Ojai Roots is truly one of my favorite places in all of Ojai, and every time I visit I’m reminded why. From the moment you walk in, there’s this warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to slow down, breathe, and enjoy everything around you. Their wine selection is fantastic—thoughtfully chosen, delicious, and perfect whether you’re picking up a bottle for home or enjoying a glass on site. The shop itself is full of wonderful gift ideas, from local goods to beautifully curated items you won’t find anywhere else. One of the things that makes Ojai Roots so special is their commitment to fresh, homegrown ingredients. All of their vegetables come straight from their own garden, and you can taste the difference. The snacks, small bites, and healthy treats they offer always feel vibrant and genuinely nourishing. They also carry the best olive oil I’ve ever had—rich, bright, and absolutely addictive. I have to mention that during its first year, my best friend Peter helped set things up and was a huge part of creating the welcoming spirit Ojai Roots is known for. His friendliness, creativity, and talent in putting together delicious sandwiches and snacks left a lasting mark. Even though he’s no longer there, the feeling he helped cultivate absolutely lives on with people like Summer! Ojai Roots is a place that cares about quality, community, and authenticity, and it shows in everything they do. I can’t recommend it enough.

This is one of my favorite shops in ojai - amazing home goods, trinkets and gifts. They also have a lovely spread of specialty foods for a picnic. We went for a glass of wine, sat in their back patio, and went back the next morning to get some shopping done.

This spot is the ultimate haven for wine enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation. Picture yourself lounging on a cozy outdoor couch, a gentle breeze caressing your face, a glass of wine in hand. Close your eyes and let the soothing sounds of soft music envelop you. What more could you possibly need?

I love it here!! Ojai Roots is the best spot in Ojai with so many cute home, kitchen, and lifestyle products along with all of their farm fresh produce and pre-made meals straight from their Ojai farm 😍✨🌱 Everything is so tasty and the items are super well curated. The entire shop is also just such a cool aesthetic. And, the wine garden out back is to die for and it is so much fun as a meetup spot with friends! Their wine and snack list has such a good selection of pairings and all of the staff always go above and beyond to make it a memorable and friendly experience. I’ve been by a few times and am definitely making this my regular spot in Ojai!!

Such a great addition to Ojai! Obsessed! The fresh juices were divine - we got two of the green ones. The tangerine spritz was incredible - tastes like Ojai. Will definitely go back!

The cutest , comfy and relaxing atmosphere!!!! I love this little spot ! The hubby and I enjoyed some beers and snacks . Listened to soothing music playing in the back ground … so romantic !! Definitely coming back !!

Pretty, sylvan and shady courtyard with comfy furnishings, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and tidbits. One Thursday a month they grill cheeseburgers which are perfectly prepared and served with a side dish. Last week it was marinated cherry tomato salad. California living at it's best.

This seems to be a family owned quaint and cute shop with a friendly staff. So many cute things to buy! There is outside seating a very small amount of bar seating inside. They have some tastings and it was interesting that 2/3 cabs were from Santa Barbara but one was from New York. They have ready to made sandwiches and salads in their fridge with fresh juices. We got some salami and a beet hummus. Apparently the beets are from their store's backyard? They grow their own vegetables which is cool. They have plenty of outside seating with shade and a fan. A nice location for relax and snack.

Cute little space to go sit outside and have some wine tastings and a little cold snack. Nestled in a cozy back area with sofas and tables to relax. Very casual and laidback wine tasting experience. Service was great. Very friendly staff. Stop by this place while in Ojai for sure.

Popped in here after a recommendation from one of the employees at Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room and am so glad she told us about it! It's just a bit off the main road, in a cute little old home building with wine and a shop inside, and just an adorable outside patio area. It felt so homey and welcoming. I really enjoyed the Pinot Noir I got here, and the employees were also so kind and helpful. I just loved the space outside with cozy tables and chairs, couches, and other comfy patio furniture. There's quite an array and a good amount of space; I'm so glad we were here on a day that wasn't too busy. If I lived in the area this would definitely be my go-to even to come alone with a good book and a glass of wine. I can't wait to stop here again next time I'm in town!

We visited Ojai Roots last night, and it was exactly the kind of place that fills your cup. The aesthetic is beautiful and relaxed, the people are genuinely kind, and the whole space has this effortless sense of community that makes you feel like you've been coming for years. We stopped in as part of our SoCal road trip after getting married, and everyone there made the night feel even more special. The food and wine were incredible, and to top it off, they surprised us with a vegan chocolate cheesecake that was to die for -- truly one of the best desserts we've ever had. Ojai Roots is the kind of spot that reminds you what hospitality is supposed to feel like. Can't wait to come back!

I love this place! Ojai Roots is such a nice spot in Ojai to relax and enjoy a good glass of wine. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the patio is beautiful -- I especially love that it's pet-friendly! The service is friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The only thing I think is missing is having more options for small bites. We came on a Sunday, but the kitchen was closed and the market didn't have many choices that day. If they added a few hot bite options, it would honestly be perfect. Still, it's a lovely place to unwind and enjoy some good wine in Ojai!

While in Ojai earlier today I made sure to stop be here to check it out. I have been following Ojai Roots on IG for many years and had bought their olive oil from Ojai Valley Inn a few times. The store looks so lovely, so many cute things to choose from. Handmade pottery, unique candles, plates, bags, jams, honey and many more items. They also have wine and some food items. You can sit on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine or other things. I bought a pot of chestnut honey that's from Spain. Can't wait to try it. My family loves honey ... I'm so glad I stoped by. It's a lovely store with very unique products. Great place to get gifts as well. As far as customer service I wish they were a bit friendlier. ...

Ojai Roots is definitely one of my favorite stops in Ojai and an absolute must visit if you are coming into town. I love everything about this business - the owner and staff are super friendly, their wine selection is top notch, delicious food, and lovely atmosphere. I've been to Ojai Roots twice now and I truly can't get enough. Such an awesome addition to Ojai and exactly what the city needed, a cute market, tapas bar and wine bar off the main drag. In a way it's nice they are off the beaten path because otherwise this spot would be mobbed. I know they're only going to continue to get more popular so I'm enjoying them while they are still one of the best kept secrets in Ojai. The staff here are so welcoming and personable. The owner is lovely and super passionate about the business. I learned so much the first time I came here when I asked him about different wines and their foods. It's nice to see someone who knows a little bit about everything when it comes to the food they source and all of the varieties of wine they sell. Every staff member here though is great. Always 5 star service. Shoutout to Manny as he sticks out to me from our few visits because he is always so attentive and kind. The staff here are lovely. I'm also really obsessed with their whole concept. They've created a beautiful hidden garden / patio oasis in the back. It's super tranquil and cozy. Plenty of shaded tables and couches. It was nice to see they have a small little table inside for sitting in case the weather isn't cooperating but otherwise 99% of their seating is outside. The inside is the cutest market and little shop. Whoever curates and buys their products deserves a raise lol. The juices, fresh refrigerated items and dry goods are all stunning. If you are looking for some mid day snacks, grocery items to take home or cute kitchenware / gifts, this shop has you covered. I really could go on and on. Just know that their wine and tapas / small bites menu is top notch. Their wine options rotate regularly and I haven't had a glass here I didn't like. Love that they really have so many options (not just red and whites). I also love that they now have Spritz's on their menu. I tried the yuzu Spritz and the Ojai Pixie Spritz. Both were so refreshing and good. 5/5 for both! However if I could only pick one definitely go with the Pixie as it's a little more flavorful and sweet, perfect for a hot day. The food here is so great for sharing. My favorite dish is their manchego cheese and quince plate. Trust me and just get it! I also love their little side of break and butter, lemon whipped butter perfection. Lastly, I'm a sucker for their veggie board. Always super fresh and love that the veggie dip changes every so often. So many more bites I need to try here but these are my go to. Ojai Roots will forever have my heart as it's such a special and wonderful place. Always feel welcome here and love the privacy you get to dine and drink here away from all of the hustle down the street. They've done a magical job here and I'll always make a stop back in when I'm in Ojai.

A hippy market that STILL manages to stand out in a town full of hippy markets thanks to their delicious looking prepared food and cool little wine bar. Lots of interesting specialty food items to check out!

Stumbled upon this beautiful place that created a great afternoon! Immediately we were greeted and welcomed throughout the store front. At the time we thought it was just a farm shop, but got recommended the wine bar so we decided to stay for the afternoon. Jen was such a kind person and even encouraged us to a great choice of red, even though we normally drink whites. We decided to pair it with a ham, balsamic, and olive oil baguette sandwich. The garden was so peaceful and created a dreamy afternoon feel that seemed like we were on vacation! Can't wait to come back !

Loved everything about this place. The vibe. The wine. Hosted a big group for my mom's bday and loved it!

The pressed juice and food here were incredible. The service was impeccable. The seating and ambiance inside and outside was clean and well decorated. There were 5 dollar glasses of wine available which is unheard of. The soup is also 5 dollars which I think would be a pretty good deal. Definitely a place to go to relax. The employees here were so nice and helpful.

I really want to love this place. They have great grocery items and I love their little sandwich and salad section. The juices are good too. But be aware that the $12 you pay for a juice does not include a bottle deposit. You won't get any money back for returning it. It sours the whole experience. Also the cookies are usually raw in the middle.

Wow! Ojai Roots is my favorite spot in Ojai for fresh delicious lunch, tapas and wine. Excellent service and beautiful outdoor ambiance.The little shop has wonderful little selection of kitchen staples, some local meats and cheese, and cute gifts too

Visiting from New York, Ojai Roots was recommended to us by a sommelier in Santa Barbara. Very beautiful and eclectic outdoor garden with fresh, delicious salads, sandwiches, and tapas to pair with lovely glasses of wine. Highly recommend for a cozy lunch in Ojai!
