and was sadly disappointed. The tofu was over fried, dry and rubbery - with an oily taste to it. The mushrooms weren't much better - they appear to be reconstituted dried mushroom and while the flavor is there have a dry and chewy texture. If they would improve these two elements (maybe a soft tofu option and fresh mushrooms) I would be in there every time I have a pho craving, but until then I'll stick with the summer rolls. To end on a good note I'll say that the service was spectacular.

Yelp
Came to Ojai for an overnight visit and ate here two time!!! The green beans were some of the best I have ever had!! Most highly recommend!!!

Yelp
The food at this restaurant was simply delicious. We were visiting the Ojai Valley Inn and stopped at this restaurant for dinner one night and wow! We ordered the cucumber salad, wings, garlic noodles, and the shaking beef. Each dish surpassed the one before it. Super flavorful and delicious. Can't wait to return. Our neighbors ordered pho and that smelled divine too. Special shout out to our server, Cosmo, who was so kind and attentive and made our meal even more memorable. We will be back very soon!

Asmo S.

Yelp
Wish I could rate no stars. I have never had such horrible service. After waiting half an hour for our reservation we were seated and made to wait 20 more minutes and never got a greeting or even offered water. Meanwhile other tables that were seated after us had their orders taken and even served. I don't recommend coming here if you are not a white person because you will literally be treated like you are invisible. What a disappointment.
