The Best Ecuadorian Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Dekalb Market Hall is one of the best and most interesting food halls in the city (a distinction that actually means something nowadays), and Okey Ecuadorian Food is one big reason why. Their menu is succinct, but it covers a bunch of classics, like encebollado, ceviche, and crispy fried carne apanada. Focus on the meats, like the ribs that come doused in a sticky sweet sauce, and well-seasoned steak served with fries, rice, salad, and a little grilled sausage." - bryan kim

I can't believe I had bad Ecuadorian food My french fries where super cold and my stakes was warm not so much seasoned 😒 didn't taste really good . I had plenty of Ecuadorian food this experience i give this 0 out of 10 . If I can give it below 0 stars I would . I will definitely not ever come back to this restaurant i hope that the owner gets to see this review and takes a deeper look into his restaurant because this is a disgrace to Ecuadorian culture. Okey Ecuadorian food should definitely change it's name because what I eat was a customer worst tastes buds. Its going to be hard to recuperate from this disaster of an established. Dear owner I think it's time to shut your door

Food is so far amazing I still have to try out the other dishes, I tried the BBQ ribs, the encebollado, and the steak and beans. The food is delicious a bit on the pricey side but nice for a special day. I would’ve liked to hear more Ecuadorian music though. Other than that I had a great experience

The second location is great as the first location. If you want to experience an authentic Ecuadorian food, Okey Ecuadorian Food is the place to go. Staff, atmosphere, and food are GREAT. We highly recommend El Barco for a large group. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 🫶🏽😊🏆🇪🇨

The food was absolutely amazing! We tried El Barco, and it was hands down the best seafood combination we’ve ever had. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. If you’re a seafood lover, this is a must-try. Highly recommended!

Today my girlfriend and I decided to stop by this Ecuadorian Restaurant. The waitress Vanessa was very nice. The food was over seasoned and extremely high in sodium. The bill came out to $68.30 including $4.25 NJ Tax and came out to $78 dollars. I find it very disrespectful not mentioning in your menu that you charge a " Service Fee" for us it was $9.70 that goes straight to the owner for what? For people to come to your establishment and eat? Higher than NJ Tax? Which means the more you spend, the more you pay for your service fee? That takes away the tip you would like you give your server. It's time to close your doors Mr. OWNER or do better.

Our waitress was a gem. Food, was "okey" Shrimp was hard. Overcooked. Didn't taste fresh and also it was expensive.

I would never recommend this place to anybody. We went in to eat on a Sunday evening and not only did the waiter have a bad attitude, but he did not seem to know how to treat people as soon as I walked in. I order a Juice shake He told me that the Juice machine was not working and that they only had soda that day my guess was the male waiver didn’t want to make the shakes because when I asked another waiter, she said that the Juice machine was fine and they are serving shakes then . When the food came we hope that would make up for all the bad service but. The rice was hard and cold and the fish was so oily!!! if you are in the area and looking for good Ecuadorian food do not try this place. This is a rip off and I really hope the owner sees this comment and makes some change because the neighborhood needs a good Ecuadorian place. Unfortunately this restaurant did not meet the standards. !!!!!! And the next morning I saw my bank account and noticed they over charged me an extra $10 in tip my bill was $81 including the tip but they add an extra $10 and I was changer $91 !!! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE !
