Shame on me for not reviewing Sushi Kuro sooner. I've been eating Chef Taylor's food for years. The dude does not miss!
Sushi, poke, ramen, sushi burritos, and katsu sammies if you're lucky. When they had another location on the other side of town, the sushi was a mainstay for me. Now I've been obsessing over the poke and ramen.
Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl ($14.95) // spicy tuna served over rice with edamame, cucumber, mango, seaweed salad, and avocado. There's no reason for this poke bowl to be THIS GOOD but it is. Absolutely phenomenal flavors. The tuna actually has heat to it. I've never had a poke bowl with seaweed salad and it's a game changer. 11/10 no notes!
Pork Belly Tonkatsu ($16.95) // pork belly, shrimp cake, marinated mushroom, bamboo, egg, negi. On cooler days, this is exactly what my body craves. I had never had Taylor's ramen before, and it's essentially a flavor bomb of rich broth and generous portions of tender pork belly. Every component thoughtful and in its right place. I was slurping the broth so loud you probably heard me from next door!
I'm a big advocate of Denver's food hall scene and you're going to always be satisfied here. As I write this it's still under the moniker Zeppelin Station, but the name will be changing shortly with a new concept. To my knowledge, the food stalls like Sushi Kuro will remain, with the addition of new players shortly.
If you want creative, healthy, and delicious food, you need to try Sushi Kuro ASAP!
