Ojedas has been around for a good few years now. Sure, you can find things to change. But Ojedas showed what is good about Tex-Mex. It was so good to fly in to Love Field and have a place close that represents this style of cooking so well. I have been to many parts of the country to find such tender brisket where you can taste the meat unencumbered by goopy sauce was a joy. Ir was in a taco no less. I loved the puffed taco, but my favorite part of the meal was the salsa and chips. My mom ordered guacamole, and it was fresh and green, but the salsa had just the right flavor and pico level. The pecan praline leaned a bit towards Mexi-Mex but was still flavorful. The servers were great. They were attentive to our needs and friendly.

The food wasn't that good, but I brought it home and it started to taste a little better on days two three and four. My waitress was fairly friendly. The bus boy wasn't very friendly, but he was young,so you know how that goes. I went inside because, I was curious.I always see a lot of cars there, so I thought the food must be really great.

Authentic Mexican food and beautifully decorated. Place was full but service was fast, no long wait👍😜

Found this place tucked away and I can't wait to come back. I came in for dinner and was immediately seated. Server was very attentive and checked in regularly. I had the chicken enchiladas with mole and the brisket nachos. They came out quickly, were full of flavor and didn't skimp out on meat. The frozen mango margarita was a nice cooling treat against the bite of the jalapeños in the brisket nachos. They had a wide variety of margaritas and other cocktails. The decor was the traditional texture mex place with multicolored string lights covering the ceiling. Very festive and warm feeling without the obnoxiously loud music. A place where you can actually have a conversation amongst yourselves. Plenty of free, in-lot parking.

I love giving great reviews but I can’t on this one. Food was not good at all. Waitress was really nice.

Ojeda's has been my favorite restaurant in Dallas for the 23 years I've lived here. I just celebrated my birthday there this weekend and they accommodated my party of around 35 people without any issue at all. Ojeda's is the one place I have always been able to count on for a great eating experience. They have the spiciest, most wonderfully flavored salsa I've encountered, and the most delicious, mild cheese enchiladas. I love the Maple location of Ojeda's, and I recommend it to every person I talk Tex-Mex with at work.

Yelp
What an awesome visit right before Halloween coupled with delightful patio weather. What's not to love about all of that? If you've read my other reviews, you know that my wife and I have close to 5 decades of dining at Ojeda's. I even started down the street a bit when the original little restaurant was on the corner of Lucas and Maple. I so remember mama and papa Ojeda working in the little restaurant. The food WAS so good. As I mention, it was perfect patio weather. We'd headed over to Dallas from Ft. Worth because I want one of the "Spooky Margaritas" they were serving. Let me rephrase, I HAD to have one of the "Spooky Margaritas!" I was hooked after seeing all the cool photos on social media. After being greeted and seated, a basket of hot chips and Ojeda's outstanding salsa arrived. I immediately told the server, two more big bowls please. It has the best "kick" to it. We love the vinegar taste. We ordered a couple of the "Spooky Margaritas" and our entrees. In the decades my wife and I've dined at Ojeda's I've never seen my wife ordered anything but a #3, puffed taco and rice and beans. I usually order a #4, three chalupas. But today I ordered a #10, a puffed taco and a cheese chili relleno. It was an incredible Texas fall day. We enjoyed our margaritas, chips and salsa plus great conversations. The only issue was there was a pesky bee focused on getting into our margaritas, but we dealt with the situation. After a short wait, our entrees on hot platters. Of course, our food was outstanding. Ojeda's has never let us down. We love our trips down I30 to Dallas and then leave with very happy tummies. What a great way to have a pre-Halloween celebration.

Yelp
Location Medical district- just a couple of blocks off medical district and maple streets Atmosphere Festive Mexican, casual- great for groups Seating Bar, 2 dining areas-tables, booths-great for groups Service Outstanding! Attentive and immediate. Menu Complimentary salsa and chips-chips are delish-light and not heavily salted. Specials per day for lunch. We had the Monday special-puff taco with enchilada, beans/rice-excellent! I like a forward corn flavor with enchilada tortilla and it did not disappoint. Our group had the flautas-4 large and mini flautas-6 shorter. Everyone was happy and well satisfied. Summary Our go to restaurant for work lunches-always perfect!

Yelp
First time here, as a meeting place for our local plant group. It's in a harsher part of town, older area for sure. This place has its own parking lot that fenced and gated. Inside, it's a clutter with Mexican motif. However the music they played on this day wasn't from south of the border. Staff was plentiful, but our waitress was mostly non existent. I had to track her down a few times. The food was good. The chimigunga, with ground beef, was good, tho the meat wasn't flavored. The Chili Relleno, with chicken, was really good. Had some good flavor to the chicken. The ranchero sauce was a mixture of ranchero and queso, it was very interesting, but good. If you are in the area, it's worth a taste.

Yelp
Greatness in Mexican food. Family owned and operated and they know customer service. Love the whole menu. Stuffed jalapeños are great. Enchiladas de fajitas are great. Beef or chicken. Definitely have a swirl.

Jose A.

Yelp
Service was so slow and the place was not busy ... mediocre fajitas and margaritas get 6 out of 10.

Laurel Y.

Yelp
DISGUSTING!!!! I was excited to try it after I saw several people recommend it. I was so disappointed. I am sincerely confused as to why anyone likes this place.

Melanie T.

Yelp
The "hot sauce" is to die for!!!! Absolutely love their soft cheese tacos Always pick up an extra jar of their hot sauce to go

Roger G.

Yelp
My first time here. The atmosphere is great. Very lively but not too noisy. The chips are great. The salsa is too sweet and hot for me. I had the cheese poblano with rice & beans. It also had a flavorful sauce. It was hot and fresh with a great poblano flavor. Our server was friendly and helpful.

Mike Z.

Yelp
Last time I was here, it was 2015. Almost ten years later and it's been consistent. I ate everything up because when you live in Nashville now, the level of Tex-Mex or Mexican food in general is very much not what it is in Texas...obviously. Having a swirl, hot chips, spicy salsa and a hot plate of goodness, it really hit the spot. NOTHING has changed, and I'm OK with that because it is your hole in the wall tex-mex restaurant that stays true to what they serve. You have your regulars of locals, so the ambiance feels like you're in the right spot for what you're craving. Like I've stated before in an old review, don't expect to be blown away. But it hits the spot. I'm actually craving it again and I used to never crave coming here. Lol

Michelle C.

Yelp
The interior décor is bright and culturally inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Service is get-to-the-point and comes quickly, especially during lunchtime, which is a big plus. The complimentary chips and salsa are both enjoyable. I ordered the #8 combination special, which included one soft cheese taco and one bean chalupa with rice. The cheese on the soft taco was really good, but the bean chalupa and rice were just okay--nothing special.

Andrew W.

Yelp
Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We got a margarita and it was very big and tasted ok. Not bad but not the best I've had. The food looked very good and the steak was good but I was a little disappointed in my enchilada plate. Overall I'd probably try another Mexican place first but if someone wanted to go back I wouldn't mind.

Belle R.

Yelp
Ojeda's is a favorite of my office. When looking for a good place to dine as a large group, Ojeda's may be what you're looking for. Our service has always been solid and the food is good. I really enjoyed the shrimp salad - the shrimp was seasoned and cooked well, though for $18 there could have been more. The chimichanga (on a past visit) is also quite good. I would definitely recommend giving them a try!

Don G.

Yelp
Large parties on a Saturday night and the place wasn't ready. They need to advise large parties over 10 need to have reservations. Waited for our food for over an hour. Management, "we're sorry!" Non comps or discount for the wait. They even asked us who wants the tortillas on their bill?? $1.60 for tortillas?? Then the waiter didn't come back until 30-40 minutes to tell us the kitchen is backed up. Oh, now you tell us. The worst experience ever for this place. Their prices have skyrocketed. The food quality doesn't coincide with the ridiculous prices. We won't be back.

Zane G.

Yelp
Since I was alone, I sat at the bar. The bar tender was very attentive and did not let the chips/salsa go empty. The salsa is well worth your trip. I watched the staff and they all were working hard to get food/drinks to all the patrons. I was very impressed. I order the fajitas and they were delivered in about 7 mins. They were great. There are festive light strings handing from the ceiling and the building is well maintained and clean. Since I sat at the bar, I could see some of the kitchen/food prep/back. Busy and active kitchens get dirty. The place was very clean. The staff were cleaning as they went along, and they did extra cleaning when they had a moment. Highly recommend.

Caroline Z.

Yelp
Forgot what my Mango drink was, but it was delicious! The chicken Enchiladas were just alright. Very well priced. Would come here just for the drinks

Doug D.

Yelp
Great traditional ambiance. Service was attentive. The complimentary chips were fresh and the house salsa on the hotter side. I heard about the puffed taco at my hotel and from the Uber driver so was anxious to try it. It was not a hand taco by design. Had to eat with a knife and fork. But it was very good. Similar to a mini taco salad in a flaky shell. The chicken sour cream enchilada was flavorful and rich. But honestly the best thing I had was the charro beans. I could have had a whole plate of these! I recommend you substitute these for regular refried beans with any dish.

Bobby W.

Yelp
This is my second time eating at Ojeda's. Absolutely fantastic. I'm a queso snob. And theirs was perfect. Everything was delicious. Di Jairo was our waiter and was very kind and took great care of us.

Charlie W.

Yelp
We had a pleasant server who waited on us. The salsa was a bit watery. The enchilada plate was also a bit bland as well. Plenty of parking and large restaurant.

Chris P.

Yelp
Amazing food great service fast but not rushed. Plenty of seating does get busy on weekend nights. Nice atmospher. Recommend. A++

Missy S.

Yelp
Great spot for catching up with girlfriends. The drinks are top-notch, but the overall experience left me wanting more. The ambiance was your standard Mexican style decor , and the food didn't quite match the excellence of the beverages. Still, if you're in the mood for fantastic drinks, it's worth a visit. The service was subpar. Our server seemed overwhelmed throughout the night which showed through her service.

Art G.

Yelp
Great food and great service, as usual. I will continue to go to this restaurant for future celebrations.

Trey R.

Yelp
This place is a Dallas staple. Always great food and amazing service. No matter when you stop by, they are going to have some kind of special, just ask the waiters. Their flautas are amazing and they have a mini flauta appetizer option. The place is huge, so there's never a huge wait. Parking lot is big as well and always has security watching the cars. Overall great place to frequent.

Juan C.

Yelp
Awesome service and friendly staff. Had me some Sunday menudo. I'm very picky with menudo I come from south Texas and they have some very good menudo. Up here in the Dallas area it's different taste so it's hard to find good menudo. This is the best place so far.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
The food, the drinks, the ambience, the non-pretentious setting the very authentic staff cooks. New service is untouchable anybody in this area if you're not from here, you should definitely try this place is worth it.

Martha L.

Yelp
The food is tasty, appealing to the eyes, and the servers are always accommodating. I can never get enough of good Mexican food. Ojeda's always surpasses my expectations. The atmosphere is cool, casual, and welcoming. I love the fajitas and enchiladas. The cocktails are really good. They don't scrimp on the alcohol. I hate ordering a drink and get the fruity mixture overwhelming alcohol. There are so many great choices that it is sometimes difficult to choose which ones to order. For the other dog lovers out there, I was pleased to know that I could take Mr. Beasley, my yorkie, with me when we ate on the patio. Great place for a date night, family dinner, eating alone, or with your fur baby. Enjoy!

Melanie T.

Yelp
The moment you enter, the ambience just feels very home decorated. I'm not sure if this is present all year long or just during the Christmas period but the restaurant was decked out with lights and ornaments. Very festive mood. We ordered the fajitas for two and it comes with a lot of steak and onions. We shared this between two people and still had to bring half of it back for leftovers. The fajita order comes with three tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and beans and rice. It was a lot of food for the price and you could easily order the fajita for one and share it between two people if you don't want leftovers. The fajita was good. I enjoyed it.

Ronnie B.

Yelp
Service: A+ Food quality: C Pricing: B The food was okay, the margaritas were fabulous.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for a work related lunch on a Wednesday around 11:15 AM. Our group had 10 people. They did not put the tables together, so we sat across two tables. It seems like this is a very popular place for work lunches. It was quite crowded, and there were many people in work uniforms with badges. They did have a separate salsa dish for each person, so I really liked that. The chips were on the slightly thicker side. Their salsa had a bit of a kick to it. The waitress didn't remember who got what despite taking our orders in a counter clockwise order across the two tables. No one got anything special added to their order so everything was correct to order. The food was good. They were able to do a combination spinach, and mushroom quesadilla. The spinach was a tad overcooked, but the mushrooms were fine. There was plenty of cheese, topped onto the quesadilla, and a very healthy sized scoop of guacamole. Overall, I think they did a great job for a large group. The food wasn't amazing, but I thought it was better than average. I would recommend this place for work meals, and I would go back here again on my own.

Yelp
Great Tex-mex restaurant near the Oaklawn Dallas neighborhood. I went some friends for a Friday night dinner and this place was full- that's always a good sign. When you're seated you're immediately served some house made warm chips and salsa. Beware of the salsa, it's great but spicy, you can also request mild- which is more chunky and tomato flavor, also very good. These are prefect with queso. I enjoyed the carne Asada ranchero for my entree and I have no complaints. I asked for my steak medium rare and I could slice it with my fork, it was so tender. There's also a delicious gravy and cheese onto smothering the snack and it's wonderful. Traditional rice and beans on the side and and avocado make this dish one of the best I've had here. Ojedas also has some great waiters- they are attentive and efficient. I left my to go box and our waiter ran to parking lot to give it to me. If you never been, go have a meal here and bring a friend. The good energy is infectious and the awesome food is the cherry on top.

Patricia DeAnn W.

Yelp
Chicken fajita quesadillas with a side of grilled onions. I love the queso, salsa and the guacamole is soooo good! The service is always amazing here. They could clean the bathrooms and update them a little more. They get a lot of use I'm sure. The security in the parking lot is a nice touch.

David B.

Yelp
I've come here many times in the past over 20+ years, it used to be OK but now it's just generic. I know that this is a family restaurant with family recipes however, Over the years, it seems like something has changed. Attention to detail to the flavor of the food. I can't put my finger on it, only that it has changed. The enchiladas and the sauce was like mush, soggy and running. The salsa is bland with no flavor whatsoever, it was basically liquid. The Charro beans was OK but the rice had absolutely no flavor. The restaurant itself seem dirty. The booth was uncomfortable. I was sitting on springs no cushion. With the economy, the way it is today and their prices you're not getting Anything special for what you pay for. The atmosphere is festive and fine, but the food is not comparable to what you could get from a smaller individual restaurant. There are way too many other Mexican restaurants in Dallas that you could go to to get much better food than this. Try Mia's or Uncle Julios instead, or any number of other smaller family owned restaurants.

Jim B.

Yelp
We went Wednesday we were greeted at the door just as friendly as ever. We ordered chicken relleno and shrimp relleno and they were great!. As my picture shows the place was as i remembered it but was very clean and beautifrulL

Kim T.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant while traveling to Dallas/ Ft Worth area on business. The restaurant was not clean. Being I was with a group I stayed fir the meal. The food was not good at all it taste of vinegar. I ordered the Burritto with rice and my fellows ordered the Enchiladas. The salsa for the chips was not good either. As for service our food took a very long time to come out and the wait staff was not attentive to our table.I would not visit again.

Donna J.

Yelp
Decided to have lunch here on a sunday. Busy but seated quickly. Enchilada dinner was good. (beef) plenty of filling and not too spicy. Rice was standard rice. Had queso first. Cheesy and thick-good flavor and again, not spicy. Chips were crisp and fresh. Good service, drinks were kept full and didn't want for anything during meal.

Borgshi T.

Yelp
Great Tex Mex food, great wait staff and wonderful atmosphere. Always good unless there's a wait. I've rarely experienced that.

Amanda M.

Yelp
The service is always impeccable! Jaime always is efficient and the food comes out quickly. The restaurant is family owned and been there for years. The food is delicious and flavorful.

Shirley S.

Yelp
food is always good which is why we always try to stop here for mexican food. after years of coming here, we saw that they give military discount which is always a plus because we know these businesses acknowledge the sacrifices that were made. this visit had us second guessing afterwards. we paid our bill at the register and upon showing our military ID, the cashier made a face as if we wanted free food. my husband did not appreciate that one bit. We still appreciated the waitress and cook staff for the best food provided but we will drive out of our way to a different location as not to experience this again.

David L.

Yelp
Nice casual TexMex. Fantastic friendly service. Found it while looking for another restaurant that looked sketchy. This was a local favorite place

Heather T.

Yelp
Had the stuffed jalapeños. Could make that a meal! And the mole sauce enchiladas were so flavorful! Great service, as always. Went in late afternoon during the week and it was not busy.

Thomas H.

Yelp
Great food and service very consistent. Been around for a long time. Staff very friendly.

Amber N.

Yelp
My aunt and uncle know the original owners and I have been coming here off and on for as long as I can remember. I haven't had the pleasure of dining here in YEARS but last night our family walked in as a group of 9 with no reservation and it wasn't an issue. Sat us immediately, and our server was awesome. We kept the poor guy on his toes, with three kids in tow it seemed like we needed something every second. Definitely tipped extra for how hard he worked! Margaritas are strong and delicious as always. Great queso, salsa is unusually spicy but I love it that way. They have a milder version if you're weak sauce. Some of their food is generic Tex-mex but I love their breakfast tacos served all day. Excellent. Their brisket nachos are also good. I can't wait to come back, it felt like home!

Tano H.

Yelp
Got the guiso that comes with fried rice and beans!! Everything here is so good. Service is great and food comes fast.

Savannah R.

Yelp
first off salsa taste like canned tomato sauce. I asked for a bean, rice and cheese burrito that was too much to ask apparently. We got the veggie and then mixed meat fajitas. Mine was just literally boiled veggies and absolutely no seasoning. Disgusting. The cast iron pan was burning hot and didn't have a glove or anything on the handle burned the crap out of my husbands arm. Blistering now Just a crappy place to eat. 60 worth of food that was terrible.

Cassie P.

Yelp
Nice place, nice staff, pretty good food. There isn't much to say about this restaurant.... They carne asada tacos were really full! The chicken enchiladas chicken was really dry and hard to chew. I did get full but I won't go out of my way to go back here. It's really pretty I side

Aurelio G.

Yelp
This place is a tradition for me grew up going here seen it grow so much TexMex at its finest food is always fresh generous portions alot of variety so something for everyone love the puff taco salsa always on point service is top notch someone always refilling drinks and chips local kinda vibes awesome place to eat drinks or whatever stop in and enjoy

Sarah H.

Yelp
Fantastic hidden gem. Exceptional service. Delicious spicy margaritas. Mole was one of the best I've had. Will definitely be back. All good hot and fresh and authentic. Great flavors.

Justin M.

Yelp
I think the greatest part of coming to Ojedas is the customer service. Always greeted warmly and attentive table service. The food is a mix of traditional and Tex Mex. The sweet tea is always perfect.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Stop hyping this place up. The food was bad and the service was worse. I ordered chicken poblano plate. The chicken was the kind that is breaded in a chicken fried chicken. The beans looked like they were served straight from the can and just as salty as our waitress. The vegetables my friend had were delicious!!!

CT C.

Yelp
Ismeal was fantastic! We had a brief window in Dallas to grab food and then get to an event. Ismeal gave us great recommendations, understood our rush request and fulfilled our mission. He was extremely friendly and we enjoyed every second of his time. The food and margaritas were great too!
